Excellent food, especially the salmon with great options of sides. They serve good portions too. One of the few restaurants, I feel give you your moneys worth. The lady who tends to your orders is quite polite. I order here at least once a month.

Clean, good food, good portions, and reasonably priced

We stopped here on the way home from a long trip. The owner was very friendly and she patiently explained the different dishes to us. We each ordered a plate of food that came with a couple of sides. Tom ordered the beef short ribs and I ordered the bbq chicken. Both dishes were out of this world delicious and I can’t wait to go back and eat them again. Perhaps we’ll try some dumplings and the pork shoulder next time. Highly recommended!

Ono!😋 Ono is a Hawaiian word that can be used to describe something that is enjoyable and delicious. Honest and healthy cuisine and food. I recommend bibimbap❤️ I'll go get some boba tea next time.🧋 I found this Korean restaurant by chance and it was really delicious and I was full.🥰

You honestly can't go wrong with any of the fish dishes that are prepared. My favorite is the salmon with black rice but the fish jeon (fried fish) and poke bowls are a pescatarian's dreams.

Legit Korean Hawaiian BBQ like Hawaii

It's more of a takeout restaurant than a dine-in. But if you want to eat inside, expect service to be slow if there's lots of people ordering takeout. There's only one lady handling the front of the house. Anyway I dine in and ordered bibimbap. I didn't expect it to be served in takeout box. But at least it tasted good.

This is a great place to enjoy Korean. Just tried it tonight, me and my family had a lovely dinner. Thank you

This is a tiny business. If you're planning to eat there, you order at the counter and are served in takeout containers. The food was good and tasty. Portion was enough to share. Friendly staff

Hidden Gem! If only I knew about this place earlier… absolutely amazing! Delicious delicious delicious. Friendly staff. I live 40 minutes from another state and still would come back. I WILL BE BACK!

Always great food and great customer service

This place is awesome. I get takeout from here when I'm at work at least once a week. The prices are a little high, but you get large portions. The food is also consistently good, and it is ready for pick up quickly. I would definitely recommend it.

Delicious bimibap, garlic chicken entree and sweet and sour wings! The kimchi and radish kimchi were amazing and the noodles were fantastic too! Loved it!

We were looking for a good local Korean restaurant where we could try a few unique, authentic dishes! Ono did not disappoint! We placed a to go order and brought it home to eat. Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious! We ordered the garlic chicken plate, which was crispy and tasty and the beef bulgogi, tender and sweet. We also tried the tonkatsu and the mandoo soup. Really enjoyed the tender filling in the mandoo. It was fun to try some new side dishes as well! Overall, the food was delicious and we will be back! The prices seemed a bit high at first, but each meal was easily enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Try it out!

Don't sleep on this casual Korean eatery with some Hawaiian plate lunch vibes! I'm so happy I can find food like this in central Jersey, flavorful and unique. There are tables to dine in, but you'll order at the counter just like take out orders, and they'll bring it to you in a take out container because the portions are big and you'll most likely take the rest home. Entrees are cooked to order and served hot and delicious. The lady behind the counter was cheerful and efficient as tonight she seemed to be the only person front of the house. I ordered the spicy garlic chicken and spicy pork entree. They are served over white rice and your choice of four side veggies out of a large list. The spicy garlic chicken is a lightly battered and fried boneless chicken pieces cooked in a sweet hot sticky sauce with fried garlic chips. This is my favorite and is to die for. The order came with more chicken than I can eat in one sitting, and that glaze is nothing like I've eaten before...beware, it packs punch for those who are sensitive to spicy, but they have it in a non spicy version as well: garlic chicken. Heads up, this isn't anything like Chinese food even though some of the dishes have similar names. The spicy pork are slices of boneless pork in a Korean/Hawaiian bbq sauce and char grilled with some very nice char around the edges. And for both entrees I picked all veggie sides to complete the meal. Each entree was either $18 or $19 I think, but you are getting a large portion of high quality food...nothing that I ate was processed or instant. Everything tasted home cooked and fresh. The photo I posted, the spicy pork box I had already eaten half of it before I took the picture just to give you can idea of the portion.

I love this place! Pricing is great and the owners are super nice. On top of that, the food is excellent.

First impressions: location seemed to be more of a mom/pop deli vibe, staff where awesome and helpful but prices seemed high. Turns out you get what you pay for, food was delicious and portions where good sized (I usually finish my plate but I definitely have a second meal for later) will definitely return when I'm next in the area!

If you’re from Hawai’i or ever had the chance to eat Korean BBQ in Hawai’i and are trying to find a taste of home in New Jersey, THIS IS THE PLACE. I’d drive an hour just for a plate of Meat jun, the banchan (all the sides), rice, everything! So good!

Such incredible food and a true hidden gem of Matawan! All the food here is flavorful and always prepared perfectly. The side dishes are hands down my favorite part. I think I could probably eat a whole container of their Mac salad and braised potatoes. Customer service is fantastic too and I love the comfy atmosphere of the restaurant. Don’t forget a beverage too! The Hawaiian Sun drinks are hard to come by but soooo tasty! Really can’t say enough good things about this place

Large portions but sadly came delivered cold and very bland/ no flavor

Nothing really exciting about this place. My wife hated her very dry and tasteless fried garlic chicken for $16 served in a foam container to the table. When I politely told the employee my wife did not like her dinner all we got was a “sorry.” No offer to make her something else. My meal at $19 was good not great, and overpriced. And, they charge extra for using a credit card. $44 for a meal one of us didn’t eat and threw away. Silly people didn’t try to make it right and broke the cardinal rule of customer satisfaction. That gets a poor review and a warning to others.

So so delicious! We ordered the spicy pork bulgogi and the spicy garlic chicken and both were so yummy. The spicy garlic chicken was considerably more spicy than the spicy pork but it was a good kind of spicy- so flavorful! Such friendly service too! We also ordered bubble teas, which were good.

First time trying Ono Korean BBQ; it was great! We had the BBQ chicken & pork bulgogi lunchboxes. They were so good! I will definitely come back for more! We also order the Bubble Tea and it did not disappoint! Loved everything!

We ordered the kalbi Entree and spicy garlic Chicken Entree. The food is very flavorful and we will definitely be back.

I come here once a week. I try something different every time and I have yet to eat one single thing that wasn’t delicious. Great price for the amount of food you get

The name says it all. Oh no! I ordered beef bulgogi and tenkatsu pork. Unfortunately I can't even give them a four star. The food was mediocre at best. The beef bulgogi had a texture problem. It was gummy and the tenkatsu pork was deep fried. Very, very well done and dry. I try to give most places a second chance so if I'm in the area I may go back again.
