If you're traveling the U.P. for fall colors and travel through U.S. 42 south of Marquette or M94 from Munising, Chatham, or Autrain, make a plan to stop at the A&M cafe for some delicious food, very hearty delicious breakfasts, great lunch and dinner, and an ample amount of desserts and baked goods for any hungry belly.

Delicious breakfast choices! I had the classic breakfast, eggs, hash browns, bacon, and toast and everything was great! If you’re a breakfast person you can’t go wrong here!

A & M Cafe is under NEW Ownership. Of the 3 ladies, Angie Jacqueline were known to me. Jacqueline came to the table, often helping out. She is also the baker ( cookies, muffins, etc.. ) They are off to a very fine start. I had the chicken 🐔 fried steak with gravy ,potatoes, and eggs. My wife had the special prime rib, potatoes 🥔, and eggs 🥚. I'll start with the single negative. The gravy had a bit too much sausage in it, but the real problem was the gravy had no flow ( it was too thick ). The eggs were prepared nicely, and as I requested them, the potatoes ( I don't eat thos type to much, but when I do, I like them harder. My wife loved the steak, the over easy eggs 🥚 she was happy with. Oh, the Biscuit is 🔥 FIRE!!!! This is a happy little place for good eats. We will return. I believe they have a military discount, but I keep forgetting to ask.

Food was left over from the night before. I could have eaten leftovers at home. Won't be going back.

Five stars for the food and service. Small place and you probably wouldn't stop for the decor, but I will gladly stop again. I stopped for dinner (breakfast service ends at 2pm) just as it got busy, ordered the classic "Robert?"-burger and fries to keep it as simple and quick as possible. The burger was a hand-made patty and grilled perfectly to some carmelized edges on a grilled quality bun, served with fresh tomato and onion slice, pickle wedge and slices as well, I skipped the lettuce and added cheese (ordered pepper jack but think I got sandwich-style mozzarella, well melted), and it was all very delicious as served. The fries seemed to be fresh cut and were also delicious, maybe slightly softer than my preferred crispiness, but served very hot and had tasty fresh potato flavor (I ordered them unseasoned). The waitress was great - freindly, good attitude, and very hard-working. She was really running, serving orders and still regularly checked on every table as she went. Several people ordered the chicken dinner, and it looked really good. She said you had three prep choices: broasted, deep fried, (and I forgot but think baked, or maybe grilled?). They were baking fresh breads, you could get loafs to go, (and I think muffins and cookies). Many hours later, I'm still thinking how good that burger was.

GREAT food, large portions, wonderful service! Omelettes are the best I've ever had, the ribs were tender, the broasted chicken is absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked, and my family loves the burgers and country fried steak. 100% recommend, you will not be disappointed!

We enjoy the A&M Cafe breakfast. The food is enjoyable and delicious. We always get great and friendly service . The A&M Cafe is a tiny local restaurant with a huge heart. The staff makes you feel like family. Keep up the good work 👏. We'll be back soon. 😊

Retro vibe but we love that feel. The food and service are fantastic! I had the prime rib and will definitely order it again. Worth driving a few miles. Did I mention the apple and blueberry pie? Yum!

This Georgia boy didn't know they could make proper biscuits and gravy that far north, but it was delicious, and the folks were delightful!

Everything was absolutely amazing and made from scratch!!! You don't get great service and great food from just anywhere!!! Local or tourist!! This place is spectacular. I appreciate the server and the cooks for being outstanding.

Great prices, great food. Great service. Classic local stop for breakfest or lunch specials. Closed on mondays and tuesday. Had some servers issues tonight mixing things up, but they corrected it and all was good.

Stopped by for breakfast while on vacation in MI. Food was delicious & fast! There were 2 servers working, young/dark haired girl was kind and attentive. The older server with long/light colored hair was rude.

We don't eat in much anymore, so I ordered the whitefish sandwich togo It was great with fries. My only problem was the on line menus were so old the hours and prices were off. I like to shop the menu, before making the trip. Food was great, would like to try the fish fry if they could print more info.

Don't let the looks fool you. The food was excellent and prices affordable. Bean and sausage soup was very good. I would highly recommend eating there.

An amazing home town restaurant with lumber jack sized portions. Home cut fries done to perfection. Worth the stop. AM burger was excellent.

Very clean family restaurant. The food portion is big and home cooking style. My prime rib steak is quite over cooked than medium rare I ordered but I don't mind. It's a lot of meat, very satisfying. Really appreciate the warm and hearty food right at the roadside. Highly recommend!

You can't ever go wrong with A & M! From the service to their food, it's always delightful! Try the Texas burger.

I really liked this little out in the middle of nowhere place. My Grandpa took 8 of us out here for a Friday fish fry. One of us had a burger, which was very good. The rest of us got fish, and we all got different kinds or prepared differently - steamed/fried. Portions were huge. A few of us had fish that wasn't as hot as we'd like - but it was definitely cooked and had probably cooled while the rest of our plates were being prepared. The service was great and the place was busy! A very local establishment - you might even run into someone you grew up with if you lived in this area 😉 I'd like to go back again, next time I'm up there, and try some of their other dishes.

I liked it, the food was great and daily specials were tempting and each day they have a different special.. staff was good and they worked together as a team. The fireplace was inviting and decor was of local pictures and very interesting. I would like to go back. Bathroom was clean and very cute.

Cute little restaurant! Clean! We had today’s special which was Prime Rib, potato (we chose mashed w/gravy) salad, vegetable (chose carrots which were sweet and tasty) and desert…choice of chocolate sundae or sherbet. The food was excellent with that homemade touch! The table next to us got a pizza which looked amazing, and disappeared as soon as the server set it on the table! Bathrooms were spacious and clean with easy access. We had great a server, and everyone was so nice… From the road, the restaurant is a small brown building with a big gas station type awning, so don’t miss it!

Stayed a week in Marquette and ate out quite a bit.....but the best meal I had was breakfast at the A & M ! Those home fries are very good !

I didn't like the cheese on my sandwich and they happily made me another without cheese! Great customer service!

We stopped here after our long trek to Ebens Ice Caves and back in fresh snow. We were so tired and hungry. Huge portions for great prices. Kind people! I met the owner on our way out and that was a pleasure as well. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area!

We absolutely love getting take out meals for our whole family. Everything they serve is amazing. Absolutely amazing. The burgers and sandwiches are huge and taste to good. They have great pizza and amazing breakfasts. The Friday night fish dry is so good. You must give them a try. They do awesome with take out dinners as well.

Very good food. I've been there many times and never got anything that wasn't delicious. The portion sizes...are huge. Im always taking food home with me.

If you are looking for a great place to dine, this is it. The fish fry is fabulous and breakfast wonderful. I have eaten in many places and this one is on the TOP of my list. GREAT HOME STYLE dinners and breakfasts.

Good place to eat. Courteous service. The biscuits are a bit heavy. I got a half order of biscuits and gravy, couldn't even finish half of that. You gotta be damn hungry to finish a whole order. We got there during the Sunday after church crowd. Very busy.

Awesome folks who make some great food. They were shorthanded when we stopped, but that didn't prevent them from giving us the best service they could muster. And the food was outstanding. My wife and I really enjoy the breakfasts here. You might as well consider them two breakfasts on a plate because of how much you get.
