Amazing. Beautifully designed and created my wedding cake and was a great communicator every step of the way. Everyone complimented my wedding cake and said it was one of the best they had seen and also tasted. Delicious and beautiful! Our bakery for specialty cakes.

Thank goodness for anniversaries, birthdays and special events. While you can order your cake anytime, we usually wait for special events. This strawberry shortcake is a harmonious blend of sweetness and freshness. The sponge cake is incredibly soft and light, almost floating and melting in your mouth. It's mildly sweet, which allows the natural flavor of the strawberries to shine through. The whipped cream is light, not too sweet, and has a smooth, velvety texture that pairs perfectly with the cake and strawberries. The balance between the sweetness of the cake and cream, and the tartness of the strawberries, is exceptional. The texture is a standout feature of this cake as with all their cakes. The sponge cake is fluffy and moist, providing a delicate base for the layers of whipped cream and strawberries. The cream is whipped to a soft, cloud-like consistency that doesn’t overwhelm the palate. The strawberries add a slight crunch and juiciness, offering a nice contrast to the softness of the cake and cream. As always this strawberry shortcake is visually appealing, (it’s Japanese folks 😊) with its clean and simple presentation. This cake is decorated with strawberries and my favorite, blueberries on top, which adds a vibrant pop of color against the white whipped cream. It’s finished with a dusting of powdered sugar or a light drizzle of syrup, making it look as delightful as it tastes. This strawberry shortcake is a must-try. All the other cakes are magnificent too.

Designs great but fondant takes horrible. Tastes very bland, not marshmallowy, just not good… it’s a very dry chalky texture. Also overpriced and don’t accommodate your needs. I was charged $150 on a three layer cake. So over priced!!! And not even good. I could make better fondant. Will not recommend.

Strawberry shortcake, chocolate cake, cream puffs, Anmitsu, an-pan, etc.... Everything is ultra super tasty!!!! My husband and I looooooooove A'Fondant desserts. Friendly, clean and good atmosphere. I recommend visiting early Saturday / around noon. Because of small businesses, cakes are limited. My husband and I are both fans of this dessert! All of them are delicious and I have a hard time choosing which one to try every week (⁠;⁠ŏ⁠﹏⁠ŏ⁠) The shop staff are friendly and the atmosphere is good, there is nothing more to say ♡ We recommend visiting immediately after opening on Saturday. It's a popular store and the quantity is limited, so if you don't go early, it will be sold out (⁠๑⁠•⁠﹏⁠•⁠)

We ordered a custom chocolate cake for my daughter’s birthday…..the output they given was extremely woahhh…..everyone in the party liked the taste of the cake it’s not over sweet it’s just perfect to eat and its very spongy….so thankful I chose A FONDANT…..I really really liked it…..I ll definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for perfect custom cake…will order again

The Japanese style cheesecake here is incredible. Its a little expensive, but definitely the best cheesecake I have ever had.

We ordered a strawberry birthday cake. Quite tall so the 7 inch cake was more than enough for a party of 8 adults. Just the right amount of sweetness. The cake was super soft and tasty. Will order again!

My husband bought me a 7” birthday cake here. Decorations were the only nice thing. Buttercream was hard. Cake was more of a pound cake than sponge. He could have gotten a better cake at Kroger. Not worth $60 for a mediocre cake.

Best wedding cake ever! So thankful I chose Sugako to make our cake. The buttercream was the best and we loved how she did the birch bark. Had chocolate and vanilla cupcakes for the guests, who all loved them! Definitely recommend A’Fondant!

火曜日に伺ったらショーケースにケーキが無く、驚きました。そういう曜日だったようで、冷凍ケーキを売っていただきました。 チーズケーキとロールケーキ、ティラミス、抹茶ティラミスです。冷凍とは言え、どれもふわふわ程よい甘さで、日本のケーキを思い出しました。美味しかったです。 火曜日と水曜日はショーケースに並べられない日とおっしゃっていました。土曜日に訪れるのが1番良いようです。また改めて伺いたいです。

I ordered cake for my daughter's first birthday, the design which we wanted was a random design from internet and to everyone's shock we got what we were looking for.. Everyone at the party liked the cake and it was the best which we could have had... I would continue to go there....

We went here for the first time to order a custom cake for my brother-in-laws 40th birthday! This place was AMAZING! We will definitely be back. They blew away our expectations and the staff was so kind!! Not only did they decorate the cake exactly how we imagined, it was absolutely delicious!!!

Went in looking for a last minute birthday cake, which they didn't have. They made one for me which I picked up that same afternoon. And it was delicious!

Their Strawberry shortcake is hands down the best cake I’ve ever tasted. It is so refreshing, light, and airy. Its not overly sweet at all like most other cakes. I emailed A'Fondant to order a cake for my son's 13th birthday. Sugako was very prompt in responding and was able to accommodate my order. From the website, I knew the style of cake I wanted but I was looking for very personalized decorations that reflected my son's interests. I sent her some photos and she delivered a quote the next day. When I went in to make the deposit, Sugako went over my requests and understood what I was looking for. The cake was absolutely stunning! Sugako incorporated all of my son's interests beautifully - scouts, music, art and even the family cat as an extra surprise! The cake had a smooth fondant wrap over a rich butter cake with a buttercream layer in the middle. It was fabulous all around! If you're looking for cake mastery, don't pass this place up! The service is wonderful and the product is excellent! Thank you Sugako for everything - we so appreciate it!

They did my bridal shower cake and it was so beautiful! It had roses all over it made out of the frosting. Everyone there kept commenting how good it was!

A cute place serving Japanese patisserie. I ordered Strawberry Shortcake for a friend’s birthday and she loved it. We tried a couple of other items, each of it was made delicately. However, they bake in small quantities. Recommended to go early in the day to get all variety.

It's great taste products, but if you like the popular cake taste in US, you might think it's not sweet and sticky enough.

After eloping in New York City, my parents graciously hosted an impromptu wedding reception for my husband and I in my childhood home. They ordered a custom cake from A'Fondant because I requested a Japanese-style strawberry shortcake since I grew up eating those (my mother is from Japan, and I went to Japan regularly as a child). For those of you that do not know, Japanese-style cakes are similar to French-style cakes in that they are not as sugary as cakes commonly found in the United States and often use fresh fruit and chocolates as toppings. So despite tasting rich and delicious, they're not as sinful as the typical cakes you might find at the grocery store. As you can see from my photo, the cake was GORGEOUS! We almost felt bad cutting into it since it was decorated so beautifully with the butter/whipped cream frosting, chocolate covered fruits, and chocolate plate (the plate says celebration for those that cannot read Japanese). The sponge was mild tasting yet flavorful and the icing was decadent without being too rich. It tasted authentically Japanese in my opinion. And despite strawberries not being in season, those tasted great too! All 20+ of my guests that came to my reception LOVED the cake and begged to take some home but it disappeared too quickly! My American and non-American family all loved it. My husband and I are still raving about it and hope to visit A'Fondant too when we're back in town. In addition to the quality of the cake, the staff were absolutely amazing. They accommodated our request in such short notice because they know how important it is to have a tasty cake when celebrating a new marriage. While other Japanese-style bakeries rejected our request because of the short notice and it was near the New Year holiday, these lovely workers really went the extra mile to make their customers happy. Though this bakery is a located in Canton away from the Japanese restaurant hub in Novi, it is absolutely worth the trip and this business deserves our support. They care so much about their customers and make such quality sweets. Please give them a try!!

I was very interested to have a special cake design for my son's end-of-chemo celebration, and A' Fondant certainly did not let me down! A' Fondant spent much time to understand exactly what I was looking for - and developed a beautiful cake design that was a major hit with our son and everyone else who saw / ate it. Sugako even developed the separate sheet cakes following the same theme. There is no doubt they care deeply about their customers to ensure satisfaction is above-and-beyond expectations. The best cake in the USA. Possibly in the world. I don't live in Michigan anymore but I always dream of going back to A'Fondant. Their cookies are also amazing. The owner, a lovely Japanese lady, takes great pride in her creation. If you live in driving distance from A’Fondant, it is almost a sin not to come here at least once!

I just ordered a birthday cake for my mother and oldest daughter who were visiting - even though I wanted a simple cake, the owner was eager to make sure she created exactly what I asked for. The resulting cake was beautifully made and even more important, tasted amazing. There is nothing wrong with cakes made from the supermarket - if you want something a little special though, I'd strongly recommend A'Fondant. Also, other deserts made there look tempting too - we tried some of the baked cheesecake and will definitely buy more!

I visit and order their special cake on a weekly basis. The cake's taste is soooo good even though its price is quite high. If you want to get treated what you have done by the end of week, A'Fondant is my definite recommendation.

I ordered a smash cake for my son's first birthday and 30 cupcakes. I gave my idea, and showed a picture. When I went to pick it up, it was ready to go, and looked exactly like I wanted. They even carried it out to my car for me. The price was very fair, too. The cupcakes were moist and so delicious. Will definitely order more cakes from here in the future

Dream Cakes created this freakin' fabulous Halloween cake for our office Halloween party. The cake was half chocolate/half vanilla and it tasted so fresh.
