Waitress was a disaster. Wouldn’t recommend unless you are looking to get yelled at for politely asking questions about menu. Not sure why the owner or manager still keeps her in but better to fire her or change the system before the business goes down horribly.

Oh so much thank for the racism towards Korean while working at a Korean restaurant. Banging water bottles on the table, rolling eyes and yelling for a simple question asking when the service has been changed to order at the counter instead taking orders at the table? If you don’t want to work and wanna be a racist, just don’t be there and get a life. Food is great. I’m sure the owner is great, too. What a disaster to have such a trash part timer to throw away the reputation. Be aware this racist lady. I’d only get take out only just to avoid the whole racism and negativity from her.

Nice Korean cafe with good food at a fair price. The service was the best, fast and attentive. The food had good flavor though the bulgogi stew was short on meat. Being able to sit outside with my dogs is definitely a plus.

Very low key spot. Had the bulgogi kimbop it’s a good size and very tasty. Comes with a nice dipping sauce that brings out more flavor. Definately recommend

Hidden gem / neighborhood favorite. Wholesome homestyle Korean cooking. BYOB and a liquor store is right across the street.

The seafood spicy stew was such a let down. Watery and no flavor. I probably could’ve made this at home with no experience.

I went there two times within 4 days. Find in first trying their tofu pots, which were tasty and tofu was very tender while the soup wasn’t too salty. The other time I ordered a takeout. I remembered having a roll like dish but ended up having a bowl of rice with kimchi pork on top. I was in a hurry so I didn’t check further. Anyway should have tried the fried rice if I had expected to get this. In general the taste was good. Would be glad to visit in the future!

Ordered the tuna 김밥, pork 김밥 and 불고기. The rice they used for all the dishes were the same awful texture. It was dry and a bit undercooked. Either that or it was very old rice. Both kimbabs were so dry, I didn't enjoy them. The bulgogi was also too oily. I love Korean food and I have been to so many. This place isn't it. The kimchi was okay, a bit sweet but okay. Overall, if you're familiar with good authentic Korean food, you will get disappointed here but if you're wanting to eat just a 'whatever' Korean food then this place will do okay.

We saw that Ahri's kitchen had great reviews and decided to give it a try. We ordered the veggie waffles, Japche (glass noodle dish), Tofu Binbimpop and the vegetable roll Gimbop! Both the appetizers were awesome and we loved them. The main course dishes were good too. Although the serving size looked small, it was more than sufficient for the two of us and the dishes are all good value for money. The one and only put off was the service, we were first asked to sit anywhere because the place was almost empty when we went and then the server came up to us and asked us to move to another 2 seat table that was not clean. The whole time we were there, no one else came in so this was kind of unnecessary. I'm not reducing stars since we loved the food, but hope the restaurant will improve their service going forward.

The seafood spicy tofu soup was delicious! This was just what we were looking for for solid Korean food. We also got a bulgolgi rice roll and bulgolgi bibim rice that was also decent. Over all satisfied and we would come back.

I had high expectations for the food but it was so-so. Gimbap had only 3 ingredients in it (which is unusual for authentic gimbap!) and spicy pork was not properly marinated, the spicy paste was not evenly applied to the meat. The only dish I liked was japchae. Probably won’t go back here for Korean food, it didn’t feel like the food quality was great.

Food was really just OK. I got the mini beef bibimbap which was just so so. The kimchee placed on the table was terrible, it wasn't fermented at all. The kimchee fries were worse. It was the same bad kimchee placed on fast food fries. The waiter was really nice and the atmosphere inside the place is good. I wish the food had a bit more love and effort to it. I would recommend going elsewhere for better Korean food. Or maybe I just caught them on a bad day.

Oh my god, I fell in love with that small restaurant. The food is amazing and pretty cheap.

Love this place and been here a ton of times but whoever the girl is who works in the front is extremely rude. Tried to go in today around 2 pm and there was a sign on the door that said “on break.” My friend popped her head in just to ask when they’ll be off break so we can come back and the girl in the front immediately starts shaking her head and answers “I’m on break don’t come in” my friend repeats the question and asks until when she’ll be on break and she goes “until I finish my food bruh leave.” And so we left. The owner is who I usually see when I go and he’s a nice guy but if this is who you have handling customers she’ll literally drive everyone away.

A lovely place for a quick meal in a clean and lively setting. The best kimchi I’ve ever had in my life. Rice was underdone, but guessing that’s just a fluke. Would come here again!

I enjoyed it but it wasn't the best I've had. It was fresh and didn't make me regret my lunch. Everything just seemed under flavored.

First time here, came for lunch, and was disappointed. Was excited to have fresh gimbap but rice in bulgogi and tuna rolls was SO dry didn't want to eat. It was as if rice was pre-applied then left to dry out. The other ingredients in middle were okay. Wings were okay and Grandma's pork dumplings were tasty but menu states pan-fried but these were deep fried (which I don't eat). I will not go here again.

Intimate, cozy place. Service is no-nonsense and efficient. Food is fresh and flavorful.

This is one of my fav spots in JC! They have delicious food! I recently tried their veggie waffles and kimchi fried rice with tofu (yes they customize if you ask for tofu)! I have also tried their Tofu Bibimbop and it’s yummy. 10/10 recommend this place <3

I was surprised by the quality of the food and the size of the portions. Worth every penny. In addition to the good food, the place has a cozy atmosphere.

Good place to eat Korean food. Kim chi fried rice and ramen were really good. Rolls in sushi style as well. You can bring your own alcohol from the store close to the restaurant.

This is fusion Korean so I wouldn't go when I'm craving the home cooked style with the banchan, stew, etc. Actually not sure what the style is but the location is really cute.

Don't ever order delivery. I have never gotten a deliver order on time (up to two hours late once) and something is always missing. It's so disappointing because I find the food truly very good.

Good food good price, small menu but everything was good.

This was my first time eat at Ahri’s kitchen. Previously, they were good. But this time, I was so disappointed because of the qualify of the food. I ordered a lunch special yesterday. The fried rice is burned, the black parts are the burned stuff. It feels like they feed me using some leftover rice and just cook whatever they have. I definitely will not order the same food again. By the way, the waiter was also impatient. He did not smile, did not talk nicely. Not sure if he has a bad day or just like that. I hope the quality goes back to what I ordered previously.

Lovely Saturday night dinner with 2000s rock playing. Great atmosphere, adequate vegetarian options and quick service. The tofu bibimbap, vegetarian dumplings and the tartufo were all good.

Waited 30 minutes for takeout items. The person behind the counter had no explanation for why, but my bag was sitting on the counter for ten minutes before he handed it over.

Food was good. Would recommend their wings and dumplings. Love their kimchi too, however I would add a little bit of seasoning or even salt to the bibimbap, the vegetables are lacking.

Food comes out fast but subpar. If you feel like Korean and have no good options I guess this could work. They have indoor and outdoor seating. You can just walk up and order.

This location and neighborhood Korean eatery has so much more potential. I have visited several times hoping a different chef is in the kitchen. I wish there were healthier and more classic Korean food options (including banchan) on the menu. I have eaten a lot of Korean food in my lifetime and Ahri's kitchen hits the spot for customers that aren't familiar with Korean food and don't know better. Food - The gimbap roll falls apart and the rice is not great. The seafood ramen is just instant ramen with small pieces of seafood. The tofu tacos were ok, not sure why they squirt wasabi sauce instead of gochugang. The spicy pork is tasty but dry. The japchae is greasy and not too salty. The bibimbap looks legit but the taste is missing something. Service - Basic. No greeting, smile or small talk, you are expected to just order, pay and sit down. Expect the opposite Korean hospitality you get in midtown. Atmosphere - Neighborhood vibe. Black and white photography to give off the authentic Korean restaurant vibe. The place does have an overpowering detergent cheap hand soap smell - it is a huge turn off like another reviewer mentioned. The smell lingers in your mind afterwards more than the meal - another reason to sit outside to eat. If the food was better, I'd go every week!

How do you make kimchi fried rice this bad?

The food is amazing and the people who work there are always super kind and accommodating to a baby.

Used to be decent but now it’s meh. The gimbap is never rolled tightly enough and always falls apart, on top of being bland. Bulgogi and spicy pork is underwhelming. The only thing I’ll eat from here is their soondubu jigae and that’s just because sometimes Fort Lee/Edgewater is too far.

A lovely nice little Korean spot on the corner of a street. The food is not the most authentic but it is often good. I’ve come here enough to essentially try everything. The appetizers are all great, with the expect of the takos, but the portions tend to be a bit small for the price. They seem to recently increase the sizes though so I don’t mind it much anymore. Some of the workers there are a bit rude and seem to not be too fond of working there, always grouchy for some reason. Overall, a cute little pricey Korean spot good to try at least once, but there’s better out there

Nice space, good decor and vibes. Got chicken wings and vegetable roll sushi, both tasted nice. Also got loaded kimchi fries, they were a bit soggy, not that good.

Walk-in is feasible for the place. Sushi and chicken wings was good.

Great food, fast service, really cute place!

I wanted to like this place. But. They opened late. Dude had an attitude at opening. Place smelled like cleaning agent. That bleach in the air don't go well with food.

The takos were very mushy. However the meat was tasty. I wish they would be more generous with the meat, when ordering the lunch special. However good meal, just missing some love and care when packaging the food in to-go containers.

I really hate to give bad reviews... But as someone who is married to a Korean and very experienced with the food life and culture, this was the worst Korean food I've ever had. The 참치 김밥 spicy tuna kimbap only had tuna, cucumber and radish in it. If you served this in Korea people would protest. The flavor was boring and lacking filling. I also ordered the 김치볶음밥 kimchi fried rice..it was wet, didn't taste like kimchi, and way too garlicky. It should be the easiest thing to make. I can cook better than that. Lastly, the guys who were manning the store that day were grumpy. If you ask him for something he doesn't even acknowledge you or say anything. The fact that the owners are Korean and serving this type of "Korean" food worries me. We ended up boxing everything and going to a taqueria down the street.

This rating is because the food doesn’t taste good. We got take out, and I would have rather have made instant noodle packets back at home. We also got the Bulgogi with rice that wasn’t good. The spicy tuna sushi was passable.

Have always been pleased with the Bibimbop and tacos and dumplings. Decided to try the Chicken Stir Fry as the description said it comes with vegetables. Turns out all I got was scallions and onions. Even called them as I thought the chef may have forgotten the other vegetables. But they said the dish was made correctly so I guess their meaning of vegetables is scallions and onions. Very disappointed and told them so, and that they should change the description on their website.

Brought my family here on our first trip to NYC. This was the restaurant we chose to go to on our first night in the area after driving for 9 hrs. Ahri's is quiet, clean, and quaint. Our kind and smiling server was efficient and attentive, not overwhelming. We ordered a few different things to share, including bulgogi dupbop, a bulgogi rice roll, a corn dog, dumplings, and shrimp tempura. Everyone loved everything! You set our weekend NYC trip off on the right foot! Thank you so much!

The food was good, fresh, and tasted delicious. After living in Korea for 6+ years and my partner being born and raised there, the standard was pretty high, but we really enjoyed it. They definitely delivered in that aspect. However, the service was definitely lacking. Whereas they were kind and respectful when speaking to us, it was while we were eating or waiting for food that was slightly annoying. We never received individual plates for our starters and no server came to our table after we sat down, so we had to go up to order. The two teenagers working there were loud, disruptive and wouldn’t let a single song play for more than 30 seconds without changing it. I caught myself humming or singing quietly to a song just for it to be cut off abruptly at least six or seven times. They definitely killed any good vibes that were being created by the awesome decor and great location. Maybe hire two workers who aren’t going to flirt and be loud so they don’t disrupt the people trying to eat and enjoy their lunch. At the end of the day, they’re not there for fun, they’re there for work. Thankfully the food more than made up for it. Will definitely be back, but we expect either new servers or better service from the current ones.

Very rude staff. The food was ok but be prepared to be treated with angry staff.

I had a small bug crawling out of the cold tacos that I got, and the plates that we received were barely washed properly. I had to go get water myself and the food itself didn't taste that appetizing at all either. Kimchi is served in a ketchup container. I'm regretting that I paid tips although we didn't get served.

I am literally eating as I write this. I ordered japchae, kimchi (12 oz), bibimbop vegetables & bulgogi and oh my goodness...INCREDIBLE. The kimchi is the best kimchi I have ever had!!! And it was put in a glass container although I doubt it will last very long since I will gobble it up. Even the side veggies were so neatly put in the container and I am just so happy and impressed. Hands down a MUST to try Ahri's Kitchen. Wow incredible

Laid back whole in the wall. Service was quick. Japchae was excellent, kimchi rice was good. The bulgogi bibimbap was OK. Could have been more flavorful.

Good local Korean restaurant with a small but sufficient menu. We ordered BBQ and bibimbap and both were tasty. The owner shared a good story of their family from Korea and old pictures on the wall. I would come back for a quick bite.

A "hole-in-the-wall" place! Unlike many Korean restaurants, where they tend to overuse the spices to a point they overpower the natural taste of key ingredients, the food here appears to reach a good balance among all ingredients, including the spices. This was the case for the ones we tried. The seaweed roll (beef) tasted just like how my mom used to make them -- my mom was an excellent cook. The kimchi fried rice with pork was really a surprise to me -- how mildly kimchi was infused for soft but really tasty treat, not overpowering the whole thing. The homemade dumpling was good in analogously balanced manner. The sauces that came made it even better - the peanut infused (?), low salty soy sauce for the dumpling and the seaweed roll, and the mildly spicy mayo that went well with all three items. Compliments to the chef who appears to have keenly developed sense of taste and craftsmanship!

Had a really nice night at this place! A little small but definitely had a homey feeling. Had nice service from Antonio! He was very friendly! Overall, very pleasant experience!

Obsessed with the kimchi! I have no idea what they put in it that it’s THAT savory but it’s amazing. Hands down the best kimchi I’ve ever had — including when I visit Seoul! ❤️❤️❤️ And I love the bulgogi tofu kimchi jjigae. So yummy and very filling with a very large portion. I’ve only done takeout but the food arrived super hot and amazingly delicious! I definitely want to dine in sometime soon.

Would have been 5 stars but for $3 extra I would’ve expected more meat than this. The bulgogi is mixed into the rice in minuscule shreds. However the taste is amazing and the owner is very nice! I would get the kimchi bowl again but without adding on meat since it really doesn’t add to the meal much

Menu is on the smaller side, but the food is really great. I've had dumplings, ramen, bibimbop, wings, and scallion waffle (a scallion pancake made in a waffle iron) from here and everything has been great. Generous portions, mini bibim dishes are the perfect lunch portion size, great Korean-style wings (could be spicier tbh), great spicy pork and bulgogi beef. Even the order time is really quick and takeout is really easy. Every dish I have gotten takeout comes with Sriracha and kimchi, which are both amazing on their own.

It had been a while since I have been back to Ahri's Kitchen. I have always liked their flavors and inovative Korean style cuisine. One thing that I must commend them for is consistency and the freshness of their food. Give them a shot, you will not be disappointed.

Good authentic Korean food in the middle of Hamilton Park. Bulgogi dupbop and Bulgogi bibimbap were both good. The kimchi fries were a miss for me but I can see people liking it.

I had their tofu bibimbap and it was awesome! Please get their spicy sauce (I think it’s gochujang) - so good! My only complaint is that the bibimbap didn’t have as many vegetables. But will definitely go again!

Food is delicious. Small menu, but korean staples. The place is a bit pricey for the amount of food you get, but korean food in an urban area is traditionally more expensive. Ambiance is pretty low key no frills type place.

Pretty good food with even better service, and all at a great price! I wish the food I had was spicier, but otherwise, I enjoyed myself and will be going for a 4th time. :)

This place is very good for korean food. I've been coming here for 2 years and its moderately priced. The kimchi is good and I always get the rice and meat dishes. The dining area is small so its better for takeout. The owners are very nice and the service is friendly.
