The food is very, very bad and immature, and the taste of the food causes nausea and deafness. I do not recommend going to eat there.

Lamb Shack had great flavor. Meat literally fell off the bone. Rice was ok. Sauce was great. Decent portion

The hummus! OMG, the hummus is fantastic! Also, try the mint lemonade. The sumac chicken was amazing. Definitely coming back.

The warm pita and fresh hummus (we asked for like a spicy chili to add to the humus which was a great addition) was delicious. I had the lentil soup which was as good as the recommendations made it out to be. Had the Sovlaki Chicken which was EXCELLENT - so much flavor! The side of rice was also very good. Highly recommend this place. The last time I ate here- 6 months ago, was also amazing.

We been there couple times the customer service is so bad mostly the female manager was so rude they charged us $10 extra I tried to talked to the owner over the phone they did hang up the phone on me please do not waste your money on them.

It was cozy, the waiter was nice, and I had the best gyro and tiramisu ever, so yeah.

To my surprise it was a better experience than I imagined. The server was very courteous, food was fresh, and restaurant was kept clean. Though a bit overpriced for the type of food served.

I come here often and have never been disappointed. I have been working my way through the menu, and tonight tried the seafood kabob which was absolutely delightful. They have a lot of vegetarian options and a number of gluten friendly/naturally gluten free options. I absolutely recommend Aladdin Cafe!

I am visiting a friend who brought me to Aladdin Cafe for dinner and I'm so glad she did! The seafood kabob was seasoned and cooked wonderfully and the cauliflower appetizer was amazing to share. I look forward to trying other dishes here when I come visit again.

The food here is good however the service is awful! its the same lady every time I come here and she is UNBELIEVABLY slow and i would totally understand if it was busy but we were the only ones there for about half the time. She rarely came to check up. When we sat down she did not ask us what we wanted to drink rather she asked us if we wanted the lemonade or soda to push people into getting a drink which i just find weird i go out to eat all the time and I have never been asked "lemonade or soda" just what drink do you want. She was so slow it was crazy. There was 1 other party when we left and she was just on her phone behind the counter and DID NOT even bring us our bill we had to go up to the table after waiting for so long with our plates stacked up, and when we did she purposely put everything on 1 bill to be lazy when we were lined up IN A SINGLE LINE. then she made us all repeat back to her our orders she had a bit of a tone when this is more of an inconvenience to us than her. 2.6/10 service

Mixed Experience at Alladin Cafe I recently visited Alladin Cafe, drawn in by its rave reviews and the promise of a delightful Mediterranean dining experience. Upon arrival, the cool and inviting ambiance immediately set a positive tone. The decor is chic and modern, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The meal began on a high note with a selection of appetizers that were truly exceptional. Each bite was bursting with flavor, leaving us eager for the main course. However, our enthusiasm waned when the main dishes and the salad arrived. To our surprise, they fell far short of expectations. The flavors were underwhelming, and the dishes lacked the deliciousness we anticipated. Service was another disappointment. Our waitress seemed preoccupied and inattentive. Despite requesting plates, they never arrived, which further dampened our dining experience. Overall, while the appetizers and ambiance were commendable, the main courses and service left much to be desired. It might have been an off day for the restaurant. Based on our experience, I would recommend visiting this place perhaps once, but with tempered expectations.

I love Middle Eastern food and enjoy a number of restaurants, but this is pretty much my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant. They have a nationally recognized and delicious lentil soup, great baba ganoush, good hummus with a green chili sauce, good dolmas (they usually do a red sauce, which is pretty good - their lemon & olive oil dolmas were awesome), etcetera. The Jasmine's Combo is hard to miss. The Cauliflower Zahra is also quite good. Their lentil soup is delicious.  (The only time I have had it not be in decades, was during Ramadan once when things didn't get fully seasoned and it just needed a little salt, generally everything is delicious.) Great options whether you're looking for some veg fare or not. The portions are pretty good, although everything has gotten a little smaller and more expensive in recent years, along with everyone else. The atmosphere isn't anything fancy, but it is pleasant and comfortable, with some interesting decorations and nice light filtering in from large windows. The service has always been friendly and helpful over the years.

Well, I’d like to say the atmosphere was swell. Though the service completely deters that. There are 2 employees one a hostess, the other a server that we had TONIGHT 06/29/24 (managers take a look at who you had on tonight) and prior, a younger female that looks like she would rather be anywhere else than Aladdin cafe and middle aged bald F that make it nearly impossible to be comfortable while being serviced in the restaurant. We kindly asked if we could sit outside (VERY KINDLY) and the response was included with eye rolls and very snarky remarks. We have been attending Aladdin cafe for a long time and the other service workers are excellent and make it a grade A experience each time. No wonder why no one is there on a Saturday night if those 2 are working. It’s a dice roll but hopefully you get the right employees when you get there.

It has been a go to Mediterranean restaurant for our family. Love the food. They have good vegetarian options as well. Very close to KU Medical center.

We found this restaurant on our way during our trip from Seattle to South Carolina. I was looking for gluten-free options on the menu and couldn't find any, which was the only thing that bothered me. But the food was fantastic. I ordered mushroom chicken and my husband had BBQ. The food came very hot and fresh.

Just ordered shawarma and gave in box half pita with few small pieces of chicken and beef. I called to ask what is shawarma then guy with name of Johnathan said I don’t want to talk about any thing as I am done with shift. Totally scammers.

Stopped in Saturday May 25th for a late lunch. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich. It was really good. Atmosphere was nice and quiet. Our waitress may have been new. She didn't seem to understand the menu well. She brought us our food and drink and never returned until we asked for the check. Disappointed in the service but loved the food.

INCREDIBLE FIND on our first time in KC. This food was so good my husband and I barely talked because we just were enjoying our food LOL. Big servings so had a lot of left overs, very reasonably priced, great flavor, great value, and Jonathan our server was so friendly! Lentil soup is truly amazing! Voted one of the BEST plant based restaurants on KC, and I know why, great for vegetarians. I hope you get to enjoy this hidden gem.

I'm so so sorry for not posting this earlier as I thought I had done. This place is nestled on the game 39th Street area of KC near the Kansas border and the area is almost as amazing as the food. I took a group here as we transitioned from an art gallery to a museum. As you walk in you can see the kitchen area to your right and smell the aroma of wonderfulness that will possibly excite your mouth palette. I chose the Aladdin's Gyro Platter but after seeing and smelling the Curry Chicken, I think it would've been a better choice. Don't get me wrong I devoured my meal but the aroma of the curry made my mouth water with every bite others took of their meal. I hope I'm able to go back again with this group or by myself in order to have the Curry Chicken plus maybe a different dish. I have a feeling no matter what's chosen, you won't be disappointed.

This is my second time and I love the food ❤️ . The first time I came the server was amazing. Today I visited with my husband but the server was not attentive . I asked for lemon in our water did not get it and when I asked for lemons with the food I did not get it!!

The Gyro Hummus is incredible, the meat is flavorful & tender. The Petra Platter is also so full of flavor this is some of the best Mediterranean food in KC today

1st time visiting. Read reviews all raves and maybe I got just got to hyped up.. maybe a 4 out 10.. I asked about the white and yellow rice numerous times and in depth... got my order was plain white rice... very disappointed 😞.. We ordered Beef shawarma no grilled veggies with rice The meat kabob combo And for appetizer the combo agrabah. Two people about $75 Taste and texture was not on point.. it was not nearly as flavorful as I expected, very bland. Husband ate just a couple bites of the kabob.. lamb was over cooked and mushy.. The beef shawarma was not very much flavor. And really chewy not tender like the other beef shawarma I have had. Combo app was ok... definitely needs to be served with more pita bread, hummus was just ok, I've had much much better and even some store bought better.. Ended up taking 80% off food home and snagging a snack on they way cause we left hungry and disappointed.. The atmosphere was nice 👌 the waitress was super nice. I do not think this is a place I'd make a 2nd visit too..

Best lentil soup in town. Love all the amazing veggie options here. They have the best baba ganoush and fresh, soft pita bread. The sauces are incredible and nobody makes cauliflower as amazingly delicious as they do!

This place has the best lentil soup you will probably ever have, like seriously the best. I personally love the sumac chicken and the gyro salad. The guys that work there are your typical distant seemingly annoyed workers that you're accustomed to.

Five stars to Ginger/Cinnamon honey tea is $3.50/pot 🔥, Lentil soup is 🔥$4/6 sizes, the female blonde server Jessica was super nice and super attentive, though, to all of her customers five stars for her. Heres where my 4 star review starts fried cauliflower plate was good, priced a bit high at $16.00 in my opinion but im also not a fan of deep fried too wish they air fried it id probably of liked it better dont know if the menu mentioned how it was cooked. Only offers pita falafel sandwiches but has a nice variety of different options. Also priced a bit high at $13 each. Overall, I like it and would come back for tea and lentil soup for sure.

Came here for Thanksgiving. Never been to this restaurant and wasn't sure what to expect. Let me tell you, the waitress was attentive and friendly. The food? Absolutely amazing! We had Gyro hummus and it was incredibly delicious! The meat was so tasty, fresh and hot! The cardamom tea? Fantastic! Best Thanksgiving ever! Incredible experience and most definitely will be back! Best of the middle eastern food

Got takeout, so I couldn't ask where all the missing food was! Most of the food advertised on the "platter" I ordered was substituted with cheap white rice. Dont be fooled by their "healthy" claims. White rice isn't healthy. Will never go back. No vegetables as advertised, no hummus or pita with my takeout order. Seemed like they just rushed it and clearly didnt care.

You have to try this Mediterranean restaurant! Undoubtedly the best I have had outside of the Mediterranean!

I used to be able to call in orders for takeout. But now no answer or I get hung up on. Online ordering hasn’t worked for me either. Are they still open? No idea. It’s a bit of a drive for me so I can’t physically check. If you can get takeout, always check it before leaving. I don’t think we’ve ever had a correct order. However that’s probably a testament to how tasty we think the food is. We keep (trying to) go back even with the service issues. I love their baba and shawarma chicken. Salad dressing is sooo good.
