The food was the worst Middle eastern food I have ever tried. I ordered shawarma with the side of rice. You could extract at least 1 kg of oil from both. And the rice was so chewy, no flavor just oil.

Halal options available. Good Taste. Great Service.

Went to Habashi House located in City Market for lunch. Food was a generous portion size and we received an ample amount of pita bread to accompany the food. The hummus was creamy with a nice touch of acidity and the falafel was moist. Meat was well seasoned and was a pleasure to eat. This is a great fast casual place to get middle eastern food. Parking can be a bit of a pain in this area of town.

Never disappointed we love to stop in at this place in the river market just a few blocks south of downtown Kansas City hotels to pickup various foods on our way home from work.

Spicy hummus is to die for - the family that runs the restaurant also gave us free soup on a very cold day. Great people and great food.

The food was good. The beef shawarma could be much better. The falafel platter was delicious and fresh. We enjoyed the atmosphere and music.

It was amazing! The Habishi House never fails to please. Their rice is wonderful, but the Chicken sandwich (gyro) keeps me coming back!

Lebanese American here, best middle eastern food in KC, hands down. Shawarma combo is my go to. I haven't had falafel as good as theirs outside of Lebanon, and their hummus and baba ganoush are spot on with how my family makes it. Shawarma is spiced perfectly, but I will say the tabbouleh can be hit and miss. Today it was a bit dry (but that seems to be my usual critique about middle eastern restaurants)

chicken beef on rice super tasty - portion was just right for me - smaller for American standard though (2 can share normally) - Mediterranean salad it came with was very yummy - hint vinegary - refreshing

Nice little hole in the wall place for a delicious lunch. The pita is always fresh, the hummus is smooth and tasty, and the chicken curry gyro is really yummy. The staff is always quick, yet friendly. If you go, don't miss out on the baklava.

Sorry but the food was so greasy and bland omg 😳 I gave it to Charlie our dog he liked it I didn't no seasoning no taste no nothing just plain veggies no sauce u can't even taste it but the people there they are sweet but add some flavor to the food like y'all show y'all love 🥰 to each other but until then y'all need some flavor flav of love in the food❣️

Our favorite restaurant in the River Market

Nothing fancy, but so delicious!!! First the free mint tea is the perfect pairing with the meal. My son got the salmon with hummus, this is his first experience with middle eastern cuisine (13m) and he loved it. The hummus is creamy and pairs well with the pita bread. I got the beef swarma, the meat was a bit dry but the falafel was amazing!! Hands down sum of the best I’ve had. We can’t wait to come back!

They have the best gyros, tzatziki sauce, and hummus! Service is always fast and so friendly, it's a lovely family owned restaurant.

Whenever I'm in the river market area around lunchtime, I try and make it to Habashi house. The falafal is some of the best I've had. The falafal with a chicken gyro makes a great lunch.

Please be careful when eating the salad. I accidentally bit down on an olive I didn’t notice when eating the salad and the olive pit actually cracked my previously healthy molar tooth. It couldn’t be saved and I just had to have it surgically removed! Very painful and unpleasant experience and the quote for an implant was around $8000!!! I might just have to live with the gap although this may cause further complications down the road with the surrounding teeth. It’s been a nightmare situation for me personally so I want to put out this notice to please be careful!

Yes, I know there are plenty of great places to eat at City Market, but when I say Habashi House has the best hummus I have ever had, believe it. I am usually my happiest as a foodie when I happen upon a place that is small, fast, and has a lot of passion for the food they make. Everything we ate here was some of the best I have had. The hummus is a must for sure though and you can buy it to go! This is another place where I will return everytime I make back to KC! Enjoy!

We’ve been coming here for years. Always super friendly, and the food is some of the best Middle Eastern cuisine in the KC metro. Nice location too, with plenty of other places to explore in the near vicinity.

Very fast service, especially if you go on during the week. Paid about 12 bucks for a gryo sandwich with a side and they offer free mint tea for customers. Beautiful atmosphere full of middle eastern art.

I've been coming to this restaurant for 17 years and love the food and service. Absolutely no complaints. I tried a new entrée today and was frustrated by the portion size. Not sure if it's the restaurant or bidenomics, but I'll be back and highly recommend!!

This is an enjoyable restaurant with a pleasant service and atmosphere. For $10-$13 a plate they actually have table delivery and give you a free tea, which is pretty nice. Hummus and kebab items are five star dishes, but the salad was a disappointment. It was waterlogged and overloaded with too many banana peppers & vinegar. It has a great vibe and decor. And a picture of me. It can get busy so it might be hard to find a seat from time to time.

Hummus was good. Beef/lamb gyro meat tasted ok, but had the look and texture of packaged lunch meat.

One of the best middle eastern places I ever tried. The highlight is the rice which is one of the best I ever had, it's flavored not just bland white rice you get in many turkish restaurants. Also the beef skewer is exceptional, very succulent. Food get to you very fast!

My friends and I have eaten lunch at Habashi House almost every Saturday since 2010. The beautiful Maisoon Habashi is always smiling when she takes our order. The food is cooked fresh and is the best Middle Eastern food I have eaten in the city. My favorite is Shawarma Hummus, House Combo with Chicken and Pita Kabob, with a side of their hot sauce.

I had the gyro sandwich and salad. Delicious! My buddy had the gyro plate with hummus and he tore thru it, meaning it was really good. I work 2 blocks away and will be going back!

The food is amazing, but what sticks out to me is the patient staff. I wasn't sure what to order. It was my 1st time. They were kind and helpful. They walked me through and answered all my questions with a smile. This is some amazing food.

We love the food from habashi house, and we love the baklava so much that we ordered it for dessert for our wedding. The staff were very responsive to my emails and had the baklava promptly ready for pick-up on the day of the wedding. Our guests raved about it. Best baklava in Kansas City.

This is the place to go if you want amazing hummus! Have had other food here, but return for the hummus! Service has always been top notch and they are receptive to reasonable requests. Atmosphere isn't anything special, but it's clean and it's not like there are exponentially better atmosphere options at the market. Will be back!

I keep coming back to this place because I live in the area and I love this kind of food and I want to love the place too, but other than their hummus and baba ghanouj (both are fabulous) it’s really just OK. I typically love hummus with gyro meat but theirs is that thinly sliced unauthentic kind that you can get at Trader Joe’s and it’s not very good. I ordered it today for lunch and it had some kind of congealed oil on top of it that did not resemble olive oil and was really unappealing. I couldn’t eat it all and I was starving. Also it’s really overpriced. I think $13 for something that mediocre is too much, and I was charged $3 for a side salad that was nothing but a couple of slices of tomato and some iceberg lettuce (mostly the white parts) with no dressing. I hate to leave such a low review because the people are super nice, but the food (other than their dips and sauces) is just not that great for the price.

My family has been coming here for 20+ years. My grandfather immigrated from Palestine and this is where we would take him for great middle eastern food when he'd come to visit. He loved this restaurant and so does my entire family. I recommend getting the combo plate and add a meat. All of their food is fantastic, but the combo plate lets you have a little taste of everything. Very affordable, welcoming family run restaurant.

Great hospitality, clean, and the food was great. Just need to work with tow things the cuisine size is less comparing with the price. And the restroom need more work.

Been going here for years. The best gyros and hummus in the damned world as far as I'm concerned. Absolutely amazing. Update. Been going here the last few months now. They changed the recipe for their gyro. After years and years of something awesome.. it's no longer that. I won't come here until they fix their gyros:(

Phenomenal! I absolutely loved the food. We got chicken/ beef on hummus and loved it! However we did get the gyro meat on hummus and did not love. The menu could use a little more solidifying as I thought I ordered the same thing both times I ordered ( loved it so much the first time had to get some to go) and ended up with the gyro meat. Would recommend to anyone in the area. Wait time for us was a little longer. Maybe 10-15 min, but cooked fresh.

I ate lunch today (July 1st) and I really enjoyed the lunch that I had. I realize that this statement sounds racist however the workers are Mediterranean in their ancestry. This lunch today was fairly inexpensive. They give out water cups and (obviously) they serve water, tea and Coke products. Unfortunately, in April of 2022, parking near the Farmer's Market now costs money (to do so). It's about $2.50 for 2 hours.

I came here for a quick bite, and ordered the chicken sandwich. I waited around 30seconds-1 minute for my food, and the food tasted great. The rice that came with the sandwich was good. The service was good. Will always remember the wait time. If you’re from out of town and looking for some good food, I would recommend Habashi House.

Pretty good, overall. I think Haha has the only real spit and probably the best gyro, maybe tried tied with papu in waldo. For overall, I'd maybe vote baba but this was not really in the running.

Really a 3.5. Cashier was friendly and their hummus is pretty good. Salad was too heavy on the onions. Grilled beef and chicken was good, but pretty small portions for the price. Baklava was a bit on the sweet side, even for baklava. Most of the places at the market were a little underwhelming.
