Alice's Family Restaurant 2781 SE Ocean Blvd., Stuart, FL 34996 1 Star I like road trips because they allow BBDO to expand our reviews to places outside of the Space Coast. This was how I found myself in Stuart, FL, looking for some chow. When I saw the name Alice's Family Restaurant, I immediately thought I was in an Arlo Guthrie song. However, I quickly realized I was still in South Florida as I melted, stepping out of the air-conditioned confines of the Big Boy Mobile. Ashley was my server today, and she was gregarious, professional, and spot-on throughout the meal. I ordered a New York Strip and Eggs with a side of Home Fries and a short stack (2) of Banana Pecan Pancakes. Ashley went to put my order in, so I took a peek around the place. It was clean, bright, and empty! Ashley returned with my foodstuffs, and after taking a few pictures, I grabbed my apparat for sustenance extermination and proceeded to the job at hand. I broke an egg first as I always order them over-medium (which this was not). The New York strip was of the lowest grade possible while still being called food. It was cooked properly, a perfect medium-rare. It was tasteless and chewy and landed on the palate with all the fanfare of grilled shoe leather. The only way to describe what they passed off as Home Fries is to speak directly from the gut. They were disgusting. Mushy, greasy, and presented with all the flavor of the steak, this was a colossal strike-out. Thankfully, I had to move on to the next item on my foodie tour of South Florida. I cut off a forkful of the Banana Pecan Griddle Cake and “in my mouth it went.” This. This was the only reason this slop house isn't a Swill Alert. Not only was the presentation a work of art, but the Johnny cake was perfectly grilled, the bananas freshly sliced, the pecans warmly toasted, and the whipped cream artfully applied. This was a huge step up from the preceding blech. It wouldn't be fair of me if I didn't mention the scuttlebutt going around among the staff. The place was recently purchased (7 months ago or so) and the new owners are in the process of re-working the menu, décor, the whole kit and ca-boodle. If so, I might have to re-try them when they are done. As it stands, Big Boy says, “Anybody who eats this food will appreciate the brighter possibilities of going on a hunger strike for the cause (good food). Brevard County isn't the only place with crappy Breakfast.”

Super fluffy delicious omelette. Our server was friendly and engaging. Good was hot and we will definitely go back.

This used to be our go to place when we had a doctor appointment close. Went for lunch and ended up eating breakfast, An $18+ lunch is just not justified 😢!

Dinner with standard Dinner food. Waitress was in a bad mood that day, or she was from New Jersey. Nothing we had really stood out.

I don't know whether to say that the good is better than the service or the other way around. My food was excellent, but the service was the best of any establishment I've ever visited. Amazingly attentive. I highly recommend Alice's.

We just found this place. We actually liked our breakfast here a lot and more than other places we have tried. Everything was well prepared and the home fries were perfectly cooked. Recommend it.

Staff worked together flawlessly. We both had the stuffed strawberry French toast with bacon. So good.

Me and my family chose to dine outside, and the vibe of the restaurant was very on point, tropical, and friendly. I'd go again. However I'd order something other than the stuffed berry French toast, as it was not fresh fruit, and instead a sort of squishy berry mash i could not finish eating. All the servers were attentive, and the bussers were busy clearing tables for new guests. Highly recommend giving it a shot!

Already paid $17.16 for two eggs, two small strips of bacon, potatoes and a bagel and when I asked for extra cream cheese to go (small prepackaged cups) the owner wanted to charge me $1.50 on my card. REALLY??? backstory: I go out of my way to get breakfast to go here because I like the food, but $17 for breakfast is already wayyy overpriced. Not to mention when I came to pick up I checked the food and it was not what I ordered so I had to wait for it to be corrected, also the last time I ordered the same thing- my bacon was not given to me. Unfortunately I will not be going out of my way to come here anymore and I suggest others don't either! The owner is cheap and has no customer relation skills.

Always good food service is fast and friendly

Alice's restaurant invokes visions of Arlo Guthrie's song, but is in fact a wonderful restaurant that is clearly much better than it's location (in a strip mall) lets on! I have primarily visited for breakfast, although their other meals (yes I looked at the other reviews) seem very worthy. Parking is ample, and there is handicap parking available. Alice's has indoor and outdoor seating, with full service in both. The coffee was hot and the servers pointed to the specials (I recommend trying them as they were incredibly tasty!). Alice's is on the road to Hutchinson Island and a good way to start your beach trip! The servers are good and attentive, and the food was delivered as ordered and pretty quickly.

This the place to come when you need a change of pace from the US-1 eateries. The owner came by and introduced himself and asked if we needed anything. We go there about 6 times a year. The wait staff goes way beyond to be sure you have and get what you need. Breakfast or Lunch you can't go wrong.

We visited this restaurant over the weekend and enjoyed the service and food very much. Also, now I know the lyrics to the song Gloria by Laura Branigan after visiting this establishment. My wife can't stop thinking about the grits.

Everything was great except the Chicken Noodle Soup, it tasted like it was from a can on not home made. Service was great and we got to meet Bruno!

have been going to Alice’s for many years it was a quaint restaurant for locals, but no more! I’m extremally disappointed with the NEW Ownership!! Where do I start a child walking around the tables sell $15 candles, the mother of the child and owners’ wife acting like it no big deal and because says it’s for the Ukraine war, with the husband not saying a word. What happened to not allowing soliciting? Customers want to Eat their breakfast and drink their coffee and start their day. The food is about the same with the crapes still the best in my opinion and the servers are still fantastic, what’s with hats?!!, just hope they don’t lose them! The overall ambience feels nothing a small-town café we all knew! The good thing is Ownership, who has no restaurant experience or very little will not last, lets just hope they don’t ruin Alice’s.

Just drove by the restaurant and turned around, was looking for someplace for breakfast. Glad we stopped, reasonably priced and the food and staff was great.

Had a great breakfast here and they cooked the bacon burnt like I love it! Potato pancakes were very good.

Younger patio server who sat us was nice. However, our actual server had kind of a dry humor and seemed uninterested in being there. Pancakes were bland and hash browns were over fried and too greasy. Disappointed they didn't have a turkey bacon or turkey sausage option like other diners in the area do. Mimosas were the best part and even those were average at best. Did like the fact that there was a kids menu. But overall unimpressed.

I think this place is one of the better places to go for outside dining. We like to go for breakfast. It's always good.

The servers here work hard. Great service, fast and precise. Good food, prices mostly fair. Drinks, juice, milk almost at the price you would pay for a gallon at the store though.

If you ever want a delicious patty melt. This is the place. I have tried their breakfast and the chef salad but i love the patty melt and the waitresses who are always kind. Thanks for the wonderful service. We will see you soon.

This is one of my grandparents favorite breakfast places. While visiting them, during Thanksgiving week, they decided to share with me, the great experience and delicious food that Alice's had to offer. Prior to arriving, they excitedly explained to me that the service there was 2nd to none, and everyone they came into cpntactbthere was super friendly. They were right. We decided to sit on the patio, for breakfast. The patio had fans running, music playing and was a very comfortable environment. While we were enjoying the delicious food, our server was very attentive and made sure my coffee and club soda were topped up, along with my grandfather's decaf. In addition the the great service, though, we also had extremely friendly servers and the owner even came out and greeted us, and we all chatted for a few minutes. I have to say even if the food hadn't been great, the experience provided was so nice, warm and welcoming, it would have been enjoyable. To our benefit, though, the food was also great. I would highly recommend Alice's, if you're in Stuart and looking for either a breakfast or lunch place. They close at 2pm, though, so get there early!
