We got on the virtual wait list from our hotel and then wandered around downtown until we got a text that our table was ready. Our server was knowledgeable about the food and drink menu and made great recommendations. The food came out promptly and was hot and delicious. Authentic German and Austrian food. Highly recommended!

I should have skipped the real food and just had apple strudel for dinner. It was that good! All the meals we had at our table of six were just outstanding. Probably a good thing I don’t live closer lol. Wait staff was on top of the gs during our entire meal and it was pretty busy.

For some reason, the schnitzel is 3 dollars extra if you want it breaded. I'm pretty sure traditional schnitzel is breaded and this place presents itself as traditional. I don't see how that merits an additional charge. I therefore cannot give it 5 stars. Otherwise, everything was delicious and the service was grand.

Andreas Keller offers a wonderful experience with its live music and cozy atmosphere—definitely deserving of 5 stars in that regard. The ambiance truly brings a unique charm to the dining experience. However, the service was a bit mixed. While the servers were friendly, they seemed quite busy, which slightly affected the attention given to each table. I’d rate the service at 4 stars for their effort despite the busyness. The real letdown was the pork hock. It was extremely dry on the inside, while the deep-frying left it hard and oily on the outside—I'd give it just 1 star. The accompanying potatoes weren't crispy as expected, though they tasted fine. If you visit, I would recommend trying something else on the menu. Overall, it’s a great place for the ambiance, but I’d suggest skipping the pork hock.

A recommendation I found online brought our group of 10 here for dinner on the first night. The wait wasn't too long as we used the waitlist on open table - about an hour or so on a Friday night. They have two large tables tucked in the back of the restaurant. Really enjoyed the Dunkles beer and the schnitzel cordon bleu. Thanks for a wonderful evening and really enjoyed the accordion player.

A German restaurant with a very German atmosphere. A must-eat is the German pork trotters! But the skin of the pig's feet is super hard and tastes like lard. But the meat is soft and tender, and it goes well with sauerkraut and honey mustard sauce! Overall good 👍

Pretty good Sahne sauce, but when I roll in and you act like the year is 2050, charging $6 for a fountain coke, that’s a problem. Edit: In response to the owners reply. I was at your establishment last summer. Is your defense mechanism to think that I never was there? You charge $6 for a coke and that is SAD and price gouging.

This place is really cute. We wanted a real Dutch experience, so this was our first stop in Leavenworth. I was a little disappointed in the pretzel, shocking, I know. The food was fairly good overall. The one thing I wasn’t happy about though, was getting the text message that our table was About to be ready and then having to wait for a half an hour after we got to the restaurant. They seated a lot of people in front of us, which was a bit confusing. I asked the hosts, but they seemed really flustered and couldn’t give me a very good answer. It was extremely crowded, so I would’ve rather stayed outside for a half an hour then sit there and wait that entire time.

Make sure to call well ahead of time because the wait can be quite long but they have a great system and it's worth it! They texted us a link for the waitlist and we were able to explore Leavenworth and check up on where we were on the list. They texted us when we were near the top of the list. Make sure to order a giant pretzel to share. We tried it with the cheese sauce - it was like a fondue sauce. The beef goulash tastes home made and it really was tender! The spatzle also delicious. The live music was a guy playing the accordion and it made for a lively atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and the service was good. Visited 26 December 2017.

My wife and I have went to this resturaunt over the past few years since 2012. Sadly it has lost our interest as a good place to eat quality German food. Our pretzel was dry and flavorless without the mustard sauce to dip it in. The red cabbage and the spatzle with the schnitzel were a hot mess. Poor presentation, mediocre overall service, food, and atmosphere all at a premium price. I hope others have a better experience.

I’m sad to see that this establishment is currently temporarily closed. I wanted to leave a review nonetheless. Back in 2011 we took our young sons to Leavenworth right before Christmas on a little vacation. I remember a lot of great times and all and super love family memories. But my tastebuds override things I can’t control. I hate living 4+hours away, because that meat+noodles+red cabbage meal has stuck with me as one of the top 5 best things I’ve ever tasted in my now 43 years of life. I’ve tried making it myself but it’s like eating play dough in comparison. If I ever make it back to Leavenworth, this place will be why. I don’t have pictures to share but I remember the waiters and waitresses dressed up in German clothes and the accordion player. The atmosphere was so unique. I would love to revisit again!!

This basement level restaurant is hard to get into, as judged by the 90-minute wait for a dinner table at 5:15 on New Year's Day. I did appreciate that they kept an online waitlist, which allowed us to roam the town and find another busy restaurant for dinner. We returned the next day for lunch and waited a few minutes for a table due to a staff shortage. Food is tasty and typically heavy German. We enjoyed the Kassler Kottlet, a big fatty pork chop with a side of sauerkraut, and the schnitzel. My kids loved the fries. Understaffed like seemingly every restaurant in Leavenworth, but thankfully the servers were friendly and efficient.

This place will tend to make believe that you are a Bavarian Bratwurst House until you have to pay the bill. There were four of us and we had to wait for hours to eat at this place. The day before we were even kicked out of the waiting list. Menu choices have a variety of selections but once again, the prices are such that you think you are getting a filet mignon at a super steak house!! All we ate were pretzels and sausages with and piece of breaded pork with drinks. The food taste was not anything to talk about. Our bill was ready.....$200 for four people, Are they kidding?? This is what I call a super expensive meal that should have been maybe $80 at best but since this is the perfect tourist trap, it works out for them extremely well. Our waitress came to see us when she took the order and when she was handing us the bill, never a stop to see if we needed extra water or an extra coke. I suppose the location allows them to over price and abuse the system. Did it once, not ever doing it again.

Worse service I had. The waiter is very arrogant and ignorant. And when it is the time for check, the waiter has the table tied to her hand, and stare at me for tips. I still give 15%, due to the pressure. She is very inpatient, when I click custom tip and type 15% in her hand tablet. The food is not bad, but not good. I would say the best food I had is the pretzel, taste good. The pork hock taste ok, but the cabbage and potatoes with it taste very bad. We also ordered the sampler, I would say it is better than grocery sausage, but it is just not bad, but not good as well. Will never come here again, due to the service I received

Got the breaded chicken with ham (katsu style), and the giant pickle, and the pretzel with the cheesy dip. It was not bad...but just not special.. especially having to wait 1.5 hrs..good ambiance but not worth the hype imo. Luckily we put our names on the wait-list as we walked around at 3pm so by 5, we were already eating! Came outside and the lights were beautiful! 💕Let me tell you, park at the transit parking across the street. We waited for about 15-20 minutes and got a parking. We were planning for a short trip to Leavenworth and fell for the positive reviews for Andreas Keller Restaurant, thinking that it is a must visit restaurant. We tried reserving a table online in vain, and then tried going in person. We stopped by the restaurant on the first day we got to Leavenworth and were told at around 5:00pm they wouldn't have a table until 10:00pm or after, and were told we could try the next day, because they have a waitlist that starts at 11:30am daily. We tried calling right after 11:30am the next day, but nobody picked up the phone. The voicemail said somebody would call us back if we leave a message. We did that but received no calls. We went to the restaurant in person around 2:30pm, and was told that they haven't been listening to the messages at all. We put our name down on the waitlist then, and we got a message around 8:15pm that we had a table. It was a very long wait, but would have been worth it if the food was any good. IT WAS AWFUL. We ordered the Schweinshaxe (pork hock) $48.99, the Kassler Kottlets (thick cut pork chop) $22.99 and the Chicken Oktoberfest (rotisserie chicken) $22.99 to share. The pork hock and the pork chops tasted like they had been used to boil for broth, and had no taste. The skin on the pork hock was hard but not crispy. It was impossible to cut or to chew. It was served with mustard, not gravy. We stopped by a grocery store later and saw fully cooked pork chops that looked exactly like what we had just eaten selling for $6.99. The chicken, on a relative scale, was less disappointing, but any Costco rotisserie chicken beats it hands down. The only thing that is decent is the sauerkraut. One star for that and for that only. There was live music performing the whole time we were there. It was nice in the beginning, but when it is so loud and basically playing non-stop for the whole time, it did get overwhelming. It would have been better if the live music comes on every half an hour or every 15 minutes instead of being non-stop. We did appreciate the effort, the setup of the tables (booths look like wine barrels), and the fact the servers were wearing traditional style clothing, hence the three stars for "atmosphere". It took a lot of effort and time to get a table. The server did try her best despite her being visibly worn out, and that's what caused me to give the three stars over the "service". I rarely leave reviews for any restaurants. I do this as a public service to warn others to not fall for the hype and pay for an expensive and unsatisfying meal. The meals in Leavenworth are in general pricier and we understand that it is to be expected in a touristy town, but do not waste your precious time waiting for a table in this restaurant.

Such a lie, overexaggerated!! We went for a walk, received a text in less than 30mins, we got a table. There were also 2 long rectangular tables unoccupied for some time. Food arrived, the portions were huge but the hock was dry and had been sitting in the kitchen for a while and schnitzel were super dry and extra thinly sliced. If there weren't Xmas lights, this town would be dead. They're lucky to be located in prime location, definitely not worth the money and definitely a tourist trap.

To be honest, I think this place is overrated. I think it’s main selling point is the atmosphere and live music. The food is just okay, especially given the prices. The wait time was an hour and 30 minutes, which made me think this place was fantastic. Once we arrived, we ordered the Kassler Kottlets, the Cordon Bleu Schnitzel, and a glass of the Oktoberfrest. The beer was good. No complaints there and what you’d expect from a classic amber. The food was decent, but not $30 decent. The Cordon Bleu Schnitzel was nicely fried, went well with the stuffed cheese, and topped with light-tasting gravy. The potato salad was also good and reminded me of a light mac and cheese without the cheesiness. A good dish on the lighter flavor profile side, but I enjoyed it. Skip the Kassler Koutlets. Might just be the style of food but the pork chops had little seasoning, and even with the mustard, the entire dish left a lot to be desired. Overall, I think you are basically coming here for the atmosphere. If you want cheap and good food & beer, I would recommend other places in this area like Muchen Haus. Service is also a lot faster and we didn’t have to wait almost two hours to get a table.

A rude group of 10+ people lied to the hostess and got seated way ahead of everyone else because they claimed their group shrunk, then like 10 more people showed up to force themselves in at the table. Great vibes and food! I got the cordon bleu schnitzel and apple strudel. Highly recommend both! Though expensive, it was worth the try. Definitely call ahead to make a reservation; it gets very crowded very fast. Also, it can get a bit musty inside since it's a basement level restaurant.

Like much of Leavenworth, I feel Andreas Keller is a tourist trap. Two sub-par schnitzel entrees and a beer brought the total to over $100. The staff left a lot to be desired in terms of service to make up for the raised prices. I was impressed to get a table with minimal wait as a walk in customer in an otherwise very busy town on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

It’s the restaurants that the tourists seem to flock to, so I thought I would give it try to find a perfect schnitzel. Plus the advertised live music, which is an accordion player. Had the classic pork schnitzel. I was very underwhelmed, and I am not a fan of deep fried schnitzel versus fried in oil. Very thin portion with ICE COLD German potato salad. Over priced in comparison to other German restaurants in town as well. $13 for a pint? But if you are the trap, people will come.

The pork hock skin is too hard to chew. Even cannot be separated by knives….. overall fine, not that impressive. Beer is good though.

The most popular restaurant in Leavenworth with authentic German food. You will need to line up 30 minutes before it opens for lunch for any hope of getting on the waiting list for the day.

Service and atmosphere are really good. However the pork hock is not tasty for us, too much original flavor left, super difficult to cut. Sausage is better, can give it a try. Non-alcoholic drink tastes good if you like soda and sweet. If you still want to try, make sure you join waitlist. We join waitlist 1pm and get our turn around 6pm, which is exact time we need.

We came here for Thanksgiving, and they were so busy. It was a bit of a wait because it was Thanksgiving and one of the few places in town open. They have an online queue, so that was awesome. We got to just shop and enjoy the town and still see our place in line. The food was so good, everything was so flavorful and savory. The live music was amazing. We sat right next to the accordion player and had an awesome time. He played and sang everything from Xmas songs to traditional German songs in fluent German. Our server was awesome, I wish I could remember her name. She had clearly been running like crazy all day because it was Thanksgiving and yet still took the time to not only get all our orders right, keep our drinks full and she also made time to chat and make sure we were enjoying our food and our time. Her drink recommendations were spot on. We will definitely be back to this amazing location.

My experience at Andreas Keller Restaurant was absolutely delightful! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff was incredibly attentive, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring every detail was taken care of. The menu offered a diverse range of dishes, each a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. I tried the Chef's Special, and it exceeded all expectations - a perfect blend of textures and tastes. The ingredients were fresh, and it was evident that the chef prioritizes quality. From Viridiana Monteleone

This place will always have a special place in my heart. I always go for the goulash or their jagerschnitzel with cold German potato salad and red cabbage. Their pretzels and the kids love their cheese sauce it’s just absolutely warming! Don’t forget a nice cold beer!

The pork hock is big and roasted until crispy. We had a party of three and we shared it. I ate the crispy skin and fatty parts with sauerkraut, while lean meat with the mustard sauce. It has a nice Bavarian style. The staff are also very friendly. Great experience.

Boyfriend and I really enjoyed the German food here! He ordered the sausage platter and said each one was very tasty. I had the fried schnitzel with mushroom gravy - wow! We also had the soup which had sauerkraut and shockingly was not too vinegary. I would recommend all visit this place while in town.

Unfortunately, best part of this restaurant really was just the atmosphere. We come to Leavenworth yearly and had not tried Andreas Keller until this past Wednesday. We've had a chance to try many other restaurants in Leavenworth and found ourselves extremely underwhelmed by our visit to Andreas Keller. The food was overpriced and mediocre at best, go down the street in either direction and you'll easily find restaurants with german fare, less of a wait and half the price. We really wanted to like this place and we were very excited for our visit, but left extremely disappointed in everything but the atmosphere inside.

The Schweinshaxe (pork hock) was delicious (juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside). I love the red cabbage, sauerkraut and potatoes it came with. It was the perfect amount of food for 2 people.

We came to Leavenworth for the lights and an authentic Deutsche meal. On our first night we completely missed the mark on the food at another eatery. At Andreas Keller you get everything you could want from Atmosphere, attentive and caring staff and most of all food. I worked in the industry for decades and you no doubt get efficiency but not sacrificing flavour or quality. We had the Schnitzel and the Sampler Platter both excellent. Schnitzel was hot, crispy, light and the sides were also good eapecially the freshly made spaetzle. The kassler on the sampler platter was not overly salty at all and slightly smoky. The black forest cake was not cloyingly sweet or heavy and it was a huge piece of cake!( enough for 2) The strudel was was served piping hot and was also delicious. If you want an authentic German food made properly, with quality ingredients, in a friendly, casual atmosphere you will not be disappointed.
