I'm rarely disappointed with anything I eat at Apple Barrel. I especially love the pie special after my meal.

Wonderful store with so many items! If you need a gift or just something fun, this is the place to go. Rooms and rooms of interesting items. Don’t forget the clearance section upstairs! While you’re there, enjoy a delicious lunch!

Today, The Apple Barrel prepared a wonder luncheon for The Old Stone Fort. Beatiful presentation, delicious food, and the staff was so very accommodating. I can not say enough good things about our total experience with the restaurant!

This is my special place to meet with friends for lunch, we have never been disappointed, food is always fresh and delicious, very friendly staff. Do some shopping when there, you can always find a gift or funny card there.

This review is long overdue! We LOVE eating at the cafe! The quality of the food and the service is better than many "fine dining" places in the Capital District! Every waitress has now become a friend. They remember our orders and ALWAYS have a smile on their faces! The food is simply delicious and is always of the highest quality, regardless of what you order. The store is so relaxing to walk around and browse - we always find something to buy as a gift or for our home. One of our favorite businesses ever! The management must be excellent because it radiates throughout the store and cafe.

Under staffed but pleasant. I enjoyed wandering around but didn't make a purchase. I may return for a wind chime!

Food is delicious and the menu has a great variety. Looking forward to dining outside when the weather is good. Visit the gift shop with a large variety of items as well.

The St Paddy's Day dinner was wonderful! The wait staff were awesome as always! You should make reservations for their events. It would be well worth it! I had the Bangers & Mash, yummmm!

My family and I had such a pleasant lunch experience at The Apple Barrel Store + Cafe this past weekend. We met some friends at the cafe, which is the perfect halfway point for us to meet. The delicious food, delightful service, and overall atmosphere was quite pleasant and enjoyable. We enjoyed the mimosa and beer selection, plus the daily specials. The store was an extra treat to look through. We will definitely be back! Maddie/Maddy was our waitress, she was exceptional! She was very accommodating and helpful toward us, and our young children.

Great little store for your seasonal needs and home items for decorating. Amazing cafe with lunch and dinner. Very friendly and local family run. Had a German dinner tonight and it was amazing. Highly recommend it if you get a chance to eat there.

Bought an “apple crumb” pie on 1/26 for a birthday party for just about $18. It was absolutely awful! The bottom crust was raw, the apple filling was pasty and tasteless, and the “crumb” topping was non-existent. I have purchased pies from the Apple Barrel before and they have been delicious, but this time was a huge disappointment! (I am aware that they do not bake them there.)

This is a lovely store where you can browse and have a bite to eat, but the merchandise is overpriced, and things that I like rarely are reduced .

We had a delicious lunch here today. Everything is homemade and the service is excellent. Great value too. I had the open-face chicken salad sandwich with fresh apple slices and melted Swiss cheese on top. Delish! My guest had the roasted vegetable and cheese grilled panini sandwich, which he pronounced as "Perfect!" Both sandwiches came with the yummiest home-made potato chips! Do we recommend the food here? Absolutely!

Absolutely the best dining experience for lunch or dinner. I've never looked into breakfast but if they serve it, it's good! I don't know where they found they're chefs but they know what they're doing. And the wait staff are all outstanding!

The food is AMAZING! The dining area is small and it's quite popular. We had a half hour wait for a party of seven for lunch on a Saturday, so get there early :)

Lovely cafe with a nice size menu. Tight space to enter but well worth it. The staff was fantastic my elderly dad had many food requests which were met with a smile and a willingness to assist him which is a rare trait which I am most grateful for. The food was delicious and it was a great experience out on the back roads in the beautiful countryside of midstate NY. When back in the area I look forward to my next meal there. The store was jam packed prices seemed high interesting selection.

Came to the cafe for lunch. They allow dogs outside on the deck which is nice. So was able to bring mine. Got the bruschetta appetizer and the apple chicken open sandwich. Both were amazing and really good. The chips are homemade and good too. Also, got the homemade blueberry mint lemonade which was amazing. Service was quick and friendly and definitely recommend coming here. The pricing was decent was around $50 for 2 lunch entrees and an appetizer with drinks.

The best hidden gem!! Our family stopped in for lunch on our way to the caves and had the best experience. We were instantly greeted with smiles as we were seated to our table. The sangria was delicious as were their fresh brewed iced teas with additional add on flavors ( my daughter got raspberry/peach… yum!) The lobster/shrimp soup was creamy and delicious as was the fish and chips special, cooked to perfection. The Sunshine club sandwich and Revolutionary Waldorf wrap were too good to put down to take a sip of any beverage. And the key lime pie…. Chefs kiss…. Yummy! Hands down 10 out of 10 recommend if anyone is remotely close to this area to please stop in and enjoy a meal you won’t regret and then shop at their store after for cute merch!

We had a great lunch. Cheyenne served us nicely. 8-23-2023, we stopped again and had a wonderful lunch of Cobb and mandarin salads.

Cute gift shop and the food is good, I ordered the chicken club, very tasty with the homemade chips, she ordered Johnny apple chicken and blue cheese, she loved every bite. It was a little busy when we got there but the service was good, remaining menu items looked delicious, my only concern is they run out too soon of the wonderful home made soups and the best of their home made deserts so if you come here come early, the locals scoop up the best fast.

Stopped in for lunch on the road and loved this gem! The Greek goddess and Revolutionary Waldorf wraps were both delightful - everything was very fresh. Broccoli cheddar soup was tasty and the chicken fingers are officially kid approved. Well worth the stop!

This place never changes the food is fantastic and the portions are great. The staff is friendly and warm they make you feel at home. Everytime we go we love it more and more! It's our go to place for a fabulous lunch!

Great environment and awesome food

Always a great place to eat. The menu is fantastic and the attached store is great to browse through. Seasonally, they have fresh flowers, herbs, veggie plants. My only ONLY complaint is that their team's understanding of policy isn't cohesive and should be better aligned. Our goal was to go the Saturday before mothers day, I called to ask about reservations or a wait list. Left a voicemail. A day later someone called me to say they don't take reservations and don't do call-ahead, it's just first-come-first-served. A day after that someone else called again (I guess the first person didnt communicate that they had reached me already?) to say they dont take reservations but that I should call ahead the day of. The day of, I called ahead and talked to a 3rd person who told me they don't take call-aheads. 3 different people, 2 different takes on the policy. We arrived and I went back to secure a table, I asked for a table on the deck and 2 people (none of whom I had talked to previously) told me they could give us the open table but we had to remain aware of the time becuase in 2.5 hours thst table would be needed for someone who had..... a reservation. In the end it worked out fine for us. Our experiences with dining, service, and atmosphere were great. But the takeaway is that a formal policy needs to be put in place and everyone needs to be aware of it.

Great place to have lunch outside along with my dog Wyatt. The folks that work there are so accommodating, friendly, and love Wyatt too! ❤️ Of course I'll be back. Great menu and good food!

Beautiful flowers It's a bit pricey all around Cute place Staff was wonderful very friendly and helpful Food tasted great Only small complaint, I'm not sure if they dry their dishes by hand, but there was like high-quality paper towel fuzz covering every edge of the dishes. All in all, the place was really decent, clean, the staff was amazing and attentive, the food was great, and the drinks were good. Atmosphere was also very nice.

My friend and I are frequent visitors. We meet here for long lunches. One of us from the Glens Falls region, the other from the Binghamton area. The shop has all kinds of wonderful things to purchase and the cafe has all kinds of delicious things to eat. Late Spring to early Fall, there is a shaded deck to sit on.

This store has some beautiful things, but it's very pricey.

After three days on the road I really needed a good, local meal and The Apple Barrel delivered! Delicious, fresh, interesting recipes and a great beer selection. The attached store has a great selection of food and gifts. Well worth the detour if you're in the area

We had the pleasure of visiting this special little cafe and shoppe! We were meeting our granddaughter who goes to college close by. We had and amazing visit and delicious lunch. Our waitress was awesome but I forgot her name (oops)! Food was great as was every thing about the Apple Barrel! What a special little gem of a place. Highly recommend for anyone passing through! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

My wife and I love this place but got very disappointed yesterday when we went there. We have been there three times already and always speak highly of it and recommend it when people come to visit. Yesterday we went there with a friend who is visiting from Florida, we live in the catskills area and got there around 3:30. We checked the restaurant times and even on the door of the store front has the hours posted. The waitress told us when we got to the restaurant , that we would have to wait for food till 4:30-5 to get food so they could switch from lunch to dinner. I have never heard of a restaurant not accepting custers so they could switch from lunch to dinner. If this is something the restaurant does normally then they need have that posted and also turn the signs around from open to closed.

Delicious food. Large selection of beverages, non-alcohol and alcohol. Latte's are made to perfection! Friendly staff and welcoming environment. Must try!

I didn't eat at the Cafe but the store was great! Lots of very local stuff, cute things for the home, a huge holiday selection. A great place for gifts or tchotchkes, especially specific to the Schoharie region.

I had a bowl of the tomato soup, it was perfectly delightful it had nice chunks of tomato and NO SEEDS I mean not a one. We had the fish for the entree mine with onion rings and one order with fries. The fish is by far best In the surrounding areas restaurants. I have done many taste tests of the restaurants who offer it as a special. this takes the gold. The onion rings are perfect as well and a bit spicy on their own but wonderful with the horseradish sauce that come with them. The store has great unique little gifts as well.. Happy dining

Loved the store. They had quite a selection of things to choose from. Bobs barn was very interesting. Grabbed a burger from the Cafe and it was very good and cooked exactly how I wanted. Kat was wonderful and even though they were extremely busy stayed on top of all of our tables needs.

This is my absolute favorite place to go in the county. Josh and his staff are wonderful people, and the food is amazing.
