Delicious arepas and friendly staff

Too slow. Ordered tequeños arepa and two drinks. My tequeños were delivered but my arepa was never delivered to my table after 1 hour wait I asked for a refund. The staff never checked in on me, and I saw the whole kitchen staff go on lunch. I wonder what tipping is for if they don’t provide service? Obtained a full refund but that’s not what I came for.

My experience here was a good one. Good food and reasonably priced. Service was also good.

The cachapa with pork has nothing to do with it, that is not cachapa and they give you baked pork!! All tasteless, I don't recommend it.

I got the chiquita arepa. It was good but the service took longer than expected. The restaurant itself was very nice. Some of the most legit Venezuelan food i’ve had in Seattle

I hired them for a party at my house. They provided guidance to select the amount and type of food for the number of guests I was expecting. They delivered the food on time and in perfect containers. Everything was delicious. I ordered: carne mechada, pollo mechado, pastelitos de carne, empanadas de queso y pollo, arepas, tequeños and white cheese. The quality and amount of food is way better than other similar caterers. We’ll hire them again.

Food is usually good, pretty expensive but if you want an arepa it’s good. These guys told me my order would be ready in 20, I showed up and had to wait almost 20 minutes additionally to get the food, I didn’t want to have to sit in a restaurant. No apology (don’t need one but..) “the system is always wrong” well then why not tell me so I have to wait boooo

The proper original arepa rellena from the South American friends. A tasteful treat not only in size but in flavor. Every time we go, it never disappoints.

A University District gem! Came here for the first time recently and was blown away. The food is delicious and they were very accommodating to customizing my vegetarian order. Will definitely be coming back again soon!

The food was not very good. Also, I chose to eat outside because it was way cooler outside than inside. Lastly, they have a sign on the tables saying "buzz your own table." I am venezuelan and my homemade food is better.

I loved the arepas at this place, I was going from Kirkland to buy, I hadn't gone for a while and today when I went I was surprised that the customer service is not the same, the arepa dough is super ugly with a hard texture of The edges of the meat don't taste the same as before and the tostones are completely stiff, they look like a stone. I really don't recommend this place at all. Antea was super delicious, everything is not anymore nowadays!!!!!!!!

They need a parking lot, it's horrible trying to get there and having to travel almost all of Seattle to get parking.

This is a great little spot with fantastic service and a good selection of food. I very highly recommend the plantain filling, and making sure you try all of the sauces they have.

They lost the seasoning, the meat and chicken lack more flavor, and the empanda is super hot and the meat frozen inside, very nice place and Venezuelan things, but the food lacks a lot of seasoning.

Located on a side street, sharing a bathroom with the Grand Illusion Cinema. Interesting menu, with many unique dishes, possibly worth trying. Food is cooked to order. The steak salad was great, with lots of greens and meat but the Patacon sandwich was just okay. The filling was very good but the plantain wrap was dry and just didn't work for me. The place is clean and well lit.

Delicious fresh food at a decent price. The staff were helpful and friendly. The place also seemd clean and well cared for! The outdoor sitting area was a really nice touch.

It is my second time at this restaurant with my family. I've tried their arepas de reina pepiada and pabellón before. Their empanadas are great, but the guava tequeños stole my heart. I ordered a few more to fry them at home. The owner takes a lot of pride and care with all the customers and came to say hi to the family. Their homemade salsa bar is out of this world. I'm not from Venezuela, but this place makes me feel right at home, like I'm back in my hometown in Puerto Rico. I would rate this place with 10 stars if I could.

The Arepa Reina pipiada was delicious! Would definitely return. Was flavorful and tasted freshly made. They have a variety of sauces, and my favorite one was the Cilantro mayo. Tried the guava and cheese tequeños as well, and I'm glad the order had five of them because one is not enough to satisfy yourself.

I wish more people knew about arepas, because this place is excellent! Everything I've had here is flavorful. And if you somehow don't have enough flavor, there are 6 different sauces you can add to anything for free! Definitely give this place a shot if you haven't before.

Had to wait for over an hour for the food, seems like their kitchen is just not big enough to support the orders. Expect extremely long waits if you plan to visit.

Super disappointed ! First time trying this place and it’s so cute but the absolute worst arepas I’ve ever had. I ordered a chicken arepa and they DROWNED the chicken in mayo. It was disgusting and my stomach hurts. Absolutely no flavor at all.

The people here are great! Sandwiches were a bit dry and could’ve done with a bit more salt (or maybe I’m just uncultured), however when drizzled with the 4 different types of sauces they have in the back, it makes for an amazing meal!

Literally the worst arepas I've ever had in my life. The meat tastes like it was boiled and shredded with zero spices. Absolutely disgusting. How this place has a 4.7 is beyond me. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Update: prices have gone up since I last went. Still a good deal. Excellent service. Fast. Informal setting great for a quick bite. All the ingredients taste so fresh and simple.

Lately quality of Arepa has gone down. It's Bad. Like really. It was my go to place bellevue and udistrict. Yesterday we ate Chica and #7 plantain and yucca, arepa combo. Taste was okay. Plantains was a little worse. My husband got diarrhea and I got celiac disease. I am not allergic to gluten. But there was food poisoning. 😕 I didn't take any pictures since I come here every weekend. The Mango lemonade Is not what it used to be. They usually ask how it was. Wait time was insanely long this time around 30 mins. Usually it's pretty early. That totally okay. But food quality is what I am extremely disappointed with. 🤒

It’s been a long time since I tried such delicious Venezuelan food, I’m very happy with this place I would definitely recommend trying them! Tasting the food felt like I went to a small trip to Venezuela, a lot of flavor, great quality and also the preparation of these foods! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

The arepas have a lot of filling, the empanadas are tasty and fresh and the tequeños are ok. The service is good and the staff are very nice and attentive. The restaurant is small but cozy, and the prices are fine.

My fav is the pabellon arepa and I like the self serve bar on the side with sauces.

There is a familial warmth here that is just wonderful. An intimate, quaint, non corporate family owned and operated little haunt that is akin to being a guest in someone's home. The food is absolutely delicious and everybody we met here is so friendly.

Delicious food. Went on a rainy day and it didn’t quite fit… it was still delicious but I think arepas are a warm sunny day type of meal.

Arepa VK is authentic Venezuelan food in Seattle! We had the empanadas, tequeños, and mini arepitas which were all very good. The meat filling in the empanadas was very good and flavorful. I also love that they have a self-serve sauce bar so you can stock up on as much sauce as you need for your order. Will definitely be returning when we crave a piece of home.

The food was amazing, everything was so DELICIOUS. We tried the pabellón arepa, the pabellón plate, tequeños, fried yucca, tres leches cake, and coconut flan. All very rich.

The empanadas and arepas are delicious, my favorite being the pavilion in both versions. Very good attention. 100% a place to visit and try their different flavors of arepas, empanadas, tequeños!

Highly recommend. Delicious food! Many vegetarian options available! On the recommendation of staff, I got a #4 with avocado instead of meat and got light cheese. Plantains were MOUTHWATERING. Customer service was amazing as well! We will be coming back.

Had my first ever arepa here in college and that was the first of many return visits! I always think of this place despite having moved away and stop by when I visit. That’s how good it is :)

First time eating areaps and it was a great experience. The gentleman helped us order and we got a bunch of vegetarian and pork arepas. They have a large selection of dips as well, the bacon sauce was delicious. Will seek out more Venezuelan food soon 😁 Ps: they packed some hot sauce as well for us and they have some fresh fruit juice - we tried guava and another tropical fruit that I forgot, very refreshing.

This is one of the best Venezuelan restaurants in the the state no questions asked. Food is good and it feels like you are in an actual Venezuelan restaurant in Venezuela 😅. Would recommend you buy the candy too.

I have ordered catering from Arepa on several occasions: for church functions, school lunches or dinners, team meals, etc., and each and every time, it is absolutely delicious. My favorite is the chicken Pabellón Criollo. I highly recommend for ANY type of team lunch or dinner. It'll be a nice change from the same old, and it will undoubtedly impress your teammates or colleagues. If you haven't tried Venezuelan food, it's so much more substance than your average "bowl." Their beans are plant-based, which means they do not use pork fat or products, an added plus for those who are vegetarian or vegan on your team.

The arepas from this place are delicious! It's pricey but very filling, so it's worth it if you have the money to pay for it. The staff are polite, the wait can be a bit long though. They also have various sodas from different Latin American countries, in case you want to try that. They also have an unlimited sauce bar in the back of the restaurant, which pairs well with the arepas!

While in Seattle yesterday I was craving true Venezuelan food. Arepa, the name of a Venezuelan staple food Venezuelan corn patty, is family owned and operated. I ordered my favorite, the pabellón, a mixed plate of pulled beef with a savory sauce, black beans and rice, and fried plantains. I also ordered fried yuca accompanied by a delicious garlic sauce that’s made fresh at there. The restaurant is a reflection of the community it serves, students, families and locals who enjoy good food that’s inexpensive. The service is fast, efficient and above all friendly! I’ll be there next time I’m in Seattle

This place was excellent and authentic. It made me feel like I was back at home. If you are ever curious or feeling nostalgic about the food from Venezuela and find yourself in the Seattle area, I recommend visiting this place. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I ordered the combo with the Tequeños and Pelua Arepa (Cheese and Shredded Beef), and let me tell you... I was pleasantly surprised, the food was fresh, and portions were substantial while keeping prices very reasonable.

It was our first time trying Venezuelan food and we were so happy we found this place! We ordered chicken arepas and noticed they didn’t have a kid’s menu, but one of the girls named Isa was so nice, that she made a baby size arepa for my toddler, which by the way, she loved! Everything is made from scratch and they have a salsa bar. We loved the ambience, service, and price for food. We will be coming back again! Thank you for the yummy food and great service.

this place is so good ! my friends and i came after a baseball game on a whim and loved it ! the miss porky, the # 16 (strip cut steak), and the Colombian empanadas are a literal must. plus the service is so good and everyone is so sweet !!

Visited with the family. We got 4 arepas of different kinds and an unreasonable amount of tequeños. The arepas were well done and had a great balance of ingredients. The chicken and meat were particularly well prepared and the end result was a very agreeable chicken. The beef arepa was absolutely spectacular and actually hard to finish in a single sitting. The tequeños were absolutely fantastic and mixed perfectly well with both the arepas and the different sauces. The sauces: big highlights on the corn, cilantro and spicy mayo. Beware the habanero sauce. Very good but veeeery spicy. The place was absolutely great. Excellent set up, great vibe and the absolutely friendliest and most competent service you could possibly imagine. Conclusion : if you have the chance, definitely try the place. 100% recommend.

A very cozy, friendly and vibrant atmosphere. Food was delicious and Lisa at the front counter helped me put together a delicious vegetarian customized combo meal which inspired me to order a second round for dinner at home. So good!
