Don't know how I walked past this place so many times over the years great food, cocktails and service. I could see it being too busy on the weekend, It was a great experience for weekday. The Cuban was pretty tasty, even if not a perfect representation of a south Florida sandwich. House made sauces were great. Will go again.

The beef brisket and the portobello mushroom tacos were very lovely, as was their My Cheey Amour cocktail. Very nice, relaxed atmosphere, where I could sit back and enjoy my food and drink. I'm really looking forward to returning to explore more of their menu!

Enjoyed my first experience at Rumba, customer service was great. Second time not so much. Didn't let us in because of a valid vertical ID, even though we were ALLOWED to enter with one just a few months prior. Nowhere on the website does it say no verticals. Pretty disappointing since it was such an enjoyable experience the first time and was looking forward to going back. Probably won't come back

Good service. Cozy vibes. Came in at 11 pm on Saturday. There was a bit of a wait. The drinks were delicious. We got: * Picnic on a pike (really good) * Rumba old fashioned (really good) * Mojito (really good and refreshing) * A rhum with vicux (it was really strong. Felt a bit rough to drink) Great spot! (Music could be better though.)

Great ambience. Amazing cocktails and appetizing quick bites. A little bit of wait time over the weekend to get a table for a party of 6 but nothing too terrible.

I loved the vibe of this place. The drinks were on point! A loved the collection of non alcoholic drinks making this a very inclusive spot. Food wasn’t the best, I had beef empanadas and they lacked flavor. But hey, I was here to have a great girls night and we did!!!

Inside passage drink was so poor. Bali high and jet pilot was really good! And banana fosters were outstanding

This was chill. The location is prime, the apps were eeeeeexcellent. Be prepared to spend.

Never knew there was so many different kinds of rum! Definitely a unique place that is worth visiting! Bar tender was amazing! If you want a place to go to that you will not find anywhere else, this is a must!

We came down from Canada and this was the best stop in Seattle. Fantastic service, the drinks were perfect, and the food was even better.

Dude with the Fro is the only waiter I've ever stiffed. Legit the worst server I've ever had anywhere. It was odd. He acted like he had zero time for us. We asked a question about the menu and he literally just left mid-question and said ‘one sec’. He never came back. Tried to order food and drinks but I've never ever had it be such a difficult experience. I don't get it. Spent a few hundred at another venue after getting actively ignored here. I used to take clients here but certainly not after this last time. Avoid at all costs. Maybe fire the dude with the fro.

Horrid service. Waiter was avoidant to a bizarre degree. Borderline hostile. Tried to order food + drink but he literally ran away. I kid you not…we flagged him down to ask what’s most popular as he scurried away only to never come back. Not exaggerating when I say it was the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Ever.

My new favorite Seattle bar. Was in town for a few days and had to come back for a second visit. Very pleasant space with laid back atmosphere, incredibly comfortable bar seating too. Didn't have any food, but the drinks blew me away! Their originals are fantastic, but it was the Mai Tai that stole the show for me. Staff and service were too notch, shouts out to Preston especially. Can't wait to go back!

Went here for my fiancées birthday dinner. Ended up being late for our reservation but they said no problem and when we arrived got seated immediately. Loved the post cards decked all over the walls and the layout of the whole place. Drinks were so tasty and honestly no more expensive than any other spot in cap hill. They poured strong too so you definitely get your moneys worth. The food took less than 10 minutes to come out after ordering. The brisket tacos were some of the best I’ve had in this part of Seattle. The beef patties, authentic or not, we both really enjoyed. The place is awesome and I look forward to coming back. Cheers!

Fun decor and huge menu of rum cocktails and rum tasting options. The drinks have too much ice but they are still tasty.

Yummy cocktails. The Inner Passage is sort of within the Rumba with a slightly different vibe.

This is probably my favorite bar in Seattle. The drinks are almost always perfect. The tiki drinks are elegantly garnished and in interesting glasses or cups. Once had a ceramic shark container complete with a “blood” strawberry drizzle and an LED ice cube making it an entire party in a glass.

If rum speaks to you it’s hard to find a better overall place to share a drink and app with someone(s). Inside Passage (which is attached) has the traditional insta-worthy presentation, but high prices and lower drink quality. Rumba is better for everything but the full tiki experience. All the drinks we had were A-tier in flavor, proof, and presentation, and they have a massive collection of rare and exotic rums to choose from if you know your stuff and wanna explore. A pair of drinks will be ~$40+ with tax and tip, which is normal for CapHill. Apps were solid. Great flavor, non-conventional in their construction, and worth the price for everything we got. The whole place is decked out with cabana vibes and it really pulls you into the mood. Especially good in the summer when you can’t find an actually tropical spot to sip at.

The food and service was great, definitely one of our new go to spots in Seattle.

Fun spot for some decent food and the rum selection is interesting and vibrant with many choices and flights to choose from. Decently priced for the area and solid service. Would recommend and try again.

For a moment I wondered if I was back in Miami's culinary embrace as I sipped on stellar rum based cocktails in Rumba's thoughtfully curated dining room. Careful not to peek out of the windows too often, one just might convince themselves turquoise Caribbean waters await just outside the doors. Only as the food arrives does the realization Rumba, in fact, resides in Seattle. Underwhelmingly spiced and reheated Jamaican patties with refrigerator-cold centers follow an onion dominant ceviche featuring pitifully juvenile shrimp. Including salty mariquitas almost brings on enough nostalgia for a good review, but not quite. Perhaps next time I will try Rumba's decidedly inauthentic $18 "Cuban Sandwich" featuring shredded pork, bacon, and sauteed onion. Perhaps not.

Been here a couple times now and it’s definitely one of my favorite bars in Seattle! Great vibe, drinks and amazing service!

Amazing cocktails! You can taste the fresh ingredients they use and the service was awesome. Definitely try the painkiller! The speakeasy inside was also very cool and had great drinks as well. Worth the money 100%.

I ordered the Cuban Sandwich and it was the best I’ve ever had. Very good food. Everything looked delicious.

Within the Seattle area lies an excellent tiki bar. It lies within the walls of Rumba, which in itself is a pretty cool rum bar, over 500 rums! Hidden Passage is somewhat of a speakeasy. You enter through a side passage, and once through that passage, the escapism begins. You immediately notice the octopus hanging over the bar. The decor is that of a nautical theme and incredibly well done. Staff contributed by making some of the decor. The drinks are good and served in a very imaginative way! Dry ice is used in the presentation of some drinks, but not used in the drinks. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks are well balanced and taste good as a result. The food offerings are equally as tasty and pair well with the drinks, and yes, there are vegan options. If you enjoy good drink, good food, and awesome people, definitely stop in and enjoy. Tiki aficionados, this is definitely one to visit, but all will enjoy!

Great experience if you like rum or want to try some different runms. Small plates are also served, and are delicious. The jerk salsa is amazing, spicy and packs a ton of flavor.

Wow! Had a great experience here Thursday 1/18 at the bar! We had been once to Inside Passage before but had always wanted to come back for Rumba… which did not disappoint. Preston and Gregor were both very knowledgeable for a newcomer to Rum. Overall the service was outstanding, both the drinks and the Rum were amazing, and we loved the atmosphere! They have over 700 different bottles to choose from as well. I will definitely be back for more soon, props to the bartenders!

Amazing rum selection, great drinks, very cool vibe.

Rumba has an incredible selection of rums - one of the best in the world, more than 700 at last count. They're always getting new ones in, and all of their bartenders manage to know about nearly all of them, offering incredible recommendations regardless of your tastes - funky, floral, woody, smooth, you name it. Their cocktails are a mix of well-executed classics (don't skip the daquiri, and consider trying all 3) and innovative new ideas. While rum is the most popular option, they have other options as well. The food is incredible and far better than bar food has any right being. I particularly recommend the tacos and the guacamole/plantain (they do plantain better than anyone else in Seattle), but the sliders, empanadas, and to be honest the whole menu is amazing and reasonably priced. Service is incredible - the bartenders are all knowledgeable and great to talk to, the managers and owner are friendly and helpful when they're around, and it's really a place where you can feel at home - especially if you decide to pursue the rum map or passport. Seattle is fortunate to have a number of excellent bars, but Rumba is where I find myself drawn to the most and spending the most time at. Unconditionally recommended.

I enjoyed the mai tai and felt the pricing was in line with most places and the surrounding area. The food was good, albeit a bit pricey for the size/quantity you receive. If you're going for a night out, and you like rum, Rumba is a place to visit every once in a while unless you have a large amount to spend.

Our third time here and it never disappoints. Preston was our bartender and he served us some delicious craft cocktails. The rum old fashioned is the best I've ever had and the Trinidad sour was great too

Atmosphere is dark and intimate.

Some of the best service and interaction I've had at a restaurant in a while. The indirect lighting, colors, attention to details and rustic atmosphere is a nice invitation to come. The food was absolutely delicious. The empanadas were flaky and well seasoned on the filling without being too much. House made hot sauces were nice on heat and balanced. The shrimp taco was really well balanced. There was a lot of flavor without it having too much bite with garlic or pineapple. I would have liked more of that flavor though. The mixed drinks were ok, nothing special, but better than dinner pours in the area. There's not much in the way of beers here, and they are poured from a can to a glass. I'll be thinking about those empanadas though... They were just really good and other than a small menu, I couldn't see bringing anyone here as going wrong.

Excellent food and drinks! Really inventive menu and the food is incredibly filling and delicious (if a bit oily). Highly recommend getting a reservation though as it's a small venue and always packed. Will be back for sure!

This is a real var, folks. They don’t even have sour mix, or any other mix for that matter. One would think that such quality would only be available for a ridiculous price — not so. I just can’t recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and belly up to this excellent bar. You might even see me there; I’ll definitely be back.

Impeccable. Service was spectacular. Sam and his colleagues were attentive, exemplary. Drinks expanded my horizons (drank a Mai tai, tasted friends’ My Cherry Amour, Panda P*rn, Japanese Snow Monkey), the food delighted (Curried Goat Doublings, Shrimp Corn Dogs, Brisket Taco, guacamole and plantains), the atmosphere got us waxing nostalgic about tropical beaches and hopeful for good times ahead. Walked away buzzed, full, totally satisfied and planning when to return.

I don’t even know how to describe the experience we had here. It was great. Servers knew everything and had great recommendations. Drinks were amazing. I even had one that I didn’t like due to my own personal tastes, but it was still an amazing drink. That’s how good they are!!

My friends and I visited Rumba where we sat at the bar for several rounds of drinks. The cocktails were fantastic and the service was top-notch. We enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend visiting them if you’re in the area. You’ll want to get there early (as we did) and may also want to consider making reservations because at opening time, there was already a line outside to get in.

Nice place for drink after visiting Paramount and late night snacks. Cool option to have Caribbean food. We enjoy fresh fried plantains but didn’t come out hot as we would have like, and the tacos were good but like any other tacos. Staff was great and place had a neat vibe, but note we don’t go out to bars often, at all but when there is food option, makes it enjoyable!

Really like these sorts of places, great cocktails and an incredible selection of rums. A must visit for any rum lover whilst in Seattle.

I didn't have food, just a few cocktails with a friend. The bar staff were great, the cider was delicious, but my mixed drinks were a bit strong and tasted like they were not made with good quality alcohol. I'm not sure if this is a one-off case because it was my first visit. The place seems pretty cool for a get together .

For 2 years I had been looking forward to experiencing the island vibes in Cap Hill at Rumba and it was an overall underwhelming experience. The biggest highlight is their rum flights and pure rum selection. Any rum fan can and will appreciate that experience. As for food, while good, it's far from the quality you can get from places like Pam's Kitchen and not worth the price premium. Regarding mixed drinks, stay away from them imo. One of the poorest price-to-quality ratios we've ever experienced. Find your piña coloadas and Mai Tais elsewhere friends

This is definitely a great spot. Great drinks the food snacks. Especially the sliders and empanadas. I'm west Indian and they taste good like Caribbean food for real. And they have literally every type of rum. Definitely one of my new favorite spots. Go check em out

Phenomenal little spot! Inside Passage is an awesome Tiki getaway without the expensive airfare. The Spam Sliders were just as I hoped! Drinks are well crafted and delicious.

Great food and lively vibe. The mushroom taco is flawless. The empanadas with the hot sauce are delicious; very buttery and flaky pastry. The bananas with ice cream are good, however there's barely enough ice cream to sweeten the amount of bananas they give. The 'no cigars' rum flight is smooth and diverse. They could easily veganise the taco and empanada, without compromising on flavor, so I hope they do that in the future!

April 24, 2023 at 4:00pm I ordered shrimp tacos and they served me spoiled shrimps and they never acknowledged the mistake and I was not even given an apology or another choice of food Really bad service and I didn’t felt welcomed when arrived to the place.

Always had a great experience with the servers. Weirdly best Mexican food in seattle. Last time i went the bartender was perhaps drunk, and clearly rude, but interested in serving customers. Great servers otherwise. Don’t sit at the bar i guess.

It was cool..idk who said pirate themed it was underwater themed. But still a cool experience.

Great atmosphere. We ate at Inside Passage. Specialty drinks were good that we had . One eye Willy and I had the one in Rainier Pounder can. Rumba burger was really good and the scallop, and calamari and onion and a creamy sauce like coleslaw served with plantain salted chips. Which was also great. Great Service.

I brought my family here this past weekend after coming here a few months ago before the Moulin Rouge show. They have great rum drinks and the best ambiance! It’s just such a fun vibe and I would absolutely take my friends here when they come to visit. I highly recommend making reservations if you can, it can get pretty busy. I’d also recommend the plantain chips with guacamole. I’m looking forward to trying more of their drinks and small plates in the future.

I'm not generally a rum drinker, or tiki type, but this place has a remarkable selection and knowledgeable staff. Super busy though, even for a weekday.
