I have loved the Caribbean Roast sandwich for years. Now with the Habinaro hot sauce even better!

Such a great spot! Food is amazing! Highly recommend their Famous Cuban Sandwich, the Pork Belly Sandwich, and the corn is INCREDIBLE. Would go back again, service is quick, and you can tell it's made really well.

2024/08/11: We had the Caribbean Roast and Paseo Press sandwiches. They were okay. The sandwiches were hard to eat as the bread and the meat were too thick.

I've been coming here for a long long time (before and after ownership change), so I know that the sandwiches are so good here. However, it was busy when I ordered, picked up to go and got home (far from Seattle). Found a part of a glove in one of the sandwiches, never seen this happen ever, pretty bad FFS. Other than that, nothing wrong with the sandwiches though, thus two stars.

This place was really solid. They forgot the sauce for the tostones. The habanero sauce was spicy and good. Really enjoyed the Caribbean roast and the shrimp sandwich was good too. The bread pudding is the worst bread pudding I've had in my life. I'm from Louisiana and have eaten a thousand bread puddings. Stay away from this one and stick with the sandwiches

The Caribbean Roast sandwich is famous for a reason. Don't pass up this spot. And if a pork sandwich isn't for you, go for a plate - they're bangin too.

The pork sandwich was so good! Very juicy, but somehow didn't feel greasy like some sandwiches. Bread actually had some material to it too and could keep up with the rest of the sandwich. Vibe was great sitting outside during my lunch break.

Food came out quickly and the service was great. I got the most popular sandwich, which was fantastic, but it was incredibly oily.

Ruby and the team were amazing! I called ahead to see what time they closed and was pleasantly surprised when someone answered the phone on the second ring and confirmed that the closing time online was indeed correct (a rarity these days). When we arrived it was with a group of friends all visiting Seattle for the first time and Paseo’s team was able to accommodate us and cook our delicious food delightfully quick. Everyone at our table ordered something different and were all in love with our food with highest praise coming from someone who lived in Miami and she said it was the best Cuban sandwich she had EVER. Highly recommend and just be safe when parking as it’s a busy road. 5 Stars and shoutout to Ruby and the team for a memorable experience!

Used to come all the time when I lived in Seattle and will always make an effort to come when I'm back. Sandwiches are good for a decent price. Small shop, bus your own table, some tables are close to the dumpsters but overall clean. Casual and consistent Seattle spot to have a quick bite or take to go.

Pork belly sandwich is the best thing I've ever had. Perfectly juicy and perfectly flavorful. My favorite comfort food. Also really quick service and friendly staff. Parking limited near the store but there's tons of parking in the surrounding neighborhood less than 5 min walk away

Finally tried the place out and it didn’t disappoint I ordered the famous Caribbean , chicken thigh Sammys, tostones and roasted corn on cob. The bread definitely makes the sandwich and the baguette was crunchy crust and chewy bread was amazing the pork was juicy topping complimented the overall sandwich taste and bread to protein ratio was perfect. The chicken thigh was similarly juicy with fresh toppings. The tostones were crispy w soft savory plantain and the roasted corn had plenty of butter and spices. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the outdoor seating was clean and comfortable. You gotta check this joint out !!!! Parking can be tricky but worth the effort

I was recommended the Caribbean Roast Sandwich and that's what I fot and unfortunately I was quite disappointed. While the sandwich had a decent amount of meat it lacked any real flavor. The pickled jalapenos I could barely tell they were there, it all seemed one note.

Press sandwich is not pressed. Instead it is a wet mess dominated by soupy onions. Service was better than the sandwich but not much. Appeared no effort was made to keep the tables, much less anything else, clean.

Honestly didn’t really expect anything walking into this place, but it blew me away. Small little shack on the side of the road and was a 10/10 for me. I got the Caribbean roast and it did not disappoint. Def recommend for a quick bit to eat!!

Sandwiches always hit. I’ve never been let down when i go here, sandwiches are always enormous and the pork is tastefully seasoned and really soft. Perfect sandwich, it will get messy quick though and you need to be hungry hungry or else you won’t be able to finish it. Roasted corn is fantastic as well

At a friend's suggestion, Peonies, for dinner and was very glad for this suggestion. The Caribbean Sandwich was delicious l. Courteous and helpful staff.

The Caribbean roast is not the same

Hadn't been in more than a decade. But just as sloppily delicious as the first time I stood in line for 30 minutes to get my order up.

I love everyone about Paseo. The sandwiches are fantastic. They have so many options that everyone can find something they will love. I love the shrimp sandwich and always have to get one.

I’ve been to this place twice now and both times i’ve experienced the messiest sandwich I’ve ever had in my life bar none. Yeah it tastes good, but they gotta be better at wrapping these things up or something because it’s impossible to not make a complete mess

This place had a pleasant lunch for us, but it is quite small. So, if you have a group, maybe plan better than we did.

Meh, I had really high hopes for this place. I am not sure why they offer a lettuce wrap with the way it *doesn't* hold up. It was a soggy mess. I got the Caribbean sandwich. The flavor of the meat was good along with the onions, but it was impossible to eat without going home for a plate and knife/fork. The tostones were alright as well. This place is overrated IMO.

The sandwiches were amazing. I would take a pass on the jambalaya. It wasn't bad just not great 🙂

Not sure if its with age or not, but I remember this place being amazing when i was in high school. Nowadays, I feel like the dishes lack a bit a flavor. Still good but not as good as I remember it. With that being said, I would recommend this place. Great people running the shop and food still pretty bomb.

Not sure if I just got one from a bad batch but my Caribbean roast sandwich was very bland, from the extremely lean (in a bad way) pork to the grilled onion. I only tasted grease, which isn't inherently a bad thing but there was nothing else going on for it in terms of flavor.

In a world where average seems to be the norm, Paseo stands out as one of the few, the best, Top Dog. Thank your Latin American kitchen staff, white folk, for we are the ones growing, cooking, and feeding you. Be thankful and always leave a tip if you can not afford to tip. You can not afford to eat out, learn to cook healthy at home. 🙏

Rating: 3.5/5.0 I have tried three of Paseo's sandwiches: the Caribbean Roast, the Smokin' Thighs, and the Tofu Delight. The Caribbean Roast can be a hit-or miss; sometimes, the pork shoulder is incredibly dry instead of juicy and tasty. The Smokin' Thighs is nothing to write home about, but the Tofu Delight is consistently good. While Paseo is generous with the fillings, the hefty sandwiches are too greasy. The bread is always soaked with grease! And to say their signature Caribbean Roast is the "best sandwich in America" is a huge exaggeration in my opinion.

Tough to get in and get seated but worth the wait. Probably the best Sammis in town. We always like the Cubans but love the shrimp too! Great little to go spot, but come early!

It's basically a mediocre pulled pork sandwich. The people who rave about this place never had a real cubano. Sorry Paseo.

I will dream of the first bite I took of the famous sandwich… so juicy… so balanced… perfect bread. There was a millisecond into my second half of the sandwich where it was slightly less jucy and I was like ayo what’s going on??! But then it came back. Is it the best sandwich in America? Wouldn’t fight that characterization tbh. Also Tamarind Jarritos is a perfect soda.

So damn good lol my favorite sandwich of all time. I'm going to try them all but the Caribbean roast is still number one so far

Sandwiches are good and big, there is a decent selection too. Prices are fine and the staff are very nice and attentive.

Got the caribbean roast sandwich the thing I loved most about this sandwich is it was absolutely loaded up with pork there was so much of the pork between the two sandwich buns that it was hard to actually take a bite of the full sandwich at once I found that really impressive - they absolutely give you a very strong amount of meat here As for how the pork was, I thought it was really good You do get a lot of flavor from the fat inside, and it's obvious it's been roasted to perfection I didn't get much flavor from the marinade, however, as other than the pork fat I'm not sure there was as much extra flavor as I was hoping. The great thing was it was really juicy, however - pressing down on it would start oozing liquid - which is exactly what you want Since the pork took up most of the sandwich, that's mostly what you got in each bite - with one major exception The onions were incredible - I absolutely loved the way these were caramelized, and they were soft yet had some denseness to them Most importantly, however, they were really large, and there was a lot of them. I don't think I've seen a place put this much of an onion on a sandwich - and it really worked to perfection here The buns were solid - they weren't special, and you couldn't really taste the aioli much because of the pork flavor soaking up most of it, but I did find that it added something, and taking a bite of the bun itself gave me more of that flavor. It does seem like it could've been toasted, though, as that would make it better The lettuce and jalapenos were also pretty solid add-ons here This sandwich was slightly expensive, but they made up for it for providing something that was pretty large, especially when you consider the amount of pork that was in it and how good that pork was. Another thing to note here was how sloppy this sandwich was. Every part of this was wet - which leaves the sandwich, the plate, and your hands covered in pork juice and oil at the end of it. I like my sandwiches this way, so this was really appealing. Overall, a pretty fantastic sandwich. 8.75/10

We still LOVE Paseo. However, the last few times we have had an issue with our order which was not discovered until arriving home. Yes, it is our responsibility to recheck the order before leaving and I will do so moving forward. Unfortunately, the last visit only two other people were in the restaurant eating so missing items from my order should not have happened again. Thank you.

Another great Caribbean restaurant in North Seattle. Big fan of the corn, churros and their Paseo press that’s similar to a Cuban with banana peppers. 10/10 will be back here with friends!

Don’t understand the hype with this place at all. I’ve tried a few different sandwiches and they’re all a greasy, soggy mess. The bread is always mushy and the single piece of lettuce is wilted from all the oil. The grease soaks the paper right through so you can’t even use that to try and hold the sandwich together. Aside from all that, the flavors are a bit bland for me. I just don’t get how anyone finds these sandwiches to be enjoyable, but clearly plenty of people do. The churros are fantastic though. Probably the best I’ve ever had.

In Seattle for work, I recalled an article saying “one of the best sandwiches in America.” I usually don’t get the popular items on menus. I ordered the chicken thighs. The bread was perfectly toasted. Chicken thighs were flavorful, the spread was tasty. THE TOSTONES WERE AMAZING. whatever sauce they give you to dip them in. Fabulous. Definitely a great sandwich and will try again when I’m back!

Tried "America's best sandwich" and LOVED it. I get the claim, best I've tried for sure! I'm not even a fan of pork but it was delicious.

I take all my friends here and they love it! Always crave this place at least once a week. My go to is the chicken breast sandwich and an order of churros, hits the spot

I was on a trip to Seattle when a family member recommended this place. I rarely eat pork, but this was recommended, so hey, live a little. The pork sandwich was unbelievable. So good. The people who work there were so helpful and friendly. The price was right and I'm looking forward to going back.

Got the Paseo Press and Tostones. Tostones were nice, dip was a little bland but the Tostones had a clean plantain flavor. Paseo Press was meh. Onions were nice but sandwich overall lacked flavor and bread was spongy. Tasted ok for the price.

Well, I was there on a Monday on a wet day so there was nobody there. I had the first item on the menu, the roasted pork sandwich. This places has the perfect combination of flavors with the roil, the tender pork and the sauce. There can be a line 15 minutes long sometimes.

The Caribbean roast sandwich was to die for; such unique flavor and the onions & jalapeños were a good addition.

TLDR: flavorful but greasy sandwich that doesn’t hold together The meat on the sandwiches were flavorful and tasty and the huge grilled onions were bomb but the rest of the sandwich had issues. I’m not sure what the one piece of lettuce does there because it just gets cooked and soggy before it even arrives to eat. The bread doesn’t hold any sauce so literally after taking two pictures of the sandwiches, the wax paper is soaked through and I even ended up eating some paper. The sauce drips everywhere

Everything was great except for the food. The chicken and beans had no flavor, the rice portionwas way to small. Island spanish food has to have garlic, sofrito, and adobo. Tostones was just bland and salty (no garlic). I was to afraid to try anything else. But nice presentation. Would I recommend it as real Caribbean food.. NO!!

I’ve been to the SODO location many times and have always enjoyed it. 5-stars. Unfortunately the two restaurants couldn’t be more different. The Freemont location leaves much to be desired. I found the pork sandwich to be a greasy unappetizing mess. Look, I understand that at baseline this is a messy sandwich, but the pork this time was just so excessively fatty. By bite #2, the whole sandwich collapsed under the weight of its grease, and what remained of the baguette was slimy, oil-logged mush. Barely got through half of it… and I had arrived hungry. Side salad had no dressing whatsoever. Sliced beats do not a dressing make. Even a mediocre salad would have gone a long way to absorb that gut punch of a sandwich. The kids menu items are very low effort. “Nachos” were just tortilla chips with a stingy drizzle of cheese. That’s it. “Grilled cheese” was made with a stale baguete, far too tough for most kids to tackle, let alone enjoy. But the final nail was the fact that they had three different sources of music loudly blaring (from the open kitchen, from the cashier’s counter, and another whose source I couldn’t immediately identify). Cacophonous auditory assault is not my preferred dining atmosphere for even the best sandwiches. I don’t understand the hype for the Freemont location at all.

Came in recently for my birthday sandwich and noted they're using a new bread. It had been a while since I'd ordered a sandwich as the last few times I've been I've gone the bowl route. This bread is far denser than I remember which makes it difficult to eat and not very enjoyable. It's too rigid so all the insides end up on the outside. I don't think I'll get a sandwich again. I also find dining in sort of annoying. Depending on the day they'll either bring your food out to your table or just call your name/order out for you to pick up at the counter. I don't like the inconsistency, nor do I like making multiple trips back and forth to get my order from the counter inside to my outside table. What am I tipping for again?? It's certainly not service. I'll come back while the West Caribbean Bowl remains delicious, but Paseo's on warning with me...

We ordered off doordash and received the wrong order. We reordered through the app and called the restaurant to make sure we get the right order and they let us know that our dasher grabbed the wrong bag. When we received our reorder, they included the original bag that the dasher was initially supposed to grab. So we got twice the food, and obviously were so happy. The food was amazing, so flavorful and still hot despite being delivered 30 mins after being picked up. The customer service and food are wonderful! Thanks for everything!

Food was fine. I expected a little more flavor. I hoped for a little more braising on my pork belly. I may have just be in a picky mood that day. They were out of menu items, but there was no indication before convo. I will give another shot. Socks were not knocked off as I hoped they would be this time. Beans seemed plain.

Got the Caribbean roast sandwich which was good but the best I’ve had. Also got the tostones - disappointing, dry and very oily and took a long time to make. End up only eating two and tossed the rest out.

I usually love sandwiches at Paseo, But today I ordered the steak and Swiss sandwich and it's actually chunks of hamburger that aren't spiced very well. Flavorless. And big pieces of onion that make the sandwich fall apart. I ordered it at the Fremont location " for here " and it was wrapped up in paper covered in grease ... on a plate that was too small to hold the sandwich. Disappointed. Please step up this sandwich 🙏🏼 I do love the shrimp sandwich but I wouldn't order the "steak" sandwich again
