Truly amazing. I swear that the shellfish from the paella was taken from the sea that very morning. Kathryn was not only a great guide to the menu, but made sure we felt like long time patrons on our first visit. If you're like us and on a pit stop to the San Juan islands, make sure to put A Town Bistro on your plans.

Food was beyond tasty and fresh I enjoyed eating here! The service is excellent and a very cute restaurant.

What an amazing experience, all thanks to the excellent service by our server, Kathryn. The cocktails were fantastic, beautifully garnished. The food was incredible. The clam chowder was life changing, and has been the only consistent item on their menu since they opened. We loved the patatas al brava. The flavor was intense and so good. All in all, we’d go back over and over. Five stars!

I had a wonderful meal at this restaurant last Wednesday evening. The Charcuterie board was great! The best thing about the meal was the attention to my food sensitivities. I was served a visually appealing and delicious meal within my limited food choices. The server could not have been better, she went above and beyond helping me choose foods that I could eat from their menu. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We loved our first visit and we'll be back! The burger was fantastic, as were the scallops with mussels and dumplings...So good! They also packed dessert up beautifully for us to take away. The team has a very special, up beat vibe too so the service was excellent.

Magnificent experience at A'Town while visiting Anacortes. Kelsey was a spectacular waitress and the food options, although a smaller menu option, was very flavorful and worth every dollar. Would highly recommend this location if you're local or passing through!

This is a great place. Everything is local foods. Very unique menu. The "toasts" are amazing. You will be completely surprised at how big these toasts are.

I can never be in Anacortes and skip over A-Town. Delicious food and the most friendly and amazing staff. Great for date night. Refined menu without any stuffiness, the servers happily answer any questions related to their own preferences but can guide you in food/wine/cocktail choices based on your own. The high quality ingredients contribute to a delicious and thoughtful menu. Also great at accommodating any dietary needs/restrictions. Will always be back!

I do not eat out often and when I do I do not hope for mediocre. We had the duck (large plate), the squid (small plate) and the scallops (large plate) and a cocktail. Every meal - and the cocktail (the Fairmount) - was a cascade of flavors. I practically ate and drank with my eyes closed. We loved it. The service and the atmosphere of the place is just so pleasant. What a treat!

Love this place. The staff is very accommodating. I was on my way to the hospital and needed to kill some time. I asked if they had a cushion I could sit on and they got me a very comfy chair! As usual, I totally enjoyed the experience!

Fantastic duck l’orange, unusual but excellent clam chowder with the whole fresh clams, savory French Onion soup packed with onions, Yummy Paella with fresh local seafood.

We are planning our next trip and will definitely be back to eat here.** Came here in 2019 and had the best clam chowder I've ever put in my face. Been dreaming of it ever since, so when we were coming back into town, I didn't hesitate to make a reservation. It was everything I remembered it to be! Amazing chowder, delicious drinks, fantastic dessert. They do it all! If you have room to share an appetizer, I recommend the squid.

We had clam chowder with whole, in shell clams. The broth was rich cream and flavorful.

Amazing food and service! Very welcoming environment and great spot for a fancier meal out. Table ordered a variety from the menu: Charcuterie board was delish. We selected a honey ricotta, cocktail onions, sourdough bread, salami and really enjoyed it. You can mix and match as you want French onion soup was tasty but it would be a big portion to have along with an entree. Maybe consider sharing. Paella for two was delicious. I would say it’s able to serve three easily. Plus if you get an appetizer with it you will leave full. Patatas a la brava had a considerable amount of potatoes and very tasty sauces. Would recommend sharing. Scallop crudo was delish. It has a citrusy flavor that’s refreshing. Skagit valley burger hits the spot. Good for pickier eaters but would recommend venturing out and trying one of the other plates on the menu. Egg nog crème brûlée was a good way to end the meal. Egg nog flavor didn’t overpower the dessert. If you are looking to have coffee at the end of your meal just be aware that the French press they bring to the table makes around four cups and not single servings.

It just doesn't get any better than A Town! Wow! The food is unreal! I wished I could try everything on the menu, but it turns out the duck l'orange was sheer perfection! We also had the scallop appetizer... amazing sauce! Hazelnut torte for dessert. The Tinderbox was so yummy off the cocktail list. Of course, the service was great too.

Best restaurant in Anacortes by far. Locally sourced ingredients, fantastic cocktails and great service. The made to order clam chowder is a stand out dish, but you can’t really go wrong with any option.

Probably the most surprisingly delicious meal I have had in the area. Definitely order a drink, sit, relax and enjoy the company you have brought with you. THEN order food and enjoy. You could probably get away with ordering starters and share, especially if you have a group or are meeting someone new. Regardless, experiment with food flavors and enjoy yourself.

We had a celebratory dinner with one of our kids and her parents as well, their choice as they live in the area and love visiting Anacortes and A-Town Bistro! It was awesome! Food is cooked out in the open, so you can smell and savor what everyone else is enjoying as well. Our service was excellent, energetic, informative, attentive, and just plain old FUN! Yes, prices might be weekly prohibitive, but it's worth it.

Kate was an excellent waitress and so was the hostess who greeted us! The staff was quick to get our various courses to us. The restaurant was a bit loud but nothing too uncomfortable. We really enjoyed the paella. Thanks! Also, I recommend you make a reservation, it gets busy fast.

Good cocktails. Efficient service. Menu is extremely limited so make sure they have something you're interested in before you go. I've had better meals there in the past (paella and clam chowder are both excellent), but on this last visit I had the $27 lamb burger which was dry and under seasoned.

Perfect dinner!! The service was excellent from the hostess to the server. We enjoyed the Paella and the lamb burger! Everything was cooked to perfection!! And the outside dining was a hit!!

Highest recommendation: I had the pork belly toast with soft boiled egg, kimichi, greens, and house-baked gluten free bread. Probably the best gluten free bread I’ve ever had - and I’ve had a lot. The timer for the French press coffee was an excellent touch. When there’s an Anthony Bourdain quote on the menu, you know you’re in a good place!

Our server's name was Crystal and she was phenomenal!!! Answered our questions with ease and accuracy, friendly, and provided excellent service! We, as a table of five, ordered two of the larger paella entrees as per her suggestion. This too was spot on and we all enjoyed every bit of the meal! Thank you for an excellent experience all around!

We stayed in Anacortes overnight for the ferry to go to the San Juan Islands. On the way, I read menus and found A'Town Bistro most interesting. Our server, Kate, was fabulous and as a long time employee of the restaurant knew what to recommend. An off the menu (hope it is a permanent return) appetizer was Duck Duck Toast - besides being one of the most fabulous things I ever ate, it is a true work of art! Kate recommended the clam chowder which was at least 30 fresh clams. And then the dessert of 2 outstanding cannoli. We also had a salad and 1 drink. Highly recommend!

One of the best! In Door Picnic is amazing. The quality of the meats to the veggies pickled in house! The soup amazing. Main dishes just pick one. We have shared and tried them all. Oh…. Clam chowder with clams in the shells!

Everything we tried was superb! It's pricier than we would usually go for, but great for a special occasion. Our group of three was able to sit right down at their outdoor dining area and had wonderful service. We tried the squid karaage, scotch eggs, paella, short ribs, and their special that night - a half Cornish hen in a harissa honey glaze. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared and presented. They had two tasty ciders on tap and a top notch old fashion. We capped the night with a rhubarb tart and Lopez Island Creamery ice cream. We will definitely be back!

Grabbed dinner here on our way back from Deception Pass. Really nice, upscale restaurant with a chill vibe. Our waitress was awesome and brought things to keep our 1 year old busy. Patio is dog friendly.

Best culinary experience I’ve had in years!! We came in without a reservation on a Saturday night and were promptly seated at the bar. The bartender was incredibly friendly and made our cocktails to perfection! However, the true highlight of the experience was the short ribs and paella! I’ve never had two perfect dishes in one meal. Do yourself a favor and do not skip these two entrees! I live two hours away and will make the trip back to Anacortes for this restaurant alone. Favorite restaurant in Washington, hands down.

Called ahead and the amazing staff had a high chair ready and waiting for our 2 year old with the children’s menu and a children’s book. Amazing Food, Delicious Drinks and Excellent Service - Can’t wait to take the family there again!

It’d been since 2019 we’d eaten inside at a-town. We’d forgotten what a joy it truly is to do so and what the interaction between the staff. What a joy, and how very professional they all were! The quality of the farm-to-table the onion soup, squid ink aioli with lightly dusted calamari were superb. The most delicious plate, however, was their paella. First of all, we were so happy to see it on the menu. Can’t express enough how very much this took me back to Spain, the home of paella. Excellent!

There is no place like ATown. I’m a hard gal to please when it comes to dinner restaurants, and ATown is one of the best I’ve ever been to (lucky for me I’m a local). Their ingredients are incredibly fresh, flavorful and locally sourced, and the flavors and textures of their dishes are exquisite. If you can get their calamari with squid ink aïoli, do it. Their cocktails are thoughtful and deeply satisfying. The atmosphere is intimate and beautiful without being pretentious, and there’s always the *perfect* amount of ambient noise. Beyond anything else, the service is phenomenal. Whether it’s your first time or 50th time, you’re treated like family - and I know how that sounds, but I’m dead serious. I recommend this stellar dining experience to anyone and everyone who appreciates excellent food and phenomenal customer service.

Everything was absolutely delicious. Had the spare ribs and Cornish game hen, pear sorbet and chocolate tahini ice cream. Many gluten free choices. And the cocktails and wine selection are great.

Used their website to request a reservation and then followed up with a phone call two days later to confirm. Was told we had a reservation so we then proceeded to book a hotel for a dining eperience were eagerly anticipating. Upon arrival, we were suprised to be told there was no reservation and all tables were booked and that "Mistakes Happen". Wouldn't have spent $150 on a hotel room if we had know. Food may be excellent, however you need to be able to eat it......... Others have abviously had a better experience.. Don't think we'll try again as you can't trust their reservation system. Underwhelming/disappointing experience!...

We absolutely love this quaint little bistro! Amazing freshly prepared food with mind-blowing flavor. Crystal sealed the deal with her vibrant fun personality and excellent service. We highly recommend this experience and will be returning!

Every thing was delicious…scratch kitchen!!!

The paella might be the greatest dish known to humans. By far the best restaurants in Anacortes, probably Washington State. Honestly, shocked.

We had a great meal at A’town! Both the salmon and the short ribs were cooked to perfection— I don’t think I’ve had a better piece of fish in my life. All of the “supporting cast” of flavours were excellent, very thoughtfully executed, and with attention to detail. Our server (Crystal?) was excellent, warm and friendly and fast. The room is bustling but still intimate, comfortable and spacious with the right amount of lighting.

The clam chowder is life changing. Have been here many times and tried most everything on the menu and everything has been fantastic. The ice cream is a good example of what to expect. Home made and way better than you expect. Fair to say every dish is wonderful.

First time here in some months, but it was well worth the wait. Our favorite charcuterie platter is a bit reconstructed as a la carte but with “chef’s choice” as a picnic -/ every bit as delicious as before. Another old favorite was moules frites- with heavenly broth and tasty garlic fries. Surprise was Cornish game hen — with roasted corn cob, quartered, with bbq sauce, green peppers, Mexican cheese — that was straight off a big hit. Then, on top, was flavorful roasted game hen: really a large meal for one person. Friendly attentive and knowledgeable server. What a treat: real gem in downtown Anacortes!

My wife and I were recommended to go to A bistro, from the moment we walked in we were wowed, immediately greeted at the entrance. The menu was original and different to the usual fare, very innovative and interesting. We shared the scotch egg for appetizer which was a different take on the usual British one, oh so good, we then had the made to order clam chowder which was the best I’ve ever had, it’s also their signature dish. The beef short rib, came with house made smoked mozzarella and heirloom tomato salad. It fell off the bone and was very tasty. The charming servers, were knowledgeable and excited to explain the various dishes and flavors. Thanks Crystal! We travel around the world for work and hunt out great restaurants, this one in Anacortes was right up there for originality and taste. We are also in high end hospitality and appreciate the efforts A Bistro went to. We had a lovely chat with the owner Tim, you can tell the whole team work together very well. Thanks to the Chefs for an amazing meal.

We were in Anacortes for the night and randomly picked this restaurant. It was really good. Great service and I followed the recommendation for their Clam Chowder made to order with local clams. It was wonderful. My friends fish was good but she said a little dry. Highly recommend!

LOVE this place! We arrived a little after 5 and they were already packed so make a reservation if you can. They sat us at the bar and we had such a great time! Pictured is the paella (amazing) and the red snapper. Hubby also ordered Kimchi and I even liked it, which I normally don't. If you're in the area, don't pass up this place!

As an update: only open for dinner but their service is top notch. This is a must reserve place in Anacortes. I brought a friend who had specific dietary needs and they were able to produce a fantastic dish for them. It is definitely worth a visit and I’d take a date here. If you want a true clam chowder with real clams, this is the place to go to. It is a must stop for lunch if up in Anacortes. It is true made to order and it is quite hearty.

This place cares about ingredients, seasonings, flavor, preparation and cooking on another level. The staff is spectacular, and they all really care about what they are doing. It's special.

A’Town Bistro was overall a good experience. Good drinks. Cocktails, wine, and beer were very good. Most of the food we got was great, including the scotch egg, the tart, and the chowder. The snapper/fish dish was severely lacking. The plating needs editing, the flavors were all over the place, AND most criminal, the fish was way over done and inedible.

The garlic scapes were out of this world. Mixed reviews though because everything my friend got was amazing (asparagus tart and short rib), and everything I got was “meh” (poppy salad and PNW cod). Kinda wish someone told me to order something else because I could easily see this place becoming a favorite.

We made a reservation. This small populate restaurant fills up quickly. Park street side. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted and seated. We choose to be inside to shelter from the cold. There is an outdoor covered/sheltered street side seating/dining option. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. No table linen cover. While it was quite busy, the noise level was not at a conversation damping level. The menu offered something for everyone. We enjoyed the appetizer charcuterie medley and shell food entrees. A tasty experience in a small town restaurant.

My wife and I ordered the clam chowder and smoked duck ramen for dinner and dark chocolate mousse for dessert. Everything was delicious. Best clam chowder we have had. The ramen was a great pairing for variance in taste, as we shared each dish. We were both stuffed, but went for dessert as recommended by our awesome waitress Crystal. It was amazing. Great food, friendly energetic service.

A'Town is our go-to place for special occasions. They have incredible food with the most beautiful plating. The paella was perfect. The black cod had way too much cumin in the sauce but I think that had to be accidental. The picnic plate is the most beautiful charcuterie board I have seen at a restaurant. All the flavors and textures complemented each other. We added a chicken pate to ours.

Top drawer food and wait staff. Worth every penny every time. Excellent presentation and good wine and bar stock. It's our local go to for a date.

Tried the Paella this time and can recommend this as well, good selection of squid, pork belly, mussels, clams and chorizo, with a spicy kick. Wait staff were great again. We're so lucky to have a well run restaurant right here in Anacortes. Small but well crafted menu with a Northwest focus. The Clam Chowder is outstanding, made with local clams. Good selections of beers/ciders, wines and craft cocktails. Excellent pastry as well. Strongly recommended if you're in search of a city-quality restaurant in Skagit/Island County. Excellent and attentive service from staff who know the menu.

A’Town Bistro was the high point of our recent visit to Anacortes, Bellingham, and La Conner. My husband and I wanted a piece of everything on the menu, and finally decided on braised short ribs and duck confit ramen. We were delighted. Drinks before dinner and dessert after were just as tasty. Our vivacious server Crystal was professional, charming, and funny. Please push your yellow star ratings just a bit farther to the right, to give A’Town five full stars!

Definitely worth the price, not somewhere to overlook. My boyfriend and I had dinner here and were very impressed with the service all around. Our appetizer, drinks and main course were all 5 star. Without a reservation we sat at the end of the bar, overlooking the end of the kitchen. Our bartender was polite, friendly, quick and worked with class.
