Food and cocktails are unique and uniquely good. Appetizers were well portioned and also very delicious (spreads were an awesome order). Certainly a unique menu and a nice change of pace for a business dinner. Atmosphere was cozy, but a bit noisy for business or intimate dinner. Service was fine, but nothing to comment on from a positive or negative perspective.

Food was solid. More bland than expected but enough depth and texture. Cornbread nice, lamb shank kinda dry, spreads wonderful. Lymon cocktail was sad - something I’d mash together on a lazy Sunday. Moroccan Syrah was delightful. Service was the weakness. You could feel the lack of passion and interest from every person. Signal of some effort but just barely going through the motions. Atmosphere saved the day - pulled everything up a notch.

Aziza delivered superb brunch experience. Delicious food, relaxing atmosphere, with attentive service! Dishes were really good, flavorful, and surprising with excellent execution. Spiced lebhi yogurt was a fun dish; it’s sweet, tangy, refreshing, yet a little spicy! The texture of the pancakes were lighter than traditional American pancakes which I enjoyed. Honey and butter were provided to go with the pancakes; some might think too simple but it also gave more focus to the pancakes themselves. Grilled prawns also had lots of flavors on the plate. The most surprising one being the marinated garlics tasted like marinated plums often seen in Taiwan and Japan; Aziza completed changed the texture and flavors of the garlics and made them really enjoyable (for people who don’t like garlics like me)! They also use sugar cubes for the coffee; it’s usually a practice of high-end restaurants. Service at Aziza was attentive and thoughtful and definitely exceeded the typical services at brunch restaurants. For the price, brunch at Aziza is a must-try.

This was the best SF WOW meals that we have had in. LONG time. Wisdamme was the most amazing server. The atmosphere is so welcoming and groovy. The food is absolutely incredible. The mussels were the STAR of the meal. Everything impeccably prepared. Will 100% be returning.

Loved everything about this restaurant! The moment we walked in the door, the ambiance and the staff were amazing! The food was incredible. My girlfriend liked it better than Kokkari, and even went as far as saying it’s her new favorite restaurant in the city. I am still undecided, but it’s close! We got the Braised Lamb Shank, Basteeya, a side of couscous, a glass of Chardonnay, and the High Atlas cocktail. All highly recommended! You won’t be disappointed coming here.

I visited Aziza years ago and then just this past year and have been blown away both times. The first time it was all about the tastes and texture of modern envisioning of Moroccan cuisine. The second time it was all about the stunning presentations of the dishes, the colors and shapes were like little works of art. To be clear, both times the tastes were exceptional, it's just that the striking appearance of the dishes were what still rings out. Highly recommend this place, one of a kind in SF and that's saying something given the broad foodscape here. Feb 15, 2014

Go for the mussels. Best we've ever had. Done differently than most places but delicious. In our opinion the lamb shank could have been better. Nice and tender but not as flavorful as we'd expect. And don't forget the cornbread. It's an excellent addition.

Aziza is one of our go-to spots when we have visitors from out of town who want to get a taste of the SF food scene. It continually surprises me that you can nearly always get a reservation here given the consistently high quality of the experience that it delivers. The kefta small plate and the cornbread with harissa butter are both a must (these are mainstays of the menu). Service has always been impeccable and a renovation a few years back brought the atmosphere to a new level.

Food: As a stereotypical American, I had to do a map search to know where Morocco was. You could kind of guess what kind of food you'd get but the truth is, it's better than that. My wife and I had two appetizers. The first was the squid which was fresh and had a great subtle lime taste. Truly a dish to be ordered. The other app we had was the anchovy toast. It comes with a tomato spread which was just perfect. For the entrees, we had the basteeya, a celebratory Moroccan dish as we learned. It looks and tastes similar to an empanada, a great dish with a grand presentation. The other entree we tried was the salmon tagine. It's a clay pot dish and it comes out like a salmon stew. Very savory and again with that tomato flavor! As a side we had the corn bread. Yelp might tell you to order and you absolutely should. It has what appears to be scorched honey on top and the butter spread they give on the side just melts over it. A must if you come here. Lastly, for dessert we had the date cake. A mix of salted caramel and pecan at the bottom for the savory flavors with the sweet ice cream and cake on top...chef's kiss. A wonderful way to end the meal. As for drinks, we had the apple a day and the khatir. Both great mixed drinks with great smell and taste. Most other people around us had wine and that definitely mixes better with the lamb (which looked like a huge portion btw) Service: a huge shout out to Eric who served us quickly and with utmost professionalism. He ran through the menu for both of us and made it easy to decide what to order for us first-timers. Atmosphere: if you like dim lit restaurants, this is the place for you. It also has a bar area that I can't tell you anything about. This is easily a place you try and tell yourself that you'll come back here as soon as you can afford to.

A very nice moroccan themed restaurant! The ambience was perfect with nice lighting. We started with harissa cashews which was sweet spicy quite flavourful. We had basteeya a special moroccan dish which is like a chicken pastry. Must try! My favourite And later had lamb shank which was amazing And topped up with yuzu custard. The ingredients like pepper and thyme might throw one off guard, but it was worth trying! The dessert flavour was very unique must try! The staff was very polite and celebrated the occasion. Good food, bad service, no acknowledgement of our special occasion. Overall, our experience at Aziza was fine. The interior is well appointed and I was impressed with the fact that the sound level was very well managed in such a large main dining room. The food was all very good. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and tasty. The biggest miss for me was the timing, which really took away from the experience. It took 15 minutes for the server to come to our table after we were sat and 30 minutes to get any food or drinks brought to our table. We ordered three small dishes and two mains. The three “small” dishes all came at the same time on enormous plates and made it very difficult to eat because there was absolutely no room on our table. No thought was given to how things should come out. Also, once the food had been eaten, it would have been nice to have someone come by and remove the empty dishes taking up so much space. Our plates (which we had to stack up on our own) were eventually picked up by the hostess. Our server came over some time later and said he was, “watching us from the other side of the room.” Uhh, ok, so you saw how uncomfortable we were the whole time and did nothing? Bizarre. It was also our seven year wedding anniversary and we noted this in our reservation and absolutely ZERO acknowledgement of the occasion was made at any point by any of the staff. So much for a special dinner. For such little effort on Aziza’s part, I would not make the effort to return.

Beautiful space, service is attentive but sometimes overbearing. Food was beautifully presented but it’s so dark in there we could barely see our food. Overall a decent experience. I felt a lot of dishes were sauce heavy which seemed odd as this cuisine usually feels more light and fresh yet flavorful and strong without being weighty. Felt our waitress was sort of pushy and misleading with ordering, she didn’t verify quantities for our table of 7 and would just double or triple items without asking us. Also felt she would serve and reach in front of our faces and lacked a bit of spatial awareness. She also sometimes spoke to us in Spanish which threw us off. Other wait staff were attentive and polite.

Great bar and cocktails and a pretty atmosphere. Definitely happy to have them in the Richmond. The menu doesn’t change often enough to keep me going more frequently. Last time we were there the food was over sugared, which was fine in general, but I didn’t like it on my lamb shank. It had a confectionary quality to it that took away from the lamb flavor. Aziza is a Moroccan gem that dazzled us from the moment we stepped in. Kudos to our waiter who delivered service with a side of warmth. Despite being early for our Saturday reservation, they swiftly seated us in the midst of the beautifully arranged dining space that promised an evening of culinary adventure. The back dining area, draped in calming blue hues, added a touch of coziness to the ambiance. As the Moroccan-infused journey began, we kicked things off with drinks, and my tequila cocktail set the tone perfectly. The starters, beef kafta and salmon, were like a flavor explosion on our palates. The kafta carried robust, savory notes, and the salmon's sauce was a masterpiece. A surprise star before the main act was the cornbread with harissa butter – absolutely divine. The main course brought the Basteeya, wrapped in a delicate puff pastry. While the filling, with a chicken confit base, leaned towards pork or lamb flavors. Although, I couldn't help but eye neighboring tables adorned with tantalizing dishes like buttermilk chicken and lamb shanks. A memorable culinary experience in the heart of the city.

Tried Aziza for brunch with friends, after seeing all the good review. It was a disappoint across the board. I joined our party after they'd been seated and when I walked in the host didn't smile or greet me, but instead gave me an incredulous look as i pointed to my already seated party. 3 or the 4 menus at our table were outdated, with incorrect ingredients, which caused confusion before we all realized what was going on. The server seemed knowledgeable about what dishes worked with various allergies and dietary restrictions. We ordered 3 mains and 3 sides, the consistency of the burrata in the burrata starter salad was bad, thin and mucus-like, with underripe pears. Even though we were clear about our order and the server confirmed everything again verbally, the one of the mains came out incorrect with add-on meat being added to the vegetarian dish, causing half our party to have to wait to eat until it could be remade correctly, and the other half to eat their food without their sides. The remade dish took a very long time and was still incorrect, missing a key ingredient noted on the menu. As an "apology" the server brought us more of their harissa cashews, we'd already ordered and not finished. The shakshuka was vinegary, tasted like BBQ sauce, and not very complex, the bread served with the burrata and shakshuka was over toasted and burned. The soft scrambled eggs were over-cooked. None of us bothered to finish anything we'd ordered, cause nothing was particularly good.

This place looks nice, I wonder if they have Moroccan cigars. However, I never went inside. Maps keeps saying I went here and I didn't. I saw some cool trash out side and went rummaging. Looked like someone already rummaged through it first though and got the lion's share. All that was left was some shelving and I think miscellaneous jewelry boxes in a large cardboard box. Not sure what the other stuff was. I've seen quite a few cache of trash that turned out to be a treasure trove of neat things along this stretch of Geary before, so I had to stop. That being said, I love Moroccan food, second only to Yemeni and Persian, so I'll definitely have to stop by here again.

We also ordered the little gem salad - incredibly fresh and great ingredients. The braised lamb shank cannot be missed if you like lamb. Their cornbread seems to be a crowd favorite and we saw many tables order it, however we didn’t have the stomach space. My friend ordered the basteeya as his main plate and the flavor is delicious, however I would recommend it as a plate to share because it is on the sweet side. It reminded me of a salty version of baklava, so good! I took my wife out for our 8th anniversary here. We typically like to stay at home, cook together and enjoy each other's presence, but my wife had gone here a couple times and indicated to me that I would love the food -- she was not wrong. Every meal had an aromatic blend between Moroccan and Arab spice, with --as they say, a California twist. In addition to the incredible, nuanced courses, the service really pushed the needle for us. Our waiter, Justin, really made us feel like special guests, and toasted with us and we were very grateful for his kindness. We shared the grilled shrimp, eggplant, and kefta, as appetizers, two orders of each, all excellent. For the mains we got the lamb shank, chicken, cous cous, and Branizno fish. The favorites were the lamb and the fish, but everything was hot and fresh and good. Desserts also good date cake, some kind of whipped cream thing and a fresh baked cookie that was very decent. We visited Aziza this past weekend for a milestone birthday dinner and while the food was certainly incredible, our experience was unfortunately tainted by the disappointing service we experienced. Our server was rude and standoffish towards us, would be annoyed by any questions we had, and bad-mouthed parts of the menu. The weirdest part of the night was when we asked to see a dessert menu, and he insisted on reciting it out loud. When we asked again to see a physical menu since we couldn’t remember what he said, he said “what? do you have questions or something?” in a very rude tone. The entire experience was awkward, but what was worst is that when they did bring the dessert, there was no candle like they had specifically assured me when I called earlier in the day. There was no mention at all of the birthday we were celebrating until after I finally complained to the manager, which then they did bring another dessert with a candle. It’s a shame because the food really is amazing, but this restaurant is doing itself a disservice by having poor service like this.

Came for brunch: pancakes (the chamomile infused maple syrup: Delicious, spongy and soaked up all the yummy butter), shakshuka (always a favorite of mine, great bread) and the eggs Benedict with the best brown butter hollandaise with the right amount of lemon). Great wine list, great espresso. Will be back to try dinner!

Went here for a last minute brunch and the place did not disappoint, the food was excellent, service was great and the ambience was very nice as well. We shares the salmon/beet appetizer, eggs benedict, shakshuka and the harissa chocolate chip cookies. Everything was soooo flavorful! I can only imagine was dinner must be like!!

Very very average and expensive restaurant! I ordered lamb shank, corn bread, dips! Only the corn bread was okayish. Not worth the money. Not a great customer service either.

Highly recommended for brunch! The Eggs Benedict with salmon had a perfectly cooked poached egg and the addition of spinach was genius, the shakshuka was the best I’ve ever had and pairing scrambled eggs with olive oil was a revelation. The ambience was modern and chic (especially the bar) and so was the coffee. Only downsides were the beghrir pancakes (tasted like saffron to me and would avoid), the service towards the end that got rather slow, and the less than expected attention to the restrooms. Easily top 5 brunch in SF for flavor - similar level as Kantine and Plain Jane, better than Plow. Tip: book before you get there!

Solid food - whole fish was great. However, the waiter referred to something as Israeli couscous. Not too appetizing ascribing our dinner to a brutal apartheid regime. You can call those things by their original names not colonized appropriative names.

The food is well spiced, the service (annoyingly) attentive but it is extremely overpriced. $22 for shakshuka (mainly chickpeas, tomatoes and eggs), $16 for a skimpy glass of weak Chardonnay; Basteeya (chicken pie) $28, meat dishes in the mid $40 range. It’s not worth the price. There are better restaurants at this price point in the Bay Area.

We had one of the most beautiful dinner at this quaint location. We were seated promptly on a Saturday night. The menu was interesting and wasn't pre fixed which I liked. We started with some wine and cocktails. They were refreshing. For starters, we took the cabbage dish as recommended and also the eggplant with pine nuts. They were both yum. For entrees, I had the lamb shank which was one of the best I have had in a long time. The meat was falling off the bones and was delicious. The family had chicken Bastilla and another chicken with their famous corn bread and a side of brocollini. The presentation was beautiful, more so the dishes were yummy. Moroccan with a modern twist. We ended with a date cake. I found it a little too sweet but overall all good. They also have us some complimentary drink as we were celebrating a milestone. I will definitely recommend this amazing restaurant. It was beautiful and the servers were very kind and the food was finger licking yum. Our sever, Gaby went above and beyond with her service. I would give more than 5 stars if possible.

An absolute gem of a place! Great service, great food. Cocktails were pretty disappointing. But the food. THE FOOD WAS GOOD. Get the dips with the bread. Lamb shank is worth mentioning as well.

My family and I were starving after a long day of activities, so we gave it a try to order from this restaurant for the first time. In a few words, the food was so delicious and tasty, and my children

Phenomenal food, some really interesting taste combinations. There’s a little something for anyone, no matter your preference. The prices are fair for the quality, and the cocktails are expertly craft
