I FINALLY have a NEIGHBORHOOD spot that I call my own !!! My GO TO restaurant ! And that saying a lot with as many great restaurants as Chicago has ! But I LOVE ❤️ the BYG and often go here several times a week ! Great food , friendly service and NICK and his family are Awesome !

My 3 friends & myself ordered for delivery the grilled tilapia dinner yesterday Fri 19th. FANTASTIC👍 The fish filets were so fresh healthy portions the dinner included tilapia, salad or soup & rice & grecian potatoe with garlic bread.

Great food, great customer service but the kitchen looks old and disgusting

My first time there today picking up 🍗🍗🐔🐔 at the end of the day. The chicken is soooopooo soft and tasty. Like another post mentioned the chicken flavor is soooo refreshing and clean. Does not feel greasy at all Will absolutely come back to try other items and of course, chicken 🍗🍗🍗🍗 Took this picture half way through munching the chicken... 😂😂😂

Usually great food and service (we frequently have dinner here) like everything everywhere else, sometimes not all is as expected. But that is a rarety. Great daily specials and drinks.

I absolutely love this place ! I’m here by myself or with my sales team at least 2 times a week . The food is great and the service is amazing . One thing I love is the owners and there incredible family. I’m here now and the owners kids just gave me a brownie for Father’s Day . If that doesn’t make you feel good what will . I highly recommend eating here you won’t be disappointed.

If you want a meal that tastes like your grandma made it, this is the place for you. I had lunch here and left full, energized, and satisfied. The food filled my stomach and did not leave any gross feeling in my stomach. Very fair priced for such a wholesome meal and I will definitely come back. The atmosphere is extremely family friendly. Nick (the owner) helped me pick a delicious meal and I left feeling biblically satisfied. This is going to turn into one of my regular spots. Great spot for childrens sports teams, family gatherings, work lunch, or even a solo lunch. I am quite impressed with what they have done with this restaurant!

One of the best restaurants in the area for a quick burger or Greek chicken. So far I have not had anything I didn’t like yet. Staff is friendly and service is prompt. Place has plenty of parking all the time and prices are very fair. This is one of the few places where I can truly say I get my moneys worth.

My sister and I always look forward coming here to eat. The food is so good it always hit the spot and of course the staff are super nice and sweet which makes the place so warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this place when you’re unsure where eat. Also the chicken skewer dinner is really good it’s my favorite I could eat this everyday also my sister loves her tuna sub she always orders that every time.

We had take-out so, I can't comment on the service and atmosphere. The salmon was nicely marinated and grilled, I don't think it needed the sauce. Our gyro kabob was seasoned well but dry. I'd rather have traditional gyro. The broccoli was very over cooked and an ugly color. Broccoli should be steamed or grilled and be vibrant green, not boiled and grey. The salad dressing is thick, unlike any Greek salad dressing I've had. It's more like a balsamic with mustard. The hummus unexpectedly had roasted red pepper, I'm not a fan of that.

Expensive for my budget, but worth it. I had the Philadelphia Cheesesteak sandwich. Wow. My friend had a Feta Burger and enjoyed it. Fries are good, too.

Self Service. Salmon sandwich to die for and chicken soup was very good.

The atmosphere in this restaurant indicates struggling w management and out of hand childcare issues. If you have to bring your kids to work you should do separate the corner from the customers dining space because it was very unappealing to eat around that space. I suggest you design a corner for children with a cozy couch and smaller table encloses with a see through screen. In order to enjoy your food first I needed an adequate atmosphere . Please address this issues ; the floors and bathroom were not very clean and there is a need for fresh coat of painting in places that you know.Too much dust above kitchen area..Filet mignon was overcooked , browny delicious, the pie was too loaded and gooey and drinks are too sweet.Staff is great!!!

Food is always on point ! Big portions, lovely staff great owner . Ever since I found this hidden gem the food has never been disappointing. I recommend Coming here you won’t regret it !! Also it is kid friendly 😊

BYG appears to be back to the ways they were before the pandemic of 2020. Their portions are generous again as before I felt there was major cutbacks in quality and quantity due to businesses suffering due to Covid. Loved the pork kebab (Souvlaki), tzatziki sauce along with the Greek potatoes and rice pilaf.

Been coming here since 2014, has been a family favorite for years. Such a huge menu and you can never go wrong with basically anything you choose.

Delicious and reasonably priced cuisine. My favourite restaurant for takeaway. It's delicious to try the Grecian chicken supper served with steamed broccoli, rice, and potatoes. Whatever option you select, though, you can be sure that the meal will be prepared to the highest standards and that you will love it. This is more than simply a quick meal business. This restaurant is family run and they take pride in their offerings and loyal patrons. Have fun!

I love this place, top 5 best ribs I’ve had in 40+ years of living hands down! Great staff, awesome menu and very affordable. I order a catered lunch from them almost monthly and will remain a loyal customer. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better lunch destination on the north side of Chicago from experience.

Chicken wings were. . . not good. Placed an order for wings, picked them up and drove 3 min home. The wings were texturally mushy and under-fried. Big disappointment. Bleu cheese was also super runny like it was watered down or something.

Their ordering on line still not friendly. So I gave up just call it in .

Nick, the owner is super friendly and his staff are great respectful and always smiling! Let me begin by telling you what the food I lthere's the some sandwich phenomenal, Love the grilled shrimp pita sandwich. I probably could just eat the grilled shrimp by themselves of meal. Thee best greek potatoes. I would never in A million years to think to order a roast beef sub sandwich...I'm not talking about a hot itailain beef (which is great here too) but regular roast beef sub sandwich delicious!! Try it you will be hooked!!

I've eaten here for a work lunch and my work has ordered catering from this restaurant and they are absolutely amazing. They were super helpful while we ordered the large amounts of food over the phone and they gave us a very reasonable rate. Our work lunch in the restaurant went very well. They have a wide variety of food and drink options. Staff is very kind and the food was incredible. I highly recommend the caesar salad.

We always enjoy our meals at backyard grill! Meats are grilled tender and juicy. Salads are fresh and service is always friendly and fast. A go to spot for sure with so many menu choices!

I liked the restaurant, very informal, clean and everything to make it a great place to eat. Their menu is extensive. I was amazed at all the choices. The staff was very friendly. My only two complaints: My combo beef and sausage was disappointing. It was very small. I expected it to be on Italian bread. It was very small and the beef was not seasoned but the Italian sausage was excellent and the fries were good. My other complaint is that there were no prices posted.

Had the gyro skewers always good flavor still even after so many years. My go to for lunch or dinner. Lemon rice with half Greek chicken and taters are always on point and will be my next meal. Ample seating and parking during lunch hours on a Monday. Enjoy

Backyard Grill is wonderful. It's one of the last family feel spots for a dog and a coke on the north side. The subs are out of this world!

I’ve been coming to Backyard Grill since I was in high school and let me tell you, to this very day the quality of food and atmosphere of the restaurant are still as delicious and cozy as ever. I highly recommend the Italian beef, anything off their salad bar, definitely the gyros and gyros plate, and their chicken kabob plate. Some things never change and it’s a good thing. Backyard Grill is and will forever be a Chicago staple.

Pulled in for lunch. A very complete menu on the wall with no prices. Just choose something familiar or try something new . The hummus sub was a great choice.

I ordered the Gyros Skewers Dinner with the rice pilaf and Greek potatoes to go and yeah this just became one of my top favorite places over here, that was so good.

Had dined here about 2yrs ago but hadn't returned because it looked like it had either closed or was only doing catering (based on the window sign). Tinted windows had pretty much prevented viewing the inner area while driving by which at times (along with only a couple of cars parked outside) made it look like there was nobody inside dining. We arrived about 2pm, no cars outside and I was sure they'd be either closed or we'd see just enough inside to support a catering business. To my surprise, they had a great billboard menu inside and more diners arrived shortly after us. I was going to order an Italian beef until I found out it's shipped in an not produced from scratch in-house. (Note: I personally find more flavor in Italian beef that's made in-house) So I opted to a Southwest burger, medium-well which was pretty good! The only thing you might want to consider before visiting, is that the posted menu does not list prices for any of the items.

I go here almost every week. They are quick and make it easy to order. The owner and the employees are real friendly. They have lot of options for food and it all is really good.

This place has a big menu on the wall with no price listed. I had to grab one of their to go menus to see the prices. After ordering, I got a non-itemized receipt. Comparing the menu prices, they over charged me $10. Pretty shady business practice. I ate their Greek salad with a gyro skewer, it was really good. The rest of the food was very disappointing. Side of broccoli was disgusting, it tasted like seafood. The wings had an odd tasting buffalo sauce. The blue cheese was the cheapest type you can buy. Not very tasty. It seems like do a handful of things right. Either way I would avoid this place.

Love the CHICKEN THIGH SKEWER DINNER with the rice pilaf, Greek potatoes and served with warm pita. This dinner is a generous portion of food that will satisfy your appetite. I recommend Backyard Grill!

I drove by this place a trillion times and never researched them until one night I was on my way to get kebabs from somewhere else, was lazy and decided to abort the mission. Some how decided to look them up randomly as I was driving by, by chance, and was not disappointed. Very glad that happened to be honest. Love the fact you can ala carte order their kebabs by the each rather than by the plate. Highly, highly recommend this place for everything.

My first time trying Backyard Grill and I have a great meal. So much food for $20. Don't listen to people that say they are rude. Their staff is awesome and very friendly, maybe some people need to change their manners. Thanks and I will be back again.

Great tasting and affordable food. My favourite take out restaurant. Try the Grecian chicken dinner with rice, potatoes, and steamed broccoli, it is fantastic. But no matter what you choose, know that it is going to be made with high standards for preparation and making certain you enjoy the food. This isn't just a fast food restaurant. It's a family owned restaurant that cares about their product and the returning customers. Enjoy!

Outside patio is nice when weather is good.

They try so hard to make little amount of money. You can raise the price a little. It would be sad if a place like this would be in trouble.

Outstanding wide array of food menu - skewers are very tasty, spinach pie is incredibly rich, and salad is very fresh. Having said, staff is not exactly friendly and, while free style soda machine with over 100 drinks is nice, $3 is a bit much. Also, prices are not listed on the menu so you won’t know how much your meals will cost until you are paying, which seems a bit deceptive.

This is my third time eating from this restaurant. I originally found out about this place through colleagues as I work close by at a university in the area. Today was my first time coming in person. Although I experienced the food being pretty good, I wasn’t impressed by the customer service. The manager/owner definitely made me feel unwelcomed. While waiting to order, be acknowledged, no greeting, no smile, low energy. It was very much a transaction and sent me on my way type of thing. I will never order from here again. Energy and great customer service can take you a long way. I’m not sure if he was having a bad day or hate that he works there. He was definitely giving me the energy of I’m just here because I have to and I don’t want to be bothered. I do hope that there’s improvement moving forward.

This is one of the best, if not the best. Everything I have had here is great. Sandwiches, ribs, etc, all good food in nice proportions. The cups they give you could be larger but otherwise no complaints.

Excellent variety, reasonable prices, very good and friendly service. I went for the first time two weeks ago, then tried it again last week. This will now become a weekly stop.

Chicken gyro was okay, it had a lot of meat. Wish they gave another Pita with all the meat they had.

The food was great the only problem was we were given semi warm french fries. I didn't ask for them to be replaced because we were already running late.

I came in to order traditional gyros. They did not have them, yet they were listed on the menu online. I was informed that what they now call a gyro is actually a kebob off of the skewer on a pita. I opted to go elsewhere as the sandwich would not meet my expectations.

I live 45 min away from this place but when I'm up here for work I try to stop every time. Top Notch! Excellent food, fresh, big portions, great quality, priced right, tons of selection, great staff, always full stomache when done.10 out of 10.

On the positive side, they served me even though it was close to closing time. But they didn't ask me if I wanted my Italian Beef sandwich dunked. The sandwich was dry and overpriced.

I can’t say enough good about the food and service. I ordered a family pack, I wanted it for Mother’s Day but BYG is closed on Sundays. I talked to Nick and we decided I could pick up on Saturday. Everything was packaged beautifully and easy for me to reheat. Demetra explained it all at pickup. The food was delicious and there was more than enough food. This was my first time ordering from them but definitely not the last. I highly recommend them. Thank you Nick and Demetra.

Their food is great. I really love the ribs, rice and potatoes. Whenever I have a party, this is one of the top places I order from.

This is a hidden gem. The roasted chicken is so good and feels homecooked. I love the soups, wished they published which ones they have each day. The Greek lemon one is soo good, I think it's on Saturdays? Also the lentil is delicious. I usually get half chicken, husband gets Italian beef. Kids get noodles or chicken tenders. All good and we usually have leftovers.

Good fresh sandwiches, tasty bread and crispy lettuce. Generous portions. Their fries are good, not too greasy.
