Second visit to Bala’s for lunch. Had the steak and cheese 12” sub. One of the Philly steak & cheese I’ve ever had with green peppers and onions. Will be back for lunch

Arguably one of the best pizza places you can go! Highly recommend the Hellboy-roni or Grandmas pizza. Staff is friendly and the pizza is as authentic as you can get!

I purchased a pizza last night it was great until I bit into the crust and there was a rock in it snapped my bridge in half.

We were on our way home and stopped in and had a slice of grandmas original and nyc deluxe and they were fantastic.! The sauce the crust, I’ll definitely be back

I initially had left a 5 star review on my first visit, but the last few times have been pretty subpar and inconsistent. More recently they were pretty rude about an issue that was 100% their fault. I won't be going back, there are other options that are better value and better treatment of customers who spend a lot of money for the value they actually get.

Ordered a specific type of calzone per thier ordering system and got what the cook wanted to make. I was tryingto make Balas a regular stop but the chef taught me that there was no need for that. Plus I got over charged for a gourmet calzone and got the basic, ,,,,,,,,,owner called to find out what happened and she assured me that this is going to be corrected. I appreciate she went the extra effort to find me and talk, !!! I will contiued to buy there.

Quality ingredients. Expertly prepared. This is the best pizza I've had in Northeast Florida. No contest. They have a couple of tables where you can dine in, but we are anxiously awaiting the opening of their second location near silverleaf which they said will have a larger dining area.. because, let's admit it, pizza is better when eaten hot, right out of the oven.

I honestly can’t say anything greater about balas than has already been said. But I choose to add my voice to the chorus of praise that they deserve. I grew up in a household filled with Bronx natives and they do/would LOVE Balas! I love Balas! My family loves Balas! You can’t go wrong. The staff is excellent, they work their a$$es off, and it shows. I’m so glad they are here and so is everyone else. Enjoy!

I’ve been going here since I moved to this area and their food has always been consistent. Their pizza is one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. The manager is also so sweet and professional. I talk this place up all the time. 10/10 recommend!

Finally, thin crispy pizza with no flop. The pizza is really damn good and the staff are fantastic. This place is worth a drive if you're looking for a lighter pizza that's not all doughy and a mess. The buffalo is especially delicious.

Best Pizza in Florida - loved every slice!

I'm not a fan, the place was very busy, obviously many people enjoy it. I thought the crust tasted like cardboard ( we ate there) and the sauce had no seasoning, tasted like tomato. $3 for every Xtra ingredient, made it pricey. Only 3 or 4 tables to sit at.

Amazing NY pizza!! Best in all of Jacksonville. Their family owned business is amazing . Quality of food , service, staff, and owners are the best. I feel like “ Norm” from cheers when I go there. Highly recommend. If you want great food go to Bala’s. Opening up in silver leaf this summer and already located in Bartram Springs

I initially posted about an unpleasant experience at Bala’s and within the hour I was contacted to learn more about my experience and how they can remedy the situation. I’ve only been to Bala’s Pizza a handful of times but the responsiveness and openness to feedback was welcoming and appreciated. The food quality was good and my family enjoys the triple threat which included a pizza, calzone, and garlic knots.

This place has the best NY style pizza . The crust is perfect with high quality toppings and very creative specialty pies . All the speciality pies are amazing, they even have slices and their customer service is exceptional. I highly recommend this place . It’s our family favorite. We go out of our way to get this pizza .

Wow! What a pizza! We had "The Triple Threat." Calzone was Bronx Bomber and pizza side was Good Fellas. This thing was not only huge, it was delicious! First time here. I have to be honest, there was no one there and the wait was a little longer then expected. Well! Look at this work of art, no wonder it took a little longer than a normal pizza. Quality ingredients (sauce, cheese, and toppings). Crust was great as well. At $30, this thing is worth every penny. The only disappointing thing, is the distance from my house... Highly recommend.

We've been ordering from here since the day they opened and have never been disappointed. Tonight we ordered a chicken wing pizza and substituted the ranch dressing with the Alfredo sauce (for no extra charge). The best buffalo wing pizza we've evet had and we're from Western New York!

This is by far the best pizza place in the Jacksonville area. With my family previously owning a restaurant that made pizzas and a Ponte Vedra native of 20+years, I can attest that there is no better pizza around. Always busy, always polite, and always good.

This pizza is AMAZING! Cannot be more happy that we finally found an authentic pizza place nearby that wasn't a chain restaurant. The food is excellent, and always hot and fresh when we order out. If you love pizza, you'll love this place. Cannot recommend it enough.

Best pizza joint in jacksonville

I did have a suboptimal first visit, but came back and tried it again and they are redeemed in my eyes. It's a great family owned business, with good food, quality ingredients, and are a must try for those in the area.

First time getting pizza from here, and, if I could give 10 stars I would. The grandma pie was amazing! So flavorful, and, crust was just amazing. Regular cheese pie was awesome as well. Slices were huge!

Place is amazing. Their food and service is on point! Must have come here 50 or 60 times now. They know me and my pizza by name. Messed up 1 time, they fixed the pizza ASAP and tried to give me the one they messed up. Hands down best tasting pizza in Jax or St. John’s in my opinion.

Ordered the gourmet Stromboli today. Excellent! I wish I would have come here sooner. The price was great, the employees were nice, it was ready at the exact time they said it would be and the taste was amazing! Great job Bala. We’ll definitely be back

Finally after four years,found a place that's actually good with flavor etc. Thanks to our neighbor.We love Tony's Pizza in Ponte Vedra, but too far now that we live off CR210.First time we had Bala's tonight...., very good!!! and is our new go to for pizza etc. Better than all the other pizza places we had in the area... I gave 4 stars because I never give 5.. to anyone..,A+.,, Very Very Good!!

Below average for New York or Philly. Probably slightly better than average for Jacksonville area. Nothing like the description. I spent an extra 10 minutes on the road to try for the first time. I wouldn’t do it again. There are lots of mediocre pizza, places in Jacksonville. this pizza is on the expensive side. They also thrust this tip obligation screen in your face when you pay…. next Time we get pizza, it will be closer to home or wait until we travel to an area with good pizza. no offense to Jacksonville dining. There is some very good seafood in this area.

I ordered a pick up order online. We ordered a pizza with two toppings rolls and a garden salad. Everything was delicious and service was wonderful. The lady at the front reviewed my order when we picked it up. My two year old son kept saying mmmm the whole time eating it. We will definitely be visiting again.

Tried this pizza for the first time last night. Not too long of a wait for 2 pies, 40 min. Was almost ready when they dropped my pie coming out of the oven, I saw the whole thing. The person was not paying attention but management did make it right and for that I do appreciate that. The pizza was the best I had do in FL in a long time. The Prez needs to review, very little flop (one bite- IYKYK). Gluten free pie was spot on!

Ordered a Pepperoni Pizza, and it was great. Only thing we didn't notice it had honey, therefore was a little bit too sweet for us, but definitely will be giving another try (without the honey) because we felt that all the other elements were perfect. Atmosphere when I went to pick it up was really nice and clean and there was a bunch of staff working around, which is indication that you will get the proper attention and speed you deserve.

Excellent pepperoni pizza, wings, and garlic knots. Order was accurate. Probably our new favorite place, as far as pizza goes. The manager on duty was great... she called back to follow up with me about a question I had and went above and beyond.

Been in Jacksonville for over a year (from CT) and couldn’t find decent pizza anywhere. Finally found this place, it’s not NY pizza but it’s close and the best pizza in the area in my humble New England opinion.

Dedicated Take Out pizza shop. Three small tables and minimal eat-in service. Pizza was good, probably a 7/10 for NY style.
