Pleasantly surprised by this place! The staff were amazing, both friendly and attentive. The hot roll was our favorite, though the lobster nachos were amazing too.

We really enjoyed the food and entire experience at Bar Harbor Lobster Pound. The food and atmosphere were great. Highly recommend the lobster nachos. The service was top notch and our food arrived so quickly. Laura came by to check on our table and suggested their blueberry pie at the ice cream boat. Great recommendation. Make sure you end the night here with blueberry pie and a scoop of the blueberry cheesecake!

If you don't go here, you'll miss out on one of the most enjoyable lobster spots in Maine. The lobsters are cooked outside, and you can actually watch as they get dunked in the giant pots alive. The staff were very enjoyable, as I got to take photos of the lobsters as they wiggled on top of each other. The food was a great experience for someone who never had lobster before. They arrange everything very nicely, and all of the other elements were delicious.

By far best lobster roll I’ve ever had - enjoyed both the house special and the buttered hot roll. Such a great atmosphere too - good music and outdoor games. Staff is all very friendly, go inside and ask to see the cotton candy lobster (he’s 1 in 100 million).

Definitely our favorite restaurant in Bar Harbor! We came here 3 times on our trip and it was so good every time. Got the house special lobster roll, butter lobster roll, and fish & chips. All delicious. Loved the environment here too very nice vibe outside. Would definitely recommend!!!

Had a fantastic lunch outside here. Kids had all 3 kid choices and they were tasty. Adults had house special rolls and they were awesome. Great, friendly place with tons of parking and so fun for families. Lily even let my kids each hold a lobster!

Great food place. Awesome atmosphere. The only knock I have is the portion sizes. My husband got the lobster roll. Should have paid 3+ for the fries because the chips did not fill him up. Kids got a shrimp basket. 8 shrimp for $25…

Bar Harbor Lobster Pound was recommended as a “must do” in Bar Harbor. It is top on the list for me! I had the lobster nachos (definitely a meal for 2) and they were amazing!! The atmosphere was very family friendly. We sat outdoors and the wait went quickly with lots of games to play while you wait. Clean and well managed.

It was on our list to get whole lobsters before we left Maine. Prices in Bar Harbor were pretty steep, so we found this gem on the outskirts. The pricing was more affordable and the outdoor seating area was perfect! Picnic tables set in a wooded setting. There was even some yard games for kids to play.

$75 for 3 items seems excessive, but it's a cute place. Food is just ok. It's a tourist trap, and they definitely know it. It's always busy.

This restaurant is hands down the best restaurant I’ve ever been to! All of their food was flavorful and so fresh!!!! I’m obsessed with the lobster tacos. Ate here 3 times in a row because of how delicious it was. The atmosphere was amazing and the ice cream shop was a cherry on top. The staff were sweet and extremely friendly (especially Laura in the gift shop!!). 1000/10 recommend! My only regret was not trying every single food on the menu!

We loved the food. Features fresh seafood and lobster which our family loved. Lobster nachos are amazing. The staff is so helpful, welcoming, and brought the food out quickly. There is space to sit outside and inside as well as a space for kids to play. Highly recommend eating here.

This was the best lobster meal we had during our entire trip to Maine, and in a delightful setting. The lobsters were so sweet, they were delish even without butter (although of course they came with butter). The accompaniments were also fantastic. We had chips and fries and coleslaw. I loved the salty seasoning and crispiness of both the fries and chips. And the Cole slaw was so good that I ate mine and wished I had more. The lobster roll was fantastic as well. We ate outside at picnic tables under light strings, with lovely music playing. People were enjoying the outdoor games including cornhole, connect 4, and ring toss. Lots of attention to detail in the design of this place, including wallpaper in the bathroom depicting elevation maps of Bar Harbor, and an adorable ice cream boat nearby for desert. Not only were the food and ambiance perfect, but the staff was great. We had a lovely conversation with Laura, who came to check on us partway through our meal, and shared that the owners also own a lobster business, so their lobsters are the freshest around. And it sure seemed that way to us. All around, a perfect Maine lobster experience!

Lobster bisque had one piece of meat, flavor lacking, was a very small container, estimated about 4 ounces, and they charged $14 . Scallops were tasty while warm, but I had to drain grease off with napkins before I could eat them. Outdoor seating had games and looked like it could be fun for a family.

This was the first lobster roll I had during my trip to Maine and I wanted to wait to give a review until I had tried a few others to compare to. Bar Harbor Lobster Pound was BY FAR MY FAVORITE!! I had the lobster roll with garlic aioli and my mouth is watering just thinking about. I cannot recommend this place enough. It’s a must stop!! And my sister got the crab cake since she doesn’t like lobster, and she said it was the best one of all the lobster places we tried. Also, the staff members were so sweet and kind. It was just an all around great experience.

Small indoor dining room, but there are plenty of outdoor picnic tables. Place your order at the window, and they'll bring your food to you.

The food here is excellent, being from NC lobster was a real treat, but the oysters were some of the best I’ve ever had and I eat a lot of oysters. Lobster 🦞 was so fresh!! They had the hot buttered lobster roll!! Atmosphere was so fun.. played a little corn hole while we waited for our Lobster Rolls. Bisque was 😋👌 !! Laura was so sweet, and helped clean up for us! Such a great crew there.

Best sea food and the atmosphere was amazing! Staff stopped by and helped us with recommendations, cleared our table and gave us a lesson on shell fish 101. The whole staff was attentive and friendly. 5 stars!!!

You order at the counter up front and then they bring your food out to your table. This place has the best lobster roll I had during my stay in Maine. They have a unique flavor and incredible tasting House special lobster roll and I’d eat it every day for a week if I could. Once you finish up your lobster roll, they have a dessert boat counter on site where you can get some ice cream, coffee, or blueberry pie. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area has lots of room around tables.

Honestly, this place is the best! We stopped on our way out of Bar Harbor on a whim and had the best food we had for our whole trip. Kids loved the food, and they were the best fish tacos I'd ever had. The strawberry lemonade was incredible and they had a great selection of can beverages including some of our favorites. The blueberry pie was the best I've ever had- a must!! But, what rivals the high quality, delicious food is the fantastic service and kind people working there. A nice guy in the gift shop introduced my kids to Bluey the blue lobster and he let my kids hold some lobsters! Also, the guys breaking down lobsters chatted with us and just everyone was so nice, helpful, and kind. It was awesome. I highly recommend this place!! We'll be back!!

Must stop on your way in or out of Bar Harbor. Food was amazing, best Lobster nachos I've ever seen. The mango salsa was phenomenal. Bisque was good as well (lots of lobster chunks) 🦞 We sat out back in the rear picnic area, very cool spot. Lots of games for the kids to play, music playing, great lights. After we finished dinner, we got ice cream from the boat. Such a cool stop. So glad we did it. Highly recommended 👌

Got the clam chatter, it was great. The workers let my 2 daughters hold lobsters which was amazing. And you must see the blue lobster in the tank.

We had the best meal here. Lots of lobster in the sandwiches. We tried all three lobster rolls - delicious! Wonderful ambiance with tables under lights surrounded by tall trees. Finished off the meal with a hefty scoop of ice cream and a dash of espresso. Oh and an affogato. Friendly, talkative and happy staff as well. Thanks for a great meal!

Arrived at the Bar Harbor Lobster Pound after a long day at Acadia. We didn’t know what to expect, but couldn’t have had a more enjoyable experience than we did. The girl at the counter was so friendly that our kids even commented about it. The lobster nachos caught our eye and we just had to try them. They were the best nachos of any kind that several people in our party have ever had. We also tried the fried calamari appetizer, and they delivered as well. Our friend had the shrimp tacos and raved about them. We each had a warm, with butter lobster roll and our socks were knocked clean off. For dessert, we went to the ice cream boat beside the building and split a piece of the blueberry pie a la mode, which was hot and fresh. After eating, we went into the gift shop area. Laura, the employee there, got out a lobster for our kids to hold and to take pictures with. She showed us their blue-shelled lobster in a tank beside the register and was eager to talk about the lobsters, the restaurant, and was so engaging and enthusiastic that it made our whole experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing that way, as it was a vacation highlight for us.

I’ve never had lobster before. I like shrimp and have had crawfish. Being in town required the ingesting of this local cuisine. The staff recommended the lobster tacos. These were cooked great, were packed full of flavor and definitely worth diving into. Some others in the family got the lobster nacho tray and the lobster roll. They have some regular food items for the landitarians (non-seafood eaters) among you and also a kids menu. They have local craft brews, a small gift shop and you can watch them cook and prep the lobster. Before you leave, stop by their boat and grab some ice cream or blueberry pie a la mode! I may have to stop here before leaving to enjoy some more fresh lobster, friendly staff and cozy environment!!

Ate dinner here two nights in a row with my family. We had fish and chips, shrimp basket, shrimp tacos and lobster dinner. Service A+ and food A+. Family atmosphere- lovely outdoor dining with optional indoor dining. And the blueberry pie is a must ! We spoke with one of the employees Laura for a while; she came to check on our dining experience. Lovely place. Add this to you places to eat. You won’t be disappointed.

If you’re in Bar Harbor, you MUST visit this lobster haven! The lobster roll here is a masterpiece fresh, succulent lobster meat piled high in a perfectly brioche bun, oh and that sauce!! It doesn't stop there; their lobster nachos are a game-changer! Crispy tortilla chips smothered in rich cheese, topped with generous chunks of lobster, and a perfect blend of mango salsa making this dish unforgettable!! The atmosphere is cozy, I enjoyed playing corn hole and the service is impeccable. Truly a top-notch dining experience for any seafood lover!

Only reason I gave 4 stars is that the tables are sticky and the lobster is very expensive even though it’s in season. We got it for less than $7/lb but got it boiled here with a piece of corn and it was over $40

This is the one, highly recommend!!! The food here is amazing, the soup, the whole lobster, the kid's meals, the rolls, they’re all good. But the service and atmosphere was also the best. They have a great selection of craft beers, seltzers, and ciders. They even have an ice cream boat. Dining is available inside and outside. Yard games are available outside. Plus, they even let my kids take a photo holding the lobsters. We enjoyed everything about our experience here at Bar Harbor Lobster Pound!

Lobster roll with aioli was very good!

Of course had to stop and get a lobster roll from this place. Its so inviting, we had to go! We have had lobster 5 different times on our trip and bar harbor lobster pound was by far our favorite. I got the house special lobster which was so so amazing! So fresh, juicy, buttery, and the garlic aïoli sauce is perfect! You need to try this place out if you come here!

Great place for a family, at lunch time the line moved quickly, the food was ready quickly and there are yard games for the kids to play while they waited for the food. Our food was delicious, the best lobster we have had yet this trip! After we ate we stopped to watch them prepare the lobster for other costumes, and the lobstermen took the time to answer our sons questions and show them what he was doing. When we went into the store we had the opportunity to see the jumbo lobster and even hold it. Our boys were in heaven! Definitely was a wonderful experience!

Absolutely LOVED the food and vibe here. The fish tacos were hands down the best we’ve ever had - we are still dreaming about them & the lobster roll was fantastic too. Also, the strawberry ice cream was out of this world. Can’t wait to come back next time we are in bar harbor!

Amazing! After eating chewy and stringy lobster rolls twice, this place nailed it! The lobster nachos and shrimp tacos are so flavorful and fresh! Definitely our favorite place in Bar Harbor!

Lobster: 5 stars. Large. Served hot. Delicious. Other food: mixed reviews but overall good Lobster grilled cheese: delicious Lobster bisque: tasted good but not like real lobster bisque. Thin. Lobster nachos: yummy Coleslaw: yummy Fried seafood platter: very disappointed. mostly a plate of chips. Had to search to find very little meat Twin lobster platter: delicious but minimal sides. If you are one person who wants two lobsters with sides this is perfect. If you are two people sharing this, you will get one small corn on the cob and one small cup of coleslaw. I guess we should have paid closer attention to order extra sides Service: 4 stars. Friendly. Waitress spilled one of our $10 beers, didn't offer anything.

This place is a MUST. Food is fantastic. The lobster is perfectly cooked - juicy, sweet, and tender. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. The staff is attentive, helpful, and kind! Seriously, this is an experience that can’t be missed! If the lobster grilled cheese is on special, it’s to die for!

Had the hot lobster roll. It was fantastic. Although being from PA, I don't have much to compare it to. We did think it was a little pricey. We got two hotdog, Bun sized hot lobster rolls, 1 coleslaw, 1 iced tea, and 1 strawberry lemonade for around $76.00. But as I said, I have nothing to go by. Outside, they sell ice cream, yes, they have pup cups too. They also had blueberry ice cream.

Got there house special! It was awful the clams were burnt the haddock bits where more like bits n under cooked. Scallops where under cooked when I asked for extra cooked not burnt shrimp where freezer burnt tasting n to top it off it comes in a container half the size of other takeouts n it was almost 60 dollars with 2 drinks. No one ate it we tossed it n went else where. N asking for a tip before you even take my money 🤑

We had all the lobster rolls and the lobster dinner. My daughter had the vegetarian tacos, and everything was fantastic. Great meal, highly recommend and worth the time.

$29 Taste of Maine was literally 60% old tasting fries and the seafood was dry and tasteless. The fried clams were so chewy, they are inedible. Losbter roll was small with average flavor, had much much better over the past few days. Thoroughly disappointed!!!!!!!!!

Very friendly service and great atmosphere! It was getting dark when we were there so it looked very cozy with the lights in the forest. The ice cream boat was amazing too! Definitely try the fish tacos with grilled fish and have the kids share a fish and chips. It’s the best I’ve ever tasted!
