Basoms used to be my favorite restirant in the area. Now they charge for "bread service" which I find ridiculous especially when the server took my bread basket from the table without asking if I was done or even if I wanted a box - I was not done. As pricey as the menu already is, to charge for bread is tacky in my opinion.

Me and my fiance came for our first time for his birthday we had a great experience the food was amazing as well as the drinks the service was perfect! Our sever was jack he was very nice and helpful and gave us alot of information about the history of the place, it was all out a great experience I definitely recommend checking it out! We were also given a tour of the place and it's beautiful! They have areas that are more secluded and personal and they have upstairs with live entertainment it's a place for everyone 😁

We didn’t make reservations but were able to be seated quickly. The waiter asked questions and provided recommendations per our preferences. Excellent wine choices based off of preference and tastes, ribeye and prime rib were done incredibly well (and we’re picky). The cream corn is “not your school cafeteria” corn. So right. It was DELICIOUS. Lobster bisque was the perfect addition. Wonderful pick for our anniversary dinner.

I recently dined at Bascom’s Chop House and was quite disappointed with the experience. For the price, I expected much better quality and portion sizes. The fries tasted like typical frozen french fries, not fresh cut, which was underwhelming. The side of asparagus that came with the meal consisted of only two spears, which is quite stingy. Additionally, they charge $9 for an extra side of asparagus, which is outrageous considering you can buy a whole bundle for around $3.99 at the store! The portions for other items were also very small. The Caesar salad was tiny, and to top it off, you have to pay for bread, which is not complimentary. If you want a sandwich meal, you have to pay separately and additionally for fries as a side, which is ridiculous. Overall, the food did not live up to the high prices, and I left feeling unsatisfied. I would not recommend Bascom’s Chop House if you’re looking for good value for your money. To top things off, it's company policy to only have two checks per table maximum; therefore, if you want to bring a big family, plan on combining your money or skip this altogether and choose a more accommodating location.

Completely disappointed with the entire experience that we had. Have lived in the area for over 40 years and heard lots of good reviews about Bascom's but never gone before. I was beyond shocked at the prices on the menu, with most entree's not even including a side. Bread, salad any sides and add ons were a separate selection and price. The prime rib appeared burnt on the outside and completely raw. The Chicken Marsala, which at $26 and was one of the cheaper options, included mashed potatoes. The taste was more of a sweeter sauce, which was a little odd, but the worst part was the dish had ONE mushroom on the entire plate and that even to have been cut in half of a larger mushroom. The server was very nice and did make sure to take care of the table.

I took one star off the atmosphere simply because when we were there for lunch it was a bit loud, and our table of 6 leaned in to hear the business we had to cover at our meeting.

Bascom's was great! Been there many times. This was for my sister's birthday. We had a table in an alcove by ourselves. Kimberly, our server, was very good! My fiancee and I got a dinner for two special. A tenderloin and a lobster tail, two salads and two sides. Was excellent. My sister and her husband got a filet and a ribeye. Everything was cooked perfectly. Our dessert was a deconstructed cannoli. Superb!

The atmosphere was great. We loved the ambience of the restaurant. Our main complaint was with the timing of everything. We had a reservation at 6, didn’t get our dinner until 2 hours later, and were there for a total of 3 hours as a party of 4. We went for my friend’s birthday (notated on the reservation) and they didn’t do anything special for that or mention it. The food was good. Not GREAT for the price. We had high expectations going in, because we’ve heard great things about the food. The broccolini just tasted like it was boiled and then slapped with melted Gouda. Not much flavor in anything we tried besides the cheese. We will be sticking with Eddie V’s from now on when it comes to value of the meal and service.

First off we must express our sincere thanks to our server, Juliano, he was the bomb! Great sense of humor, very knowledgeable of the menu and very efficient and never once rushed us. We were celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary and he made it so enjoyable! The food was exceptional too! I had the salmon, hubby the almond crusted grouper. Hubby had a delicious craft beer and I had an Italian pino grigio that was so smooth and delicious. We ended with a very decadent Dessert, pictured below. We highly recommend this place for your next date night! We will be back next visit to the Tampa Bay Area!

First off our server, Jiuliano, was exceptional! He has such a great sense of humor and made our 30th wedding anniversary celebration so enjoyable! The food was exceptional as well, I had the salmon and hubby had the almond crusted grouper. I had an Italian Pino Grigio and hubby a delicious Anita springs craft beer. Then to top it off we were given a delicious chocolate tort decadent dessert… See the picture below. we highly recommend this place whether it’s just a casual dining experience you want or very special date night. We love the dining experience at Bascom’s! They never disappoint, tonight Tee was an our server and she was a delight. I am a huge fan of their steak, they are of course a steakhouse and my fillet was cooked to perfection. My husband had had a fettuccine dish with I believe short ribs, tomato and mushrooms minus the mushrooms and it was delicious and enough for 2. The service team is impeccable as always. If you are looking for the best quality food and a fine dining experience don’t hesitate to try Bascom’s they never disappoint.

Wow, Wow, Wow! We booked Bascom’s Chop House several months ago, knowing we would be in the area for my son’s 13th birthday and he requested a “white tablecloth” dinner with steak! Unfortunately, Debby decided to come visit the area, however, the restaurant was open and ready for us. From start to finish, the food and service was fantastic! From bread to soup, to salad, to the main course, all the way to my son’s birthday key-lime pie, everything was perfect!!!

You have to pay for a bread basket? Seriously? Service was ok, food took a LONG time. Dining room was freezing. Water was dripping on the table from the A/C vents. The pour for a glass of wine is exactly 4 oz: If you're lucky. Who does that anymore? Dinner was good, but those other things cause me to pause before rebooking. Bascom's needs to decide what they want to be. Mediocre or better.

This is a true old school Chophouse. Complete with perfect food, well trained friendly staff and the allure of old reminding you what dining out should be. My wife and I had the most perfect dinner in the Crystal Room on the second floor. Far from the noise of the main bar, but close to the singer. Who doesn't enjoy a little Rat Pack when dining with their Lady. The Sommelier (Cory) led us to a perfect sparkling wine from England (Henners). It was so good I have been in touch with the vineyard. The food was exquisitely prepared and not a single detail was missed. I ordered a Japanese A5 wagyu ribeye top cap steak. I can't begin to tell you how mouth-watering delicious this was. It was off menu, so if you have the chance I highly recommend it. It even came accompanied by a gold napkin and gold fork. Like I said, the details did not stop.

Smoked Gouda Mac and cheese was amazing as was the crème brûlée. We dined upstairs which was quieter - look forward to trying the bar area next time for cocktails and apps. The food and service could not have been better! My sons both ordered the New Zealand Wagyu Ribeye. I tried it and it had so much flavor and melted in your mouth. It will be my go-to meal next time I am there. We had oysters Rockefeller and shrimp cocktail to start and both were on point. Blueberry cheesecake was delicious. I highly recommend.

My friends have never been to Bascom’s so we dined here on Sunday as soon as they opened at 4pm. Our server Frost treated us like royalty and made some very good suggestions. We paid the $4 for bread service which was totally worth it as the butter and chimichurri sauce were perfect accompaniments to the warm bread. The 14oz ribeye with sherry pepper cream sauce my friend ordered was cooked perfectly (she is an expert on steak cookery) and she absolutely raved about the Yukon gold potato gratinee. My other friend had the 6oz filet and a baked potato the size of a football and loved both. I enjoyed the very flavorful 12oz queen cut prime rib (also cooked perfectly) along with the decadent spinach au gratin. The girls finished with a slice of key lime pie and the Bascoms cannoli which they were not able to finish and gladly took home to finish later. This was my third time to Bascoms and I look forward to coming again in the very near future.

For a special anniversary, we wanted to dine some where other than our regular spots in St Pete, and Bascom's seemed a good choice. We had an early reservation and arrived to a fairly quiet restaurant. The eventing started out great when our server Allen took over. He was great, and even after the evening rush began was able to provide personal attention. I had an appetizer of a dozen oysters and wife had Blackened Seared Ahi. The compressed watermelon on that app was incredibly good. In hindsight, I should have ordered a Filet rather than a Strip Steak, as I could have used an electric knife or small chain saw to cut the Strip that I received. Once I managed to cut into it, it was cooked to perfection and tender but almost void of flavor. I added a lobster tail, which was prepared well. Wife ordered baked grouper and added a scallop. The grouper was OK and the scallop slightly undercooked. She had added Grilled Asparagus Oscar with lump crab and hollandaise, which she enjoyed. Our desserts were good. The restaurant was very loud by 6:00, making it difficult to carry on a conversation. If we had received this meal at a chain steak house (at 1/3 the price) I would had rated it as average. In a restaurant with the reputation of Bascom's, it was a disappointment. The service was the highlight of the evening. Live and learn.

One of the best places to eat in Tampa Bay area. Great food, the best meatloaf ever. Great for lunch or dinner, the service is top notch, these folks care and it shows. Never a bad meal, sit at the bar or in the dining room, either way you will not be disappointed. You pay a little more but it's worth it, for a lunch burger you aren't paying much more than fast food and it's way better.
