This place is so charming inside. The staff is fantastic, and my sandwich was amazing. Fresh cookies look great as well. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

Went to Basil’s today for lunch w/ my mother…. Great atmosphere! Comfortable indoor seating! Very tasty food! Warm and friendly staff! Reasonable menu prices! Very cozy and charming!

It's a nice little establishment, although it's overpriced for small portions doesn't come with any sides, I also felt like I was getting judged and stared at by the people in there. The owner was nice but the cashier was given me looks, maybe because I was a person of color or the way I was dressed so I felt a little uncomfortable. But overall nice might go back :D

That sandwich was so good. The sauce & meat(Prosciutto & ham) had excellent flavor. The bread toasted to perfection. They accidentally didn't cook enough fries for my order, one of the workers had said & offered me a free cookie to compensate so I wouldn't have to wait. To be fair, I would've been OK with the fries. Yes it was on the smaller side but, being a first time costumer, I wouldn't have known. The simple fact they owned up about it, before my meal was given, is SUPERB service. Thank you.

Such a cute and out of the way place. Beautiful patio and courtyard is secluded under oak trees and a high walled brick enclosure. Indoor dining is intimate and very European cafe feeling. Went for lunch and had a great sandwich on homemade rolls! Has a small gift shop as well! Staff was very friendly and engaging....they clearly like what they are doing. Coming back for Breakfast!!!

Awesome place. Limited table space first come first serve. It's counter service And the menu is small, but everything is delicious. High quality breads with meat piled high give you a great bang for your buck. The market in the back is filled with cool ceramics and home decor items, as well as fragrances and lotions.

Absolutely adore Basel's Market! It is such a cute and friendly spot right by LSU's campus. Everyone is so sweet and kind - you just feel at home. Plus, the food is fresh, tasty, and served with a smile!

The cutest lunch spot in Baton Rouge!

Basel’s is truly an original up and coming spot for breakfast and lunch in Baton Rouge. The atmosphere is fantastic with music playing inside the market and on the porch. You’ll find people buzzing through the gift shop or enjoying a nice lunch on the patio. I love getting my day started with a cup of coffee and one of Kayln’s world famous country style biscuits. I recommend Basel’s to anyone looking for an authentic experience for breakfast and lunch. It’s safe to say I’ll be a customer for life.

Went with my sister today....love the place! Great music. Sat by the fireplace. They need to remove the bell that rings continuously everytime somebody goes in & out....so annoying 😒 we ordered courtyard salads. Big disappointment, look more like a side salad! I had no nuts in mine. Sis had one.....so blah, the chicken was over cooked & dry. Salad dressing was green goddess, another disappointment! I hope they make it, because it's adorable. We may go back and try breakfast.

My husband and I enjoyed our sandwiches. I got the sage, which was really good. I would get it again next time. We also got a bowl of fruit and two drinks. The fruit was really fresh. Overall, we found it a nice place to go for lunch. It is a very cute atmosphere too. However, I do think it was a bit overpriced. We paid $30 for our lunch and didn’t really get that much. I think they should give you a small side of something with the sandwich.

Everything about Basel's Market is beyond fabulous - Eurochic & tastefully decorated. The mood is wonderful, the music is even better, and the food hits the spot every time! Kalyn and her team have brought something quite lovely to Baton Rouge - I can't wait to see it continue to blossom.
