The roast beef poboy is great. The grilled veggies is a dish to try.

I usually have a good experience there but today I'm kind of angry. I asked for an egg and cheese biscuit because I don't eat pork. I don't know if it was a mistake or a joke because I look like a Muslim, but I had bacon on my sandwich. I specifically said I don't eat meat, so i wouldn't get any. I wanted cheese, and I didn't even get cheese. I WAS EVEN CHARGED EXTRA FOR CHEESE. BUT I just got lots of bacon on both sandwiches. And I was already home when i checked and I didn't want to go back.

Very nice service! Nice, clean, new-looking dining room. Good food and an exceptional value at just $7.00 for breakfast with no tipping allowed.

I am particularly fond of the red beans and rice, as well as the fried shrimp. The pecan tarts are also quite delicious, and I would recommend trying the sweet potato turnover as well.

The breakfast was not good the eggs were so greasy and watery it was making all the food on the plate soggy. I couldn’t eat anything cause I was so grossed out. I do not recommend eating their breakfast. Their lunch might be good but I plan on never going back. The place was nice though and the people were nice, I just wish the food was a little better cause I would love to support them.

The service is always good. The food is just right and the atmosphere inside is nice I love going and supporting them.

5 stars are not enough. Prices are reasonable, food is great, and the service is fast. Most of all this restaurant supports people with special needs. Awsome food and service best restraunt on this side town hands down

I was surprised at the serving size of the 1/2&1/2 fish and shrimp platter. Huge! I ate all of the seafood and was left with no room for the sweet potato fries or dinner roll.

Our server was on point! Food was served hot and it was delicious.😊

It was our first time there, packet for lunch crowd, and they had that place running smooth!! They food tasted awesome and the service was wonderful!! Will eat there often and highly recommend Bayou Country Cafe to all my friends!!

Had Breakfast there last week.. the eggs was horrible very rubbery. Hash browns were very mushy. Will not be going back.

Five stars is not enough. We just picked it from a list. Turns out most of the staff are disabled in some way or another. Menu is sparse because the staff has some disability. But the food offerings were excellent. One of our servers was deaf, but he was proud to serve us. So glad we chose this place.

awesome good priced breakfast with an exceptional staff

New beautiful building with lots of potential. This is my critical city boy review, however, I suspect this place would be considered perfect by most older houma crowd. If you can sit outside, it's situated next to a park, unfortunately they made seating area on the major street side, but it's still nice seeing the morning mist and flowers. The breakfast menu is limited and plain, not for the Cajun seeker. Nice crispy hash browns. The food came out room temperature, not hot. The food comes out fast, and biscuits tasted a little microwaved. The men's yurinal stand is about 6" too tight. One big segment I believe the place is missing, the internet Cafe, I'd like to come back to have bignet and coffee and get to work, but they don't offer their wifi. It's nice for family cause of nice environment, but I don't see myself coming back cause I like seasons and flavor. Oh the water doesnt taste filtered. Brand new place, but seems like an absent investor made this or they're still ramping up after rough times from IDA. DEFINITELY GO FOR biegnets, because they're cheap compared to other places in houma

Really aweasome Food and atmosphere , good price value for you food , everything I ate here is amazing . Fast chains drive thru no comparison..... I wish they would be open for supper time , these other restaurants around this area are too pricey ..

Mother and Son lunch date, we had a really good time, we enjoyed the food and definitely enjoyed our service from our wonderful waitress, the reason I like this place is because of the opportunities it offers for everyone to work they don’t discriminate against anyone with disabilities.

We love getting lunches from the cafe … every Friday. The food is always good. They did have an issue with the portion size being WAY too small for a while, but it seems like that issue has been remedied. We always loved going in and seeing all the employees with a smile.

Great atmosphere and it was an enjoyable experience

This place is crazy! First ever experience in an unusually busy place during the midweek lunch hours, where I got the food within minutes of stepping in, and then (after I was fed)had to stand in queue to pay. I was very confused needless to say, and tried to explain multiple times that I ate already and just trying to pay before I leave. The staff were adamant, I had to get in line like everyone else. Who does that? Well clearly no one, while I think everyone should. I was much happy standing in line in a full stomach. Oh also, I still think they made a mistake that my lunch with dessert was only $5. I didn’t even get a chance to tip. Kind of explains the overflowing crowd on a Wednesday during lunch hours.

The best place in houma for lunch! Food is excellent. Serving size cannot be matched.

Quite possibly the best Cajun cafe for authentic and true down home (momma’s kitchen) flavor. No commercial over seasoned or over gourmet (cooking school) recipes here. The shrimp stew is incredible. The TARC staff add a wonderful touch to the experience.

Extremely clean cafe. Staff were all wearing masks and sanitizing often. The service was good and the food was delicious.

Service was ok. The friend catfish is battered like fried which was very weird flavor. Shrimp po boy was over cooked so it was tough.

Bayou Country Cafe is one of Houma’s brand new restaurants. It’s an authentic Cajun Country building with friendly and outgoing staff. What’s better is that the food is excellent. They serve traditional Cajun plate lunches, along excellent hamburgers, sandwiches, and more. TARC “The Arc of Houma” fulfills a wonderful mission; providing training, income, and purpose to some of our community’s challenged citizens. That said, any business would find success with the enthusiasm and attention to detail that customers receive here. Go try out Bayou Country Cafe and I promise you’ll be back!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. My mother, 4 year old ASD son and I had lunch here after many Drs appts. My son found the place a bit overwhelming and so he started acting out. I had to take him outside and not a single person acted cross towards him at all. He spent his time outside running and stimming as he does and other than suggestions on where I can go for help we were given the space needed for him to be able to settle down. We were even able to go back in after he calmed down for him to actually eat some and pay and leave. I will be back there again. I have had nothing but understanding voices anytime I'm in Houma with my son. I'm contemplating relocating with him there once I can afford the move.

Great place to sample biegnets and have a good breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Plus, buy a painting, or something from the gift shop, and support special needs services and social programs set up for people living with disability.

Excellent food for a good price

The Roast Beef Poboy, Roast Beef on a Bun and the Tea Cookies where delicious. The Service was totally awesome and a very pleasant environment. The Food Portions are generous and very well prepared. If your on the Eastside of Houma Stop in well worth it.

Friendly enthusiastic workers, excellent food, portions and prices are amazing! These individuals grow some of the foods that are used too. Highly recommend you give it a try!

The Lunches are 😋 DELICIOUS... Large portions & not expensive at all.... Southern cooking like your Grandma cooks... Employees are very friendly & polite.. Different meals are prepared dailey Red Beans & Sausage are available every day also....

First time eating there and at me just tell ya it was AMAZING! Service with a smile and small conversation. The food was fabulous! I got fried jumbo shrimp and fish. You get plenty and for a very reasonable price!

We eat there a lot! Very friendly workers ,nice clean atmosphere and best of all everything we have tried has been GREAT! Reasonable price for a meal.Also have extra goodies they sell ,you are bound to like something.Oh yea forgot to mention get free hugs once ya been there a few times,they make ya feel like family!Please give them a try!

When I went into the gift shop & restaurant, I immediately felt the warmth & hospitality. The workers were nice & one of the workers shook my hand with a huge smile on his face. The TARC staff is definitely making a difference, one life @ a time.🙌
