We love Benja! The Spicy Basil is our go-to and it never disappoints! And the Tom Kha Kai soup has to be one of the best food dishes offered in all of St. George! It will have you begging for more! 🍜The location in Ancestor Square makes it a fun date night dinner, and the service has been consistently great every time! We’ll be back!

Favorite thai food in st George. I'm a local and this is my go to restaurant for pad thai and curry. Love it every time!

The food is very under seasoned, borderline bland. The sushi was not worth the price. The tuna tasted as if it came out of a can. Overall, the food is overpriced and underwhelming

Waited way to long. Sure it's short staffed. Also, we got our order way wrong. Used to be the go to place now, not so much.

Was really excited to try this place and it’s sad to say that it was a very disappointing experience. The wait was quoted shorter than we sat with no updates. Took awhile for our server to come over and once we dropped the food, she was nonexistent. We had to ask every-time we needed something for the other server. The food was nothing special, 95% of the rolls consisted of shrimp tempura, there wasn’t much selection in fish.

I had the cashew nut here and I THINK THE OTHER Benjs in town was better and gave you more.

Shrimp Pad Thai: no such thing as spicy here. Ordered level 5. It was incredibly mild. Realized after they used crushed red pepper as their spice. The shrimp was over cooked and a little funny tasting. There was also a lot of tofu in my dish which I wasn’t expecting. I had to ask for a spice rack which had peanuts, crushed red pepper, and chili sauce. That helped the food taste better. Philly Roll: didn’t notice they swapped the avocado for cucumbers until after I took a bite. It was otherwise ok sushi. Nothing to run here for. Diet Dr. pepper tasted a little watered down. Just a personal preference. Server was great. Atmosphere is great. A good little spot for the area. Probably as good as it gets for pad Thai in the area.

My food was good with good flavor. I had the lettuce wraps and it was enough for a great appetizer to share. For my main course, I had orange chicken. It was fresh tasting and very good. They also give you a large dish of white rice which was nice. Great food and service.

Decided to try this place for lunch today because it had great reviews.I ordered the cashew shrimp medium level 3. What I received was a plate full of stir fried green pepper and onion, with a couple carrot slices in what looked and tasted like thin brown gravy with absolutely no flavor or spice/heat of any kind. They generously include 4 very small shrimp and a wad of rice. This may be the worst meal I've ever eaten. Hopefully I was just unlucky but I don't think I'll give it another try.

The food is excellent. Our server made the experience so nice. This is my favorite restaurant in St. George.

We were visiting from Phoenix. The restaurant is quite good. Enjoyed the atmosphere and food was very good. We had pad thai and lard nah.

The Massaman curry was delicious definitely our favorite dish. The papaya salad was also good and very large. It was my birthday and their service made the day special!

Returned here at 6:30 on a Sunday eve ... Literally 2 patrons in the whole place ... And yet we sat for an extended period of time with no one taking our order 🙄 I can't imagine why the place is empty🤦

The last two visits, both the wife and I agree the food just isn't as good as it used to be.

Food was great and flavorful! The service was terrible our server didn’t ask us for our drink orders or bring out waters until we flagged someone down to get their attention after waiting 20 min. When they brought out our food we had pass around our own food and they never came back to fill up drinks. When we finished we had to flag down our waitress again after waiting another 20-30 min to bring us our checks. Our waitress brought the checks and handed them to one person and said “here that’s your job to pass these around” and rolled her eyes at us. Not friendly staff at all, most the time they were talking to eachother at the front desk not paying attention to their tables. Food was amazing but the service ruined it for us. We got the Vegas roll, red dragon roll, a few other rolls, curry, and orange chicken.

We ordered takeout, spicy fried rice was definitely NOT spicy and very disappointing. Giving them 4 stars because the food was not bad, but very disappointing for a Thai restaurant.

The sushi here was excellent! I would highly recommend the Ikura Sashimi it had a really nice taste to it. I would have rated you guys 5-stars but the portions could be a little bigger. Specifically the 7 piece Sushi meal the cuts I thought were too small and not thick enough.

We love Thai, so we asked around for the best Thai restaurant in St. George and multiple people told us to go to Benja's. If this is the best Thai in St. George, I'm sooo sad. The food was just meh. It was wasn't bad, don't get me wrong, but not a lot of flavor. The restaurant is super cute, one of those converted old pioneer homes. And the service was pretty good too. It was just the food, very bland. We've definitely had better.

The food is delicious, the setting is cozy, and the service is great.

Top tip is go midweek to be seated immediately and definitely try the red curry or pad thai - both excellent. Sushi also great my only qualm this time round was our server Orion was hugely overworked and the sushi took a long time - but awesome as always Rob

Love love love this restaurant. One of our favorite go to places and we are never disappointed. Love their soups, Friday lunch specials, lettuce wraps (perfect when I’m not super hungry) and meals. We are not sushi fans, so I can’t comment on those, but we have loved everything we have tried off their regular menu. Great service, friendly inviting atmosphere. Update. Still a great fan! Have discovered their curry (love the yellow curry) Our daughter loved eggplant dishes and says theirs is one of the best she has ever tried.

Do not understand why this place has such good reviews. Sushi was terrible. We are from SLC so maybe we are spoiled but given the reviews we thought we’d be safe. Service was good. Sushi was subpar, and we found a hair in the last piece. Do not recommend.

I'm sad to post a "not good" review. Been here many times and have enjoyed the best Thai food! This last visit we had raw chicken in our food. But the worst of it was no apology from the manager. She almost seemed irritated bringing out a new dish. Hence your 1 start for service. Bummer. Its always been a 5 star experience for us

I read the reviews and wanted to try this place out. I had a hard time deciding what sushi roll to pick. I chose the Shredder roll. It was great. I also got the lean wontons which were delicious. I ordered take out and the service was good. I want to try more sushi rolls from here. And also try the Thai food

Order three sushi rolls, they tastes bitter and old. The deep fried rolls dough was still gooey and tasted bad. Wouldn't recommend their sushi.

Amari the hostess was absolute perfection. We had a large group, we wanted to be seated together, eat close to 7pm, but without a reservation we knew we’d have to be flexible by splitting up or eating at a different time. Amari got all 15 of us a table together at 7:00pm on a Saturday night. Truly a miracle worker! We will be back and promise to be less high maintenance!!

We got sushi and noodles and things that weren’t curry. Should have just done curry. The other location is a completely different experience - 5 stars. Go to the other location.

The chicken is always pale and undercooked. Last time I went here it was inedible and I had to throw it away.

Our favorite Thai food restaurant in St. George. We love their Tom Ka (coconut soup), peanut sauce and sticky rice, Pad Thai, and sushi, too. The orange chicken is well prepared, too.

The Pad thai with shrimps that I took was worth the initial wait period before dining. I enjoyed it. My friends took California rolls and fried rice with shrimps. I couldn't resist taking a bite of all ordered food on our table😋 😀 The taste of the food explains why the wait time... lol.

I have a new favorite Thai place. Loved the papaya salad, sushi, mango curry, mango sticky rice, and orange chicken. Nothing disappointed food wise.

A good family restaurant with friendly service. It's very busy so expect a wait during peak times (including early dinner when there are LOADS of families with LOADS of kids.) I would call the food more 'asian' than Thai. Decent dishes but not super authentic.

Overall I think Benja's was an great choice for our Saturday night out and I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We happened to go on a night with lots of high schoolers all grabbing dinner before heading to their dance and sometimes that can ruin the evening for me because they can be a little loud and obnoxious, but it wasn't an issue for us and we enjoyed our evening. Our waitress, Katya, was great at giving us recommendations and was kind enough to warn us about the longer wait times for sushi. I especially like that they have sushi and thai food options instead of one or the other. The menu is still pretty extensive and you'll definitely be happy with whatever you decide to order. We had two sushi rolls and the orange chicken, splitting a little of each between the two of us and it was the perfect amount of food. My only hesitation was with our appetizer, the Tempura Calamari. It was very good but was plated on some sparse chopped lettuce and carrots, not really an appetizing look. It ended up being delicious though, so not a big deal.

We've been eating regularly at Benja's for over a decade. The food and service have always been good, both here and at their second location. Since covid, we've mixed in a lot of takeout, and this is where they've disappointed. Our typical order is sushi, plus two entrees. We ask for spice level 3 or 4 on the entrees, and each of the past five visits only one of them has been correct. In the past, like tonight, one entree is spicy (3), and the other is completely bland (zero). It was supposed to be 4. Ouch. I don't know how to check this when picking up from a busy restaurant. The receipt is correct (shows a 4), so the problem isn't up front. I'm definitely going to bring it up next time we go. **ETA -- Our visit this week was perfect. Tastes were good, spice levels were as requested, and our server was wonderful. She had a busy section, but was attentive to every table and made sure people had what they needed. We still haven't hit the "spice level jackpot" on our to-go orders, but our in-house experience has been great.

5 stars for our server Orion. He really went above and beyond to make our experience good despite the kitchen being super back up.

Food’s decent but the service is horrible. Staff barely knew what they were doing.

Outstanding meal but horrible service. Not all their fault as they were slammed but we are pretty sure they totally forgot about us. I finally sat down and the waitress brought me a dish. She looked at me and said "did you not order this"? Not sure if she located the owner of the dish but this was typical. 20 minutes just to get the check. The women working the front was awful and not helpful. Best to call in and pick up. It's not worth waiting for a seat or dealing with the bad service.

Had dumplings, lettuce wraps, sushi, pad Thai and curry. Food was very average. It was so fast we weren’t done with appetizers when mains showed up.

Good food. From what I can tell there is a select number of items on the menu that must be A+ perfection. Our food was good but not like to die for. My husband had yellow curry, spice was great. It is on the curry sweet side. Ya, know? Not sweet but that hint is strong. I had the Benja fried rice it’s savory with chicken or pork, beef and shrimp all in it. The staff was kind and friendly Our app brought us to the back and it was hard to find for us out of town folk. So pics are hopefully helpful. Benjas never lets you down. Great for a sit down at the restaurant or to go meals will be fresh and delicious. The pad Thai is the best in town. Sushi is delicious try the Vegas roll if you like tempura style. It’s also fun to go just for the mango sticky rice. I’m usually too full to have it after eating a meal because their plates are very large. But the MSR is so delicious!!!

Wonderful service, extraordinary food and a comprehensive menu. Great atmosphere for a Friday or Saturday night dinner before heading to the many locations within close proximity to get.l a drink and dance. Sometimes I cannot believe I have lived here for ten years and only tired this gem 2 weeks ago. I’ve since had it for my third time.

Not impressed. I love Thai food and this place just did not meet my expectations. We ordered takeout and I ordered the yellow curry. It was oily, way too sweet, looked like it had canned peas and carrots in it, and it didn’t come with potatoes like it said on the menu. My husband also ordered crab rangoons and they gave him crab wantons instead so not much good to say on service either. The sushi was decent but overall, this place was not worth the steep price.

Fun atmosphere but if you’re looking for really good sushi, skip this place and try Sakura. Curry is great here though. And the crab rangoons. Really fun location and we’ve been a few times on date night, but it’s not the most delicious Asia food you’ll ever have. It’s better than average though and not a bad choice if you’re taking a group to dinner.

We love Thai and wanted to like this place (we had good expectations from all the good reviews on here). We liked that they had vegetarian options (unfortunately none of their curries could be made vegetarian as they all were made with shrimp). We ordered avocado sushi rolls, tom kha soups, a spicy basil entree that was recommended as one of the best dishes for vegetarians and a spicy eggplant dish with tofu. Both entrees we asked for spice level of 4/5 - we like spicy. Our waitress was friendly but service was very slow throughout. The sushi rolls were small but tasty, the soups were overly sweet but still decent. Both entrees were not very good, not at all spicy (literally no spice), tasted more like what we’d get at a cheap Chinese restaurant than a Thai one. The restaurant does good business (this may explain the very slow service and wait times in between courses, and to get our check), so not sure if our meals were an anomaly. But based on our experience would not recommend

We got Benja’s Thai Garden’s food delivered by Uber Eats. The food was packed up nicely, and survived the trip, including a temporarily lost Uber driver. The appetizers were both really good (chicken satay and spring rolls), helped by their accompanying sauces. I found the green curry a bit too sweet, but hubby really liked it. The star of the show though, was the drunken noodles with beef (three level spice). Just outstanding. If we are ever in St. George again, I would like to visit the restaurant, but I highly recommend the take out or delivery options.

Ordered take out and I'm impressed by the sweet potato curry soup with beef, I got mine level 3 in the spice scale, I've tried many different curry places in various cities from in and out of state and this has been the best tasting curry that I ever had. I wanted something unique and that's why I chose that special and I highly recommend anyone to try it, it's way worth it and I feel like people stick with the basics. My friend said there was an issue with the Vegas roll it tastes better on the middle than the outer ends like it was kind of soggy and dried but she tried the middle and it was fine. She also prefers the drizzle sauce on the top there wasn't any, I assume places do it differently? I'm not a sushi expert so I would not know but I did noticed it but I had no problem with it because the roll taste fine to me and very flavorful.

Atmosphere was good, loved the lighting and interior design. Food was pretty good no complaints except our waiter. Our waiter seemed pretty weird, he touched my brothers shoulder and made weird, uncomfortable comments. Don’t know if she has problem with social cues or something but it made the whole experience worse than ever. Definitely made us creeped out by the time we left.

We used to eat here when we lived in St. George over a decade ago. Visiting again tonight, I'm happy to say that the food is even better than it was back then.

We went on a Saturday evening, close to 7. The wait was about a half hour. They gave us a buzzer and the restaurant is in a complex build around a nice courtyard, so the wait wasn't bad. There's not a lot of seating in the courtyard, most of it is dedicated seating for an ice cream/dessert shop, but there are long rock walls that are shot and easy to sit on throughout the area. The server and staff were all very pleasant, but not especially attentive. It was busy, but we still waited a lot longer than expected, even for a busy weekend dinnertime. Based on other reviews, My husband and I shared the orange chicken and Fresh Basil rolls. The orange chicken was a really good dish. The orange flavor in the sauce was grown-up and really nice (though kids would like it, too). The fresh basil rolls were, sadly, a disappointment, though the basil dipping sauce really was exceptionally delicious. The rolls consisted of a LOT of shredded lettuce with one piece of shrimp all wrapped in rice paper. In all, I think we also encountered 2 slivers of cucumber inside, as well. There was no actual basil. It was really so bad, that I wondered whether maybe there had been a big mistake. Another in our party ordered the yellow curry with chicken. I had a little, and it was fantastic. The flavor and spice were perfect, and the chicken was really nice. We had a child in our group, and her mother ordered her a vegetable sushi roll. I can't say anything for the taste, but the presentation was great, and the server brought chopstick holders, and that kid had a great time. It would have been a nice dish for adults, too.

Curry and Pad Thai were AMAZING!!!

We were impressed by the gluten free Pd Thai and chicken satay. So clutch! We make it part of all our trips. Especially to carb load after triathlons or hiking and canyoneering. They seem to always have space, and work thru crowds better than anyone in St. George

The cook needs to cut down on the sugar by about 80%. The coconut soup was so sweet and so was the pad see "ew". It was a sugar overload. Every bite would cause thick sugary syrup to fill my mouth. It was 100% inedible. Southeast Asian food is supposed to have a balance of sweet, sour, salty. I should know, my family is thai, lao, and vietnamese. I already knew the food would be bad when there wasn't one thai person working the restaurant. Also, the chicken is so tiny and scarce in these dishes. Even the eggrolls were mostly cabbage and the sauce was just sweet chili sauce. How dull. Would never eat here again and would not recommend it to anyone. Never been to any restaurant in my life where the food was inedible.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our family was tired and hungry and this experience soothed our aching bellies, satisfied our taste buds, and delighted our eyes with the atmosphere.

It’s been a few years since eating at this wonderful establishment, and just like all of the previous times, the ENTIRE experience did not alter or disappoint, from the fresh unique flavors to the incredible Mary who is THE BEST, with THE AMAZING Alex topping the night off with their infamous mango sticky rice dessert, WE LOVED EVERYTHING, thank you Benja’s family!!

A must when visiting Saint George, Utah. The Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup and LOVED IT! very nice and clean place. Not over priced. Service was standard, nothing above and beyond, but it was also nice not to be interrupted while on a nice noon date.

Every time we’re in St. George we stop here to eat. It’s not the best Thai food we’ve had but it’s good enough to go back to. Last time we were there I noticed the rice was a bit oily. I must say their portions are huge!! The coconut soup is to die for; ordered it for my 9 month old and she loved it too!!

Service and location are great. Thai food was ok, it was more of an American styled Thai food. We ordered drunken noodles, Thai wrap and chicken teriyaki. Staff and service are great.

Every curry they serve is incredible! Sometimes their scale of 1 to 5 on spiciness can be off so get extra chili sauce on the side. We have had a level 2 that fried everyone's mouth, and a 2 that was completely bland. One meals served at least two with leftovers.

Enjoyed appetizers and sushi so much had to box up my curry as take home! Two days of super yummy for the win!

We have loved Benjas for several years. It is a regular stop when we visit St. George. Sometimes we eat in and sometimes we do take out. Yesterday we did take out. I was shocked by the meager portions. Our rice containers were only 3/4 full and they are so small to begin with. How hard is it to give out rice? This was also true for the orange chicken and ginger chicken containers. The Tom Kha Kai soup only had 3-4 pieces of chicken in the entire bowl. $66 and we didn’t have enough food for two people. Unfortunately, this seems to be the norm when ordering out. The portions inside the restaurant are larger. Very disappointed. I’ll be trying somewhere else the next time.

The restaurant was difficult to find but worth the effort. Only real negative was when we asked for a table outside on a beautiful evening. We ordered wine, and only then were we told alcohol could not be served outside, Utah law. Fine, but it would have been more efficient to have informed us of that before we were seated. The inside of the restaurant is very beautifully decorated, tables nicely spaced and the food very good. We had Basil Rolls, Spicy Eggplant with chicken and Teryaki Chicken. Good selection of wine & beer. Service wasn't great but our server was very apologetic, for errors made. Overall we enjoyed our meal very much.
