Great place for a quick breakfast, and the coffee was amazing. The place is kinda small, so if packed, you might need to wait a little for food and drinks.

I never feel impulsed to leave a negative review but after the experience me and a group of girls received this morning, something unfortunately has to be said. This place came highly recommended by multiple people, and I do believe the food and drinks are probably amazing however, upon entering, my sister had to use the bathroom and while we waited for her we stood by the coffee bean wall viewing the menu. We noticed the place was INFESTED with fruit flies/gnats. The entire coffee bean area, the mugs and the clothing were literally covered with them. This is not an exaggeration. COVERED. When my sister came back from the ladies room she said it was so bad in there and when she flushed, flies just came flooding from behind and these gnats were all over everything in there as well. Unfortunately we couldn’t stomach eating in this establishment because if it’s in the dining/front area and in the bathrooms, they’re elsewhere too. This definitely needs to be controlled and the health department would have major issues with this. We all wished we would’ve taken pictures because I’ve never seen such a bad infestation.

Super cute place with a view of the water. Appears to be very popular with locals and tourists alike. Coffee and food were very good.

Service was excellent and you could tell they loved what they where doing, and the food was phenomenal we had the sausage egg and cheese in a biscuit and it was so good and all of their drinks are great! Would definitely recommend!

One of my favorite coffee shops nationally. My weeks in Door County always start with their delicious Jalapeño Egg Sandwich, a coffee of choice (sometimes one of their tremendous smoothies), and heading down to read my New York Times and Wall Street Journal with a view. Love this place.

Great spot in town for breakfast and a coffee! Fun location right on the main street in town. The staff is friendly and helpful. We got two Drip Coffees, the Sunrise Egg Sandwich, the Breakfast Burrito. It was all fresh and delicious!🙂

Cashier seemed to have checked out, kind of weird. I ordered the Au Lait which says, Equal parts coffee and steamed milk or Alt Milk. What they gave me was a cup a coconut milk/foam and said that I needed to add my coffee from the self serve. Also ordered a coffee with coconut milk and got a cup of coconut milk, again with the self serve coffee. Went down hill from the past few years. Breakfast sandwich was OK. Atmosphere is cute, that's about it.

The location is great, service was good, but the food itself was just ok. I have a dairy allergy and cannot eat spicy food, so my choices are always limited. However, I can normally get a salad or sandwich on a wrap (I also have a gluten sensitivity), but the salads were mostly spicy and they did not offer any wraps. I ordered the BLT and purchased my own gluten free bread. However, the sandwich had very little lettuce and was mostly bacon. My husband had the Southwest Salad and it looked big but it was mostly lettuce and had very little dressing. There are other good places for a quick lunch, but I may go back for coffee since it was a cute place. Don't recommend for lunch.

Hands down my favorite coffee place in Door County. Love the coffee and the breakfast sandwiches are great too. Can get a bit busy so get there early if you can.

We’ve been going here for decades! The service, food, and atmosphere is great. They are open year round and have longer daytime hours which is great for an afternoon coffee pick me up. However, they have made switches to their coffee over the past couple of years, and their hot coffee quality is not as good than when they served Collectivo brand in the past. Their iced coffee is now even worse (very watered down). For a great coffee shop like this, please re-focus on good coffee! EDIT: Thanks for the quick response, Blue Horse! We had thought you had Collectivo in the past but it sounds like not. Anyways, we've had both hot & iced coffee several times over the past few years and it doesn't seem to be as good, so I'm not sure if it's a one-off mistake, but we will provide feedback next time we're there.

Unique menu for drinks and food!

We got the Roast Turkey Sandwiches and they were absolutely fantastic! #1 best hot sandwich I have ever eaten. Toasted ciabatta buns with mayo, pesto, turkey, lettuce, tomato, and pickled onions. Just a fabulous flavor combination and a must try! (If you get any of the sandwiches, please ask for the homemade pasta salad. It was the best pasta salad we have ever had) We also got some pastries and coffee from the bakery section which were high quality homemade goods. The atmosphere at outside seating in back was cozy and inviting! Props to Blue Horse for all the hard work and would recommend to others!

I would recommend this location if you want a coffee beverage to start the day. Cheap prices, delicious coffee, and great views make this location a must.

Awesome atmosphere. Excellent coffee. Tasty fresh treats. Front overlooks the lake. Back patio is shaded. Great music! I will be taking meals here every day of my visit.

Veg Out Sandwich was fantastic and perfect for my vegetarian needs. Service was exceptional. Outside dining during the day, during the week in the sunshine before the season rush was ideal.

My wife and I have been coming here for years. They continually turn up the heat each year with new ideas, coffees, baked goods, and the like. We stop here often enough when we are passing through to/from church or peninsula state park. They have some really awesome dishes, especially their chicken curry salad, their breakfast and chicken burritos, and their side pasta option is killer. Their coffee selection is huge and they have some really awesome cinnamon buns too! Come here to relax and enjoy a lunch outside on their patio, or perhaps in their wrap-around 4 seasons room to look out at the Bay!

The location of the coffee shop is amazing! There is seating available facing the lake! The coffee choices are great! I had a sugar free mocha made with almond milk. The drink was made quickly and accurately. Their menu has vegan options that are clearly labeled. However, the employee at the register was not listening when I ordered. The employee asked me to repeat my name several times and I even spelled it. I also had to repeat my order several times.

We stopped by for breakfast and found out you can't even get a scrambled egg on a sandwich here. Everything came in to-go containers. No option for eating in.

Blue Horse Beach Cafe was such a fun stop! My husband and I loved the drinks we got, he got a double espresso and I got a large iced chai, my chai was pretty milky, but still delicious. We waited for 15 minutes before going up to ask where our drinks were. They had lost them in the business and kindly made them right away. It was no problem at all and they were super nice about it giving us a cookie for our troubles. Overall it was a great experience, the staff was very sweet!

Food was fine... after waiting 20 minutes on just a chocolate croissant and a cinnamon roll!! I thought my girlfriend ordered a sandwich which was the reason for delay when I figured out she just got a cinnamon roll i was already done with my coffee and looked over to see the people behind the counter eating over the register counter. Definitely won't be back!

Can’t go wrong here. Excellent coffee good service and a great view. Breakfast burrito was excellent. Scones are great too. Flavorful and moist. Great place to stop in the morning.

Went for lunch. Good food served quickly. Tasty turkey sandwich and vegetarian burrito. Service was prompt and friendly. We sat on the front porch with a beautiful view of Green Bay and Peninsula State Park. Nice.

I'm constantly on the search for a new coffee place every time we go on vacation. Even though Door County is our most frequent destination, we had yet to find a coffee place that was our "go-to" destination...until this past weekend. Great coffee, great food, great location and a kind and courteous staff. This is our new stop from now on.

Finding Great Coffee is the first thing I do before I settle into any town while on vacation. The Blue Horse Cafe is the place! In addition, you cannot beat the breakfast sandwiches and incredibly friendly owners and staff. If you are in Fish Creek just look for the line of people waiting to get in for their favorite cup of coffee, of course you can order ahead too! Wow! The Blue Horse!

Great food recommended by local. We had blue horse club and sausage egg in a biscuit. Drinks took 15 min but food a little faster. You have to sit/stand at the counter waiting for it.

Fun excursion to the Blue Horse! The view of the bay was beautiful, my “Sunrise” breakfast sandwich was super yummy, and my specialty coffee tasted great! There were only three people in line in front of us when we arrived at 8:20am, or so, and there was plenty of seating. By the time we left around an hour later it was pretty packed. We’re already planning our next visit. ❤️☕️

Lovely spot by the beach! It gets busy during peak times with long lines. Food is good. One of the spots we visited twice on our 3 day Door County trip! Cinnamon roll was simply amazing. Warm it up in the microwave. Coffee is good too! Homemade cold brew and caramel sauce. Definitely worth a stop!

Friendly staff, good coffee and they have vegan/vegetarian options. A refreshing stop in Door County, which doesn't have too many places with veg options. The vegan burrito with cilantro rice, black beans, sweet potatoes and their sauce was really excellent. They have a nice outdoor dining area at the back. Edit: I came back here one year after the first review but didn't have as good of an experience because I decided to try their plant based burger. I would recommend clearly identifying the "plant based" burger as being one of the premade patties and not one made in the kitchen (not sure which it was, impossible or beyond... but I really avoid those for being ultra-processed foods). I just had to dismantle it and eat the ciabatta with the coleslaw etc. Not sure how I missed asking about it here but usually I ask about that. You could also easily make the vegan patty in house with a black bean base and other ingredients that you already have in house.

Pretty much one of the only places I get coffee up here. I like exploring elsewhere but I always come back to blue horse for an iced white mocha🤍

Came to this place when I visited from out of town, and they did not disappoint. Food was fantastic!

Busy place at lunchtime but worth any wait time. The food is good and prices are in line with other area restaurants. There is an outdoor seating area (in season), but the view from the front dining area is good for water views, people watching, or boat watching.

Love Blue Horse Cafe. Terrific coffee shop in downtown Fish Creek across from the public beach. Delicious drinks and food. Beware that it is often busy so you may wait a bit.

Always a favorite in Door County. Been coming here for years. Unfortunately the girl at the register was very unpleasant. Had issues answering questions like it was a bother. Possibly needs a bit of training. On register august 7th 11:00am.

I came in for Lox & bagels but they didn't have any and didn't know when they would have any. We had a couple of the breakfast sandwiches, chocolate chip biscuit and cinnamon roll. They weren't really good at all. They did have a lot of business, so I can't help but to think how much more business they could do if the rolls, pastries and sandwiches were really good. It was just kind of flavorless.

We had a great breakfast at the Blue Horse! The house itself is super cute and directly across from the beach. We sat and ate on the back patio which was lovely. Highly recommend their iced coffee, The Tomato, and Bagel & Lox - they were delish. My daughter also really liked her Ham & Cheese sandwich from the kids menu. We will definitely visit again next time we’re in the area!

Great coffee shop to start out your day!! Food is fresh and delicious. We like placing online orders to avoid wait times which can be long during peak DC summers. The vegan options are tasty. Coffee and espresso drinks are all good, we’ve tried them all. Just an overall great place to get coffee and sit by the lake or they have a cute sitting area in the back.

We have been to Blue Horse several times over the last few years and have been pleased with their service and food. Our last visit was disappointing. The front staff person who was taking orders was not well versed on any food allergies and could not confidently tell me which bakery items contained nuts. Our tea latte was just frothed warm milk and did not contain any tea. I reached out to them via telephone but never got a response. I surely hope things improve.

We have been enjoying Blue Horse for years. The drinks and food are excellently prepared. The service is quick and knowledgeable. Our fav is a Carmel latte with triple the Expresso, Chuck Norris. If you enjoy good food and great coffee give them a try.

It was our first time and we were pleasantly surprised how good the coffee and the food was. We ordered an iced latte which was delicious and a sandwich. The view from the cafe was also really nice.

Our favorite place for coffee and tea in Door County. Beautiful view of the lake, fun shaded area with games in the back. Our favorite drink is the matcha latte, but lots of great food and drink options.

Ordered a Bagel Cream cheese for the kids. Came with no cheese. Asked about juices they serve, was told ‘just pick a juice’. Terrible service, when ordering. The food was good, just bad service. Wait times are 20-30 mins, for a takeout place it’s too long.

Love their african cinnamon coffee but took a star off because they no longer have free refills

Have been coming to Blue Horse since 2001 and it consistently has been the best breakfast sandwich spot we have ever been to. The cheddar biscuit is to die for, the meatzilla will leave you full, happy and wanting another one the next day. Coffee tastes great and the staff is extremely friendly with Eric the owner going out of his way to make sure our dog has bacon. As long as this place exists we will incorporate it into our breakfasts as much as possible during our annual camping trip.

I have never been let down here. I had to write a review about their chocolate chip biscuits. I like a good chewy bread and I love chocolate chips baked into anything (NOT sprinkled on top, it needs to be baked). Blue Horse’s chocolate chip biscuit was the BEST bakery item I have had in at least 10 years … maybe ever!

Food was delicious. Cashier took order wrong for both drinks. Barista informed me about how an espresso over ice should be ordered as an Americano for pricing. Except an Americano has more water to start, so I would not have gotten what I wanted. It's the cashier's job to ring things up at the right price.

Was busy early in the morning when we came. The chuck norris latte is worth getting over any other coffee drink. The cinnamon rolls were perfect! Location of the toilet was odd being behind the counter. Great location for a shop.

A second chance at spring with a Door County visit. As always, the specialty coffees, pastries, food and people are wonderful. We always visit several times when in Door County either for breakfast, lunch or an after ride snack.

Delightful place! Food was great. Vegan burrito was phenomenal and the turkey sandwich was very good too! Viva Verde smooth was delicious. Friendly service and a great vibe. Very nice view of the water too.

I really loved this cafe. The service was good, it had a nice feel, and the food was amazing. I went there with my daughter and she got the best, most fresh muffin there is, and their egg and cheese on a bagel hit the spot. It was very delicious.

A few spots in Door County surprised us on our visit from Chicago. With limited restaurant choices during the off season, finding places like the Blue Horse leaves you feeling fortunate. This cafe overlooks a beautiful cove, and was a great way to start the morning. Service was fantasticly friendly and speedy. The coffee was perfect. The food, even better. The cinnamon buns (which we came back for multiple days were delicious). We also ordered multiple sandwiches (Sausage Biscuit, Veg Out and Breakfast burrito), all were completely knocked out of the park. The burrito was quite honestly, the best breakfast burrito I have ever had, anywhere. My favorite part of our visit was hearing orders called from the kitchen. The chef in the back is working magic, is clearly just having fun, and is putting smiles on faces with more than just his food.

Love their mocha's! And iced mocha's are even better!! Always polite and friendly service. Indoor area is a little on the small side but we always take ours to go anyway. Great place.

We had planned to pick up a coffee to go, but while my husband was inside getting our order, I was busy taking pictures of the bay and locked us out of our car! Since there’s no taxi or Uber type service in the area, Eric ( owner and cook) very graciously gave my guy a ride back to our hotel in Ephraim where I luckily left my set of keys. I had a leisurely wait, sipping my delicious dirty chai, which they will make less sweet for me… this place is SO GREAT!!!
