The multiple picnic benches throughout the garden and under the gazebos made it a great place to stop at to enjoy the delicious BBQ and side dishes.

Graft spot in the side of the road, we saw it and pulled over. Their chicken bbq was reasonably priced, good side portions and amazing chicken. The staff was friendly and fast.

Still recall this as the best bbq chicken I’ve had. Ate the bones.

The chicken, pulled pork and corn bread was super dry and barely edible. No flavor

Amazing barbecue and a beautiful garden food was on point and wasn’t that busy for a Saturday would definitely make a stop off on my next trip!

This is a gem! The menu has lots of basic BBQ choices. I had a basic pulled pork plate with beans and corn on the cob. The dining atmosphere in the back and side yard is just adorable.

Bob's was the worst BBQ I have ever had the displeasure of eating, (and I've eaten at Piggy Pat's in New Hartford). It was just wretched. Flavorless watery pulled pork and dried out ribs. The coleslaw was pretty good, so they've got that going for them.

Great food, beautiful picnic dining area. Fun for families. The kids can run around.

My entire family of 14+ people absolutely love this place. Their food is always delicious, and cooked to perfection. The service is always quick and the people are always friendly.

Not sure exactly what is happening here, been getting Bobs for over 40 years , since on Groton Ave, last few years the halves are more like the size of pigeons! So tiny! Portions def smaller on everything while prices have gone thru the top, but on the positive side service was great. Stopped going and I know other longtime customers have also stopped going as well.

Best turkey leg I've had in a long time. Brisket was heavenly and the chicken was delicious. So good. Definitely going back.

Everything is great. Just really expensive. There's plenty of seating in the back surrounded by gardens. Lots of shade, really pretty landscaping.

The first worker that took our order was extremely rude when asking what we wanted out his hand up and said very rudely “your going to have to wait on ordering your side until the end “ the chicken was very dry and hard to swallow . The picnic tables haven’t been cleaned in days with tons of left over food on them , the nats and bugs were unbearable. After spending 90$ for 4 meals my son went up to get two more drinks and was given 6$ in quarters in change and as we where walking out one of the workers yelled out to us that he stole the drinks and didn’t pay for them when you have to physically get them from the workers . Will never return to this establishment again nor recommend to Anyone ever again .

Delicious BBQ. So glad we stopped. Ordered half chicken with corn and Mac salad. The half chicken is a bonein piece of marinated chicken. I also got brisket and pulled pork with beans and potato salad. All was yummy. I prefer the mild sauce over the tangy. Will be back!

Delicious food and quick service. Great location and beautiful outdoor seating- wish we were locals so we could enjoy this place again! Great stop for anyone passing by on the highway looking for a fast, we had a great lunch while on a summer road trip.

Bobs is a "must try" spot if you like barbecue. Friendly staff, delicious, slow cooked/smoked meat. It is ALL good!

Great food no matter what you order pulled pork Sandwiches., Barbecue ribs, barbecue chicken it is all good have about eight different sides to choose from as well.... The young ladies at the front counter are very very friendly courteous and they serve very quickly..... Sorry no food pictures next time..... Also a good place for groups....

Food was good and the staff was very efficient! There was 8 of us all ordering on one order on a Sunday Evening and they were fast and got every order was correct! Very friendly place. I only wish there was indoor seating because it was cold and damp out.

Outstanding BBQ! I hadn't been here since I went to their old location closer to 41. The brisket is out of this world. My Mom enjoyed her chicken for Mothers Day. My folks were pleasantly surprised they had fresh corn on the cob in May. Definitely worth the trip.

Always delicious 😋. The line may look long but they move along quick. They are very efficient! Besides, it gives you a few minutes to figure out what you want!

Food is too expensive for my taste.

I always enjoy going to Bob's bbq. On a good day all the food is normally really enjoyable. I decided to go opening weekend this year, so not sure if it was a good idea. I got two 1/2 chicken dinner plates with 2 sides each(3 salt potatoes and 1 baked bean) The chicken was dry but had a really good flavor. The salt potatoes definitely could've used more salt and the baked beans tasted like pure brown sugar and bbq sauce, way too sweet for my liking. I also decided to get desert, 2 slices of key lime pie(picture attached with credit card to show size comparison) literally not much bigger than a credit card. The pie slices were priced at $4.50. In my opinion they were overly sweet store bought no-bake mix you can make at home yourself. Not worth 4.50 for the size you get. Today's trip was definitely not worth the wait in line in the cold wet rain

Bob’s BBQ is a local honey hole! If you are driving by, don’t even question your self—PULL OVER! The locals know they are blessed and believe me I’m jealous! My husband and I travel often and always plan to stop here for a late lunch when we are traveling south on 81 during their open season! The brisket, the pulled pork, the ribs, the salt potatoes, the sauces—need I go on! You are getting your moneys worth here people, what more can I say! Just be sure to specify what type of Brisket you prefer; fatty or lean. My husband and I always leave with our belly’s bursting and a frown that we don’t live closer! I can’t forget to mention that they even have a few dessert options as well. The atmosphere is so fun and enjoyable. There are hidden tables spread out across the property and places for even kids to play! Feel free to eat in the more communal areas, where you can spy on your neighbors meaty selections—or explore the grounds and discover hidden, well landscaped, secret garden spots—for a quieter afternoon picnic. Get out and support your local pit masters people, this place is pure meaty BBQ gold!

Always stop through, whenever possible, traveling from Ithaca. Food is sooo good. Their staff of courteous young people keep the place movin' & groovin', cooking up the food, serving the customers and making everyone feel welcomed. Totally worth driving the few extra miles through Homer before jumping on 81.

I liked the brisket a lot but I feel the sauce i chose might have just been not a great choice because it made it taste odd at times. Still loved everything else and would happily come back.

On the way to Ithaca so we had to stop! Yum yum smoky deliciousness!The only bad thing was the skeeters coming for you when you're eating outside. It'd be sweet if they could build a nice chow house, but other than the bugs the outdoor area is quite nice.

Ribs were a bit pricey but flavor and tenderness made up for it. Staff was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend it.

First and last time at Bobs BBQ. Food left a lot to desired. Their ‘lo and slow’ motto somehow means uncooked chicken skin and feathers left on with the only flavor being in the chicken skin. Their sides were out of a can. Service was okay and the seating was nice. Dans Chicken Shack in Mexico NY is a million times better.

We liked sitting out in the tree grove and the food had good flavor. However, the potato salad had some large pieces barely cooked. The meat had many pieces that were not very shredded. The brownie was so hard we couldn't eat it. And it wasn't inexpensive. Maybe it was a bad day for them, which made it a bad meal for us. We won't go back. (All of their seating is outside and the food is put into to-go containers.)

If you've never eaten there, you are missing out. The garden area, with tables to eat at, is just beautiful.

I really wanted to like this place. Everybody recommended it to me and although the atmosphere is great, it just doesn’t make me want to come back. The food was dry and lacked flavor and the employees acted like everyone knew how to order there and it was complicated.

Meat was cold beans were just store beans Place has gone down hill since my last visit. Only bright spot was the service

This was my son and I first time at Bobs.. we thought this barbeque pit was Awesome.. From the great friendly service to having a an excellent dinner to the outdoor seating.. The prices are worth the meal.. Bobs is real !!! not a box restaurant.. one of a kind !!

So disappointed. I've been coming to Bob's BBQ since he was on the corner in Homer.... My mom would get it most every Sunday. I haven't been here since my mom died 6 years ago so I was really excited to get a chicken dinner. The chicken was so dry and tough I tossed it. The coconut cream pie used to be homemade... Now it looks like a box of instant pudding and prepared graham cracker crust. Tossed that too. The macaroni salad and beans were good. Disappointed.

Chicken severely dry. Sweet potato so overcooked could not eat it. Coleslaw had so much sugar in it that is all you tasted. We drove from Camillus, NY. It was awful. My friend said the corn tasted like cow corn, his potatoes sat for hours before being served and the size of his chicken was so small we had to eat again. I have to say it was a huge disappointment as we have eaten there two other times and it was fine. The best thing about it was the outdoor seating. What a shame.

I drive through Homer a few times every summer, and I always stop at Bob's for BBQ, ribs... The food is great, prices are a bit steep, and unfortunately, they do NOT offer a military discount.

We always plan to go to Bob's BBQ at least once every season. The portions are generous.

The waiter attending to me never really made eye contact and mistakenly gave me another man's order because he confused me with another customer. I had ordered a half-chicken dinner with potato salad and coleslaw. However, I received macaroni salad instead because the man who ordered after me had requested the exact same thing, leading to the mix-up. The chicken was tasty but unfortunately, it was super dry, almost as if it had been kept on a steam table. Moreover, I don't even like macaroni salad. At first, I wasn't a fan of the coleslaw either, but as I continued eating, I found myself enjoying it the most out of everything. The rolls were not bad, but they could have tasted better if they were freshly made; instead, they felt as if they had been purchased at a supermarket like Grand Union. Additionally, the butter could also use some improvement.

Great bbq food, not the biggest fan of the potato and Mac salads but amazing bbq chicken and pulled pork, haven't tried the ribs yet but I hear good things on that also

This is a great short trip up 281 after getting off 81 in Homer. A little pricey but worth it. See for yourself on the menue pics I took today (May 18.) This is as good as anything as I had anywhere in the south or midwest. YES! The atmosphere is quite cool as there are picnic tables privately dispersed throught a well manicured out door area. Its almost as if you are camping temporarily. Very private yet very public. It is a nice change of pace. They do cater as well as they have a large covered paved area for rent so you know it's a good place for a huge get together. It is nice not having to drive to the south for great outdoor true bbq.

Couldn't wait for them to open. Love their BBQ. Ribs are amazing.

I wanted to go again the next night. So happy Bob's is open for the season. Worth the 26 minutes we waited in line! The BBQ chicken. Us so good!

The food is OUT of is WORLD. BARBECUE and salads ALL HOME MADE.

Finally visited after moving to the area a year ago and hearing about it from a friend. We definitely should have gone sooner. The 1/2 chicken was phenomenal - wonderfully spiced and tender. The brisket had a great smokey flavor and perfect texture. All the homemade sides (cornbread, potato salad, baked beans, and salt potatoes) were some of the best I've had. Not just in NY, but anywhere in the country.

For such high reviews, we had high expectations. We got quite a bit of food and were disappointed with all of it except the macaroni salad, which was pretty good. The ribs had little to no meat on them, mostly fat, the chicken was the chewiest chicken I've ever had and actually hurt my jaw. Brisket was okay, but overshadowed by the low quality of everything else. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back.

No bathrooms, line up, order your meals individually, pick it up, then leave.

Chicken is good but pork ribs barbecue and brisket are not. Nice table setting it is like a picnic. All tables are outside between trees not inside eating area.

Another excellent meal at Bob's BBQ! No wait. Pleasant service. Great food. We got a brisket platter, a pulled pork platter, and a pork ribs platter. The salt potatoes are a must, as is the corn on the cob. Their cornbread was outstanding. Family-friendly, park-like atmosphere. A local favorite.

Meal was good as always. 1/4 chicken was smaller than normal, but still filling.

Possibly the most overrated establishment in the area. Flies all over the food with little effort to cover anything. Chicken often overcooked. Sides nothing special. I hate to "yuck" a locally owned business but they have sanitation issues and are pretty low effort on the cooking.

Went for a party an hour 15 minutes away, BBQ was on point! Chicken halves cooked perfect, pulled pork was amazing! Well worth the drive.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The coleslaw was a little heavy on the dressing but overall pretty good. Good variety of sides.

Great smoked meats, soso Cole slaw and baked beans were decent but seemed like they could have come straight from a can/package. Spicy BBQ sauce was tasty but lacked anything related to spicy in my opinion. Will be coming back for more brisket and pulled pork in the future. Carrot cake was decent, probably made by a local bakery.

My husband and I decided to take a ride to Bob's BBQ for our first time and it was worth the trip...Food was fantastic while enjoying their abundant outdoor seating. We will definitely be back !

Good Bbq, not great. The cole slaw was tasty. The corn was bland. I think it was boiled. Not sure why the brisket is chopped and not sliced. It tasted good but it was kind of mushy. The corn bread muffin was good. Not dry at all.

So my wife in great fashion tells me love there is a BBQ place getting good reviews and it's only a short drive away so we hop in the car and drive to the middle of no where and find this cute little BBQ spot just surrounded by trees and shrubs. So we both order different combo platters and share what we could lmao. The food was delicious and definitely we will be coming back this summer.

My friend and her family go here all the time and they rave about this place. I've never been a bbq fan. But I decided to try it out and OMG it has to be the best BBQ food I've ever had. I'm already planning another visit there

This place held up. My partner’s parents told us about this and said it was a must go to while it was open for the season and I was satisfied. Got the brisket sandwich (with coleslaw highly recommended) and it was fantastic. I loved the choice of mild, spicy and tangy sauces, I went for spicy and tangy it was the perfect combination. Ribs were a bit tough, but had good flavor. I like that you have the option of adding 2 on top of picking 2 sides. Very good food and lots of outdoor seating!

EMPLOYEES HAVE A CODE WORD FOR BLACK & BROWN CUSTOMERS. Bob’s opens at 11:00, I arrived around 11:10. I was the only customer there. As I approached to place my order, one of the male employees announced to his co-workers “a double latte coming up.” They don’t sell coffee and by the way, I’m black. I will NEVER go back there again and, I am going to tell everyone about my experience.

I've loved Bob's chicken for many years (I used to live in Homer on Route 281.) All the sides and desserts are yummy. The landscaping is lovely, and there are plenty of picnic tables.

Food was amazing, employees friendly and courteous, lots of seating. Definitely will come back.

My family and I would come here from time to time when it’s summer, I’ve always got the Hoffman hot dogs but I recently tried the pulled pork sandwich and it was absolutely amazing! It’s juicy and savory, not sweet like some recipes do but I like it without the sweetness. 10/10 would have again

Many people have told us about this place and said it was really good barbecue. So we took the drive to go see for ourselves. Since it's Covid time ordering is outside and nicely separated from the cooks. Plenty of outside seating and well spread out. I had the Carolina PP sandwich and my wife had the 1/4 chicken. Sides were corn on the cob and salt potatoes for her, mine were Included beans and macaroni salad since my sandwich had coleslaw on it. My wife's chicken was very good but the corn wasn't very tasty and the potatoes weren't quite done right. The pulled pork was Luke warm at best. I have to say Dinosaur barbecue and Limp Lizard are much bettef.
