The food here was excellent!! The service was outstanding and the prices were very reasonable!

Well, personally, I didn't like my choices. But the food was good. The owner is a little intense especially with the employees. Small and dark. Nice welcome but expensive for what it was, however the portions are generous.

I had veal, my sister had Maui Maui, and the rest of our entourage had dishes we couldn't pronounce. But every dish was an absolute experience and Silvio was a phenomenal host. That is the most memorable eating experience I've ever had bravo!!! 👏

Do not miss this hidden gem of a restaurant. One thing I can always say about this place is every time I go, I have no idea what I’m going to get because there are always great new specials. Service is always great and the food is outstanding. And the dessert is the best part. I can’t even recommend a certain dish because everything is delicious. Do not miss out on this restaurant.

We had an outstanding experience at Boccone South celebrating my birthday. From the time we entered the place to leaving, we felt fully taken care of. The service was beyond outstanding!The food was scrumptious and original. I highly recommend this place for celebrating a special occasion or for just a night out.

This is a hidden treasure in Livingston. From apitezer to dinner and topped off with the most outstanding light bread pudding. Will travel again from Bergen county to enjoy another meal at Boccone

Was here yesterday, unfortunately they had a mother's day fixed menu, but, what they had was excellent and definitely will be back! Really looking forward to trying many things on the menu.

Do NOT allow the location or lack of upscale atmosphere deceive you! The food is BEYOUND AMAZING!!!!!!!! Silvio (?) the owner walks the floor and was the best host ever. I felt like I was in his living room while he offered wonderful suggestions for our entree selections. Listening to him describe the evenings special I gained 10lbs 😂. My only complaint is that I can't get back soon enough!!!

Just went there for the first time with my family. I won’t share pics because there’s non food left on the plates after we got one bite 🤫If you’re looking for Italian authentic food this place is for you! I love Italian food but OMG what Silvio, the owner, did with special salad, its addiction! My husband doesn’t eat salads but he was soo impressed , he told me at the end, we need to come more often just to have salad in particular. I ordered Spagetti Carbonara, the best one I’ve ever had in my life! My husband LOVED desert and espresso with ice cream, I finished with cappuccino which btw was absolutely incredible! Everything should get 10,000 stars not 5! Service, food, atmosphere are 10/10! As the hack, you should try it on the weekdays when it’s more quiet and you can get some specials from the owner!

I've been eating Silvio's food since we stumbled across Boccone South when it was in South Orange. A couple of relocations later, and the food is still just as incredible. We love eating here and try to make it our go-to for date nights or special occasions.

We don't usually go out to Italian restaurants as we cook Italian food at home every day, however, we made an exception for our anniversary and tried Boccone South. The food was excellent as was the service. Silvio's warm welcome made us feel like we were long lost relatives. The menu options we chose were amazing and they clearly put an effort to create unique and exquisite specials whose flavor combinations were exceptional. We can't wait to go back with friends and family.

The food is amazing! The service is always exceptional! They are super accommodating since I am vegetarian. The owner has a great personality, provides great conversation, and treats you like family!

This place exceeded our expectations by far. We made a last minute reservation for a romantic dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the experience. Everything about the restaurant is authentic Italian experience, from the kind and friendly owner, the wait staff, the decor to the delicious freshly cooked food. It had us reminiscing of our visit to Italy and was some of the most satisfying pasta we’ve had in a while. Highly recommend this place. The owner was very generous and got us a complimentary dish of the delicious bread pudding when we were unable to make up our minds about dessert choices. Grazie mille for opening such a wonderful restaurant in our little town. Will be coming back here.

Dining at Boccone South was a pleasant experience, particularly due to the graciousness of the owner, Silvio. Overall, Boccone South offers a lovely dining experience with a touch of authentic Italian charm.

The owner is one of the nicest and kindest restaurant owners I've ever met. The food is immaculate, and you always leave with a full stomach and a hungering for more. It's the best Italian food I've had to date. Eating this food set my bar higher than I thought it could be for Italian dishes.

From the meal to the service everything was excellent. Silvio was a gracious and attentive host. Our servers were pleasant and friendly. The meals we selected were absolutely sublimes. I can't wait to go back.

I live in Livingston and had never heard of BOCCONE South -Just found about the eatery - So to start the experience I ordered take out - Well let me say WOW!!! Every item I ordered was absolutely memorable- The flavors had my taste buds doing jumping jacks. I can’t wait to go and have dinner at the restaurant- If this is how they do take out, I can’t imagine being at the restaurant. DELICIOSO!!-Delicious!!!!

The place has a smell similar to the Chinese take out for some reason. Hostess was pleasant. The food is very average, definitely not worth the price.

I went there for the first on Tuesday. I was very impressed. I am vegan and Silvio could not have been more helpfull. I told him what kind of meal I would like and he prepared it so well. I had pasta with olive oil and broccoli-rabe. It was very good. I would definitely like to go back. I went with friends and their meal was superb as well. Cappuccino and expresso ended a fantastic meal along with dessert. Unfortunately I couldn't have any dessert, but I still had a great time. The employees could not have been more nicer. Boun-Appétit.

I found this place completely by accident two years ago and it was the best accident ever. The owner, Sylvio and the staff would be enough on their own to keep you coming back but the food is beyond amazing. Always fresh and super delicious. I've been here several times now and have never, ever been disappointed. Having moved to New Jersey from Brooklyn I never expected to find a place even close to what I've been accustomed to but Boccone South is the answer. Do not skip this place, make sure to get there

Food was not up to the mark. I am a vegetarian and was sad to see hard Goncchi. Large portion size, sadly taste being just below average.

Love this place. We go their often. Nice family style restaurant. Starting from bread to appetizers to entree and finishing the meal with a dessert, everything was delicious. We had a very Personalized experience. We will continue to go there and will highly recommend!

The absolute best restaurant, food, ambiance, service!!

The MOST amazing Italian food that I've had outside of Italy! The service is excellent, and the food is to-die-for. We had the octopus appetizer (unbelievably tender) and the striped bass with risotto which was unbelievable, never would have thought fish could be so good. And the bread pudding dessert was out of this world. I've had bread pudding in the past but never understood why it was so popular... until now. Their homemade bread pudding with homemade cherry Gelato was incredible. It's so wonderful to have an authentic Italian restaurant in town! We will be back!

Boccone is a real gem of New Jersey. Silvio's special menu is a remarkable experience of new flavors of classic and contemporary dishes. From the lamb shank sambucco to the bread pudding, your upscale foodies won't find such an extraordinary experience anywhere else. What a delightful evening with friends, eating authentic amazing Italian food! Many menu options for meat, pasta and vegetarian eaters, with friendly service. Even the owner Silvio came around to check on us and make sure all was as should be. BYOB - reservations recommended.

Outstanding, in a literal sense. The food here truly stands out (starter, main course and dessert). Everything we had was absolutely amazing, both in taste and presentation. The stuffed pork chop special was the best piece of pork I’ve EVER had (no exaggeration). WOW….. We’ll be back, often (new favorite).

The food was not up to the quality of food by Silvio I experienced many times in South Orange or Millburn. Octopus special was mushy and hidden in an average red sauce. Monkfish wrapped in prosciutto was overcooked and served next to a huge mound of green dyed mashed potatoes. Special salad and salmon were acceptable. Good food in this area is well rewarded. A disappointing experience!!

The best authentic Italian food that you can find in northern New Jersey. Almost everything is homemade and tasted absolutely delicious. The owner and everyone that works there takes pride in what is offered and it shows. I am so happy to have this restaurant so close by and not have to go to Brooklyn for real Italian food. We love Boccone! Were sad they moved to Livingston but excited to come to the new space. Their rigatoni, sausage and broccoli rabe dish is my favorite! Love that’s it’s BYOB. Don’t love EVERYTHING on their menu, but there are a few dishes that are really consistently delicious.

Sylvio has the freshest and BEST Italian food in north NJ. So glad he’s close in Livingston. Highly recommend without reservation for fine Italian cuisine. Dinner tonight was world class. MAJOR UPDATE: Boccone has moved to a new location: 471 Mount Pleasant Avenue in Livingston. It has great parking right out front in its own lot plus a nice outdoor dining terrace area. I drove by yesterday and stopped in and ran into the wonderful owner, Sylvio, who told me they are hoping to open around Mother's Day! He even invited my wife and I in for a tour. WHAT A GREAT SPACE! High ceilings, cool layout, vibrant colors!! Can't wait!! ____________________ Boccone is a great new restaurant to come to the area. Excellent Italian soup and food I had tortellini soup. For my main meal I had the filet mignon special I usually don't eat this in an Italian restaurant but it was delicious

We always enjoy the FOOD (so delicious), customer service ans LOVE we get with the Boccone crew. Took my cousin here for her birthday this week and she absolutely LOVED everything from the food to attention. We will continue to return as this is our favorite Italian Restaurant. I went to dinner with my wife and a another couple. The owner was walking the floor and talking to customers, he stopped by our table and made us feel like family. Then he shared some house specials with us. The food was superb, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was elegant. I will be coming back!

Hands down the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to in my life, and I’ve been to many. The food is always top quality, cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Everything tastes delicious, authentic, and homemade. Their chicken dishes and daily specials are impeccable, and I could eat an entire tray of their amazing bread pudding always served with creamy gelato. Silvio and the other staff are extremely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The atmosphere is unmatched! This is the perfect place for a romantic evening, with BYOB so you can bring your favorite wine to pair with delicious food. No other Italian restaurant in the US compares, dining here is like taking a trip to Italy.

Best Italian food and superior service

Such wonderful people at this place! Plus their food is so good. Had a really small celebration there and it was my first time out in any place like this since COVID-19. The workers were so welcoming and ensuring we were having a great evening. They all kept their masks on and communicated with us often regarding our menu. Enjoyed everything! I will definitely go back!

This was our first visit. The staff was very solicitous and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. I do think they should have a printed specials menu, as the two entrées we ordered were both specials, and were quite a bit more expensive almost everything else on the menu. I am glad that we got them, as they were beautifully prepared and extremely tasty, but I do like to know in advance how much I am being charged.

Love their new location in Short Hills, NJ. They have ~10 tables for al fresco outdoor dining .The owner treats you like family and the food is just as good as before. My favorite Italian restaurant in the area. BYOB!

Great restaurant! Only have been here once, but the service / ambiance and the quality of food did provide a good experience. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. A bit higher priced, the specialty soup Cozze pomo doro fresco was $15, the specialty Beef Short Rib was $39...however, both were great. Keep in mind it is BYOB. Did not bring our wine, but the owner was kind enough to bring us two glasses of good white wine - very outgoing guy, focused on you having a good time, the traditional Italian way. Would recommend to them a streamlined process for handling reservations and also dealing with everything when really busy. Will go back.

Owner wasn't friendly, and no reason for us to be waiting 5+ min to be seated when the place was half full and tables ready to go. Other wait staff and the dude with gold chains taking orders all seemed nice enough. Food was good - I had the fish special and my son the spaghetti carbonara - well presented but the flavors were a little flat. Nobody checked on us throughout, and having the owner dismissively give us the bill was uncalled for considering we ordered and ate without incident. I debated giving 3 stars, but the overall ambiance was pleasant and the food deserved 4. I'll try the other Italian restaurants in the area before I go back.

I cannot remember our waitress name, she was Caribbean, but she made our experience wonderful. She engaged us in conversation but was not overbearing. The food was just ok.

We have gone here a few times and the experience never disappoints. The staff is always professional, helpful, welcoming and the owner always comes by to see how you are enjoying. The portions are more than enough and the food always tasty! The fish dishes are my favorite and although I'm not a big dessert fan you can not go wrong with their bread pudding! Its BYOB.
