This place never disappoints! Delicious start to finish. Gracious greeting. Stuffed mushroom appetizer delectable- amazing herb sauce. Unlimited freshly baked baguettes. The best French onion soup - not salty and plenty of melted cheese. Veal beautifully cooked, so tasty and tender. Filet mignon perfect! Amazing housemade coconut ice cream and pineapple upside down cake baked to order. Great, fresh coffee. All in a beautiful, clean bathroom, cute setting. Perfect for occasions or date night. Well worth the ride from wherever you live.

Our fourth visit to this lovely local treasure. The menu is first rate and there are always numerous specials. The service is impeccable as Karen and Chino have many years of industry expertise, high standards, hire (and keep) great people. Wonderful place for special occasions as they treat their guests first class. Can’t say enough good things about Bon Appetit. Did I mention the cocktails are awesome too? A Classic French cuisine fine dining experience in a small town with an at home feel. The entrees were freshly prepared and tasted quite appetizing. The servers were attentive and welcoming. Owner/ manager seemed passionate and cared for their customers. We ordered pasta with vodka sauce with chicken instead of shrimp (8.5/10). They were glad to make the change. The vodka sauce is on point and I finished it entirely. Also, we tried the sirloin which tasted really good, they even suggested adding a bit of salt if needed (7/10). Bread was served prior to our entrees which was fresh and warm and went well with the butter. It is a great place to have dinner with family and friends. Would certainly visit again.

Fantastic, setting, atmosphere, food & service. Everyone was right on point & prompt. Server was excellent with just enough humor & explained the specials for the evening very descriptively ( rockfish was prepared just right). Wife had scallops she loved, daughter had salmon steak & devoured it.

We've been there several times and we've always had a great time and a wonderful meal. From the very first time the owner Karen has treated us like long time friends and the staff is very attentive to our needs. The restaurant is very cozy and the tables are spaced so that you're not elbow to elbow while you're eating. We live in the Harbeson area but it's worth the trip to Seaford we highly recommend it.

My fiancee and I had the most amazing time at Bon Appétit! We were celebrating one year of engagement and the whole staff at this beautiful restaurant made our experience above and beyond! Maggie, our server was so knowledgeable about food and wine and just FANTASTIC at her job. Everyone working that night was working so hard to make the atmosphere perfect for all patrons. The place is cute and inviting, clean and well maintained. We did not realize that you needed reservations (it's quite a small place) but Karen, the owner, got us a table anyway. And the food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We had appetizers, dinner and desserts, 2 split bottles of wine and a dessert martini each. We paid about $200 (without tip) which I would consider very reasonable for the quality and level of service we got. I could really rave about this place forever. We will be coming back for many date nights in the future!

Excellent food, excellent customer service

It's always a pleasure dining at Bon Appétit. My wife and I have been coming here for both special occasions and regular dinners for many years. Never had a bad meal or service. Our only disappointment this time was that the special we both wanted was unavailable. Maybe next time (and there will be a next time!).

This place has been a treasure for decades! My family has gone here over the years and it has always been outstanding. On my most recent visit I got the oyster appetizer, think of escargot with garlic and butter, only with oysters- fantastic! Oysters were cooked perfect and the butter sauce was just right, not too much garlic and great seasonings. I got the special which was rockfish topped with crabmeat. The rockfish and cooked just right, tender and not overpowered with seasoning but with a light butter sauce that made the dish bring out the flavor of the fish. I had the rice pudding for desert and it was heaven - it had a crème brûlée flavor. So impressed with the quality of the food and service every time I’ve been. Best meal you will find on the Eastern Shore!

We found this fem traveling back home. What a 5 star restaurant!! The menu items were unique and spectacular for us foodies. Service is excellent. You are not rushed. Great cocktails too. We are going to make this a yearly stop traveling from NJ south.

Best restaurant in Essex County west of Rehoboth & Lewes. The food is spectacular and service is excellent. Last visit all appetizers and all four main course were amazing.

First time I have eaten here have to say very nice place with very friendly staff that make sure everything is good and you are taken care of. The food was absolutely amazing sorry forgot to take pictures of food was really busy eating the amazing fresh baked bread they make and bring to the table. Will definitely be back again to try other things on the menu.

It is one of the nicer restaurants in the area with a variety of tasty dishes. Unlike its name, however, the menu items aren't strictly French. Keep that in mind, and you'll enjoy dining at this little Seaford gem.

Delayed Valentine's Day dinner. Perfect way to celebrate.

Visited for the first time tonight for my birthday. Warmly welcomed and seated immediately. Drinks were brought and generous. Service was impeccable, there when you needed it but not overbearing. Food was delicious from appetizer to dessert and was generously portioned. Can't say I have a single complaint about the place. We moved here to the rural area of Seaford from Dallas/Fort Worth and it's unbelievable to me to have a place here that matches the quality and service of a big city restaurant in Seaford. Highly recommended and we will return.

Always an amazing meal. I've traveled the world and the best restaurant I've ever been to is Bon Appetit in little old Sussex county.

I enjoyed the food immensely. sautéed Oysters, Gulf shrimp cooked just right. Old Fashioned did not have Luxardos as advertised. asked for dry parmesan and was informed they have served for 30 years. Not sure what this had to do with anything other than casting a pall over the evening.

This is one of those hole in the wall spots you would have never expected when you walk in and when you do, you don't want to tell anyone else so it's good. Your little secret. And let me tell you, it is a fabulous restaurant. The decor, lighting, smells of food cooking and other people in the background adding to the ambiance.

We have been visiting Bon Appetite for 15 years. Before retirement it was a weekly visit as I returned from travels and a night here was a nice way to begin a weekend. The consistency and predictability of everything from service to food make this a special restaurant. Karen is always accommodating to schedules and welcoming, the waitstaff well-versed, friendly, and efficient, and offerings and preparations of meals outstanding. We can’t say enough about how wonderfully predictable everything is at Bon Appetite. This is our favorite restaurant on the Eastern Shore!a

The reception by the owner is warm. The ambiance is warm. The menu is varied. The food was delicious. We have never been disappointed.

The staff was outstanding. The food was also outstanding. The portions for the appetizers were perfect, so you can actually finish your meal and happily order dessert. Go early and go hungry. I made a reservation 4 days in advance, requesting "sweetbreads"... they got 'em!!! An excellent place to dine.

What a delight to discover Bon Appétit Restaurant in Seaford, DE. The cocktails, appetizers, meals, and dessert were all excellent!

From the moment we entered the atmosphere & staff were inviting & friendly. The service team was friendly but not overbearing. Appetizers (escargot, etc) were just right. Entrees of salmon, rockfish, shrimp & soft shell crabs were delicious as all commented how good they were. Finished with chocolate mousse, peach cobbler-like & amaretto cheesecake = right on point. Only very small negative was bread was too hard(I know that’s a French style; just not my personal preference). All in all excellent!

This was supposed to be a special dinner for my 75th birthday. First of all....the decor left a lot to be desired....we waited almost an hour for our dinner....rice...unflavored rice was our side....the dinner rolls were the saving grace. I would never go back....if you want a truly 5 star restaurant...go to the Washington Inn in Cape May, N.J. A And then compare the two.

To say this place is incredible is an understatement. Their menu changes based on the availability of ingredients. Tonight my husband and I had the filo with goat cheese, stuffed mushrooms, delmonico with garlic butter sauce and half a duck with dig and port sauce. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse and the bread pudding. Everything was so flavorful, and had the right amount of seasoning. Our server Maggie was incredible with her menu suggestions and drink selection. We will definitely be back!

This is our favorite restaurant! Karen, Chino, Maggie, and all their staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, you really don’t get ambience like this in Delaware in my humble opinion. The food is always fresh and prepared deliciously! We would literally eat here every night if we could! We have come for birthdays, anniversaries, and just because we simply ❤️ this place, the owners, and staff!! I just made a review for an excellent restaurant that we ate at on vacation and realized that I need to review my favorite restaurant in the world (41 states and 11 countries so far). Hands down the best within 25 miles, and the best in the world for me because of consistency. I've been here 150-200 times since 1994, and always it has been very good, majority of the time it's excellent. Doesn't matter what I get, the flavor is great, the preparation is spot on and the presentation is wonderful. The staff is pleasant and the atmosphere is perfect. The husband is the chef and the wife handles the deserts and front of the house, which I believe is what makes this place. The personal stake they have in every dish/diner experience. From the fresh bread to the in house deserts and everything in between, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Karen and Chino.

Delicious food and formal atmosphere

Quality food, but seriously overpriced for what you get! For starters, the $8 "Assorted Tapas" appetizer comes with exactly TWO small items-- not exactly an "assortment"-- so miniscule, in fact, that it looks comical on the plate. The Big Sin here, however, is their Entrees: the average cost of each offering is over $32.00 (all but one costs over $30.00), which is what you'd expect in places like NYC, DuPont Circle (D.C.), or Le Bec-Fin (Phila.)-- but in SEAFORD DE??! They evidently justify such costs with a claim of "only the finest ingredients"-- but really, these are just basic restaurant offerings, and the sauces-- while delicious-- are NOT made with gold-leaf flecks or other rare "Unobtaina"! Charging $28 for a simple Chicken with Dijon, and $34 for a thin, dry piece of Grouper and some vegetables is beyond the pale. These offerings are NOT at the extreme edge of complexity in "haute cuisine," requiring super-exotic ingredients and high-skill, many-hours-long preparations and the assistance of a career sous-chef or two: you won't find such classics as "Coquilles St. Jacques" , "Tresse de Salmon et de Sole Aux Pates Verdes" , " or "Agneau Printanier au Thym et Legumes Caramelises" here. We also found the decor to be quite dated and generally "tired," and there were a few flies (FLIES!😬) buzzing around! At these prices and in that location they need to present a far higher standard of "customer experience" (as well as basic hygiene-- get rid of the flies!) Lastly, we did not appreciate having to listen to the waitress loudly sharing opinions (at another table) about local politics and union-matters for 10 minutes while we waited patiently to place our order! Bottom-line: While nice in many respects, this place is a terrible VALUE. For anyone willing to drive a little (as most other reviewers seem to be) for a special dinner-for-two-with-wine in the $200.00 range, there are many MANY better fine-dining options in Rehoboth, Annapolis, Baltimore, and elsewhere. At this price-point, you should expect to be DELIGHTED-- just not at Bon Appetit, Seaford.

Went there for my birthday and as usual all food was excellent and the service is the best. I asked for a drink I had in Florida and they went out of their way to try and duplicate. The best place to eat in western sussex or kent county around.going back tonight for husbands birthday dinner.

We have visited Bon Appetit several times after a long hiatus, due to COVID-19. Food quality, service and ambience, for which the restaurant is known, is back. I had such varied entrees as shad roe and veal Francaise. Several new wrinkles such as tapa appetizers and new desert options grace the menu, which is updated on a regular basis. Chino and Karen continue to excel in European cuisine, not available anywhere else in the area. The French onion soup is still better than that available in Paris. If you are up for a special night, I know of no place better than Bon Appetit. It has weathered the COVID storm and emerged as good as ever, a high standard.

Consistently exceptional food and service.

I think of this wonderful place quite often, I went with my Grandmother and Aunt as a young girl about 9 or 10 years ago. It left such wonderful memories, the staff was very welcoming. I loved the rose shaped butter and Tiramisu! I even took home the rose shaped butter in a little container they gave me to show my mom and dad back home in Maryland😊 One day I hope to dine here again ❤

Ate at Bon Appetite last night Nov. 6th with another couple, friends of ours. We all had a drink. I had a very generous glass of wine. The others each had a mixed drink. My stuffed mushrooms with sausage was very good. Sausage was nice and spicy. My French onion soup was also very good. Each of us had a different entree and all four of us we very satisfied. My husband had the chicken marsala, Our friends had the duck and the shrimp entree. My pumpkin flan was very good . Excellent service never rushed. The only suggestion that I have is that our server could have asked us if we wanted pepper with our meals. We definitly would return. All rules were followed because of the COVID.

Great wines, staff and food. Expanded seasonal menu makes a selection difficult. Same great place with warm rolls and elegant ambience. We forgot how much we liked it. We are talking about making it a regular in our Friday fun night.

Everything here was a 10! My husband has been telling me about this place for 10 years and trying to take me there. We just don't make it to Seaford that often. It was worth the trip! From the bread and butter, the poached clams, the French onion soup, the fish and vegetables, the seafood Alfredo, and the peanut butter ice cream dessert, everything was a 10! I can't wait to take friends here.

If you have no other reason to visit the state of Delaware, visit Bon Appetit Restaurant. We come every time we’re in town and yet to have a disappointing meal.

Dined there for the for the first time in three years on Saturday. Their prices are Ruth's Chris Steak House or Morton's level but the food quality was that of LongHorn or Texas Steakhouse. They seated us directly across from the kitchen door which was most disruptive to our dining pleasure. YES, we know that the Covid 19 rules are making for difficult seating arrangements. It would have been better that when we called to make reservations we were told that they were booked. The roast pork was very dry made edible by the grace of the mango sauce. The steak was somewhat acceptable and cooked to my liking however, it was NOT a $33.00 cut of steak. I had better quality steaks at LongHorn's. The scallops were DELICIOUS but few in number. They highlight the "atmosphere" on their web site. Our table lacked any atmosphere. Bottom line is that a $200.00 bill for three people, given the lack of quality, was a total waste of financial resources. Lesson learned.

Just a great dinning experience. Nice atmosphere, friendly, accommodating, delicious food. If you didn't like the dessert as I see one review, go to McDonald's for an apple pie. Another review too expensive, go eat somewhere with a coupon.

Dined here for the first time this week, and will be going back!! Lovely upscale restaurant with ambiance and flair. Yummy food (Sea scallops, fresh french rolls, Lemon cake were all wonderful) great service, and relaxing atmosphere are worth the price for a special evening.

Can't believe we live minutes from this hidden gem of a French restaurant in Seaford, Delaware. We've been to this place quite a few times already and everything has always been great. Most importantly the food is up to par with the best of the restaurants in metropolitan DC area and this is a great place to stop for dinner on the way to the beaches. Our latest meal was on Valentine's day -- clams and artichoke dip for appetizers followed by lamb chops and rockfish for entrees, plus some great cocktails to start us off. We'll be back whenever we can because this place has never disappointed us.

Valentine's Day Service and Excellent Cuisine were perfect in every aspect, Bon Appetit

Old school restaurant with tablecloths, place settings, ambiance lighting. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. Scallops were perfectly cooked. Vegetables were fresh and flavorful. Chocolate mousse was delicious, light and airy.

I have gone to Bon Appetit many times over the years. When I went last September, everything, except the poached pear, was excellent. When I went last night, my husband and I were terribly disappointed. The atmosphere and appetizer were wonderful, but the soup, salad dressing and cheesecake were bland, and the filet was inedible. We both took one bite and left it. It tasted old. We told our server and she offered another, but we declined. We did not want to chance another, nor did we want to wait for one to be cooked. Sadly, we will probably not go back again. (The desserts were always lacking. )

Lamb and filet were cooked to perfection. Sides were also very tasty. Atmosphere is French old world and very cosy.
