If they like you they will give you great service. Red shirt lady is pretty rude for no reason. Sushi is the grocery store quality.

Can’t just call and make a takeout order like any other restaurant. Had to call 7 TIMES before someone FINALLY answered. They tell me it’ll be ready in 20 minutes so when I get there 20 minutes later TELL ME WHY THEY TELL ME ITS GOING TO BE ANOTHER 20 Minutes and there’s not another soul in the Restuarant. Not to mention my calls were being forwarded!!!

Sushi was awful. It fell apart before even soaking into soy sauce. The rice is overcooked. Also expensive for Clinton.

This is a family favorite. The food is consistently good! We ate at the Clinton location and we love it because it’s not as crowded as the other location.

service was amazing but the prices are to high for the food to be mid and nasty the sauce was old and clumpy. salad dressing tastes like mayo food was alright but not the best didn’t sit well on anyone of my companions smoatchs gave us diarrhea & our smoatchs felt out of our body’s and just so bad could barley walk idk if the food was uncooked but it was borderline disgusting for the prices to be the way they are do better SMH.

We started with a ten minute wait when there was literally only one other table occupied. Then the salad had what tasted like mayo on it- was terrible. Lastly at 8:15, we tried to order more wine and dessert but they promptly told us that they were closed and could no longer serve us. While I understand that hours posted state an 8 pm closure, that's when you stop taking walkins not when you kick people out. I've worked plenty of restaurant jobs and we always let our patrons stay (and serve them) until they were ready to leave. I will say that the chef was very accommodating with my son's picky requests! Sadly in the end our normal 20-25% tip turned into 10%.

👎👎Came in and said , just one person. Didn't won't hibachi . Just want sushi roll and maybe something else . Kind of looked at me crazy like it was a problem. I just said never mind and so I left. The wasn't even busy and had plenty of tables. Whatever!

I bought 2 sushi rolls, an order of calamari, and a shrimp and steak dinner hibachi for $80. Sushi was okay, but not tasteful nor fresh tasting. Hibachi rice was bland, no seasoning. Calamari was the best of out the entire order but only received 6 pieces. Food is too overpriced to not have taste. Pink sauce tasted old and was clumpy.

Your whole family of 4 can eat for about 250$

I had a sushi roll, an egg roll, and chicken/steak hibachi. I loved every part. I was as full as a tick leaving this place. Nothing about this place was unacceptable. Everything was great. I would recommend.

The food was soooooooo delicious and flavorful! My sirloin was cooked perfectly. My daughter loved it so much, our chef was engaging and highly entertaining. I definitely recommend giving them a try!

2 years ago we ate here. They literally served us rancid sushi. We decided not leave a review because they took it seriously at the time. We tried it again today. It wasn't rancid but all the sticky rice and raw fish were warm. Even the California rolls were warm. The yellowtail was heavily salted. I'm assuming it's salted in a poor attempt to preserve shelf life. At this point a call to the health dept is in order.

Just Go!! But their shrimp sauce is different different. I didn’t like it at all!! Good service but slow. Food was very tasty tho. Typical mid-upscale version of hibachi style restaurant.

Nice place. I believe the child menu age group should b at least 15 cause 8 kids and only ate half the food for price of adult is expensive

I really enjoyed the food here and the service was really fast! Clinton needed a sit down Japanese restaurant! I would suggest the Louisiana crawfish roll and the California roll to anyone! It’s not exactly like the original bonsai but it’s close! The waiters and waitresses that I have had have been really nice with quick service. Prices are about the same as the original but well worth it! Update: they are back open and serving the same great quality of food!

The food here is always good. Have never had a bad experience. The wait staff keeps a sharp look out for your needs and is prompt to fill them. It is a little pricey but the serving size is ample and we generally have leftovers! Overall my family rates them as an A+.

This was one of the worst lunch experiences I've ever had. I will say that overall the Waitstaff was respectful and the clear soup and edamame was good. However, those were the only two things that we recieved that were even semi edible and enjoyable. The hibachi chef had no energy and overcooked everything he touched. The scallops were rubber , we ordered a medium rare steak and it came out well done. We ordered a grilled squid and it stank and tasted of old fish and was overcooked. All the ingredients they used seemed to lack freshness. For example, when the chef cracked an egg on the grill it came out a solid coagulated mess unlike something i had ever seen and he proceeded to mix it into the rice. They failed to properly cook something as simple as fried gyoza leaving one side completely uncooked and soggy on every dumpling . I ordered a bento box from the kitchen and my teriyaki chicken was murdered and even my steamed rice was alittle under and bland. This is a sorry excuse for a hibachi/ japenese restaurant especially at roughly $20-40 a head depending on what you order. Would highly recommend not wasting your money on this place and for you to find somewhere else.

The food was really good. The service was lacking and the portions were very small for the price. I got the shrimp and steak rice and my daughter got the child’s chicken fried rice and it was $50. It was good though. I’m just used to having left over when I spend that much on hibachi.

It was my first time and and frankly am not disappointed. There's plenty of food options for the Hibachi dishes ranging from steak to fish. Today I had the pleasure of enjoying the steak and chicken combo with fried rice which was pretty substantial in value and flavor. Chicken and steak were cooked to perfection along with th3 fried rice. Waiters were very friendly and nice as well. I really enjoyed their service and would recommend this place both for good food and good service. Overall I was very impressed with both the quality of the Food and the people. I highly recommend this place for meals with friends and family.

Never been here before, so was ready for a new experience. It lived up to my expectations. I had the filet/veggies, actually ended up with more food than I could eat in 2 DAYS. 7 people around the grill...and was quite a show. Little pricey, but what the hay...all good.

Staff is super friendly everyone is nice, the cooks are entertaining as always at hibachi places. I got the shrimp habachi and it tasted bland. I’ve eaten at a lot of hibachi places and this one is definetly at the bottom as far as the flavor of the food goes. Great service though and their jalapeño bombs are decent. If I ever do go back, maybe I’ll try their sushi.

The food and service was pretty good. It was only me and my girlfriend that dined in. I was charged a 10% gratuity surcharge on my bill for only 2 adults. So no I didnt tip because of a 10% surcharge

Absolutely amazing! Staff was friendly, food was PERFECT, beautiful environment, and they were completely on top of keeping our beverages refilled. The best part? We paid way less than most hibachi places! You bet it’s going to be a big tip tonight!

Average Teppanyaki. It was tasty but nothing special.

Food is always good and great service. You have the option of sitting on the sushi side (restaurant table style) or hibachi.

It's an enjoyable experience, everytime I go. The service is prompt, whether you dine-in or get it to go. The staff is very friendly. It's also a clean environment, which is very important when it comes to restaurants. I'd recommend this place to anyone

This is the first time I have eaten Hibachi so I can only compare it to other Steakhouses that I have been too, but in saying that, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The chef was entertaining, the waiter was great. We never once ran out of something to drink. He was very observant and patient with our requests for sauces. The meat, soup, and soy sauce was a little salty to me but not overbearing. The taste was very good. I’m giving four stars for the temperature of the place and it seemed like the food seasonings were not individualized per food. After the chef finished it did get quite warm. However, I will try more Hibachi now.

We are in Clinton on business, and we usually stop at Froghead Grill, decided to try Japanese. We are so glad we did! It feels intimate, even though you hear others, atmosphere nice. Staff attentive, but not bothersome. The food was so good and plentiful. I had chicken teriyaki with steamed rice, no vague, no salad, no soup, came just As I ordered. Tastes. My husband ordered tempura shrimp us in soup. Oh, my gosh, it was so much food!!! He took a quart of soup home for lunch tomorrow. Highly recommend.

Good Food & Good Experience: Hibachi

58 years old and never been to a Japanese restaurant. Well, don't be scared. This experience was amazing. Entertaining to watch food being prepared and was cooked to perfection. I'm ready to do this again.

Found quite by accident and we're glad we did. It's not the huge metropolitan hibachi restaurants we are used to but it was nice none the less. We were the only 2 at the table as it was near closing time. Just before the chef began another person was seated with us. Great selection and friendly staff provided us with plenty of leftovers to take with us for lunch the next day.

The food was delicious, very friendly people, and the chef was out of this world😁😁😁

This Bonsai is the best out of other Japanese restaurants in the area. The food good people good, bathroom clean.When feel like having Japanese food I go to this restaurant .

Our server was so friendly and so was our cook. We had steak and shrimp combo with the dynamite roll and lousiana roll. It was very good and worth the $80 we paid. The restaurant was very clean and we enjoyed our visit. The only thing I didnt like was the pink sauce. But other than that it was great. We will be back again next time we are in Clinton.

I had a good time. Habachi was tasty. Service was attentive. The stand out is the Cajun Crawfish sushi roll. It was stuffed with Crawfish meat and accented with a spicy mayo. Oh my gosh. Fantastic. I would go again if I was in the area.

They have the best Dynamite rolls I have ever tasted! We went as a family of 6 and they were able to sit us down within minutes. Soon after our cook comes out and begins the show. He did a few pranks for the kids(my nephews) and participated them in catching food with their mouths. Kids absolutely loved it and I did too! The food is always great, carry out and sit in.

Clean. Good dinner portions. Chicken & shrimp was good but they don't devein their shrimp. The soup tasted different & the wontons were larger than what I'm used to & were not crispy. In spite of that, I would visit again.

I can fondly remember going to bonsai I as a child. Going here always brings back good memories and the service is usually really good.

When we arrived, we had to wait 15 minutes at the door. Then we were seated at a table with 5 other folks to start our dining experience. The place was busy but the service staff did things that did not make our 20 minute wait to be spoken to at the table any better. The meal was good and the cook did a nice job. It was as difficult to leave as it had been to get service. Finally, we got out checks, paid and left. The two hours spent there included waiting coming in and again leaving. I have been there when they were not having issues, and food and service were both good.
