Nice and nostalgic place. Ice cream is very good with more than enough flavors and toppings for all tastes. Staff was nice and friendly will stop back on on a return visit.

Borden's no longer makes Ice Cream, so where do they get their's from?

This was a great experience. I saw a little girl (probably 10 years old) order a banana split, when they handed it to her, the look on that child’s face was priceless. So, I ordered a banana split for my own. It was incredible. You need to go give this a try.

Fun and Tasty. Chili Dog and ice cream are very good and reasonably priced. Staff is very friendly. The restaurant is very charming.

We were ignored by staff for 10 minutes as they spoke about how they were annoyed with having to serve customers infront of us and others. A staff member who had made eye contact with us multiple times made no effort to help us or get us help, and left to go count tips in the back. After the tips were grabbed they slapped the tip bucket on the counter. From experience, this isn’t a hard job 😬

What a great Lafayette tradition. Kind service, not fast, but make the best shakes and sundaes. Store is even more vibrant and fun than it was when we came in the 1970s. An absolute must visit anytime you are in town.

They don't have sympathy my friend purchased a dip cone dip in chocolate after she receive ice-cream from bordens she never got better had to be rushed to the hospital from sour ice-cream

I was very surprised to see a Borden’s ice cream shop! I loved drinking Borden’s milk for so many years. Now I don’t drink milk for health reasons but it doesn’t stop me from eating ice cream as a treat!! I ordered just regular vanilla ice cream and it was good. Not too sweet not too plain.

I grew up with my extended family owning a soda and ice cream shop in rural Louisiana. They dot the rural Cajun area, many of them as old or older than Borden's. While they are sadly missing now-a-days from almost every where else in the country, Cajuns have kept them alive. Borden's is the oldest in the Lafayette area by far and much nicer than those little mom & pop places you will find out in the country. For many of us it is a trip straight back to our childhoods. If you have children make sure you bring them in and introduce them to the ice cream social. It is a tradition we should never let die.

I had the strawberry shortcake Ice cream, and my friend had a banana split, it was very good . The Ice cream has that old fashioned tast that brings you back when you were a kid.🤩🤩🤩

Super nice kids working here. And great ice cream flavors and options! It's old school and chill. Be prepared to wait a few minutes in line, they make it all as it's ordered. Even the ice cream sandwiches.

Stopped in for ice cream. It's been a long time since I went. Love the atmosphere and the employees are great! Ended up getting cookies & cream ice cream with oreo and waffle pieces as topping. The homemade ice cream is totally worth it. It was very busy with kids getting off of school.

I got the chocolate malt because of the rave reviews I saw for their malts on Google. Wow! I was surprised how good it was! She did put extra chocolate in my malt though, which I think really helped.

Best ice cream shop in cajun County

Ice cream doesn't taste like it should. I had strawberry cheesecake that didn't taste like strawberry. My son tested the coffee flavor and he didn't like it.

Pleasant place to enjoy your ice cream.They have a good variety and prices are very reasonable.They even have puddings which they sell in gallons .3 big gallons of ice cream in around 44$ .You can enjoy with family whole of your summers .Menu is attached .I got this chocolate pudding big 3 gallon box in same price .They have slightly increased prices for some other flavors which goes around 58$ for 3 gallons. They have variety of sprinkles and other items which kids love on their ice creams .They even have malts which are too good,cookies,sorbet,shakes and what not.Sowhat are you waiting for please go and enjoy!! They even have ample of parking space ,so no worries .Even outdoor seating is available to enjoy the road side view in the evening 🌆
