Chicken burrito is the best I’ve ever had!

Fantastic food. You most try their costillo tacos or burrito. The Birria tacos are amazing although it doesn't come with the stew but that's fine it's still amazingly flavorful. My wife loves their grilled fish tacos and the chicken tacos as well. The horchata is different than what I'm used to but it's still delicious. A must try spot for Mexican spots in Ypsi. We've tried almost all of them and the trucks but non beat Borimex.

This was some of the best Mexican food in Michigan. Ive added pictures with prices from 06/2024.

Owner doesn’t even respect their patrons enough to fix things when things are wrong. Read their snarky comments back to their customers on here. Food lacked flavor felt reheated. Nothing authentic about it.

I ordered the Birria Taco dinner with rice and beans. I guess I was expecting the viral version of birria tacos with the fried tortillas in the beef juice and queso. What I received was shredded beef on steamed tortillas and onions and cilantro. With a side of spicy salsa and guacamole. Nonetheless, the tacos were tasty. Just not what I was expecting. The beans and rice, however were nothing special. I love rice and beans, but these were bland.

This restaurant isn’t hard to find and is easy to order. The menu is straight forward. I ordered the carne asada. Typically, this is a marinated beef in a corn tortilla. The highlight of carne asada is usually spices and tender meat in corn tortillas. The carne asada I was served had almost no flavor. To say it lacked flavor would be an understatement. The most flavorful item on the plate was the onions which had little to no seasonings. The meat was cooked until there wasn’t any tenderness left in it. It was served as a slab and they provided a butter knife to cut the dry and tough beef apart. Maybe an off day or an oversight by the cook, but this was not a carne asada I would serve as a restaurant owner. Certainly not something to call authentic Mexican unless that term is just being used as a marketing.

Been to tons of Mexican restaurants in Michigan and this one is my favorite. Fresh and delicious, taco meat is tender and fried burrito was perfectly browned and crispy. We’ll be back for sure.

Authentic Mexican food in Ann Arbor? It exists, thanks to Borimex. Their taco dinners always hit the spot, highly recommend the pastor, barbacoa, and birria. Excellent corn tortillas and chili sauces. You will always leave feeling satisfied.

Was headed back home to Grand Rapids and googled restaurants near me. This spot came up so I decided to check em out. The tacos was magnificent. The rice was very delicious. Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had. Definitely was worth the stop. I would’ve posted a pic but I ate my food too fast.

Borimex was tasty. The tacos were a tad pricy but still flavorful and well done. I always appreciate when somewhere offers chicken tinga, I got that, the shrimp, and the al pastor.

Delicious food, menu has abundant options, and the service is quick. Perfect if you want a meal on the go

Borimex Restaurant is a pleasant place to stop for a meal. Very well lit and spacious. Definitely not overfurnished. We ordered 3 tacos between two of us and were charged the 3 taco combo price without asking. Food took a couple of minutes to arrive and was clearly freshly prepared. Close to US 23, so easy for travelers. Bathrooms clean, although the purse hook in the ladies could be moved to make it more useful. Broad menu.

This was the best meal I’ve had in my entire life. I know that seems like a bold claim, but it’s absolutely true. I thought I died and went to heaven. Also, try the tres leches cake, it is out of this world.

Maybe the best taco de pastor that I’ve ever had. The carnitas and chorizo were also top notch.

It's a strip mall place, so the ambiance is just that, but it was clean and pleasant. Prices were reasonable and the food was good. However, tacos only came with raw onion, lime and cilantro and would have benefited from tomato, lettuce and cheese. The enchilada dinner was excellent!

Food was a little dry, but taste was good. Decently good authentic mexican food. It seems the kitchen also works the dining room, so very minimal service (drink refills, extra guac...etc).

Service was friendly and helpful. Dinning room was clean. Steak Fajitas were better than Mexican village and Mexican Fiesta. Definitely going to be back.

No non-sense home style Mexican food. Best I've had in the area.

Authentic street tacos. These took me home and the Suadero took me to a place I have never been. The flavor of the suadero is outstanding and is perfectly charred. The food is definitely worth it but it is a little pricey here. 3 bux a taco and 5 for the specials. Average person eats 3-4 steet tacos. The beans and rice were on point too. The flavors are all from homemade cooking. Nothing like this. Only two places in MI I have found that are 💯 no BS. This is one of them so far.

Amazing food! Delicious and fresh!!

We’ve been wanting to try this place as we drive by it often. We were greeted when we walked in, promptly ordered, and sat at one of the I think 7 tables. It was clean, well lit with background Mexican flavor music. The food was excellent and portions were ample. We order the 3 taco dinner which came with rice and beans and the combo meal. The beans were exceptionally tasty! Would definitely recommend and we will be back!

Damn this place is delicious. Quite hidden gem. This might be the best Mexican I have had in the state. The red sauce has a kick, but man it's good.

Absolutely delicious. It's a small little hole in the wall that has really good hot sauce and everything is seasoned. We had quesadillas and fajitas, both were good and we all left full. Staff is friendly as well! I'll go out of my way just to eat here again.

My wife and I got the combo dinner that comes with a taco, enchilada, & burrito, with rice & beans and the shrimp fajitas! We also had their jamaica and horchata! Everything was excellent! Home cooking quality! We’ll be back!
