What brought me in was the cute name, bread & butter. I'm so glad I went, their orange juice is freshly squeezed and the breakfast was amazing. Definitely will come bsck.

Food was delicious. Didn't have the tea I like but I got the next best kind. Copious amount of food. Did not slip on the breakfast meat. Definitely worth it!

Great breakfast and lunch place. When the other downtown restaurants have lines out the door, this counter-service restaurant is an oasis. So friendly, delicious food, what more could you want? Four words for you: Bananas foster French toast. Ok two more: breakfast potatoes.

If you are ever in New Orleans, make sure to have breakfast or lunch at Bread and Butter Cafe. The staff are friendly and make you feel like family. The food is delicious!!!! Breakfast is served all day and there are daily specials. It was so good that we went 3 days in a row during our visit.

YES!!! Breakfast here was such a lovely experience. Very reasonable prices, big portions, and THE FRIENDLIEST STAFF I think I’ve ever experienced anywhere. I had the delicious green tomato Benedict, an iced latte (no up charge for almond milk!!) and wonderful conversation with the employees. I sat outside by choice, there is ample seating inside.

Nice cozy restaurant with great breakfast! It was very close to hotel and food was fresh, tasted great, and good prices. Staff was very kind. I had the hot sausage omelette.

We spied Bread and butter from our hotel room. After a disastrous breakfast at ANOTHER restaurant 2 days ago we were ELATED to dine here! The BEST chicken EVER. Waffles are light and fluffy, banana French toast ... drizzled with light syrup and sprinkled lightly with sugar and cinnamon is to DIE FOR! Dominique and Ms. Desert were most hospitable.

Dominique and Miss Deddy are fabulous. This is the best food we have had in New Orleans. Must have the chicken and waffles.

Excellent simple cafe with so affordable prices . Compare to all others around it s the perfect place to be welcome truly warmly and pay cheap for good food ....a croissant with ham get 4 layers of meat, bacon is delicious and just crispy as must be. chef coming to make sure the order will be right as we asked at counter . Super cool place I recommend to be in a real USA tradi environment

Did not even know about this place. Got caught up in the rain and we walked in for a little snack. Immediately was greeted with smiles and amazing music. I ordered a macchiato and a crawfish biscuit. Yall everything was so good. Will definitely be back every time I come into town! Thank you Dominique and the rest of the staff yall are truly amazing.

Love this spot next to my house right at the downtown. Its a counter service type restaurant where you prepay first and get the food at your table by either kitchen chef or other staff. Prices are very reasonable not expensive for the same type of food you get at other spot with big price tag. Plus you get breakfast potatoes and small salad with benedicts which i liked most. Quality of the food is amazing along with freshly squeezed orange juice which they make in front of you after you pay. Being a vegetarian person i liked the lots of veg options includes fried green tomatoes benedict and avocado toast they have on the menu with the local and traditional touch of new orleans seasoning. I go there once in every two weeks.

We went there because of high ratings. disappointed. Location was great can’t denied it. Service was good. Felt welcome. Food….we went there because of crepes. No crepes. other items…greasy, tasted funny, Etc. and the coffee…it was just off. felt bad we didn’t see a Waffle House restaurant around….should have gone there instead

Honestly, most welcome and wholesome place found since visiting for Australia! Yes we have met many lovely people and had yummy food! But walked in and nothing was a problem! They have proper coffee, I originally ordered Avocado on toast but the Avocados were still hard! So choose totally left field and got the Breaky Poboy… first bite was like wow so good! Partner had pancakes with chocolate chips! Also so good! Value for money extremely high! Would return or recommend in a heart beat

Stopped here one day because the place we were originally going to go line was wayyyy to long with us having a 8 month old and do not regret anything!!! It is now a weekly Occurrence for our family! The staff is as sweet as their French toast! I wouldn’t want to spend my family’s breakfast date anywhere else!!!

Dee welcomed us in from the door. We all had the crawfish omelette and all loved it. Fantastic omelette! The potatoes were crispy and lightly spiced. There should have been a line out the door for brunch here. Very clean and comfortable cafe.

This place was recommended to me by a kind lady at our hotel. I have 0 negative things to say about this place. It was fast, clean, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and the food was AMAZING. When you walk in, it doesn’t look like much but the flavor you get is insane. It was also presented so beautifully. I was not prepared for the appearance or the amazing flavor!! I got the waffles & berries with fresh squeezed orange juice and it was the best breakfast I have had on a vacation ever.

Don’t waste your time and money going to this restaurant. The customer service is horrible. They don’t seat you, you have to place your order at the counter and don’t even think of getting something to drink. That just to much for them to handle. When the food comes out it looks pretty but it’s flavorless! Did I mention that it smells and bugs attack as soon as the food gets on your table.

Not sure how this place has place 4.6 stars. Woman working the counter on a Sunday morning did the absolute bare minimum. Food was fine but nothing to write home about. Ambiance was actually pretty gross - not very clean, missing napkins, and with flies buzzing around. Would not recommend.

Had the egg and cheese croissant with potatoes and it was amazing. Maybe the best breakfast food I've ever had!

Food was good. We got the traditional eggs Benedict and the chicken and waffle and the egg and sausage breakfast sandwich. The sandwich came out of the kitchen after 10 minutes - the chicken and waffle and Benedict took 25. The egg was almost too runny on the Benedict with the white still being clear and runny. The waffle was a bit flavorless but the chicken was perfect. Homemade whipped cream.

I and several others had to leave as there was no service.
