Great service, great breakfast, awesome grits!!!

This restaurant was excellent!! The hospitality was on point, the food was GREAT and our order was delivered to our table expeditiously!! From Texas to Louisiana, thank you for treating us so well!!!

This is one of the best places I’ve eat in a long time! The food was delicious (and at a steal considering the amount you get for the price) and the customer service was awesome. You walk in and feel so welcome. We’re visiting from out of town and will definitely be coming back here the next time we’re in the area.

The food is always amazing here. The cheese grits are the best grits I have ever had. Their plate lunches are really good, too. I always try and make it for breakfast or lunch if I have time because this place is great!

The customer service at this restaurant was above and beyond. It is not a fancy restaurant. Just a little cafeteria downtown. I went for red beans and rice. Even though I was dining in, it came in a to go box with plastic silverware. I’m guessing they do not have regular dinnerware and silverware. I was surprised to have a small salad and yummy piece of sponge cake. The food was very good, but the two cashiers were so exquisitely friendly with all green flags. They encouraged me to try the commended lemonade, but when I ordered a Coke offered a raspberry lemonade sample. It was delicious. Very pleasant experience.

I was greeted at the register like a long time friend. The food was excellent the atmosphere was comfortable. Everyone in or group really enjoyed their orders. The red beans & rice and Mac & cheese were the best I'd ever had. I found myself scrapping the bottom of the bowl. What really sold it for me was the warmest greeting and the most honest thanks for our service! I'll be back every time I come into town.

The Brown Skillet Restaurant was wonderful! Food is exceptional with an endless variety of menu options to please any taste. And the customer service was very friendly and professional. This is a great place in the heart of downtown Lafayette that is great for individuals, families, groups, and others to have a great meal (dine in or pick up). You'll love it!

Needs improvement, today Is Friday & they menu was false advertised (didn’t have the crawfish. Étouffée after saying on the menu only on fridays ) shrimp was pretty good but my fries was burned and unseasoned , my salad didn’t have any sauce and I was only given one napkin . & 3 ketchups .& I paid$13 for a shrimp plate for very little unseasoned food . I give the shrimp plate & my overall experience a 4 they need to drop the prices

Absolutely amazing!!! My boyfriend and I love going to this restaurant. The owner and employees are always welcoming and polite! The food is always amazing, always cooked right and the presentation is wonderful! Every meal is so heart warming. I will always go back for the experience. Thank you!! I recommend the breakfast cup or the big country breakfast. I don't like to eat grits, but they have the best grits I've ever tasted. 10/10

The best customer service and food downtown. Fried okra is a hit and miss at most places, but Brown Skillet had the best fried okra I've ever eaten. Lets not forget the variety flavors of lemonade. I'm addicted. Thanks Mr. Brown and staff.

If you want a fresh, home-cooked southern meal, come here!! Everything is great. From the fried chicken plates to the hamburger and gravy to the red beans and rice… freaking delicious!! One note, the fried chicken takes about 15 min to cook fresh to order so give it time. The people who own this restaurant are amazing and Incredibly friendly as well!! We will definitely be coming back

Brown Skillet is an awesome restaurant. From the food(delicious! Both breakfast and lunch), the atmosphere(it is so clean!), the service(they make sure you feel welcome and want to stay for awhile), and the prices(reasonable), they make you want to continue to patronize them. The lemonade: oh em gee! That's not the only reason I keep going back but it's the main reason.

Two of us ate a complete meal for less than $30 this included our drinks. The red beans and rice surpassed Popeyes, red beans and rice.

My son and I live upstairs from this incredible restaurant. We finally went in and ordered shrimp poboy meal for my son. Quality of the good is amazing!! When I first walked into the place the young man Tyran greeted me with a warm welcome. He offered me the special for the day and that's what I ordered. The baked chicken and macaroni were delicious. While I waited for my order I watched him role play with what I'm assuming is a new employee. I like the fact that the same way he greeted me is how he was teaching her. I will definitely be back. I love spending my hard earned money at a place that treats you like they do!

Wow...the best burger I've had in ages, hands down! My sis picked up lunch for us, first time here. We'll definitely be back. We both had a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and a side of onion rings that we split. Onion rings were 100% homemade and so were the HUGE burgers. You sure get your $ worth here. You could tell they cook with love and that it's their passion. My sis also said they were extremely nice and friendly. Can't wait to try something else!

If you haven't tried their Breakfast in a Cup you are missing out! The grits were perfectly seasoned---I mean PERFECT! No butter or salt was needed! The eggs and bacon on top of the grits were cooked to perfection. The food and the people here are wonderful! I have not had a bad experience and always am happy to return. You won't be sorry.
