Great food, friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Freshest food, and meat is seasoned perfectly. 5 stars every time and always the best service with a big smile.

The food was absolutely amazing and it's been awhile since I've had a good burger and it's absolutely incredible +10/10. The staff were so kind and the atmosphere might seem a little bit desolate at first but it really was the best place to stop by if you're hungry and on a trip or if you really want good food

Lovely little restaurant! Lots of menu options, including several good vegetarian options. My husband loved his shrimp and corn bisque. Fresh and healthy food from a local business.

As I was eating, a lady came in and saw a friend eating as well. “You know about this secret too?” she asked. “Luckily,” he said. It’s a hidden gem that’s worth exposing. Fresh, hot food and comfortable conversation are hard to come by in this town, but Cafe Desoto has both. Try it out; get in on the secret! (Best Po-Boy in town)

Stopped in after a few years away, as good as ever. One of my favorite cafes anywhere. Gumbo, tacos, burgers, quesadillas. Love it all.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Cafe DeSoto! Everything was fresh & cooked to order. The roasted butternut squash was to die for! The service was wonderful & the prices were reasonable. Thank you for a great meal & a nice time!

This place is great! My map took me to Tamp and Grind but I quickly figured out that I needed to go around the corner. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was great. My only complaint is that they don't have any high chairs for kids

It's a nice, small café in downtown Alexandria. There's seating available inside and out. It definitely reminds me of the kind of small town café I grew up going to where the staff is super friendly and personable! You can tell the community loves them by the amount of to-go orders and customers that are on first-name basis with the staff. There's also artwork for sale inside!

Gumbo was delicious. Very nice staff. Clean establishment. Try ‘em!

Food was good, but service -- if you could call it that -- was astonishingly bad. There were only 3 two-person groups being served and it took nearly an hour to get our food. The cook walked out mid order to smoke. When he finally returned, he didn't even wash his hands He also very gruffly turned away half a dozen groups with no apology or explanation.

Delicious tacos and Philly cheesesteak

What a surprise to find a lunch spot that hit the spot! While we were waiting for our Tesla car to charge, we walked into this humble restaurant around the corner. I had their special for the day, Gumbo; my husband had the Cuban sandwich, and our little boy had the grilled cheese. There was not one crumb left on any our plates. There was a steady flow of folks coming in and out for their lunch break. Nice artwork for sale on the walls. Clean bathroom. Service with a friendly smile. Now, they were running low on plain potato chips, but not anyone's fault...it happens. Will stop again if we ever do another re-charge through this town.

2/28/22 dined here for the first time around 1:20 P.M. It was not too busy--the other patrons placed their orders and the chef was making everything fresh to order in front of our faces. This place is quite unique! It definitely hits the spot! The chef had a very friendly smile and he assured us that he would be with us as soon as he cranked out the previous made orders. 1. The gumbo--YUMMY!!!!!!! Very good with the cilantro 🍚 rice!!! 2. The black beans--quality black beans--cooked very well. 3. The steak street taco--OH MY!!!! THE meat that he uses must be some of the BEST on the market. 4. The Butternut Squash!!! Yummy!!!!!!!!!!! I will definitely be back. Fresh and quality food prepared with 💘 ! I wish he would add groundmeat tacos to the menu. Be patient with him. He is the only worker at this time. The wait is well worth it!

A little jewel tucked away in downtown Alexandria. The menu is small and the focus lies on creating delicious food. I’ve tried the BLT and Cuban (pictured) sandwiches, and look forward to going back and sampling burritos and salads. Definitely worth your while if you find yourself in the neighborhood and crave something fresh!

Cleanest cafe in downtown Alex. Great food, the chef is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Lots of local and New Orleans art on the walls- some for sale. Pictured is the Mediterranean panini and past salad.

Incredible tacos at a very reasonable price. Small quaint atmosphere for a quick dive in but also accessible for takeout orders. Blackened Shrimp and marinated steak and street tacos are some of the best I’ve had.

I personally have had the Chef's Cuban and the Desoto Burger, neither disappointed. The girlfriend raved about the chicken tacos. We just moved our office downtown and this place is phenomenal. Support Local. Honestly, Support one of if not the best burger in town.

This place was fantastic. We were traveling and called ahead. They accommodated us even though they were about to close. The food was incredible, fresh, healthy and delicious!

Delicious burger in a small but enjoyable environment. Just be aware that they don’t have fries if you’re expecting that. Great service.

Great spot to eat lunch. We customized our order and it was made just how we asked! The food was fresh, made to order, and served quickly. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and patient. The BLT was amazing!!! We will be back to try the burgers next.

So thankful for some variety in Alexandria! I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered from here. Ingredients are always fresh. Service is great. The restaurant is very clean. I've even placed a large order for a meeting and Brad was great working with me and helping me figure out what all to get. I highly recommend trying Cafe Desoto!

Good food and the owner is always there to make sure everyone has what they need. I especially love the street tacos and cilantro lime rice.

Great little spot with awesome tacos, sandwiches and specials in a cool historic storefront. Great flavors, great quality and good portions - all courtesy of Brad, the owner. While you’re there, check out the local art for sale on the walls.

Food is great though service a little slow but that was due to how busy they are, worth the wait...
