The design of this place is so comforting! The food was solid. The service was great as well! Will definitely be coming back here.

Homestead Cafe is exquisite in every way! This is my third time eating here and it has been a delightful experience every time. From the high quality ingredients grown on the property to the delicious flavor combinations to the beautiful visual appeal, the dishes are truly exceptional. I highly recommend the country fried steaks, Cobb salad, fresh brewed iced teas, and the sorghum pecan ice cream. The service is kind, attentive, and helpful. The decor is gorgeous with handmade wood furniture and ceiling beams, woven tapestries, paintings from a local artist, and wrought iron artwork. The atmosphere is peaceful and happy. Homestead is a place unlike any other and well worth visiting multiple times!

Boy, that burger, fries, peach tea, and salad with ranch were ddeeeeeliciousss! We had the blackberry cobbler with sorghum homemade icecream afterwards, I about died and went to heaven. I don't even like cobbler. Thank you Jesus for this place. Excellent service from Jessica and such a beautiful building too!

This place has amazing food and taste great.

The food was incredible! We had the Georgia Peach tea to drink, as recommended by our waitress, and it was delicious. The ambience was calm and relaxing. For our starter, we had the Southern Corn Fritters. The sauce was absolutely amazing. My main was the Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich- so good! We had a great time together and enjoyed the food!

The Reuben was absoloutley incredible. Me and my husband were visiting from Austin and we will definitely be back!

Food was absolutely delicious!! 😍 Would give it 10 stars if I could. Knowing everything is scratch made makes all the difference. The flavors and quality can’t be beat. We recommend the corn fritters with the honey habanero sauce. The heat is there, but tolerable and a great compliment to the corn. We had the green chile brisket quesadilla, spicy chicken sandwich, and the brisket sandwich. Everything was amazing. The house made fries and potato chips were such a delight. You must also try the ketchup!

This is our favorite place to eat in Waco and the place we take all out of town guests. The staff is warm, welcoming and courteous. The food is exceptional. There is a wide variety for all tastes and it is always fresh and cooked to perfection. We love the cabin atmosphere. It’s a breath of fresh air from the typical loud restaurant with blaring tvs. Be sure and make a reservation if you’re going so you won’t be disappointed! And if you go for lunch stay and walk around the shops!

What a delight! I'm very picky about chicken salad, & this was first-rate & delicious. Sweet potato fries were quite good too. My partner loved his key lime pie, & he's a pickier eater too. So happy to have family in the area, because we will be back with every family visit.

Overall excellent food. Had chicken fried steak and was the perfect size, not humongous. Sweet potato fries were fresh and tasty. Corn fritters are a must because the sauce is awesome!

If you want a home cooked meal this is the place to go. Service was amazing, food was amazing. Our waiter Matthew was great. If you are in Waco and want some comfort food, this is your place.

Everything from the appetizers to the dessert's was amazing! The homemade pumpernickel bread was irresistible. I highly recommend!! The smashed potatoes were unique and delightful!! Our waitress was very attentive and did a fabulous job! We will be back. Thank you for the great experience.

Walking into the Cafe you can tell it will be a special experience. I immediately wondered if the prices were going to be high. But I'm not sure you could find a better value anywhere else in Texas! The choice of food is good, the quality it great, and the flavor is simply fantastic. Everything was better than expected. The most important of all is the service. Not only did the young lady serve us well, she was friendly, helpful and made us feel truly welcome. It was like visiting family. We highly recommend Cafe Homestead.

Had veggies sandwich with micro greens and avocado. It was accompanied by fresh blueberries, strawberries and delicious pineapple.

At first they sit 13 in a 10 person Booth. I thought this is going to be terrible. The neighbors left the table I told Mathew our waiter to give us the table to be comfortable he agreed. He saved the day my hero. Food was great.

We stopped here to eat based on recommendations from the locals who work here, and so glad we did. We had 4 different meals and they were all great. Favorites: The Quesadilla burger was unique and delicious. The corn fritters were the best I have ever had - they were so fresh and tasty! Peach cobbler dessert was awesome. The place is pricey but the food and atmosphere is great!

Had a wonderful experience. Really enjoyed my salad. I love salads and the Brazos Valley Salad was on of my favorites. I did not get an updated menu photo, but noticed pricing has gone up. It is now 22 or 23 dollars and comes with a roll. This large salad was enough for dinner a and a second meal at home. My husband got chicken fried chicken ans smashed potatoes and it was delicious. Portion was ok but as a large man, he could have eaten more. There was also yummy homeade pumpernickel bread. This was our second visit and this meal was just as enjoyable and probably even better than the first. Our entrees were more favorable to us.

Absolutely the the best restaurant, story, decor, and food in Waco! The brisket quesadilla and Asada tacos were incredible. The verde sauce alone is worth the trip. We loved it.

Loved everything we ordered! We got the chicken fried chicken, chicken salad sandwich, and bbq brisket sandwich. We were already stuffed but had to order the key lime pie! It was #tdf!!! It tasted so fresh, just the right amount of sweetness and tartness. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back and check out the activities!! Make sure to make a reservation, if possible!

Had bar b que sandwich which was one of worst sandwiches i have ever had. The bar b que was cut up in tiny pieces with VERY little flavor and Cole slaw was so wet the very thin sliced bread fell completely apart. Picking up the sandwich it fell apart back on the plate. Had to ask for tea refill on a 100 degree temp day. When got refill had to ask for lemon. Will try to visit one more time to see if something else is better. The restaurant remodel is very pretty but all for naught if food and service are not better on next visit.

Very disappointing. Regular Cheeseburger meat was thinner than kid's burger @ any fast food restaurant. Brisket on sandwich was hard cubes of dry tough overcooked something. Only thing on higher scale was the price. Service was neglectful.

The food and service were great! The only thing that wasn’t amazing was the fact that there were flies. Everything else was great.

Make sure you make reservations ahead of time as they are very busy but the food is totally worth it. The chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes was delicious!

This place is amazing! I knew it would be high quality because everything around here is, but WOW! All the food was insanely good, and I was blown away by the smashed fries, I can’t believe those aren’t a world wide staple, this is my first time hearing about them and I’m hooked! Definitely a place to stop by every time we travel through Waco!

Beautiful resteraunt and the food was amazing. I had the quesadilla burger and my husband the brisket tacos, both were so tasty. Smashed fries were so crispy and good too. Our server Brandon was very friendly and courteous.

A beautiful restaurant with lots of seating and great natural lighting. Servers are all very nice! Ordered the quesadilla burger and the sweet potato fries and both were delicious. They have a cute little shop at the front of the restaurant for gifts and souvenirs. Fun to walk around the restaurant to see the rest of the homestead!

Incredible. Amazing atmosphere, the waiters and waitresses are top-notch. Great experience! Longer wait times and higher prices, but you go for the experience, not fast food! The food was delicious and tasted homemade. Highly recommend!

The teas were all amazing. None of them were too sweet even when they were a sweet tea. The southern cobb bites were amazing and had the perfect amount of flavors. The chicken fried steak was delectable and the same with the BBQ brisket sandwich.

Been here a bunch of times now!! The atmosphere, and service are unmatched. The waiters are extremely friendly, and perfectly mannered. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area! The whole craft village surrounding the cafe is a must visit!

All made from scratch café with delicious dessert too definitely a must when visiting Waco or just to get away to see the beautiful grounds and workmanship of the homes and buildings. Add this to your Waco ,Texas to do list!!!

Amazing!!! The restaurant is beyond gorgeous. The smash potatoes and their ranch, chef's kiss. I got the cheeseburger and my hubby the chicken fried steak and then we shared. Both were delicious. Unlike most places that do cf steak, this steak and breading was seasoned so well. Dessert is next!!! Come have some food and enjoy the craftsmanship all around you.
