When I tell you there's no better place to start your day than at CLM! I've had so many things from the menu. This time I manged to capture a photo because normally I'm too busy eating. Our server Toni, gets 5 starts on his own. He knows when to chat a little but keep it going. I don't live in PA anymore but this was my first stop from thr airport. Now headed to Highland Orchards!

2019: Great brunch spot, great coffee, great food and very warm customer service. Highly recommend! 2024: still so so good! Their coffee is great. Food is so delectable and flavorful - much more than many other brunch places. And still confirmed halal options. Still amazing customer service and might I add very attentive and accommodating. I wish for them to be in business forever.

I went here with my boyfriend for a cute little anniversary brunch and we definitely got way more than we bargained for! The atmosphere was so chill, comfortable, and relaxing. The food was flavorful and well made. We even received a complementary humus platter from the chef which tasted like the ingredients came from a fresh garden they had out back lol. The drinks we ordered were great too. I had an iced chai tea latte and my boyfriend had fresh squeezed pineapple-mango juice, which I almost finished myself. We went on a Monday afternoon so it wasn’t busy or crowded, but the volume started to pick as we were leaving, so we seemed to have perfect timing!

My second time here and the food is amazing!!! But what really was above and beyond was the kindness of the owner and all the employees … we went with three moms and babies and I have never felt more welcome and appreciated! I was quite disappointed in this place, although it had decent reviews. This place does not care about you as a customer; they care about the number of people they can get in and out. The fried cauliflower, which came out cold and soaked in oil, clearly represents that. If I’m getting old fried cauliflower, what else is given the same treatment in the kitchen? The seats are tight; you’re basically sitting shoulder to shoulder with other customers. A server is frequently serving others next to you, reaching over you, which makes it quite hard to even enjoy your meal. After finishing the bland “food,” our plates were immediately taken away, and the check was handed to us without asking if there was anything else we needed. It’s crazy to push people out when there were clearly other tables still available. I will not be going back and will not be recommending this place to anyone either. It’s not worth your money! But you’re more than welcome to try it; I will not stop you. You’re just a number to them. This place is the definition of when people say it’s all about the location. I think the spot is popular because of the neighborhood, but trust me, there are other places that are much better. Honey’s next door at least has good-tasting food. Alternatives are: Honey's Sit 'n Eat (right next door) Morning Glory Diner (South Philly) OWL Breakfast & Lunch (Broad & Cecil) Trust me, you won’t regret going to any of these places.

Came here after trying to go to Honey's down the street (we were not welcomed there AT all 🙄). Food was amazing. I got the classic Benedict with salmon - expected to eat half but accidentally hoovered the whole thing. Then my friend talked me into sharing the baklawa pancakes... Expected to eat half but again, the whole thing disappeared. So curious! Anyway, delicious food, great service, and very nice outdoor seating. 10/10 would try again.

I visited this place yesterday because Google listed it as a top brunch spot, and I wanted to share my experience. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The interior was too loud, so I decided to sit outside, but there were too many flies. The staff wasn’t rude, but they also weren’t particularly professional. The food arrived quickly, which was surprising since it was almost closing time. I ordered the Petit Steak, but it didn’t match the positive reviews I had read. I also had the red velvet waffles; the top was good, but the bottom was too hard and the ladyfingers weren’t fresh. The price was reasonable considering the service and food. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or to have a memorable dining experience. The vibe was more like an old diner.

We asked for a table for 2 and were received with a ‘NO i don’t have a table inside’. We should have probably left at that point. We were happy to sit outside which we did pretty much immediately as it was available. The table was filthy, the silverware or my phone stuck to the table every time i put them down so I asked them to clean the table but he did such a poor job, I had to clean it myself and even when they saw me do it, they let me. Now I thought the food would make up for it. My the Mediterranean platter was just pathetic. The tomatoes, cucumbers, haloumi, and scrambled eggs were dried out. The hummus was tasteless. They poured out the unfinished water cups right next to us so it was just generally sloppy. Imagine how sloppy they are in the kitchen. Only the pita was good. The coffee was very good. The toilet was clean. Would I pay to eat here again? No.

Excellent food! Initially when I saw the price, especially for the green shakshuka, I was skeptical and was wondering if the price would be worth it. The answer was a definite yes, as every dish I have tried was on point, and my friends have said the same. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu, which was similar to chicken and waffles with some brown butter syrup to elevate the flavor. I would recommend having a bite of the waffles with the chicken, the turkey bacon (or ham), and the syrup altogether, as otherwise the waffles could be a bit dry. The green shakshuka was also very good, with a very strong tomatillo flavor that naturally enhanced the quality. The tahini sauce was also evident in elevating the flavor. Overall a very pleasant experience! We had to wait for quite a while, almost 30 minutes during Sunday lunch time, and it was very worth it. The worker was very good at intentionally remembering our faces and ensuring we were within proximity when it was close to our turn. We sat outdoors and there were quite a few flies, which didn't bother us, but I thought I might as well bring it up for people to know. It was not the restaurant's fault!

If you leave here hungry it's your own fault. Absolutely delicious, inspiring foods to tantalize your tastebuds. Very fresh and well plated entrees and salad combos served by friendly staff. We came right from airport with family member who was just delighted with Cafe La Maude's great menu selection of Lebanese inspired creations and excellent house coffee and latte, too. Selections included: Kale chopped salad, Mediterranean platter and Shawarma. We ate like royalty and had food to bring home. The only point was marinated beef was very strong with cinnamon that overpowered other spices. Otherwise, else was perfect. If I lived in Philly I'd dine here often as it's that good! Plus all the employees appear happy & cheerful which makes the entire restaurant an uplifting experience. Bravo Cafe La Maude! See you soon. The location is on 4th St which is narrow. Parking is a premium in this residential area. Be prepared to walk a block or so. Credit & cash accepted. Open 8am-4pm. No reservations taken. Uneven sidewalk on 4th. Although my food looked good, it was different and SUPER SWEET! (Pancakes, strawberry cream cheese, whipped cream, and some sweet yellow drizzle) Sugar overload! The textures threw me off as well. It was not nasty at all, just not what I was expecting. I'm a buttery pancake type of girl and butter was non existent. The juice and water was served with no ice at all. Who drinks warm juice?? If you go here, show up extra early or you will have to wait. The male waiter was really cool and attentive. I told him I was allergic to bananas and he asked if I was allergic or just didn't like them. Again, he was super cool. It was the follow-up female waitress who seemed to be rushing us and we barely touched our food. As my bff and I talked & ate, she kept reaching and rushing us. I honestly wanted to ask her if it was alright if we ate our food in peace. Atmosphere, whewwww! Very clean but talk about sensory overload. You have a crowded place, with all different conversations, along with music playing. You will barely hear your conversation. Your table will also be super close to the next party. If you extend your arm out, trust me, you will touch the next party over from you.

Went for my birthday, early morning on a Tuesday. Sat alone in the back for some peace and quiet, apparently they forgot about me because nobody came to serve me. Stood up and left after a while.

This review is really to remind myself of this experience and not waste my time in the future. I rarely disagree so hard with a rating like this, but this is why I need to write it down! Woke up early and was like: oh sht! We should finally try that place with the insane line. Without brushing teeth, we dashed out the door and made it before the rush (9:50am on an April Sunday). tl;dr — Lots of hype. The food was waaaay expensive ($20-$22 per brunch entree) for the quality and portion. Not at all on par with Philly standards: Middle Child, Front Street Cafe, Sofi’s Corner, Cafe Lift, honey’s sit n eat (next door), etc. all of these cheaper than La Maude. I got the huevos rancheros and my partner got the open face Mediterranean burrito. Both were so surprisingly weak in terms of presentation and taste. Huevos Rancheros - they separate out the components of the huevos so you’re eating each part in isolation (or you mix it yourself but the balance of ingredients is off anyway). It’s served on a 10 or 12 inch plate and you get 2 dollop of guacamole with home made Doritos, a room temp watery bean soup?, 4 triangles of brisket quesadilla, and a few slices of fries that propped up the sunny side eggs. All the components were different temperatures, ranging from slightly cold to a warm egg. Such a confusing dish. I felt like I was eating a bunch lunchable. The open faced burrito was poorly composed as well. All ingredients organized weirdly on the plate with a whole cup of pico de gallo on the side, then the warm components piled up: pita, beans, green rice, eggs and guacamole in that order. The balance was just wrong. (Very little beans, too much salsa). But it just looks like a mound on a plate. Like you got in line at a cafeteria and the lunch lady plopped them all on your plate. A bowl would have made a lot more sense, esp because one of the best parts of a burrito is having the flavors melt together. My partner was initially confused as the rice and guacamole looked the same. He thought he was about to eat a pound of guacamole. Even with the weirdness of the compositions, if the dishes were made with high quality ingredients or fresh baked pita, and interesting flavors, we’d give it some love. But it really felt like they went to Giant and just plopped things on a plate and charged us $22. Coffee was burnt (ordered black, then had to cut it with cream and sugar). Cappuccino was fine, on par with a typical coffee shop. Service was also rushed and a little rude. The guy visibly rolled his eyes when I asked him about the 3 different kinds of potato sides on the menu with all similar names. They clearly get a lot of volume and try to turn you over as fast as possible and are impatient. We were in and out in about 30 min even with eating slow. The food came out within 5 min of us ordering it. We still tipped well, we were still kind to the servers, especially one that presented as non-binary and was being joshed by the manager. Maybe it was an off day and I fully appreciate that people are working hard, but man, just a little effort in the food and patience with customers would go a long way, esp for those that are arriving before the rush.

Sorry to write a bad review but it is necessary. Went here for brunch after our daughter's college graduation. Host was rude after seating us. We said we would like to order a round of food, then see how much food it was, then order more if necessary. The host sternly advised we could not order again after ordering once, as he "had to turn the table over." Food was barely warm For a city like Philly with several outstanding dining spots, you can do better. This was the worst dining experience in our five years of visiting from out of state. Gets two stars because: food tasted fine, they did re-cook one of our dishes when we said it was lukewarm (thus making us wonder, why couldn't we order another round of food?!) and they let us BYOB.

After reading all good reviews i decided to try this place and TBH it’s not worth the hype. The food was average at best . You can come for the pictures but dont come for the food .

This is one of my favorite cafes in all of Philadelphia. The food has always been delicious. Most recently I was there for breakfast and had the shawarma, the green rice and pita were out of this world good.

This has to be my absolute favorite brunch spot in Philly. It’s first come first serve, but they usually do a pretty good job at seating you as fast as possible. The food is TO DIE FOR. Anything you get is so tasty.

Cafe La Maude in Philadelphia is a charming spot that blends French and Lebanese culinary traditions into a delightful brunch experience. With a 5-star rating, it’s praised for its flavorful and unique dishes, professional service, and the cozy ambiance that makes the wait worthwhile. The menu offers a mix of healthy options, and while the prices are a bit steep, the quality of the food is exceptional. It’s a place where you can enjoy a leisurely meal and feel the warmth of family history and culture in every bite.

The owner as definitely mastered the business aspect of monetizing well presented low cost carbs and minimizing high priced portions of meat optimized around $20 per meal. There is a true sense of creativity in an attempt to provide novel options from the red velvet pancakes to the shawarma platter. In many cases though it’s hard to see how some of the meals come into their own. The red velvet pancakes came with too much whipped cream muting the intrinsic flavor of the pancakes. The red shackshuka was very runny and the egg was uncooked in parts. These are nitpicks but it’s apparent the business is trying and the wonderful staff deserve some actionable feedback. Chai latte is also a must try!

Good food, service not bad. Wait times long on a weekday afternoon. Went inside to our table after a 40min wait to see a few empty tables inside.
