Riley did an outstanding job!!!

Such a lovely experience. It’s been a couple of years since we’ve enjoyed a dinner here. Did not disappoint! Started off with some tapas; Gambas Con Bacon (my favorite), Ojos De Buey (yummy, a bit sweet for me), Cole’s De Bruselas (my hubby’s fave honey glazed Brussel sprouts). We pre ordered the Paelle(meat). Never had it before, 4 of us split the 2-4 serving size. It was lovely. Then my husband and I split the pork chop special. Over the top special. Finished the evening off with coffee & the Bizcocho Borracho. Perfect combo sweet treat with coffee. Appreciated the superb service from start to finish. Delaney took excellent care of us with a genuine smile. Won’t wait so long to come back:)

Zachary was a phenomenal server. He was so informative of the specials. Very specific in his delivery of the specials which we loved. The service was amazing and that paella was to die for.

Excellent brunch. We had our food less than 10 minutes, it was beautiful and tasted so good! Poached eggs chef did perfectly, crispy bacon. French toast with fresh berries fresh whip cream. Seriously it couldn’t have been better. Diego was amazing! Thank you!

This was our first time at Cafe Madrid and we’re planning on definitely coming back! The food was amazing! Especially the octopus. Hanno was our server and he was excellent! He was very polite and kindly told us about all the specials :-) he worked speedily and kept us entertained. The whole staff was very pleasant! Maria and Katrina were also very kind and courteous :-)

We came as a big party and they serviced us very well. I kind of wasn’t prepared but this is definitely a fancy service restaurant with specials and a palette cleanser. Also pretty expensive but you don’t come to this kind of restaurant weekly. We just got paella for the table. We got 6 servings of meat and 2 seafood. Don’t do what we did… when they say two servings, ITS 4 SERVINGS. And I’m the kind of guy who’s afraid he won’t get full.

Amazing experience as always! Authentic Spanish cuisine. Croquetas de polllo is always delicious! You need to preorder the Paella, and it's so worth it!

Took my parents here last summer (August 2020). The food was pretty good and the place was nearly empty when we got there but we kept seeing people arrive, order, get their food, and leave before we even got our appetizer. We waited 50 minutes for the tortilla and 10-15 minutes later they brought our food, in the middle of us eating the appetizer. Overall, more than hour wait for what we oderded; I am not even kidding. Now, if you are short staffed and busy with to go oders, that is understandable. Please, just be curteous, apologize for the long wait, and maybe even offer something complimentary to make up for it. Don't pretend like nothing happened when we keep staring around forever. The gentleman who helped us (which I believe was some sort of manager) was very apathetic and just not very friendly at all, impatient and didn't make eye contact. Now when we were paying and leaving, he turned very friendly. It was also very disappointing to get a SUPER limited menu. That was not posted anywhere for people to know beforehand. So, like I said, the food was good, and I told my parents I'd order again to go, but not to dine in. Service was less than acceptable, in my opinion.

Absolutely wonderful meal and our server Riley was simply marvelous! He made great recommendations and was a brilliant server! When we come to SLC we will definitely be back.

Excellent service and delicious food

Riley did an excellent job with our wine recommendation and our food recommendations. He sold up and we enjoyed his recommendations more than our own choices. We will be back with all of our girl friends to enjoy his wine and tapas. He was friendly, handsome and kind. Best service. This is why we like coming and will keep coming back.

We drive by the Madrid a couple of times a week and always say we're going to stop and have dinner. This evening we finally did it! And we're a little disappointed we didn't do it years ago! This is one of the best restaurants in the valley! First and foremost, the wait staff is unbelievable. Zack, our waiter, did everything possible to make our experience memorable. The the food was unique and unbelievably delicious. We ordered the special, a double lamb chop with potatoes and asparagus, that actually melted in our mouths. We will be back--regularly!

Nico took great care of us. All of the food is always spectacular - get the lobster bisque! Cafe Madrid is one of our favorite places to go to whenever we are in the SLC area. The brief drive south is totally worth it.

We LOVE Cafe Madrid, immediately puts you in a good mood with fantastic food. The prices and portions are wonderful. Diego is our favorite, can't wait to come back!

The chef needed to render the fat off the $50 steak. The Patatas Bravas, Frittata and the meatballs were all excellent. I also recommend the Croquettes and lasagne. Our waiter Nico was excellent.

Riley is extremely friendly! The food was amazing. This is not about the food nor service, but it is about the disgusting carpet, rugs and tear out fabric on the booth. Almost walked away. Glad I didn’t. But I won’t come back until the carpet has been replaced

The service was incredible. Super nice and helpful. They have a dog friendly patio and they brought water out for him too. They are planning to add misters and make the area even better so I will be coming back to experience that. We got one tapa and a salad to share and it was so much food we took some home. Definitely worth the price and they even have tapa Tuesdays for cheaper apps and drinks. Glad I finally tried this place out and want to bring more people with me.

This was a nice getaway place in Utah. The lunch is different. The beef sandwich had a nice balsamic glaze on it. The breakfast sandwich was good! The chicken croquetes were tastey, and i'd recommend them with the cheese sauce. The rolls were very fresh and tasty. They didn't have papella available. If you want papella, you should order ahead!

Easily one of the best dining experiences I have had, especially in Salt Lake City. I went on a date here and it was a Friday night, we had a reservation and it was nice because everyone wanted to sit outside in the nice weather so we got all of the inside to ourselves which was really nice. This is an old home that was made into Cafe Madrid which is one of the only authentic Spanish restaurants that is around the area. There is another one I haven’t tried that’s called Mar-Muntaya I believe and that one is on the sixth floor of the Hyatt House hotel downtown. We got the “español omelette” not sure if that’s exactly what it was called but it’s a Spanish dish made out of potatoes, onion, and eggs. Really yummy. We also got bacon wrapped shrimp. If you want to get the authentic paella you have to order it an hour ahead of time. They do have a similar dish you can get it meat or seafood style so we opted for the seafood style dish and it was amazing. Wonderful dining experience and will for sure be back here. Really glad I got to finally dine at this wonderful restaurant!!

We have had lunch at Cafe Madrd several times. Yesterday the food was good but we had to hunt down the waitress to order, ask for bread and she brought one roll when there were 4 of us. Didn't come back to offer refills of water or beverages. As a former server I am a bit critical, but for the price of the meals and the ambiance and beauty of the restaurant you hope the service would be better.

This is a restaurant I have driven by hundreds of times and never stopped. Last night we were invited to a graduation party there. What a classy beautiful place. The wait staff was welcoming, friendly and efficient. We love Katrina. The food was tasty and felt like we had stepped in to Spain. Every course was delicious and well presented. Impressive in this day and age the our party stayed well over an hour past closing yet we never felt rushed. Thank you for that. I think I have rediscovered a new favorite place.

This was absolutely amazing! It's always nice to get out and try new restaurants from the fanciest to the more casual settings. Cafe Madrid did not disappoint. My bf has traveled to Spain and he loved it. We tried mostly tapas and had Sangria. The setting of the restaurant was very warm and Spanish folklore. They have outdoor patio seating but it was very kinda cold still. They also offer lunch & brunch menu. So we are definitely going to try those. Enjoy!

Everything was wonderful. I called last minute to make a reservation and the girl (Katrina?) was so kind. She was so sweet and nice. We were extremely well treated the entire time. The guy (Diego?) that took care of us was extremely professional and kind. I ordered a salad and main dish. It was delightful! I still want to come have the paella!

Café Madrid, bless their hearts. We just returned from dinner. The short review is that we probably won't go again, but if we did it would be for just the tapas. Upon entering we were met with the distinct smell of a Smith's seafood counter. The furniture was tired and arranged oddly. A hostess welcomed us warmly and readied our table quickly. Our booth had ragged pillows that I had to move to sit comfortably. The server suggested Pellegrino but we went with still water and raspberry lemonade. The water was tap water with a bit of an off flavor. The raspberry lemonade was icky, sickly sweet and tasted of discount flavoring. It obviously had no actual lemon or raspberry anything. They brought us some fabulous rolls and some low quality oil and vinegar. We ordered the special-filet mignon with lobster, the NY strip steak, some papa bravas, and some Brussels sprouts. The papas bravas and Brussels sprouts were divine. The NY strip steak was overcooked, gray and tough, which isn't surprising since it was only 1/2" thick. It came with some terrific chimichurri sauce. The filet was just fine, and the lobster could have been better. You could probably get better steak and lobster just about anywhere. The sides with the entrees were fine- perfectly cooked asparagus, boiled potatoes (they were supposed to be roasted?), bland mashed potatoes. The service was really great though. This is where they shone. It didn't really make up for the meh food. I feel bad because they are obviously struggling, but they are really cheaping out on basic ingredients and it's apparent. We wanted to like it more. The bill came to around $200. My suggestion: a pat of butter would be better than THAT oil and vinegar, don't pretend to serve drinks you don't offer and include more interesting options for non drinkers, get a better chef on the grill and provide them with better quality meat and seafood.

The tapas were good. The entrees were mediocre.

I have been here a few times now and the food has been great each time! My wife had the lamb and I had the beef tenderloin, both of which tasted great! If anyone is looking for a fancy date night, anniversary (like I did), or anything in-between, this would be a great choice!

We love coming here, The food brings back good memories of Spain. We order lots of tapas and then share a paella. The Spanish tortilla is one of our favorites.

We had Easter brunch at Cafe Madrid with my young granddaughters. The food was wonderful. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. Our Server, Katrina was Amazing. She went out of her way to make the meal special for my Granddaughters and my 90 year old Mother. We will always ask for her when we go back.

Reserved a table easily online. When I got there, got right in. Food was excellent. My waiters was great.

Found this restaurant completely by chance, and since our family spent several years in Spain, we really wanted to try it. It's a very attractive building and looks well cared for, inside and out. Our server, Zack, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. My father-in-law wanted the seafood paella, so I called to pre-order as suggested on their website and had no problems ordering except minimum order is for two (although at the restaurant I heard them tell another table that single servings were available - I would have preferred that, but I guess there was a misunderstanding. ) The hot roll with oil & vinegar was fresh and tasty, the calamari appetizer was excellent and cooked perfectly, and the sherbet palate cleanser was a pleasant surprise. However, we were not thrilled with the main courses. I thought the paella was somewhat bland. There was plenty of fish, shrimp, mussels and classic, but there wasn't much flavor. My wife found her New York strip (Filete de Ternera) to be tough and hard to eat, but the asparagus was perfection. It was an interesting experience, but I don't think we'll be back.

I’ve been to Cafe Madrid a number of times. I’ve never gotten entrees because I always go for the tapas. While the food is always delicious, it can get a bit pricey and while some tapas are good sized helpings, others are a little skimpy. With that said, if you want a nice evening, good food and nice ambiance, Cafe Madrid is the place.

This was my first time here. We went on a Friday without a reservation and they were very gracious in getting us a table. The atmosphere is overall cozy however as it is a smaller area it got very loud. I'm sure on a less busy night it's not as bad, but Friday night trying to have a conversation was extremely difficult. The food is good, for what you pay I would have liked to see more presentation out of it and a bit more flavor. Our waitress Delaney was however, absolutely phenomenal and took great care of us, she was a 10/10.
