I stumbled upon this hidden unique restaurant, and wow , starting from the greeting at the door up upon the seating at the bar. A phenomenal experience, Ana the bartender blew my mind. From alll the recommendations she gave I ended up letting her take the wheel , the old fashion drink to the food , an amazing experience, Ana makes the the experience like no one else , every recommendation she suggested I took. To top it off the divine apple tart that’s made in house just feels like a kiss from the gods and to pair it off with a nice Porto. An outstanding experience i definitely will bring my wife with me next time when she isn’t sick. Thank you Ana amazing experience definitely returning!!!

I recently dined at Cafe Ragazzi and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, with each dish showcasing authentic Italian flavors and fresh ingredients. The highlight was definitely the expertly prepared pasta and rich sauces. What truly elevated the experience was the excellent service. Omar, in particular, made me feel very comfortable and was exceptionally knowledgeable about pairing the wine with the food. His recommendations were spot-on and enhanced the meal significantly. Overall, Cafe Ragazzi offers a wonderful combination of tasty food and top-notch service, making it a great choice for a memorable dining experience.

It was my first time at the restaurant with my family. The food was Great, drinks were delicious, but the server Ana was excellent. Definitely THE restaurant to enjoy a good dinner, with a calm/clean atmosphere, and extravagant service by Ana. 10/10, definitely coming back.

Second time I come to Ragazzi and I am still fascinated. First class food. And Ana made me a Martini that was an alfajor in Martini. In love with my martini. I will definitely come back🍸

Jose the manager was so sweet. I appreciate you guys for taking care of us. Would recommend this restaurant. Chicken parm was to die for.

Good food reasonably prices with a great service and ambiance

The lady answering the phone is rude. Food is overpriced and unfortunately bland. Portions are big but what's the point if the quality is lacking in the food. I ordered the Lasagna, spaghetti Bolognese.

The truth is that there is nothing to complain or complain about, everything is perfect! The food was very good, the pizza for me is one of the best in Miami, I ordered the special Ham or something like that and 5/5, the spagetti bolognese also pretty good 4/5, not perfect but good, the bread With that mixture of tomato and garlic 4.5/5, very delicious, and the sangriq 4.5/5, it just lacked a little more alcohol, but very good! The attention was fast and friendly, from the moment we entered until the moment we left! And the place is small but cozy and comfortable. The prices are not that expensive, which makes it even better! Anyway I will return

Great place, atmosphere, menu, service, and food. Open Friday/Saturday evenings (Some restaurants in area observe Sabbath). Prices are average to high range. Wine is pricey.

There were very few tables of people the night we reserved, and the kitchen staff stood idly. Our well-meaning waiter reported the stuffed artichoke we’d ordered was unavailable, but that was only after he’d served the white wine we’d ordered to drink with the artichoke appetizer. Not tragic, so we moved on to the main course. I asked for salmon, and seeing that saffron risotto was on the menu accompanying a shrimp dish, requested the risotto instead of pasta to have with the salmon. He checked with the chef. Request denied. The kitchen staff continued to stand idly, arms crossed, staring out across the empty expanse of the dining area which became even emptier after we cancelled our orders and went elsewhere. (We had an entirely different experience last year and that’s why we came back, but never again.)

This is a legit Italian menu. Opened in 1994. Making it a staple in Surfside. Started with a martini. Got a wood fired grilled pizza. Moved to the ravioli and the lasagna. Classic bites. Classic spot. The menu has a lot of depth. Classic pastas. Carni lineup up is amazing and the Pesce looked solid. Writing this review before desert was even offered so good.

Happened into this place by accident a couple years ago and thought it was wonderful. Had to come back to relive memories made that we loved since husband’s cancer diagnosis/now in remission… Cafe Ragazzi’s did not disappoint! Such a great neighborhood find! Would def recommend! The service was impeccable, the food delicious.

Good atmosphere, reasonable prices and good Italian food. There aren't many places to eat well in Surfside at a reasonable price, and this is one of them.

Very bad service. The osobucco (greasy and awful) and the canneloni were disgusting. We told the waitress and they told us they can’t take it out of our check. They didn’t offer anything else to try to make us feel better. The quality of the food really went down! We are not coming back. Btw the place was completle empty. Only us and another table. This is a huge sign that there is something wrong.

Horrible experience! Nasty food, even more nasty service, just stay away, forget this place! The food was inedible. Three out of our party of 6 received unrecognizable veal and chicken. Burnt and black looking. Not one staff could care less. I literally walked out starving as there were no options offered to us. Seriously, you’d be better off at Dominoes pizza across the street.

Where do I start? I felt like I was in a training school. Service is untrained. Bread was almost frozen. Asked then to heat it up, still came back cold after half an hour. Plate empty and took forever to have it removed. Same with getting menu etc. Entered w another gentleman who asked for table of four. I was next to him and completely ignored. Women not on the radar, I noticed. Always late to be serviced w menu, plate removal etc then on top of everything else was overcharged on an item. I’ve dined there in the evenings with friends Totally different experience. There was one table who complained about everything. All the service and attention went to the “squeaky wheel”. Big mistake for them to disregard the other more patient and perhaps understanding customers. Today, I was doing errands and dropped in to remove myself from a what became a rainy afternoon. Instead of enjoying a pleasant time and meal, it turned out to be quite bad and even stressful.

Horrible service by the manager (apparently Italian!). We reserved as usual, for 7. We arrived on time, put us in a small table for 4!!!!!! With rough chairs from outside (because smaller). He said “if you are not happy you can go!” (We had small children so we couldn’t leave). Food was cold and we couldn’t eat all together because no space!!! Imagine we couldn’t open the menu at the same time! Never again!

Inedible burnt food. Three of six meals were sent back. Manager is a totally incompetent and ignorant idiot. Should not be allowed to be around people! Never apologized or offered alternatives. Stay away. Place is vile and food is disgusting.

Service was initially attentive. Atmosphere was good, but music was too loud, when I asked to lower it, it didn’t help. Food was not great. Pasta was overcooked and we had to return the carbonara. Then, it took a long time to get the check. I don’t think we’ll come back again. Disappointing..

Ya hemos concurrido en otros viajes a este lugar y nunca comimos mal. La comida es siempre excelente y la atención en estas dos ultimas oportunidades fue sobresaliente. En ambas oportunidades nos atendió Francesca, sumamente profesional y simpática. Atenta a todos los detalles. La melanzane y los calamaretis fritos son ricos y abundantes ( ojo son para compartir) como platos principales los spaghetti con camarones son buenísimos y el brancino con verduras es muy sabroso y abundante. Lo recomiendo enfáticamente. Ah, me olvidaba, los precios entre los más baratos de Miam( para este nivel de lugar y comida)

Service is absolutely fantastic, atmosphere is just perfect and they have ac 🤣. We weren’t hungry and just stopped for a drink. 🥃 which was of course good. Another couple said their pizza and dessert was yum! So we plan on coming for lunch soon.

Very friendly staff but unfortunately, nothing special about the place nor the food. Pastas are ok. Wine was disappointing, same as the chocolate mousse and the amalfitana salad did not look good at all.

It was such a nice atmosphere, but the food lacked flavor. The servers were very nice, but we were waiting a long while for our food with no updates. I think if they keep the customers updated it would serve better. The portion size was good but the presentation was not great.

My first time in Cafe Ragazzi, i ordered : Fried calamari/zucchini , it was cold, not flavor at all and the sauce that comes with the dish was cold and tasteless. Pasta carbonara, tasteless, uncooked pancetta, full of sauce and overcooked pasta. Pizza, not cook enough. The manager never check my table. Not refills for soda or ice tea were offered. The Dessert menu was presented and it was dirty. The service was great and welcoming, but the food was absolutely bad , im not coming back.

I am currently 8 months pregnant, I’ve ordered for pick up plenty of times & never had an issue with Poor quality food or service …. Until tonight . I ordered the chicken Alfredo the chicken was cooked perfectly , However the Alfredo sauce was made with SPOILED cream or cheese I instantly gagged . It was harsh , unpleasant to the taste , abrasive , disgusting, bitter & mordant . I called the restaurant to tell them the disturbing news so that it can be corrected . The manager I spoke to was rude & unhelpful… he explained that he would check the quality of the cream or cheese then changed the subject after he said he didn’t receive any complaints tonight . He also insisted that everything is “Cooked freshly” per order & told me to complain to Uber eats , & hung up on me .Safe to say I won’t be ordering from here anymore .

El Manager es un Grosero Pedimos con gentileza que bajaran el aire de los abanico y un mesero muy gentil pregunto cómo hacerlo, el mismo manager lo autorizó , se apagó al llegar nuestra comida el manager vino y dijo acá no se apaga los abanicos está no es tu casa 🏡dirigiéndose a mi persona y mi esposo . MaL educado el manager , le explique nunca tocamos el abanico Estamos recibiendo la entrada que otro mesero muy cortes trajo a la mesa quien tocó el abanico fue el mesero por darnos una mejor ambiente y seguramente se apagó … el manager le gritó al mesero y lo humilló en todo el restaurante !! Estamos en Estados Unidos donde un Manager puede ser un líder, una herramienta positiva no un maltratador …. Porfavor despidan a ese hombre sin modales, ni calidad humana ! El mesero un grande lamento lo que sucedió no mereces un jefe así Decide y busca otro lugar Miami tiene variedad de restaurantes y grandes manager que generan Desarrolo personal y profesional !

Excelente lugar! Fuimos para mi cumpleaños llegamos un poco tarde y nos recibieron! Sacaron todo super rápido y con excelente calidad. Me impresiono. El gerente super atento nos hizo sentir en casa! Los meseros igual super atentos. No conocía el lugar sin duda regreso y recomiendo. Una carta de vinos espectacular.

Primera y última vez!! Bueno, no llegó a ser la primera vez...! Apenas pude saborear la sopa del dia. El gerente del lugar si asi se le puede llamar, super irrespetuoso con mi esposa y conmigo. Esto solo por pedirle amablemente poner los ventiladores despacio. Señor gerente "Si, esta usted en lo correcto "no es mi casa" por eso me fui y no vuelvo más. Ademas de no recomendar este lugar a nadie. Ni aunque me paguen voy. Un fiasco total.

Great Italian Family place! Love the food...

We were able to get a table for the same night, and as soon as we arrived our table was ready. The restaurant was crowded, but the service was quite good. The staff was receptive, right on, always smiling, and the food was quite good, although the portion size is too much, as none of us were able to finish our dishes. The taste was great, but I do think dishes were big enough for 2. It gets a bit loud, but everything else was right on. We loved the tiramisu and the pears, along with the brownie flan, the burrata, and carpaccios were great. The onion pizza as well the margarita were out of this world.

Disappointed When this restaurant open many year ago, the food was very good. Yesterday came back and it was more quantitative than quality of the food. Did not like it at all.

Should have left as soon we were greeted. Maitre’d and waitress very rude and had attitudes. Guess you have to be from Argentina to get good service here. Service and food just terrible. If I could give zero stars I would. Won’t be returning.

My sole purpose for leaving a 1-Star review is simple; THE SERVICE. First of all, I usually only leave positive reviews if the restaurant was extraordinary in some way. So for me to post a negative review should say a lot. From the moment I walked in on the evening of May 19th, there was undeniable tension. After taking a closer look at the other patrons in the restaurant, it became clear to me why I was getting so many glares & down right mean looks = THE COLOR OF MY SKIN! Again, I am not a dramatic person, nor do I care for petty negative reviews but I cant let this experience go without documentation. Tato, the manager, made sure to greet & conversate with every other customer in the restaurant except me. He walked by my table twice before even acknowledging me with a "You good"? and quickly kept it moving to other patrons who looked more like him. The best part is two of the servers in the restaurant were darker skinned as well but I guess they get a pass because of the language they speak? When I confronted the servers they played it off as if I was delusional (Tato never came to resolve the issue in case you're wondering). I travel often and encounter all kinds of people but I have never felt such disdain in a place of business, especially in my own home town of Miami! On a positive note- the food was very good, fresh & high quality. With so many great places to eat in Miami Beach, I think I'll find a friendlier place to spend my money.

I was in the mood for Italian food and we decided to go to the Café Ragazzi. I ordered a simple risotto, but I wasn't prepared for how wonderful it was going to be! The risotto was so creamy and had a lot of flavor. The Osso bucco was cooked just right, and the sauce on top was perfect. We ended up staying at this restaurant for hours. Delicious food and great service!

Los platos son muy abundantes (recomiendo compartir). En mi experiencia, la atención del personal fue bastante distante y poco servicial. La comida llegó bastante rápido a la mesa y los productos son frescos. Éramos 5 personas y solo 2 de los platos pedidos cumplió las expectativas. Los precios son bastante standard en relación a un restaurante de categoría media.

Visited Café Ragazzi for the first time on Monday for dinner. I called prior visiting to make reservations and the tone of the host who picked up the phone was not friendly. When we arrived there was a server/helper standing in front of the main entrance and did not greet us nor acknowledge us. The food wasn’t all that great especially for the price. Overall, would not come back.

We have lived in Bal Harbour for three years now and have been coming to this resto 2-3 times a month (Do the math). We have never complained about anything. Tonight the Tiramisu was awful. My mother ate it, she is 80 years old. She is the only one who could stomach it. After she ate it she said, "That was really bad, I should say something." I told her to go ahead. She did and was ignored. When I refused that she be ignored the manager came and screamed at my mom for complaining after eating the dessert. Again, my mother is 80 years old. She had to tell him not to raise his voice at her. Unacceptable. It's no wonder his crew seems always on edge, with a manger like that. We are never going back. ALSO, TIPS ARE INCLUDED IN THE BILL, VERY SMALL NEXT TO THE TAX.

We have eaten in many good restaurants and this was one of the best. Our only criticism is that the portions were so large we couldn't do them justice. That's our problem, not theirs. It worked out well, though. We had a refrigerator in our hotel room!

Hadn’t been here since my last visit to south Florida in 2019. Not the same anymore. Not saying the food was bad but not what it was in 2019. I used to love the meatballs appetizer and it changed. My mother ordered a Black Sea Bass and they brought her Branzino and insisted it was sea bass. Food was sub-par. Hopefully they make a change to the hat it used to be……… we will see

Après avoir vainement tenté de fêter la st Patrick au Flannigan à côté nous nous sommes rabattus sur le ragazzi. Très longue attente mais le patron qui se la joue très rital a été efficace malgré tout. Le cadre est sommaire mais les plats bons et très copieux. Je recommande le poulet sauce au citron agrémenté de câpres.

I've been living in Surfside for the past 18 years and going to Cafe Ragazzi since then, but lately noticed a decline in quality of food and an absurd lack of service since COVID hit. Food and service used to be top 10, but now it is almost like they are doing you a favor for dining there. Waiters are pushy on drinks, disappear after taking your order, and are pretty rude in trying to get you out as fast as possible. Last year had a big argument with one of their managers who didn't want to honor their own gift card ! On top of it, they automatically include a 18% service charge, which you cannot take out of your check. I noticed that most of the customers around were tourists, probably referred by the 94th St. hotel concierge. Big mistake trying to go one more time last night... There are a couple good italian choices in the area and this was my last visit. Addio Ragazzi... never again !

Tenia quizás unos 15-20 años sin visitar este restaurant. La verdad es que ha bajado mucho la calidad en comparación con la que tenía bajo la gestión de su antiguo dueño, Beto. Las entradas y principales estuvieron buenas sin llegar a ser extraordinarias. El postre hubo que devolverlo apenas llegó, un tiramisu con muy mal aspecto. El servicio fue bueno. En ese sentido no hay quejas. Lo que si se vuelve bien pesado es el ambiente del local el cual está decorado con puras fotos y videos del actual dueño de forma totalmente egocéntrica. Nada elegante.

Pizza Paradise! Or should I say an authentic taste of Italian cuisine. Fluffy bread and melting butter and the best cheesy pizza which has zesty garlic and herbs sprinkled atop heaven. Yes, the pizza is heaven.

Disappointed! We were really looking forward to a genuine authentic Italian dinner, although Calamari starter was ok it needed more seasoning and didn’t need the added pieces of paper from the doilie stuck to it. Main course , both from specials menu arrived straight away (too quickly) and tasted processed not fresh prepared, and presentation was not good. Will not be returning!

terrible are sever was vaping inside of the restaurant and stared at us everyone in that place stares at you eating and felt very uncomfortable and other workers were vaping as well inside the restaurant and the severs would stare so hard at you that it made me feel so uncomfortable I wanted to walk out

We’ve been coming to Ragazzi’s for a few decades, the last few times really weren’t great experiences but we chalked it up to Covid. Tonight the experience was relatively bad, food wasn’t good and service was very lackluster. Sad to say that this will be our last time to Ragazzi’s. There’s so many other great places in Miami to spend time and money at. Hopefully management will get their act together one day.

This place is so good! Tato! The manager of the restaurant have a wonderfull wine list! There are a lot of good Italian wines and also some things from arround the world! Here I share a couple of pictures with some catena wines he have!

We were seated but the staff was a little slow getting us a menu and water. Once we got our food we were loving it. The couple next to us suggested a half portion, so my husband and I split our dinner. Salad, Pasta and wine. It all tasted so good.
