Amazing food and service. The lemon caper chicken and carpaccio di manzo was great! Nice ambiance. The tiramisu was so authentic.

Delicious food, fabulous attentive service from Marcos, a warm and inviting atmosphere. A gem in Surfside.

Called to make reservations for my wifes birthday, left a message, and Marcos called me back confirmed reservations. Recomndations were great. Food was to die for. Homemade dessert as well. Service was great, and we were not rushed out, which was great to have a capuchino talking to friends enjoying the Special night out.

Like most people, we had fallen for the glamour of the nearby Bal Harbour shop restaurants, but on our last night we went off the beaten trail and found a highly Google rated Italian restaurant called Specchio. Coming from the NJ/NY/ Philly Italian food scene, we were pleasantly surprised by the food, the hospitality and the candor of the owners. We would highly recommend anyone looking for a real dining experience to check out Specchio.

This restaurant is what it feels like going to have family dinner with your Italian grandparents. The food was authentic and incredibly good. I had the ricotta spinach ravioli and my husband had the halibut, and both were fantastic. The ricotta cheesecake was amazing! Spend your time here with a family owned business and do not waste it on the commercial ventures at the mall…..

Specchio’s is some of the best food I’ve ever had. We love getting the whole Bronzino. Everything is authentic and so fresh. The staff treats us like family. I can’t recommend this place enough. If your in the area you MUST check out. You will not be sorry.

Very cozy place with amazing, family like personnel, food was really good, fresh seafood, super delicious, if you are into italian food you won’t regret it.

What a gem! Down the block from the St Regis. Food is fantastic. Service was great… thanks Marcos! Chef is the owner and a great guy. I started with soup of the day, carrot soup… The chef suggested adding cheese and a pepper infused oil at the table. Out of this world! Everything was delicious. At the end of our meal Marcos brought over a piece of ricotta cheesecake. Not your typical cheesecake. It was so light and fresh. We sat outside. Such a cute little area loaded with ambiance. We will make this out new go to stop in the area and eliminate the mayhem across the street at Bal Harbor restaurants.

My wife and I who are of Italian heritage were blown aware by the food and service. Marco and Mikela were fantastic and treated us like royalty on the last night of our honey moon by giving us a free desert.... We have now been back three times in two years and it just keeps getting better. We cannot recommend the Specchio Cafe enough. GO! You will not be disappointed!

Probably my 7th visit to this off the beaten path GEM of an Italian masterpiece! From the delicious bread, best olive oil, and marinated tomatoes you receive before you even order! I had the chicken w lemon tonight, but my favorite is the pasta w shrimp in a cream sauce that will let you never forget your meal there! Enjoy!

Poor atmosphere, average service, bad, food, and overpriced. I certainly do not recommend this restaurant, and cannot understand all the five star ratings!

My favorite Italian restaurant in Miami.

This place is not very good. I'm italian and unfortunately it was not up to par. Food wasn't very good. The ricotta cheesecake and the bread was good. Entree was not. The service was just ok. Def would not go back.

Specchio Cafe in lovely Surfside, Fl, is a fabulous way to spend a relaxing evening . Not only is the food excellent, fresh and cooked to perfection, but the service is thoughtful and well timed. I had been away for some time and was fearful that the restaurant hadn't made it thru the pandemic. I was grateful to find it better than before. In the midst of flashy, over-the-top eateries nearby, Specchio holds its respectful place with good food, excellent service and superior ambiance.

Ate here with some friends who were visiting. I had the Tortelloni ai Funghi Porcini. It was delicious. Other sags the lamb, pasta dishes and I believe a steak. All the food was great and if you want ice, the kind server brings fresh ice in cups so it doesn’t melt quickly. Looking forward to visiting again.

Excellent food and service! Marcos was the absolute best. Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and left full and happy!

We recently traveled to Italy and this dinning experience was on par with some of the best we have had but a lot closer to home. Great food and service and very reasonable in price.

We were in the area and just popped in. Staff were very welcoming. Nice menu. The salads were very nice. The pasta Ragu was delicious and very authentic. The portions were massive, and almost too much. it seems like being in the home of a very friendly and welcoming family. A lovey atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Very good food and price. Italian owner always there to make sure quality is always 100%. You can pick anything from the menu that is gonna be tasty for sure. They also have a good wine variety. Look for Marco for special service.

my mom and I had the most amazing time. This restaurant transported us to Italy with Italian speaking owner and patrons! Marcos was our waiter and Giovanni the owner went above and beyond. Starting with our bruschetta, the tomatoes were flavorful and the bread warm and homemade. Next was our primi and we had the ravioli which was also amazing. Secondi was the pollo and prosciutto which was PERFETTO! We finished with cappuccino and dessert I HIGHLY recommend the homemade ricotta cheesecake….if you love authentic Italian and good service- go here you won’t be let down- one bit!!

Delicious food, great service and fantastic ambience in a little, but comfortable spot in Surfside. You could be forgiven for believing that you had teleported to Italy because of how authentic the flavors were. And I couldn’t show the Ricotta cheesecake because we devoured it as soon as the very kind v and knowledgeable waiter moved his hand. Can’t wait to take more of no family there. Would recommend for a date night, family or just if you want a fantastic Italian dinner. Buonismo!

Wonderful Italian food and great service - truly worth visiting

Wow. Just wow. Amazing. I lived in Italy for 2 years and this is like sitting on the Mediterranean again. We made some passing joke about risotto, so the guy whipped up one for my wife AND gave her a double portion. Everyone was so cordial and made it a very fun experience.

We have been enjoying this Italian treasure for many years. The food is simply incredible and the Specchio team always makes us feel at home at their charming and cozy location on the main drag in Surfside. One tip - if you enjoy spicy, be sure to ask for the spicy olive oil for the fresh tomatoes, it is out of this world flavorful. Follow with a great pasta (or other) dish and enjoy with some wine. Heaven!

This restaurant is excellent! My husband had the lamb chops, which he said were delicious. My children had chicken picatta with spaghetti, and I had the fiochetti. Small balloons of pasta filled with gargonzola cheese and pear. Each bite was a sweet, cheesy pasta, it was absolutely amazing! We ended with three desserts: the tiramisu, cheesecake, and apple pie. I liked the tiramisu best! I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Miami.

The quaint vibes and personal service make this place feel very authentic. The food is no frills but it is excellent. Make sure to get the ricotta cheesecake for dessert!

Best Italian food I've ever had, and my grandmother is from Ischia. Another reviewer commented that they don't offer dessert, which isn't true. We had a delicious apple tart with ice cream, and there were several options to choose from. Would highly recommend if you live in the area but especially if you are in Surfside on vacation - best restaurant in that neighborhood/in walking distance of the hotels and condos, in my opinion.

Visited Specchio Cafe on my own on a Monday evening for dinner. Let me tell you! Wow! Great atmosphere and even better food! The owner and staff are wonderful people who care deeply about their clients. Wound up taking a group of 10 colleagues the very next Thursday and we all had a fantastic time and left with full stomachs and the memory of an experience that sets the benchmark for fine dining. Thank you to the staff at Specchio Cafe for making our group dinner an amazing experience!

Had very good experience at this little Italian restaurant. Food is excellent, would definitely recommend lamb chops and one of the specialty of the day because it’s always so tasty. To finish dinner must have ricotta cheesecake with late, it’s simply to die for.

This place has some of the best Italian I have eaten. The portions are large and well worth the price. I will definitely come back.

There are Italian restaurants and there are THE REAL Italian restaurants. We had dinner at Specchio Cafe @specchio_cafe here in surfside yesterday and couldnt help to be transported back to Italy. Its a very intimate space, with a very traditional menue in Italian translated in English 🥰 couldnt get more legit!. We had the Bresaola ai Carciofi e Parmigiano (sun dried cured beff, artichoke, parmesan cheese) to behing folowed by the Spaghetti Neri Sciue-Sciue (spaghetti made with black squid ink, shirmp, spicy tomate sause) for the Primi Piatti and the Bistecca alla Pizzaiola (Sirlon steak, tomate, capers with oregano and veggies) for the Secondi Piatti......it was delicious an now is part of our Local Restaurants must haves! 🍷we paired it with a Monte degli Angeli 2017 Barolo. Nice aromas of dried cherries, cranberries and spices this medium full bodies wine had its tannins under check making it very approachable even at this young age. IG @journeythruflavors

Great food and fantastic service. We had the Chicken Malsala and Penne ala funghi and we loved both. There was a special burrata and Parma and it was so flavorful. A great choice for Italian in Bal Harbor.

Wow! I have not left the restaurant yet and am writing this review. We each had a special, he the pesto pasta and I had the sea bass. The spinach portobello appetizer was amazing too. Giovanni was fabulous as was our server. We had such a great meal that we ordered desert. We ordered the apple tart and Giovanni had us try the ricotta cheesecake. The ricotta cheesecake was truly amazing. I am so happy with our meal and highly recommend Specchio. If we are back in Bal Harbour again (we are from GA) we will most definitely come here again. Given how many restaurants there are this is saying a lot. From the salad to the desert and even coffee, wonderful.

I haven’t even left the restaurant yet (I’m sitting here waiting for dessert) and I’m going to go ahead and give 5 stars. And I’d give 6 if I could. This is hands down the best pasta I’ve ever had.

Somos fans de Specchio Cafe desde hace mucho tiempo y cada vez que visitamos Miami lo visitamos varias veces. Todo es delicioso, gran variedad y opciones. Es una cocina elegante, refinada y con sabores exquisitos He llevado a buenos amigos, mis hijos, etc Siempre cierro mi "fiesta" gastronómica con LA TORTA DE RICOTA !!! Sublime.....

Das Essen war gut, aber wir haben 25 Minuten gewartet bis wir bestellen konnten. Außerdem habe ich ein blondes Haar im Essen gehabt, welches definitiv nicht von mir sein kann. Kein entgegen kommen, nichts. Nichtmal eine vernünftige Entschuldigung. Schade. Ansonsten waren der Chef und der Kellner nett und haben gute Empfehlungen ausgesprochen was den Wein und den Nachtisch angeht.. mehr als 3 Sterne ist es so aber nicht wert.

This place is delicious. We loved how fresh everything tasted. We happen to be one of the frist tables in for the night. I believe the owner sat us down right away. He got us started and than our server took over. This place is tiny but lovely! 100% loved the atmosphere, the service, and food.

The food was amazing from the appetizer to the dessert. Family friendly environment with an upscale type of feel! Was observed that each an every customer is treated like they are family! Staff is friendly and very interested in the person you are! I highly recommend Specchio for the food and atmosphere!!

Very nice night w wife. Here excellent amarone and if one criticism, wine list was not deep. Fiochetti w pear was a really nice pair w a salty prosciutto n burrata salad. Complimentary bruschetta was fantastic and of course the fruity evoo w a slight bitter end brought it all together.

Authentic Italian. Imagine your Italian Grandmother's home cooked just for you. It's that good. Of course, I might not be Italian but I do appreciate quality. I had a Cesar Salad and Linguini Specchio and a little wine. Grandma would be proud and so will you.

This nice little Italian restaurant was a great find with great food. I went on a Saturday night and the place was not that full. We got seated down quickly and we were always attended to. We got bread to start off just like you would get in an authentic Italian restaurant. For my main I got the gnocchi which was delicious. It had a plentiful of flavors which complemented well together. The service was good and the ambient was pleasant. The only downside was that they did not offer dessert. Overall 9/10

Excellent pasta and service! My husband and I walked to this restaurant from our hotel at the st Regis and we weren’t disappointed! We dined early at around 5:30 and the restaurant was still very quiet before their dinner time rush. Our waiter was very attentive and personable and the food was awesome. We shared the portobello mushroom app, the bolognese, and the Lemon chicken with capers. Everything was delicious and we would highly recommend!
