One of my favorite vegan spots in the Atlanta area.

First off .. go try it and get your entire life! I love calavaritas.. been loving them since they were in a tent at the food truck park on Howell mill.. to the pop up window to the food truck and now to their restaurant… super proud of them.. one things for sure no matter where they are they have remained consistent.. I love you guys! Keep keeping it authentic!

Damn. I just love this place. I may or may not have been here an average of once a week this past month… Affordable, authentic, vegan Mexican food? Going vegan a few years back, I wasn’t expecting to have such good food options. Every time I’ve come, the food has been stellar, the atmosphere has been great, and I’ve even run into some vegan influencers. Shout out to y’all for building this from the ground up. Also shoutout to Sergey. Always coming through with the best customer service 👌🏿

Calaveritas is a standout vegan Mexican spot that excels at keeping their food traditional and plant-based. The flavors are so good that I'd pick their food over traditional meat options any day. The Mission Burrito is a great choice—it's filling and packed with generous toppings. Their tacos are also noteworthy, with flavors that are reminiscent to street tacos I had back in Mexico. For excellent vegan Mexican food, Calaveritas is a must-try.

Wanted to try as we’re on a health kick. While the tacos you can’t tell exactly which are which(except the chorizo con papa cause of course it had papas) but they are a really good flavor and a great alternative to real thing. Quesadilla was a 10/10. Tacos definitely a solid 8. They’ve really got the #1 spot in the game! Making Mexican food vegan for us that have health issues/just trying to be healthier overall. Will definitely be back as soon as I can! Staff was very friendly and patient which makes all the difference also!

Love, love, LOVE this place. Food is delicious, so many different protein options, and oh my gosh the aguas frescas are something I have to get every time I go. I love being able to support a small business with a good mission. The people are all amazing there is has become one of my favorite spots to grab a quick bite or to hang out with friends. They have a great set up outside, and if it’s raining it’s easy to grab and go. Vegan and non vegan approved!

I would just leave my children here and trust they would be okay because the food is so good

If you are ever in Atlanta, this is the spot for delicious vegan mexican food. Sergey at the front let me know what kind of food was his preference and he did not disappoint. I had the burrito with the carne and the taco trio. All these came with delicious sauces. My favorite is the Mango habenero sauce. I guarantee you all will not be disappointed in the food and sauce. You must try the aguas frescas and the seamoss lemonade. Shout out to Sergey again for his hospitality and recommendations. Definitely will be back.

Even if you’re not vegan, this is some of the best food in atlanta. It’s the best vegan food in atlanta by far. My favorite is the birria tacos and horchata. All of the food is awesome my bf gets the burrito. Queso goes crazy too. Theyre great people making great food.

I ate at quite a few vegan establishments while visiting Atlanta, and this place was the best I had. The freshness and the flavors of these tacos were out of this world. I also got a burrito. It was massive and it was equally as good as the tacos. Incredible food! It's a must try if you are in the area.

I’m been following their journey since Mayra would sell vegan tamales from her home & it’s amazing to see how much calaveritas has grown! This is THE BEST SPOT! The most AUTHENTIC vegan Mexican food !! All the team is very friendly and they have a passion for what they do! The food is soo flavorful, delicious and made with love! Highly recommend!

Absolutely the BEST vegetarian food in ATL! Large portions, authentic and outstanding taste, and very fair pricing. I got a burrito and it was huge and came with 3 sauces. There is no inside seating, but there are 2 covered picnic tables and 2 or 3 covered couples tables outside. The man at the window was cool, very nice, and helpful. It's a long drive for me, but I will be back... often!

We always love a restaurant where we can order anything off the menu and know it’s vegan. But this place super-exceeded our expectations. I ordered the street taco platter with three different proteins and they were all superb. My favorite was the asada. It reminded me of the carne asada burritos I used to have in San Diego when I was younger and wasn’t vegan. We will stop by here whenever we can.

I’ve been to almost every vegan spot in Atlanta and this place blows me away. The service is fantastic and the food is incredible. My favorite vegan food in Atlanta by far and I eat here practically every day. Even my non-vegan friends love it. My favorites are the Al Pastor and Chorizo tacos and the burrito is incredible! Go check it out!

Those nachos truly reminded me of my childhood because when I was little I would go to a specific Mexican restaurant and get their nachos. I’m vegan now so I don’t eat those now but I been craving them for years, and these nachos really made reminded me of them in literally every aspect. The food was amazing 10/10 and will definitely be ordering again. Happy and proud to be supporting a small Mexican and vegan business!!! Keep on the great work!!🇲🇽🌱🤍

I LOVE this place. As a vegan, not every place really does amazing vegan food that I can’t make at home. This is one of the only places I’ve been to that makes food super good that I can’t make for myself at home. P.S. get the queso. You’ll thank me later.

If you're a serious vegan then this is the place for you... This place has some of the best vegan food in the world. I'm from Alabama and we don't have any places like this so I have to come to Atlanta for good vegan options. Food was delicious, customer service was great, and the staff is cool.

Amazing plant based meat alternatives. Jackfruit Birria tacos were delicious, so was the asada quesadilla. I liked that there was flavor with not too much spice. Spicy sauces come with your order to spice it up. Refried beans were excellent. Better than average. This is a walk up window only and I have only ordered delivery so I can’t speak to the service or atmosphere.

The Calaveritas team is wonderful. I’ve enjoyed following them around Atlanta and watching them grow. I bring everyone I know here and they all agree the food is so delicious! Calaveritas is tucked away in the corner of the PREP food junction. They have created a great vibe with the purple paint, music, and picnic tables. Just follow all of the other cars and you will find them!

i have visited twice. the best thing is the variety of choices for vegan options including 5 protein choices. Gotta admit, the prices were higher than expected for a place with a few outdoor picnic tables but no shade and no fans or ambiance and no free water (unless you bring your own bottle). i recommend to go. Also go with the tacos - the nachos were a soggy mess.

This place is amazing! As someone who grew up vegetarian/vegan, when most places attempt vegan items, it can be disappointing since I know what really good vegetarian/vegan food is and restaurants are simply trying to serve the same food you find in the freezer aisles in Kroger. NOT THIS place…. Far surpasses expectations. The food is so amazing. I’ve tried all their taco types, the queso (to die for), their beans (the flavor is so well developed) and their oatmeal sandwich (🤤 you’d never know it was vegan). My meat eating boyfriend even loves it. Usually, he will ask for meat after eating a vegetarian meal but this place he’ll eat with NO complaints! 🥹 The next best part? The service is just as amazing as the food!

I always visited Calaveritas at the old food truck park, brewery pop ups or any vegan food festival… they were always easy to find because they had the longest line. I’m so happy they finally opened their own location and I’m happy to see the lines of calaveritas fans are still there. I will definitely be back to this location and highly recommend it

My favorite way to treat myself is to scoop up the birria taco platter here 🔥 staff is super kind and friendly, food always comes out quick and fresh. Even the non-vegans I bring here love it.

I spent $16 on three small tacos. They were delicious! If they added rice to this dish then it would be worth buying again.

Food is very fresh, and if you want to avoid the lines, you can order your food online and they text you when it is ready for you to pick it up. The staff is very friendly and on nice days, you can sit out on their patio. There is however, no indoor seating.

I ordered the 3 birria tacos, chips and jalapeño queso, and a blueberry lemonade Aguas Fresca. EVERYTHING WAS SO BOMB!!! The queso was liquid gold, the jackfruit birria tacos were well seasoned, and the aguas fresca was very refreshing!!!👏🏽😁 I only wish that I would have gone with others, so that I could have tried more options!❤️ OH NOOOO… I guess I’ll have to go back. 👀 😂 The fact that they have a loyalty program, just seals the deal for me going back!!! Highly recommend! I spent $27(which included tax), then Tipped. Please tip them! We want them to stick around!!! I went back for Loaded nachos.👀😅

When you walk up to the window you are greeted with great customer service. The guy at the window has a great attitude and very welcoming. He will patiently answer questions you have about the menu but still kept the line moving. The food quality is delicious. You wouldn’t know it’s vegan. The quantity of food is great. I like that when you order to-go nachos they allow you to get your chips on the side so your nachos are not soggy when you arrive home. Once home you can spread all that goodness over your chips and enjoy your food! Go give them a try!

i usually get the tacos, but the nachos are choice if you’re really hungry. On top of regular drinks they now have irish sea moss drinks. A good pairing to wash the food down.

Went really wanting to try some vegan tacos. Waiting in a small line, nothing crazy, with menus available for customers to read while in line. I was ready to order but first asked if there were any “meat” options that did not have onion as I have a smell aversion to it. They let me know that onion is included in all the meats as either cut onion or powder. I decided to try the meat with the powdered onion option and asked for only cilantro on top. They let me know this was not possible and they mix it all in together. I asked if they could cut some cilantro on the side and they also said no. This is the part that really bothered me. The cashier decided to say that “you know, in Mexico, all meats come with onion.” No dude, they do not. I’m Mexican. I’m from Los Angeles. I know Mexican food. Onion is an option and never a requirement. Restaurants offer cilantro only. And don’t be condescending. I was willing to try some of the meat I just also wanted an option to garnish with cilantro and you can’t even offer that. Friend ended up just getting nachos for themselves. That picture is included in the review. Their location is also just a door you order from. They have benches you can sit and eat at but that’s it.

My eldest daughter and I shared nachos and Al Pastor birria tacos! 🌮 The food was Amazing!! Sergey was so friendly and helpful with advising which flavor of birria to try for our first visit. I am looking forward to returning when I'm in the area again. 😋

It was pure destiny that this place was mentioned to me. I had been craving birtia tacos for months. Even bought the chilis & the Jackfruit to make them myself. But I haven't felt motivated.. as a chef myself, I am very picky when it comes to food, and this knocked me off of my feet. Unbelievable! 10 out of 10 highly recommend. I got the birria tacos and a carnitas burrito. I would get both again, and I will be going back multiple times a week.. They have a cute little seating area outside for you to enjoy your tacos.. more than one table, and they give you music to vibe to. And the horchata was amazing.!! What a gem!!! I'm a fan!!

Im not vegan. That being said: Fantastic food! Great atmosphere. The service was awesome too. Friday night dinner, and there was a comfortable crowd. Very comfortable vibe while eating. I recommend the SF Mission Street burrito. One of the best burritos I’ve ever had. A mixture of the rice, beans, the salsa, in a huge flour tortilla. This thing is a monster! I would come here every day if it was in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, I was just passing through. Got to meet the owners/chefs. Very friendly, and you can tell they really care about the restaurant and the people they serve. Five stars across-the-board!

I appreciate the consistently excellent service at Calavertias. I know I can rely on Calaveritas for high-quality vegan food. The last time I visited and ordered the quesadilla, I was not disappointed. The cheese melts perfectly, which I often miss in other vegan restaurants. Most importantly, they always ensure top-tier service, which is what keeps me coming back as a regular customer. Keep up the great work!

We had: 5 Pack Street Tacos ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Al Pastor, Asada, Carnitas These were all so dang good, but our favorite was the Carnitas. Burrito Bowl ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ The toppings were piled on this beauty, so much so bestie took half of it home!! Chips & Queso ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Seamoss drinks ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Amazingly the prices here was great, the customer service 5🌟, and the outdoor seating with music was a little vibe in this warmer weather. I cannot stress how delicious this food is. My partner and I have become regulars because we can’t manage to stay away for more than a week! I love being able to support a local vegan business and can’t wait to follow along as they grow!

I love this place great food and friendly service. I have never had vegan food in my life because of mentally not trusting how it would taste. Since the first day I tried their food (not knowing it wasn’t meat) I have order food from here everyday and hope to be able to come here in the future.

My plate is empty so obviously the food is great! My only complaint is more rice and beans please. Lol I got half a cup of rice with my taco order. I’m a growing girl. I need more 😂😂😂 also the sauce is SPICY. No complaints but is not for the weak.

This was my first meal to kick off my plant based journey and my taste buds are jumping for joy. You do not have to be a vegan to enjoy a flavorful meal from Calaveritas. The meat will not be missed. Enjoy

This is definitely the best vegan Mexican food I’ve had. I love it and I wish they were a little bit closer to the lithonia/Conyers area. I got their burrito and it came with crema and some other spicy sauces that blended really well together. I’ll def be going back try more food and their drinks.

My wife chose this place for us. It's in an industrial/business park. We arrived at opening (5:00 PM). We placed our order with the guy at the window who was super nice asking how we heard about the place. He gave us suggestions, and just was great. We got our food about 10 minutes later. I'm not sure how everyone hasn't heard about this place. The food was fresh, and SIMPLY AMAZING. My wife's order was great, my burrito was the best I've ever had. The sauces had some kick with the spices, but that's a plus. I'll be back.

My favorite! I have been patronizing Calaveritas since they had a tent selling tamales. They have since expanded their menu. My favorites (I have more than one favorite) here are the burritos, the Birria tacos, the quesadillas, and the burrito bowls. You can tell they prepare their food with love. Definitely go try them out!

Been here many times now and have never been disappointed! Though I do miss their old refried beans. Everyone working here is so friendly and good at what they do. Some of my favorite dishes to get are the loaded nachos and the quesadillas! I love the carnitas protein option. Absolutely worth coming to!

Genuinely the best vegan tacos anywhere around the metro Atlanta area, the service is always great and the food is always point I genuinely haven’t been disappointed nor dissatisfied one time from the first time I went I’ve been catching myself become a weekly regular there, if you want good vegan Mexican street style food this is the place to go

This place 100% is worth the hype. I'm surprised they don't sell out in 5 minutes every night. The service is fantastic. The food is always fresh and delicious, and I think the price is more than fair. I wish I could come here every night!

We drove a bit over an hour for this spot and it was most definitely worth it. Dude at the front with a beard needs a raise because he had some of the best customer service I’ve ever received. Everybody in the back needs a raise because that food was too good

Food was so good. There are a few outdoor tables, which was great because I live like 30 minutes away and wanted to try all of my stuff while it was hot. I ordered the birria tacos and the quesadilla platter with the mushroom protein. The little sauces are so much fun to try. Can't wait to go back. The team member who took our order was super nice and friendly. Food came out quickly. The b e a n s, I can't even.

Totally 5 Stars!! My boyfriend loves Mexican food and was looking for a great complete vegan Mexican place and here it is! Their foods are very original, taste great and very satisfying, we didn’t even feel like we were eating all plant based, which means their sauce and season are very very tasty! We tried Taco Trio with Al Pastor, and Nachos with Chorizo, and cheeezy sauce made from Sun Flower seeds. We will definitely go back very soon even it is 35 minutes drive away :) Update, we ate Burrito and Nachos with king oyster mushrooms, they are delight, I like king oyster mushrooms more than chorizo in Nachos, it’s less greasy. Their service is also great, welcomed us with a big smile and shared us about their passion which is very compassionate and ethical.

Found this place on Google while searching for vegan tacos in town. It was freezing cold and we decided to sit on the picnic tables outside and eat on a Friday evening! The menu had great options to choose from. We ordered taco trio : Pollo asado, asada, carnitas, al pastor and all the tacos were served on blue corn tortilla (the best!) and also got chips with jalapeño queso. The order took almost 40 mins to arrive. Which was a long wait especially when you are hungry. The food arrived hot and fresh! The Pollo asado was my fav but it was spicy for me. I wish they had less spicy salsa to go with it. But unfortunately they didn't. The chips n queso was great in taste. Next time we did prefer to order prior and pick the parcel instead of sitting out in the cold and waiting for the food. But great place overall for vegan tacos! Must try! Will surely get some vegan tacos 🌮 & quesadillas 😋 next time!

This is one of the best vegan spots! The customer service is always excellent (like make your day better excellent) and the food is very delicious and well portioned. There is great attention to detail down to making sure everything is labeled properly, having the perfect amount of sauce, and keeping items fresh for as long as possible. I highly recommend this spot!

This was some of the best food we’ve had out in a LONG TIME! Just so disappointed with the food service and quality in Atlanta for the past few years. Sergio was such an amazing host and so welcoming and knew about all the foods. Being vegetarian, it’s hard to find food that’s not an impossible or beyond burger. So good! And the aroma from the kitchen was just so enticing. We live about 45 minutes away (without traffic, 1 hour with) and it was worth every minute of the drive! I just can’t give a good enough review. Just use 3791 Presidential Pkwy in your directions, and you’ll find it with no problem.

Lately, I’d been craving GOOD Mexican vegan food. This was my first time here and I’M ADDICTED! Between the exceptional customer service and the AMAZING food they’ve got a customer for life! Definitely check them out even if you’re not vegan!
