Gorgeous vineyard. The service was excellent. I sat outside on the beautiful grassy area. Pet friendly. Enjoyed a flight and bought a bottle and some honey. They offer a charcuterie plate for snacking or bring your own. The entire outdoor area is covered with large oak trees, so it provides wonderful shade in the hot summer.

Beautiful place, only $20 for 5 wines. The lady pouring was friendly and informative. One of the oldest vineyards in the area. Also the only one open till 5:30!

We came by for disc golf and a wine tasting. Had a blast with disc golf on the property! The tasting was not as great unfortunately. We've been to a few other tastings around Paso Robles and we're from the Bay Area so frequent trips up to wine country, and the pours here seem to be quite stingy. There were also long lulls between pours, we could see other tables getting their pours more reasonably spaced out. There was a group at the next table that came after us and finished before us. Perhaps it's a one off...we did enjoy the grounds and learning about the various varietals and how they come through in the wine.

This place was amazing!! Sherri was so kind and knowledgeable and taught us so much about wine and wine tasting!! I would definitely come back. I liked the vibe way more than some of the bougier wineries for half the price and more wine!! The vineyard is so beautiful too

A great stop for wine tasting, enjoying the beauty of nature and also playing a round of disc golf! The Italian white wine varietal (first on the mixed tasting list) was my favorite. Worth a stop and very family friendly. They even have a few disc golf holes near the tasting room to practice putting!

Yes, the wine is tasty, and the scene is marvelous….but for those of us who enjoy Disc Golf, this place is a major gem, and super fun course.

We enjoyed the wine, it was delicious! Sherry took fabulous care of us, indulged us with pertinent history and information without being overwhelming. We could’ve listened to her all day. Of course, we became members and look forward to our return tastings and free shipments.

We had a delightful Sunday afternoon with Madeline (sp?) today! Our experiences at this winery and their sumptuous wines keep us coming back! Six times in 12 months from Bloomington IN. As we left today with smiles on our faces and some wine to enjoy in the future we remarked that it felt like leaving home. Our dog loves it too, was in a great hurry to get there even without tasting the wine. 😎 Thank you Castoro!

Great discussion through the wine list. Knowledge help through the flight. Beautiful grounds. Wines were medium nothing amazing. Short changed our order purchased 6 but only 5 ended up in our box. Called the winery and apparently there is "no way" to look us up by name, order type, or credit card. Update: emailed manager, was able to get matter cleared up. Editted to 3 stars.

A weird and awkward experience that may or may not have involved retail theft, but leaves an awful taste in your mouth no amount of water or oyster crackers will cover. We went on an off day and was hosted by an older lady at the bar. She regaled us with various stories, some half believable (like a perk of the job including taking 6 or 7 bottles a night to drink, and being a former medical director), some not so much (like being able to smell snakes). At the end, we closed out just to at least cover the tasting fees, and she convinced us to round up to 6 bottles for a 10% discount. She made an overt showing of presenting all the bottles on the counter prior to packing and made sure to fold in the top of the box in on itself. Of course we didn't bother to check or with a receipt and drove home the next day, only then to realize we were missing one of the most expensive bottles. The winery has no way of finding our receipt to refund the missing item, in this modern day I find that hard to believe. So that's it, this review and the loss of a future customer is all that amounts to. We're not going to bother throwing a real Karen fit over a random bottle of Paso wine and would normally give something like this a pass, but that overt showing of the bottles and careful packaging does make one's mind wander. Like is this a habitual tactic of the winery or its sale staff? Either way, maybe you'll find this story an interesting read, and remember to check your box and keep a receipt.

Stayed here for a weekend and enjoyed everyminute of it. The rooms and house is wonderful and very cozy.

Tony is so sweet and very knowledgeable! Wine is delicious, $20 for a flight is reasonable and all are delicious. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained, relaxing experience. Drank wine while my boyfriend played disc golf for $5 at the on-site course, loaner discs available! Highly recommend.

Castoro’s Whale Rock Festival is absolutely wonderful. It’s a total blast. Great music, great vibes, and such a beautiful place. Highly recommended.

In the afternoon we visited Castoro Winery, they have Dam Fine Wines ... we had 12 tastings! The server's name is Angela and was generous with her pours and sharing wine tips and wine making stories. Loved, loved, loved our experience ❤️❤️❤️

This was my first wine tasting ever and Tony TRULY made the experience worthwhile. It is a shame I live so far from Paso Robles as I would come here every weekend if I could. He is what made the experience great for us. He knows so much about the wines and his storytelling on the history just made everything spectacular and made me appreciate every wine I tasted. Please come on a TUESDAY, FRIDAY OR SATURDAY so you can see TONY! I enjoyed every wine he brought out and for $20 a flight, you cannot go wrong. It can even be both a mix of red and white if you prefer. Thank you Castoro for the most memorable wine tasting I will ever have!

Really disappointed. Not really a kid friendly place, I felt as though I was not welcome. The atmosphere was dull. Nothing stood out. Again, not the experience I expected.

Good wine and excellent service

My partner and I visited on a Friday morning (Nov 18th) having searched Google to find a winery to visit before we left Paso Robles and we were so glad we chose this place! We didn't book in advance but that wasn't a problem as we were seen to as soon as we walked through the door. The service from Greg was amazing, we had such a fun morning trying the wines and chatting. We would highly recommend this place. The cost of the wine tasting was very reasonable when compared to others in the area and was refunded after we purchased a couple of bottles.

Best wine and best wine tasting experience I had in Paso Robles. Tony was great and we enjoyed our time here immensely. I’m sure it is beautiful in the spring.

This is the only winery & vineyard in the country that has its own disc golf course on the property. The experience I had here was great. The thought that went into designing the disc golf course really shows. I love how they incorporate the wine barrels into the course. I love seeing all the huge oak trees. The best part is after (or before) your round you can drink wine from the tasting room. My favorite was their Zinfusion. I wish I lived closer by so that I could play here more often.

We didn't have a chance to try the wines, we came for the disc golf course. The course is very well kept and unique! Challenging enough for those with experience and fun for beginners. You really develop an appreciation for the beauty of the area while playing this course! They have discs for rent if you didn't bring any.

What part of, "Drink your wine and enjoy the view," do you not get? It was a lovely afternoon. We decided to stop for the day instead of traveling on. I contacted a friend who regular hits the Paso wine scene and he suggested Castoro for a pleasant tasting experience. We sat outside looking out over the old vine Zinfandel, rolling hills with a gentle breeze on a sunny but mild day. Amy was our taster. Great job Amy! We had a good chat about the wines, the grapes, and the area. We tasted - We enjoyed - We purchased! Why not 5 stars then, eh mister?! Well, one minor hiccup due to a poor internet connection. It won't keep us from returning but enough to knock it down just a bit.

A gem of winery. The falanghina Zinfusion were amazing. But the best part of the tasting was the gentleman transplanted from LA. He was a wealth of information and excited about the wine industry in Paso Robles. Kudos to Castoro for hiring him 20 years ago.

Sat. Aug. 6 This was our first time doing this, and I think we picked the perfect Winery/Vineyard. And we got the perfect server as well. The scenery was gorgeous. We sat outside, under a canopy of trees, with a beautiful view of the vineyard. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable. He answered all our questions about the winery, vineyard, and gave us a couple of good tips on where to go for our next stop. The grapes/wine in the Paso Robles area are a little on the dry side, and not our favorite. But the flavors were amazing. This is a great place for couples or small groups to sit and relax outside in the fresh air. Oh, we bought a bottle of their Trentotto Anniversary Blend. We would definitely come back.

We saw a live music event and it was the perfect evening. The views and wine are fantastic! Everyone is very friendly and passionate about the wine as well.

Seriously incredible. Both servers I interacted with were amazing to talk to and a wealth of information on the vineyard. The disc golf course is gorgeous (just bring water!) And overall just makes you excited to be there. I wish I lived nearby because I'd pick up a membership and be here weekly if I was.

Excellent experience. The vineyard is lovely & the setup for tasting overlooking it is picturesque. Good wine for reasonable prices. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and they pour generous servings even for tasting. Also has a pretty great annual membership deal to ship out of state especially.

Our server was wonderful. Wine was excellent. Lots of shade and good jazz music.

Played the disc golf course and it's terrific. Was about 100 out today, so that was a challenge. Often under shade of majestic oaks. Multiple pin/basket placements on most holes. Go early on hot days, bring hydration. The winery looks very nice with a welcoming shaded patio with tables. Too hot and early to drink, but place looks first class.

Friendly, casual vineyard with lots of areas to sit and sip. They have a refrigerated section if you get the muchies for some cheeses or even a nice charcuterie sampler.

In my mind, this is the area's best winery. They have the best wine, gracious hosts and a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere. If anyone asks where to go, I always mention Castoro first!

Amy was amazing, we were sold and signed up to be club members. Amy was super friendly and made our wine tasting very comfortable specially that it was super cold out when we arrived. Will definitely recommend Castoro - Zinfandel and Malbec were astonishing..

Awesome disc golf course! Very well maintained and fun place to play. As a first time player at the course, it would have been nice to have the sign for checking in placed at the front before you get all the way to the entrance and realize you have to turn around.

Love this place and their wine! Been coming here for tastings for years and finally signed up for the wine club - super reasonable and free shipping! The wines are delicious, both red and white. The open seating area is great for tasting, the staff is wonderful, and the wines are always amazing. I like fruity whites, buttery Chardonnays and bold peppery reds - they have them all. Will keep coming back and until then, going to enjoy my wine clubs deliveries!

1st time back for a club pickup since virus, very nicely done 👍 thanks😀 day at this Vineyard enjoying good music from the TypsyGypsies. The wine was varied and very well done, although they were very busy due to the band, our wine server was very attentive and knowledgeable. We liked it enough that we joined the wine club. They also had excellent house made pizza.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience at Castoro! Steffi helped us out. She was incredibly informative, friendly, and knowledgeable. We ended up purchasing a few bottles to take home. Overall, it was the best winery experience we’ve ever had! Definitely recommend if you’re in the Paso Robles/Templeton area!

The young man that waited on us was really chill and let us grab a glass of wine, even though they were closing in less 30 mins. We enjoyed sitting outside and the Alberino and Merlot were very good. We will definitely be back!

Friendliest winery we've ever been to, and some really decent wines. Unbeatable combination. If you're accustomed to pretentious wineries, do yourself a real favor and visit Castoro. An incredibly relaxing environment and lovely people. We always come away with a half-dozen bottles or more. In non-pandemic times, Castoro is on our must-visit list when we have friends and relatives visiting.

I have always loved Castoro winery for various reasons. Being certified organic was the main reason I visited and tasted the wine in the first place. This last visit which was my birthday and my parents anniversary far exceeded my expectations! Our lovely hostess Sherry Sweeney dazzled us with her profound knowledge of wine tasting and their product. The wine was magnificent but even more so when presented in such a remarkable way. Thank you so much Sherri for make our visit the highlight if our special day! Plus I will always remember our experience!

Had a great time here! Greg was very informative, but most importantly, we left feeling like he was a friend. Really enjoyed the history of the vineyard and the family, the workers and everything they all do there with charity / for the environment. Joined their wine club, and we're looking forward to coming back for the concert later in the year.

The disc golf course is amazing. This has become a must-do activity anytime we're in the area! No matter the season, the views are spectacular. Playing among the vines is truly a special experience.

This was one of the stops for my bachelorette party in March. We enjoyed a tasting and also getting to sit outside and have some lunch that we brought with us. It wasn't too busy and the weather was perfect, very comfortable place to hang out.

The staff were extremely accommodating despite significant heat and the need for social distancing. There is plenty of room to distance and great precautions are taken for dealing with the virus. The wines were excellent as always!

Always a great visit. Staff is always so welcoming and knowledgeable. Due to COVID you must have a reservation. They also provide a new glass for each tasting. We brought our own Mexican brunch and enjoyed under the shady trees.

My husband and I stopped here on our way to the coast per good reviews for a red wine flight, and we are so glad we did! Sherry was our wine guide and she is amazing!! Her friendliness, knowledge of wine and her thoughtfulness for helping us learn new wine tasting tricks made our stop even more enjoyable! The grounds are beautiful, too; an all around relaxing experience.
