First time diner, Mussels were spectacular, French onion soup, scallops all 5 stars !!! Julia our server was spot on !!! This is a can’t miss spot, you will not be disappointed !!! Thank you Julia !!!

This has been around a long time and haven't been here in awhile. After this dinner realized it was certainly a mistake. Food was REALLY good. Everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. Two of the tinest call outs: lettuce on burger was a little soggy and mashed side on churasco steak was a little dry. Certainly set off by EVERYTHING else on the table. Meatball app was great. Penne with chicken was really good. Great sauce, perfect pasta and chicken nice and juicy. Churasco steak was just as ordered. The jasmine rice side was superb!! Everyone at table was fighting over tastes. Wedge salad was done as an entree as it was nice sized and great blue cheese, both crumbles and dressing. Hamburger was solid and fried very good. Excellent dinner with the fam. No room for dessert. We'll be back soon!

The food was delicious! I had the grilled grouper, green beans and rice. I also ordered the rum runner and it came in a neat tiki glass. It was my friends birthday and they brought her a slice of cheesecake, which was very good! I will definitely go back!

Father’s Day brunch was extremely good! The sea bass amazing?

Food was good but a little too expensive for what we were looking for. Took a little while to get served but overall still did a good job.

Food and service was grear. Just one confusion on the chicken and waffles. The chicken is chicken breast that comes with waffles and boy whole Wings. I wanted whole wings with my waffles and they brought me four wing dings. Other than that mix up food was good and server was nice.

We were not thrilled with the service nor the food. The spinach dip was good, and my son's steak was also. But, my salmon wasn't seasoned at all, and the sauce that came with it was bland as well. My potatoes were hard, and my asparagus wasn't tasty either. I wouldn't return even if I was in the Tampa area again.

Tasteless grouper. Asked for it to be blackened and it was just mildly grilled. If they didn't have the blackened seasoning they should have said that. Zero taste. Side of veggies had more taste. Servers friendly and helpful but this review is for food. Will not be eating here again.

First visit here and will definitely return...had the grouper, perfectly cooked & seasoned filet with crimini sauce & St. Martin salad with their seasonal draughts...all tasty & with matching speedy service courtesy of super attentive & delightful Valerie. I ate at this restaurant. I’m Memorial Day for dinner and ordered the following; bread with butter, jumbo coconut shrimp, grilled salmon with butter sauce, and french fries, mahi-mahi with green beans and french fries, and I added a crabcake to the meal for $9.99. For $15.99 the jumbo shrimp was far from Jumbo. Five or six coconut shrimp showed up to the table and the shrimp were the same size as you would buy at the grocery store in the frozen boxes which are about the size of a quarter or slightly larger , but far from jumbo in addition, the shrimps were very hot in the middle, but not hot on the outside. When I asked the waiter about the shrimp, he informed me they were indeed large, jumbo shrimp, like a tiger shrimp, but once they are fried, they shrink down to a quarter size. Overall, not a big fan and had the manager removed this item from our ticket. The salmon wasn’t too bad. Dipping the salmon into the butter sauce, made it more appealing, but nothing to write home about. I did eat the whole salmon. The mahi-mahi I was told was delicious and the butter sauce also complemented the meal. The green beans were very good as they were soft and hints of garlic. The crabcake was OK. From someone who is born and raised in Maryland I’m very biased when it comes to crabcakes. Crabcake had some hints of crab in it along with lots of filler and topped with mango sauce. I’m not saying it was horrible just saying it’s not largely convincing. I’ve been filled with chunks of crab. I did eat the whole crabcake and thought it wasn’t bad for someone who’s never really had crabcakes filled with Chesapeake blue crab. And of course, as you can imagine, the french fries, and the bread and butter topped it off.

Hope dies a brutal death at this dumpster fire of a restaurant in West Chase. You know you are in trouble when the greeter tells the server that you have 2 for a booth and the server looks at the greeter and motions with her eyes, "no...get someone else to seat them." Lobster bisque was salty and lobster was chewier than my memories of Bazooka bubble gum. While the tacos were decent, you could get a better Taco 🌮 at Bahama Breeze. Wanna pay $3.00 extra for sweet potato fries? Think again....and what you will receive is burnt, thinly sliced stubs that somebody thought would be best served with a shaker of sugar. This place does not make you feel welcome and the service is non existent. Like they say in Texas, EL PASO!

My friends and I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday because we all live in different areas and it was somewhat central to all of us. We waited about 40 minutes for our first round of drinks, appetizer came out before our drinks! Then our second round of drinks took about 25 minutes! Our server was nice but not as attentive as we would’ve liked. Atmosphere was very loud, had to almost yell to hear each other. Food was absolutely delicious! Definitely need to hire more people to work behind the bar, and possibly more servers too.

Yesterday, we came to this restaurant to celebrate my brother's birthday. We had a table reserved. However, we ended up waiting for quite a while, but what happened next really changed our impression. The food was generally tasty, but my tuna dish had slightly undercooked rice. I'm writing this not to complain, but so that you can rectify this situation in the future. Our waiter, Danny, was very attentive and polite; you could tell he cared, and it made a very positive impression. So, the service was just excellent. Then the manager came over and offered us a 30% discount, which was very pleasant and surprising because we didn't really need it. When you come hungry, of course, you get a little upset, but that's normal. They also gave us a very tasty dessert to take away, which was also nice. Overall, the atmosphere, the people, everything was great, so we will definitely be coming back here

We live 10 min away but haven’t been here, what a shame🤭 the food is … OMG! So good! We loved every dish we ordered ! So unique and delicious! Highly recommend!

This is a very nice upscale eatery located in Westchase Subdivision. Pleasant relaxing decor. We went with the Rock Lobster Pasta and CousCous dishes. Both were very good. Their menus are iPads so it made for easy ordering. Overall very good experience. Parking is a challenge.

Catch twenty three looks amazing, upon walking in your met with great enthusiasm. it's a beautiful restaurant and very lively but the food was Average . Lobster escargot - It was fairly bland and nothing stood out enough.I was expecting the Parmesan to shine here and didn't get the escargot experience I was expecting. Definitely needed some salt and more Parmesan or garlic. Rock lobster linguini - The lobsters had a nice grill char but again seasoning is lacking heavily. The pasta is bland, there's a hint of garlic and butter which is standard but there was not enough flavor for me to really enjoy it. The grouper sandwich was decent with the only plus being the flakiness of the fish. Again it was lacking in seasoning department and not the blackened fish experience I expected. The sweet potato fries were overcooked with a hint of cinnamon, oddly enough they were a bit soggy. Beautiful restaurant in a great location but food was average. It was really busy so that could have possibly been why catch had an off night but oh well.

Unfortunately inconsistent. We loved everything we ordered the first time we came, second time (with some overlap in dishes) it was all a bit disappointing. Scallops were only seared on one side, and the Seabass dish just seemed to be missing on overall quality that we noted the first time there. Service was kind of a rush. We fairly early at 6 o’clock, but it was quite empty in the dining room though noisy from the bar. Might try again but not soon.

We ordered beers that took 15-20 minutes to arrive. Then we ordered 10oz churrascos that were 4oz at most, super tiny. They cut the churrasco in strips so you don’t notice how small it is. A 10oz churrasco cooked medium shrinks to 7-8oz, but we got almost nothing. I will never go back. They are definitely not giving the quantities they say in the menu.

Got reservations for thanksgiving pre-fixe dinner at $43.95 pp. first course was butternut squash soup, delicious And got me excited for the rest of the meal. But the Turkey dinner was so disappointing. Turkey was tasty, juicy, decent gravy but included at least half dark meat which I don’t eat. Ice cream scoop sized portions of mashed potatoes and stuffing, nothing to write home about. Green bean “casserole” was just a pile of limp green beans in gravy, and about 2 tablespoons of the most sour cranberry relish I’ve ever had. No rolls or bread included. Dessert was fine. But overall, not worth anything close to $45 each. Service was fine, girl was very sweet but didn’t go above and beyond. Despite this a 25% tip was automatically added to the bill. For three people? Didn’t appreciate that at all. In the end, with one cocktail each, dinner for three cost $240 — an absolutely atrocious amount for a forgettable meal with super small portions. Wish we had stayed home!

We came here for brunch on a sunday morning. The atmosphere was great since we get to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. However, the food was below standard. There was an egg shell on my fried egg, and there were hair and a piece of plastic in my husband's egg benedicts. The restaurant's manager comp our meal as an apology for the lack of quality and sanitary of our food, which is nice. The customer service here is great, and they gave out strong bottomless mimosa ($15/ person). Maybe the cook was having a bad day, maybe it was just our luck. But we would not come back here for the food. Might come back for Happy hour drinks since it looks like they had a good menu of mixed cocktails

Amazing I went here for brunch on Sunday and they have 15$ bottomless mimosas! The food was amazing and the staff was super helpful and fast. I’ll be back. I recommend the Hawaiian sushi roll and the lobster steak eggs Benedict

I got the crab stuffed shrimp and crab and shrimp Ravioli and it was sooo good. I ate it before I took a pic. My cuz had the special flatbread which was spinach and chicken. Soooo good too. I'm going back. Will take pics next time. Our server Ariana was so sweet. She made great recommendations on food and drinks. I don't know how to do a new review, however I went back and it was just as good. Our server Chloe was WONDERUL!!!!

We stopped in for a late lunch / very early dinner so crowds would not be the issues Great atmosphere with friendly service. The menu was packed with so many mouthwatering options it made it hard to choose We starter with the beef tenderloin tips, cooked to perfection with amazing flavors. The texture of the baguette with the beef tenderloin was amazing. For our main course we had the scallop dish and the crab stuffed shrimp. The scallops had an intense flavor. Delicious. The crab stuffing was perfect with the shrimp all of which was smothered in an incredible cream sauce I highly recommend this establishment

Visited Friday with the family, I thought the location was nice despite difficulty in parking. The restaurant was clean and very aesthetically pleasing. The drinks were strong, although the apple cider Sangria taste like cheap riesling, the mule was good. The panko Mahi was well seasoned, pasta perfectly adente Fruiti de mar, delicious. A good children's menu for adventurous and not so adventurous eaters. Bon apetite.

My husband I stopped here for a late lunch. We sat outside and the service was great. They have a great selection of mocktails (more than many other restaurants). I had the coconut shrimp and the dipping sauce was something I’ve never tasted before and it was glorious! I cannot wait to return for a dinner menu.

Great little independently owned/operated restaurant in West Chase. Great job on the remodel and menu overhaul. Food and service were great, no issues on a busy Friday night. Prices are also better than some other competitors just down the road in Oldsmar.

I have been here several times. Neighborhood restaurant vibe, recent renovation and decor. Outdoor and indoor sitting available. They have burger, sushi and steak nights. I have tried burgers and most time fries is hot and fresh ( they need to make it more persistent) 😁 Caribbean inspired cuisine and a variety of appetizers are in the menu. Price and size of the meal are reasonable. Overall I recommend. 👍🏼

I have been here a couple times and this is a magnificent little restaurant to eat at. They have specials for everyday of the week and the food is top quality. Top quality food at almost the top of the price compared to other places, but this place has it all. The best special drinks as well so give those a try if you're of age as well. As for seating, there is a small bar section, with outdoor seating and indoor booth seating with some tables.

This is the kind of place that you really want to be better, but it’s only ever going to be just OK. I’ve been here several times, most recently this past weekend. The location is great, right in the shops at West Park Village. It’s easy to walk to from anywhere in the village or even the nearby neighborhoods of Westchase. It has a nice area of outdoor seating and a good amount of inside dining space. The hosts and servers try hard. They’re courteous and helpful. But this weekend there just weren’t enough of them. It was a slow progression through dinner with long waits between visits from our server, many empty glasses, and finished plates that sat for a long time. The food is just OK. The dish selections are inventive enough, but they just aren’t executed very well. Edamame were still really raw. The calamari was rubbery, and it was cold by the time we got it, but it tasted OK. The seared tuna sushi was over cooked and dried out. The lobster roll sushi was the opposite - under cooked, so it came out greasy, although the flavour was fine. The sea bass was just ok. The crusted mahi was way overcooked and tasted like chicken katsu. But ok, it’s a seafood place in a suburb, so it’s kind of in line with expectations. At least it’s a good place to get some cocktails, right? Well… The first rye old fashioned was very nearly water. By the time it arrived it had obviously been sitting for a while as the big cube was almost melted completely. At least the cherry tasted good. The second old fashioned didn’t have an orange twist or a cherry or any garnish at all. The bourbon sour we ordered was just plain incorrect - not sure what was in that but it was bitter and tasted like soap, so we sent it back for a vodka cranberry. We wished we had just gone around the corner to the cocktail bar for good drinks. Overall, Catch Twenty-Three is fine if you’re gonna be in Westchase anyway. I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to try it though. And if you’re just looking for solid drinks, there’s a way better option just steps away. I’ll probably give it another shot again in the future, because it has potential to improve.

Good food but our server was horrible. She ignored us and had a terrible attitude. We were friendly as she was just grouchy. Also at the end of our meal she added a 10$ tip and acted like I did it on accident. Then she hid and acted like she didn't notice until my girlfriend asked about it. She couldn't even look us in the eye. She's a theif and will probably do it to you. No telling how many other servers there do it to. Won't be going back.

I had an amazing time today. First time doing Brunch here and I was not disappointed. Ariana was SOOO NICE, ATTENTIVE, made great suggestions, and made my experience a good one. The crab cake benedict was AMAZING and the Rum Runner cocktail *chefs kiss*.

I was unsure about trying Catch 23 because of the mixed reviews but my boyfriend and I were both pleasantly surprised! The service, atmosphere, cocktails, and food were all great. Our server, Alex, was especially knowledgeable and kind. Needless to say we will be back! To other readers, give this place a try!!!

The service was terrible. Nick was awful. Our waters were empty the majority of the meal. Bread came with the meal. The drinks took forever. The food was good, but I expected better for the price.

They charged 18 percent gratuity for 2 people and not just that but our food came out cold plus my fish that I ordered was supposed to be Chilean sea bass but it was actually a small piece of cod. Tried this place for brunch, and by the end it was obvious why there was hardly anyone in there. Staff outnumbered customers. Waitress had no idea what the specials were, what the quiche of the day was, etc. Coffee arrived cold. Water ordered without ice came filled with ice cubes. Hot sauce we requested didn’t come. I asked again after the food finally arrived, and it came halfway through eating. 10 minutes after finishing, still no one came to clear the dishes or ask if we wanted anything else or offer to bring the bill. Finally we asked someone clearing dishes at the next table to try to get our bill. That person got the waitress to stop chatting with a co-worker and stop by to ask if we wanted our bill… yes, that’s what we requested… A few minutes later, she brought the bill but seemed lost because there was no room for it on the tiny table, and she didn’t have the presence of mind to remove any dishes, so she just stood there slack jawed… It really was an unforgettable experience.

Not very good. Had reservations for Thanksgiving. Started off bad ended worse. Could find my reservation. Finally I showed them. Then was to be seated at the front door where everyone hangs out. We didn’t sit Took an awhile for server. Won’t name him. We chose their Thanksgiving dinner. 3 courses with appetizers. Appetizers didn’t arrive. I asked after the first course. Server says “it didn’t come?”. Uh no. The deviled eggs seemed like Publix processed brand. The entree was barely warm enough. Ordered the desert as the 3rd course. Wanted the pumpkin cheesecake. Server said they were out. Ok. Understandable. Then a runner brought out bread with butter. What? After the meal? Asked the server about it and he wasn’t aware. Really? The table adjacent ordered pumpkin cheesecake and waited for their server to say they were out. She didn’t. So I asked our server and he said he didn’t know. This guy is completely clueless. To insult me more they added 18% tip . Usually I’ll add 20% for good service. This was terrible. It should have been 0% Definitely not a good place. Go elsewhere.

Location is good and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. The menus were iPads and that was cool. Met up with some friends for lunch here. As I walked in and told the waiter that my friends were here, he immediately asked me what I wanted to drink at the entrance. It was interesting. When we asked a few questions about the menu he had little knowledge of the foods and drinks. Unfortunate service… The food was nice, the oysters and surf and turf sushi was tasty! I enjoyed the tuna and nappa cabbage salad. The seared tuna was a bit dry for my liking but the dressing was amazing!

Normally my wife and I come here for special occasions, like birthdays and anniversaries. Today was my wife's birthday but it wasn't the greatest experience this time. The restaurant was nearly empty and it took about 45 minutes for our order to arrive from the kitchen. We had to ask for the complimentary bread about twenty minutes into the occasion when the server finally returned to our table to check on us. It was about another 15 minutes after we were told that our order was nearly ready that it finally arrived. It would have been better to set our expectations from the beginning that things were running slow in the kitchen. I usually get grouper and this time I requested the grouper sandwich. It was a small piece on a large roll - way more bread than fish (see photo). Don't get me wrong, the grouper is very good but if a restaurant is going to serve it as a sandwich, it should at least fill the bun or please just take it off of the menu. All-in-all this was a frustrating experience so we'll take a long break before trying this place again.

We’ve been going to Catch 23 for over 10 years. It’s always been kind of our old faithful for a decent dinner without having to go far. But the prices are shocking lately. I just met some friends for dinner and ordered my favorite casual wine, Freakshow Cabernet. In the grocery store the bottle varies in price from $10 to $16. And it’s currently BOGO at Publix. Tonight’s 9oz glass at Catch 23 cost me $19!! There is no excuse for this ridiculous price.

I was not super impressed with the food. I was optimistic based on reviews but everything I had was mediocre. The waitress was nice and although very very busy and loud inside... the atmosphere was still fine and somewhat classy.

Lemon Drop and a Limoncello Martini- where was the booze? Supposed to be bubbly Prosecco with the limoncello. Completely flat. No bubbles. One grouper entree and one frutti di mare. The fish was perfectly cooked. As for flavor? Meh. Wait staff needs to be trained to look at the table and make sure there is silverware. If a dish with shells is served make sure there’s a bowl for them. I had to use a martini glass because I got tired of them getting in my way. A lot of money for a so what experience. Not a repeat under any circumstances.
