How does this place stay in business??? Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had.

First of all the person answering the phone spoke so fast I couldn't understand a word. We ordered 2 specials. Orange Chicken, which was cooked and re-cooked at least 6 time. Absolutely DISGUSTING!! Rice was also a BOMB. Second special was Beef & Broccoli. The beef was pure FAT, broccoli was fresh and sauce good. Eggrolls were the best part of the dinner. NEVER AGAIN!!

The recent owners have been preparing quality take out. The meals have been well prepared, well seasoned, fresh ingredients, nice sized shrimp & not too much oil. We have enjoyed the combination plates, egg foo Yong, Moo shu dishes, and their garlic and black bean sauces. Good portions and fresh ingredients.

We have been ordering from Chan’s for years. There have been a few times we have “cheated” and tried other spots in the area. We’ve been really disappointed and have regretted ordering from those places and just stay loyal now. Probably going to order tonight.

Best egg rolls, love the red snapper. Good lunch deals.

Sat. p.m. before Easter, the staff was super friendly, smiled, and spoke with me. Food was ready when I got there, and he went over everything that was in the bag. We were not at all disappointed with our food. It was so fresh & very delicious. My husband & I were so glad we picked Chans for our dinner nite. Can't wait to do this dinner nite sometime again soon. Thank you Chans!!!

4/09/2024. Stopped by for the first time. I ordered Chicken Chow Mein & my wife had the House Egg Foo Young. > Doesn't appear they have online ordering. > If dine-in, they only have a few tables & chairs that appear purchased from 2nd hand shop. > Chicken Chow Mein had chicken and cabbage over bed of red rice (pork fried rice). Chicken was good; rice was not pork fried rice but something that did not taste good. Most importantly; there were NO noodles. > House Egg Foo Young - good, but gravey was more of a paste. > And not even a Fortune Cookie! > Don't think we'll be going back.

Amazing customer service. I highly recommend the dumplings. They were amazing as well.

Wonderful Chinese food and service

Best and only Chinese place I'll go to foods always hot and consistently good and above that the owner is very friendly and that's hard to come by anymore!

Called in order and was told 20 minutes, we waited at our house for 20 minutes well when we got there food was not ready and had to wait an additional 25 minutes

Mat was tough,chicken dried out. A terrible experience. There is much better in the area.

We have ordered here before but thi time the food was rushed and put together sloppy. And we have up all night after eating it. It definitely gave us food poisoning. We are still very sick since last night!

Good service, yummy food, not greasy at all like a lot of Chinese food can be, and huge portions! Very convenient location with plenty of parking. Very clean.

Worst food ever!!! Gravy tasted like from a jar. Rice tasted of rancid oil. Chicken over cooked until it was like dehydrated meat.

Worst ever! Taste/texture clearly double cooked/fried. Inedible. I’ve had food here before and it was ok, but this is unacceptable. Contacted to complain. Waste of time!

Overpriced and small ribs even when you order a large. The Lo mein tasted like it was off or going bad. I won't come back.

The usual Chinese takeout spot, but the friendliness and the quick efficiency of the family who own and operate the restaurant make all the difference! The prices are reasonable - especially in this economic tumultuous period. The food is also good. Even though it is the only Chinese takeout in Beverly Hills, this community is lucky to have such nice people running this restaurant!

Food was old. I ordered sesame chicken and paid extra 3.25 for Lomain instead of rice and it was so old and plain. No veggies, no chicken, just plain sticky noodles. The chicken was lousy and cold. First and LAST time visiting Chan’s. What a huge disappointment. It’s a shame that you just can’t find a good Chinese restaurant anywhere anymore.

We ordered delivery and it was pretty quick. Everything was delicious and were pretty big sizes for how inexpensive it was.

Horrible quality Chinese food and overpriced for what you receive. Every time I have ordered lunch at work they have failed to deliver as well as not make things right when you call them with issues. The food is bland and they charge for actual sauces to be put on the food. Don’t even waste your time with this place. Picture for reference of dry pork they serve you. Not a drop of sauce in any of it. Just to add you can taste the food has been reheated and cooked prior to serving. The rice tastes horrible. Will be charging back with my bank as they refused to refund me.

Terrible meals. Boneless ribs were sooo dry. Definitely were not cooked today. General Tsoos chicken was terribly dry as well. Fried wonton were pretty much void of any meat.

The pork egg rolls are good the Kung Po Chicken was not good....full of chopped raw celery very little Chicken and carrots were not cooked. This place would not be my 1st choice. But it was clean in the restaurant.

It’s Inverness people!! What did you expect a Panda Express?? This is the best place you got here and probably in the surrounding area. And it’s better than any of their competitors… hands down. The people are nice despite having to tolerate you.. they always give you more than you deserve and it’s always hot enough to burn your hairy upper lip. So stop complaining and enjoy your better than average local Asian cuisine, geez.

Be careful. One of the workers there are stealing card info and using it elsewhere. I went in and got lunch there today for the first time and almost an hour later my bank account was wiped out. The food was great though just not $375 great.

Just ate take out from here and our whole family agreed that something didn't taste right. Not just one dish, but all of them tasted funny. Now I'm nervous and staying close to the bathroom.

Last night was our first time ordering from here and the food was excellent. We had crispy honey chicken, chicken with vegetables, steamed dumplings, egg rolls, and chicken fried rice and everything was excellent. We will definitely come here again.

My go to for local Chinese food for over 20 years. Never a miss, always a hit. Send anybody who asks for good takeout to go there, no matter their town. It’s right in the center of the county anyway. We have our go-toos, but everything we try is always THE BEST. And you just can’t beat the lunch special anywhere! So good so always busy, call ahead or wait awhile, just please don’t complain your giant order takes awhile!!! I recommend always call ahead!

Great food great service , try the coconut chicken , pan fried dumplings, chicken and broccoli had it sone in black bean sauce !!!

It is the absolute WORSE FOOD EVER!! THE WON TONS WERE SO HARD I COULDN'T EVEN BITE DOWN ON THEM. THE FRIED RICE TASTE SPOILED AND THE SESAME CHICKEN WAS SOSO!! YOU WANT GOOD FOOD GO TO THE ONE IN BEVERLY HILLS BY WINN DIXIE!!!

The people are great but the bourbon chicken wasn't fresh. It was dried out like they microwaved it The sauce was good but the dried edges of the chicken made it hard to chew :( The place also was not very clean inside and very outdated.

Absolutely disgusting!!!! Moo goo go pan had clear, slimy gelatin substance in it. Egg roll had little to no filling and was flavorless. Hot and sour soup smelled like BBQ. Totally inedible!!!!!!!!!!

We love this Chinese place for take-out. The food isn’t salty like most take-out places. It taste fresh and flavorful. There is always a little wait but I don’t mind - the food is worth it. Staff is polite and friendly. I order the chicken in garlic sauce or Szechuan chicken with steamed rice and a side of lo mein. My kids love the teriyaki sticks, crab rangoons and chicken wings. Honestly, everything we tried has been good. From the chow mein to the bourbon chicken. Can’t go wrong with this place. The egg rolls are sooo good! Wow to my surprise the food was fresh and delicious and the lady was very nice and pleasant this is my new favorite Chinese restaurant and worth my recommendation thank you for serving good quality food at a fair price.

Was hoping to sit and enjoy some lomein. Web site says open for dine in. Not correct. Reviews were not terrific but we looked at the menu anyway since we had driven quite a ways. One order came out and the smell was not appetizing so we didn't chance it.

Their food is really good and the prices are good to. They appreciate their customers and really take care to learn the regulars and it shows. That's one of the many reasons we go there atleast once or twice every week. I love their smiling faces!!

For some reason the quality has gone down some. Don't know if it's new owners, cooks or food quality.

What a scam ... prices on THEIR website are wrong, very wrong. I ordered the wings (4) and fried rice dinner (under "specialties," located at the top center of their very own online menu) - $5.25. When picking up the order the cost was $9.25 WTF? The cashier's response was "oh no, that menu is five years old." Wow!!! So, for two orders of that crappy chicken wing dish and a quart of the worst won ton soup ever (broth was brown, noodles very thick), $26.00. RIP OFF. Not only was the food bad, but the restaurant was barren, register area blocked off with plastic and a dirty table where they place your takeout. It's run like a mill - these folks clearly don't care about their customers. They should not be in business.

Don't even bother looking at the prices on their online menu. They are so off it's ridiculous. And they're aware it's wrong. They should uphold those prices or change it. This place has gone so downhill.

We have been going to Chan's since we moved here 15 years ago. They have had wonderful customer service and even better food. It has never tasted bland. Now my family doesn't order spicy food so I cannot speak to that, however everything else (egg rolls, sweet & sour chicken, house fried rice, etc) has been delicious!

I had worked all day and didn't want to cook dinner for my husband and I. I didn't realize that this restaurant was so close to home and decided to try it. I ordered General Tso's Chicken, Beef with mixed vegatables and 4 egg roll's....$34.00. First thing, the duck sauce in the packet tasted Bad, not just a bad taste but like something was seriously wrong with it. I tried a second pack and it was the same. Next, the General Tso's Chicken was inedible. It was so hard, like there was no chicken in it and dried out dough in sauce. The egg rolls were dried out and basicly too hard eat. The beef and mixed veggie's were barely passable but turned into our only meal and 2 people didn't even finish it....in the trash it went. This is my first review of any kind because that's just not my style but I feel I need to foreworn other's that may be excited for a Chinese mea lfrom here.

Great location, OK service. Food used to be better, tastes like ingredients, mainly spices, are missing. They increase prices by shrinking portions.

Best Chinese food in area. Good variety of food. Unfortunately closes at 830 pm on weekdays.

We have been coming to Chan's Restaurant for some time now. We are always treated with respect and graciousness. This is the best Chinese food around.

They supersede the customer service of most other restaurants local & a far. (Super Great People! - You can just tell!) Their food is some of the BEST Chinese around! So Fresh, & slightly different each time! Sometimes it's more sweet & sometimes it's more flavorful - but both times it's Damn Good DELIOUSOUS! DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU LIKE CHINESE FOOD. We ordered pork fried rice, cashew chicken and pork with mushrooms. They used yellow rice in the pork fried rice and it was undercooked. The cashew chicken had chicken skin in it and was crammed with celery. The pork in the pork and mushrooms tasted like it was yesterday’s leftovers and it was very tough. They get one star for not ruining the white rice.

Eggs rolls very good fried rice very good but them yelling everytime we go order though I know it's the way they talk way to loud.....bourbon chicken very hard not edible.

I have ordered food from Chan's many, many times and always ordered the same thing. This time I ordered a combination dinner of shrimp with broccoli, steamed rice with veggies and sauce and an egg roll. It was absolutely delicious. It was a take out.

The lady behind the counter constantly talking on her phone. Got the orders placed and we were going to sit at a table to eat. She calls out, "food ready" ...so I go to counter and pick up. I ask for fork or spoon and napkins. Let me say I found her a bit rude. The rice was overcooked many times, tasted a bit sour. Did not eat it. Sweet and sour chicken was hot and tasted o.k. the eggroll also tasted sour. I returned my dish to her as well as my friends. told her about the issues with food..all of a sudden she doesn't speak english. She's basically ignoring me and talking to the 2 men cooking. Won't visit here again.

Good food, came out quick, friendly staff

I walked in and placed my order and paid. I was told 25 min wait. I went to my car and returned in 25 mi . I walked in to find the waitress sitting in a chair. I said I'm here to pick up my order. She looked at me with deer in headlights. I repeated my order and said I paid. She looked at her tickets and realized she never put my order. So sorry, shec said. You wait 2 min, we fix. Now I'm really mad. It was a simple vegetarian dish. I was not happy with their service. She offered me a free soda. I don't drink soda, so declined.

I ordered shrimp with vegetables. The shrimp was bitter and foul tasting. I took it back and asked for my money back. They would not reimburse me because there was a shrimp missing. They spoke among themselves and laughed and offered me one dollar. Save your money and your health and stay away from this restaurant.

Beat in area drive 20 minutes to get food from here.

Went in before shopping at Publix. Lady behind counter was not too friendly. I ordered Sesame Chicken and Pork Egg Foo Young for my husband. Food was good. Gravy though was a little salty for the Egg Foo Young. Egg Rolls were tasty. Cost 17 dollars with tax for both. We have had much better in other cities but We figured we would give it a try. It was not bad, Not Great but good and they do give you a very very large portion.

This is an average Chinese take out. Food isn't too bad. Service could be better. Seems somewhat expensive for take out

The restaurant in cleaner than any other Chinese restaurant in the area. The owner Know his stuff and is fun to deal with. We love Chan's and will be back offend Al & Cheryl Citrus springs, Fl.

This place by far is the best Chinese food in Citrus County. Good value for the money. Food is always consistent in taste and portions. We can go in, order, go next door to to Publix, grocery shop, and go back to Chan's and our order is ready to take home.

I'm surprised by the reviews for this place, we just ordered to go food, the gentleman was kind, patient, had great customer service. The food portions are large, food taste fresh, hot, and we ordered an hour before they closed. We definitely will return next time we're in the area and hungry for Chinese food. Food is pretty good for chinese takeout. It's a little pricey for what it is. The reason i gave it 3 stars is because the menu on their website has less expensive prices than the paper menu in the store. When I brought this up in the store, the woman i spoke with told me that "it was from a long time ago." I understand that things like that happen, but the prices have been different for some time. I don't mind paying the little extra for the convenience. $0.80--$1 is not necessarily going to make most of us go broke, but it's the principle that they are charging more than their online menu stated prices.

We've been here at least a dozen times. Everything was cooked perfectly, hot , and reasonably fast. 10-15 minutes max. Will be back for sure.

Uhhh i dont get these bad reviews? My husband just returned with some delicious general tso with a side of crab rangoon for me. He works in a restaurant and says that chans is super clean. They also have free got tea while you wait, and she gave me a side of duck sauce for my Rangoon. Whhaaat? Will definitely be back! The food is great! Thank you, Chan's!

Had not eaten here in 3 or so years ago and decided to get food for our extended family this last weekend. Ordered: beef on a stick, egg rolls, pork fried rice, Kung Pao Chicken, Sweet and sour chicken, and Chicken Chop Suey. The food was terrible. Beef on a stick was so tough that we had to take it away from the kids because we thought it would choke them. My son in law apologized because he had asked that we get it but was unable to eat it. The pork fried rice was horrible and the peas and carrots looked like they were old and frostbitten. It was not fresh and tasted like it was made hours ago and reheated, There was no recognizable flavor in the Kung Pao Chicken in the sauce. Everything tasted like it was made last week. The sweet and sour chicken looked like it has been fried twice ( to warm it instead of fresh) as did the egg rolls. The meat inside the S and S chicken was dried and looked old. The Chop Suey looked so unappetizing only one tried it and the chicken was "rubbery". We ate some, no one had seconds and we decided to throw it all away. We never throw leftovers away. About 4 hours later we all starting having diarrhea which lasted about 24 hours. One in our party vomited the next day for hours. When we called the restaurant, instead of being worried and asking questions, they said it was not possibly due to the food and argued with me. STAY AWAY!! Food is terrible almost uneatable and we all got sick. Calling the health dept tomorrow!!!

Had beef with oyster sauce, steamed pork with mushrooms and the hot & sour soup at dinnertime. All were good, especially considering the price. Lunch specials look to be very well priced. Will be back to try those. Take out service was great, food was hot and ready in 10 minutes. Everything you'd expect is on the menu.

Mostly takeout bit there are a few tables. Runs hot & cold, sometimes the food is very good, others not so much. On my last visit the guy at the counter screwed up and had me waiting 15 minutes not realizing my order was sitting right there.

If you want a quick dish of Asian food with soup or eggroll for under seven dollars, then this is the place for you. I had kung pao chicken and my sister had the hot beef. Both were served over fried rice. I would've liked...

New to area, and of the four take out orders, filled 2 were wrong or missing food. So the Average rating should be less, but the food was good.

The amount of food you get is way worth the already reasonable prices; I always get at least 2 meals out of one. Food is yummy and decent quality. The establishment is clean and neat. I don't know why so many people are reporting bad customer service, the cashier is terse but polite, which tbh is what I expect at a Chinese take-out.

I personally think their vegetable low mein is some of the best I've had. And with a small order I get enough for two meals.

I order 2 combination lunches: one was shrimp with lobster sauce and white rice and got a lot of rice and two shrimp. The Shrimp with Mixed Vegetables was the same 2 shrimp and a lot of rice. Never going back there. Not worth it.

Friendly service.... Call in and it is ready when you get there. Good prices. Generous portions.... One meal was more than enough to feed two people. Great for take out when you don't want to cook.
