What can I say about Chego. It was great while it lasted. It's one of those places you know you will miss when it's gone & when it's gone, your left with a craving no one else can fill. This place was great I'm sad it is now gone and even sadder I didn't get one last pork belly bowl😢. I will be keeping up with your show (Broken Bread) & will soon make a trip to your restaurant in Las Vegas to hopefully fill this craving. Thanks Roi & staff for the great food.

We went here for a visit on a day trip to LA. It’s located near Chinatown in one of the plaza’s. So that makes parking a little hard so beware. My husband and I both got a rice bowl and the gooey fries. It’s a huge serving of food! I had to take half of mine Togo. My husband really enjoyed it but I thought mine was just okay. I also don’t like spicy food so maybe mine wasn’t as good since it wasn’t spicy. I wouldn’t go again with all the other options out there.

**** Officially closed ****AMAZING FOOD. Like nothing ive ever had anywhere else. Very unique cuisine. The mix of ingredients and flavors are to die for. I have a good orgasm every time. Followed by a food coma. My favorite dish is the pork belly but honestly everything here is super good. China town is lucky to have a restaurant as good as this. I read online that they will close at the end of April 2019. But I pray they will come back. Open up some where new. Come to city of industry. Service here is slow but the food makes up for everything. Food is worth the wait. It takes time to make food this good. Parking is not free but if your willing to walk there is plenty of parking 5-10min walk. The food is worth a bus ride, carpool, beg a friend to bring it back for you. Come before they close. God bless food establishments like this! Check u were the best. Open back up soon with a vengeance.

This place is what I would make when I’m super drunk and need food after a night of partying. Full of flavors!! They’ve got everything your fat persona may be craving. Don’t worry, vegetarians, they have seasonal charred vegetables on the menu too. Located in a central plaza in Chinatown, Chego is a creation of Roy Choy. I get stuffed each time I come here. Each plate is loaded with vegetables, meat, seasonings, fried bits of heaven-sent goodness and flavor. The boldness of the flavors keeps me coming back. Great spot to take a group of hungry people or to eat on your own. Parking is limited, find it along the streets.

A local to LA recommended this place if we didn’t have time to line up for Howl Inn chicken. It was Saturday, the line for Howl Inn was 1.5 hours. So thankful we tried Chego. The zucchini “salad” was unbelievable! Beetroot paste with sesame oil and fried shallots scattered on the top and Parmesan, with occasional bursts of chilli. Mexican flavouring also peppered through there. the meatball with polenta were sensational also. We are from Australia and would travel back here for the food ! Haha Do make sure you stop in here. A very fair, tasty, and quick alternative to the ludicrous Howlin Ray's right across from the outlet this is in. The menu is simple, but the food is good and the prices are fair. The most interesting thing about this place I would have to say is that the windows are all glass, so if you eat inside, more than likely you will spend 30 minutes eating and passively staring out the window as you watch people trudge through the massive, sluggish line in to Howlin Ray's. Interesting, new experience, and popular place. New taste, or mix of taste from Korean sause fusion with other tastes or sauces. I will say everything we had tasting pleasant, but not particularly good and a little too sweet. At the end of the day, I injected a high dosage of carb from the bowl of rice and the sugar hidden in it's sauce, etc. Not a place I die to go back to but suggest trying it out if you are in the neighborhood.

I was confused as to whether or not it was a permanent item or seasonal (paper menu and wall menu told different stories). They also carry an odd soda here called Bravo Kolashampan. It was... interesting, I can't put a finger on what flavor it was and the website of the company wasn't particularly helpful. The cap is a twist off by the way.

Located in Far East Plaza, you'll have to navigate past the hour-long line of Howlin' Ray's hot chicken. My friends and I decided to check out Chego, since we were in Chinatown, and we needed some food. We ordered a bunch of things amongst the four of us and it was more than enough food. Here's what we ordered: Kimchi Spam Bowl (fried rice with butter-fried kimchi, Spam, scrambled eggs and Chinese broccoli w/ a touch of toasted sesame) - this was really good at first. But it wasn't until after a while that I realized just how much kimchi there was. It was too much. It could have used less kimchi/Chinese broccoli and more rice. The more I ate it, the less I liked it. Chubby Pork Belly (kochujang-lacquered Kurobuta pork belly rice bowl w/ fried egg, pickled radishes, water spinach, Chinese broccoli, cotija and peanuts) - this was pretty good. The more I ate it, the more I liked it, the complete opposite of the spam bowl. The fried egg was a nice touch. 3 PM Meatballs (Korean-fried, w/ shaved green onions, sesame and fried polenta patty) - this was interesting. Instead of making the meatballs with breadcrumbs, they made it with polenta. I enjoyed it but some bites were super spicy, and I can usually handle spicy foods. Ooey Gooey Fries (beer-battered, w/ sour cream sambal, monterey jack and cheddar cheese, cotija, chillies, cilantro and pickled garlic) - these were great. But just like with anything fried, they were to much after a while. The sour cream sambal just tasted like spicy mayo. It was a nice place to try out, but I probably would not come back. Wouldn't mind trying that Howlin' Ray's though, but I definitely wouldn't want to wait on that line.

I'm going to preface this by saying that if you love spicy food (I mean SPICY) then Chego is for you. That said, I can only really eat so much of the menu. The portions are quite generous, which is always a plus. Here's what I've tried: Chubby Pork Belly - Unfortunately the pork belly was overdone, but the flavor was good. The Beefy T - The beef was great, but the chili fried rice was so spicy that it was pretty much inedible. All I tasted was heat, heat and more heat. If it was not as spicy, Chego would be my go-to in Far East Plaza. Ooey Gooey Fries - Pretty much the redeeming entree at Chego. Good heat, even better flavor. I'd recommend eating it on the spot, because if you take it to-go, the fries will be unbelievably rubbery. This is the sole reason why I'm giving Chego 4 stars instead of 3.

Wonderfully rich and flavorful food that's great for people who love a bit of spice. Highly recommend the Chubby Pork Belly and Sour Cream Hen House bowls. Expect a long wait during busy times and limited seating. The tables are in the plaza and it can get a bit breezy at times.

Chego offers some unique fusion eats in probably the hippest plaza in Chinatown right now. They have daily specials as well as combos to satisfy your needs. The portions are huge and I had my combo for lunch and dinner that day. The pork belly bowl was awesome and their sauce for the fries was crazy good. Definitely a place you should check out.

We were heading to the chicken wings next door, but it turned out to try this place. Pork belly tasted smoky and aromatic
