Business is closed and the equipment was auctioned off today.

A wonderful dining experience at Chicken Pantry. The staff was courteous, the menu was diverse, and the flavors were outstanding. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family.

Two other tables and the slowest service ever!!!! Don't waste your time, it took over an hour for breakfast!! Go anywhere else!

I used to eat there but they have been closed 4 times for roaches. No way.

The restaurant was empty. We walked in and stood around for a few minutes before anyone came out to seat us. They had no beer but they did offer to go next door and get some. I had a hot bacon spinach salad and added fried chicken on top. It was really good. Mom had a triple decker club sandwich, also really good. Dad wanted something, I forget what, but they were out so he had the meatloaf. There were people at two other tables when we came in. Nobody else came in by the time we left but our service was very slow and nowhere to be found when we needed something. The cake display had been pulled off the floor because it was broken. I asked if they were going out of business. The food was still really good despite the desolate feeling. PS. No, they are not going out of business.

This place failed their latest health inspection! Time to close this place and bring back Pizza Hut buffet!

There were 6 of us - have been here a couple of years ago many times with a group. This time was terrible — they were out of several menu items (didn’t even have Chicken Breast or Chicken Salad etc.) among other things. One order was completely wrong and weren’t able to get a waitress until others were almost done - only 3 tables occupied. They used to have great deserts in a case but today “none” were available. Sorry but this will be our last “30 mile” trip for a good meal as expected.

Honestly this was pretty gross. The fried chicken was hard and burnt. The rice I got with a side with gravy tasted like dishwater. There was literally only one girl serving and cooking and the other workers were just going in and out the back door. Their kids were running around in the kitchen and just yelling. I feel bad for the girl who was our serving because she looked really anxious. As bad as I feel this isn't a great place to dine. It's really gross..!

I ordered ahead and picked up 2 meat loaf dinners for my boss and I we were both more than pleased not only with how well everything tasted but the portionsize how it was packaged for take out and did I mention how great the food. Was it was great do recommend and will order again absolutely definitely a place worth checking out for sure

Good down home country cooking, friendly staff. Awesome grits!!! That review was years ago, I don't know what has happened, but things have really changed and not for the better. The last four or five times we have went there for breakfast there was at least one or two things wrong, ie burnt toast, cold hash browns, it was always something. This time it was everything !!!! They couldn't get anything right !!! Very disappointed in what has become of a place we once enjoyed so much. Hopefully they will get it together, but until then I will not recommend them to anyone !!!!!

This is a country kitchen. We have been coming here for years with no issues. Not sure why people have issues with their visits!? I have never had anything bad there. The waitress is always nice and if I have to wait, then I wait. I'm never in a hurry if I don't have to cook! If people would like faster service, go get fast food.

Service was not the best. We went for brunch, and the food took forever to come out. The atmosphere wasn't welcoming. It was gloomy and outdated. Don't think we'll be back.

Ordered a Buffalo chicken sandwich with French fries and Cole slaw at 1230pm. Received my order at 105pm. None of it looked good or tasted good. The side of ranch that it came with was actually mayonnaise. The waitress was very friendly and the table was clean. The complimentary corn bread was the most moist I’ve ever had and very delicious. My experience was bad enough that I wouldn’t try to eat here again.

Daily hours are not posted There is the days of the week but no open or close hours so after checking online and it saying open I attempted to open the door… not open! I’m not sure how a business can operate not opening during their hours or at least posting a not open today sign to let their customers know something. I sat outside waiting for 30 minutes in case they were just running late at 11 am for breakfast and watched 7 vehicles pull up and ask if they were open. Seems you have to be there in order to increase or at least continue the business. Definitely not a way to retain or build a successful business!

Wasn't great but wasn't terrible

Not sure what was going on. It was our first time visiting this place. Will probably not go back. Looks run down and has a very Unappetizing menu in black and white. The service? Well we waited about 2 minutes to get seated which is not bad but they were pretty empty everything went downhill after she brought us the drinks and then forgot about us. 10 minutes waiting while both employees were just chatting it up and then took 2 different customers payments and not even come to our table to take our order is just plain rude. The other server, older lady bringing out the food to other tables well, I told her if she could let the our server know we were ready and nothing happened. We walked out and the audacity of the younger girl with the dark hair to say thank you as we were walking out and just keep talking to our server. Thank you for wasting my time.

The service was awful, we waited about 20 minutes before anybody even spoke to us. My boyfriend ordered the Benedict Florentine, had to send back because the eggs were way over cooked. The hash browns were horrible, it was like they microwaved them. Will not being going back!!

Chicken tenders for chicken and waffles were over cooked and tough. Waitress never asked us how our food was anytime after we got it. 2 pieces of bacon for $3.95??? Server was impatient bc we didn’t know what we wanted right away. We had never been here. Home fries were awesome

Service was non existent. I had to go to the counter to ask for a refill and condiments. I was the only table in the place (should’ve been my first clue) chicken was pounded flat to make it look bigger but was overcooked and dry. This place is not what it used to be.

Food is not as good as when the original owner was there. Chicken was not crispy and tasty, fried squash was not dipped in egg and flour as it use to be. We will not return

The grits were lumpy. The crab salad was mushy. The fish scallops and shrimp not broiled. It was more like boiled. Every time I come to Florida I come here. I was very disappointed.

I got the grilled chicken , 2 pcs it looked like only 1 pc but the tiny one was hard dry and over cooked horribly , the other was tough ,dry and over cooked. burnt the service was pretty bad , we had the tiny little gal and she was never around finally came by, and I told her about the chicken and she was kinda snotty about it and said what do you want me to do about it, I said replace it ? without a word she turned and burned, no drink refill offered or anything. then about 10 minutes later, she came out with 1pc the place had really gone down hill last time I was there maybe 3mo ago, now its a total rip off. she ran by the table at the end and told me to come to register when we were done, not check or anything, then I check out and still no check , just a sign save 5% for cash , then she just throws out $44.46 I said is that the cash price ? i didnt see the check yet . she said hang on ,a couple minutes later she rerang it at 44.20 omg , i could not get a dinner check later thinking about it I looked at a price menu and realized the charged me again for a 1 pc grilled chicken dinner . only thing good here was the cornbread. we heard other people complaining about their chicken too .OMG its a chicken place , and cant even do chicken. fried green tomatoed were undercooked and very greasy

Dirty....it's not filthy but for a restaurant it's dirty. . . mediocre service. Soggy fries, could make better food at home. They had zero desserts and that's one reason I went. My chicken Slovakia was okay. My bfs ham club was okay, but tomatoes weren't cored.....lol....just stay in and make a sandwich. My neighbor said the fried chicken was awesome ....but idk if I can go back to try it ....

Chicken Pantry was on my go to liat and since we were in town we stopped for lunch. Unfortunately, the visit was a disappointment but had a lovely server. The chicken came out raw the first time and dry the second time, the mashed potatoes were cold and the gravy looked like hot fudge. Needless to say we do. It recommend Chicken Pantry. Sigh…

This place sucks. I don't understand why people think that this is good food. Yes my chicken was hot, but super greasy and rubbery. My fried okra was cold and mushy. Totally sucked. Mashed potatoes are instant. We're cold no butter. Gravy had to be from a can. Had a metallic taste to it. Corn bread was very granular and of course cold with no butter. My leg and thigh dinner was 15 dollars with no drink. I paid the bill and walked out, leaving my food behind. People please get a grip. This is no where near southern fried chicken. This place should be ashamed of themselves. Good luck. With this cluck.

This is the best place ever if you are looking for your grandmother's Sunday dinners! Fried chicken.. Mac and cheese.. The food was amazing and very very affordable.. Ever up this way stop in I promise you'll be back!

We drove from Palm Coast for breakfast. They advertise that they open at 8. They do NOT open at 8. Waste of a drive

Just plain good. Always satisfied no matter what we order. This time my wife’s chicken and waffles were “fantastic”. Prompted me to write this. Good size portions. I don’t like the tiny 6oz coffee mugs but they kept refilling so no biggie. The batter on fried chicken is perfect. Keep it up, Pantry!

I got the Steak and Eggs this morning. It was excellent. Lindas Omlette was great as well..

Like that the chicken isn't heavily coated in batter. Came out of the fryer to the table very hot -- the way it should be. The side dishes were good. Would have liked pepper vinegar for my greens, but hot sauce was there, so I was happy. Food came out in a reasonable time for getting freshly fried chicken. Prices were reasonable too. Lots of variety on the menu. As this was our first visit, had to try the fried chicken. Going to get seafood next time. Then try the pork. We'll be back.

The Chicken Pantry has wonderful home cooked type food. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. I've never had a bad experience here. Their chicken wings are my favorite, the best in Flagler County!

We stopped by for takeout, everyone was friendly and helpful, we ordered the 16 piece fried chicken meal, the chicken was delicious crispy skin and tender juicy chicken. Coleslaw was delicious, Mac and cheese had good flavor and my son loved it, I thought it was a bit dry. Definitely recommend the chicken

They're famous for juicy, hot, old-fashioned fried chicken and mile-high homemade pies, but don't let the name fool you. There are many other items on the menu... all good! On a recent blazing hot afternoon, I stopped in for a late lunch and ordered the Greek salad. While waiting, the server came by with a piece of fragrant, warm cornbread. Light, fluffy and slightly sweet, it was like eating dessert first. Just what I needed to take the edge off a long afternoon. When the salad arrived what a surprise. It was huge and brimming with fresh romaine, feta cheese, cukes, a variety of other crispy veggies and pepperoncinis. The plate came complete with two servings of Greek vinaigrette, four ample slices of pita bread and a little side tub of possibly the best Southern potato salad I have ever eaten. I couldn't finish it all in one sitting and boxed up the rest. As I left, I requested a take out cup for my iced tea (also wonderful) and was given a generous refill with a fresh slice of lemon. Very grateful for that kindness on such a hot day. For friendly service, ample portions and excellent value, you can't go wrong with the Chicken Pantry. Kudos to the cook and company!

Excellent down home cooking in a former commercial restaurant. Great surprises for the patron when food is served. The meatloaf lunch meal is outstanding. It is light and tasty with a sweet aftertaste. The omelet was stuffed with more meat than the meatloaf. The grits are excellent but I can't identify why. The cornbread was hot and fresh from the oven. The deserts were incredible. The chocolate bomb is light and tasty with multiple flavors. The Apple cobbler is baked fresh in a small dish. You must let the cobbler cool before eating or get a scoop of ice cream but I fear the ice cream would detract from the cobbler flavors. Service was slow but they appear to suffer staff shortages like most places. Say thank you and give them a bit of understanding. Once you eat you'll be happy for any wait time.

Had the meatloaf, grits and cole slaw. The meatloaf was tasty and light. Loved it, wrapped in bacon. Grits were great (I probably could have just buried my head in a larger bowl of those, seasoned just right and creamy). The apple crumble was ah-maaz-ing!!! Freshly made, piping hot, perfect balance of crumble to apples and the seasonings were spot on. Took 4 of us to eat it. Only two waitresses in the place, so service was a bit slow. However, they were working and given how hard it is to find reliable people to work...it is best to be understanding. Both of them were very pleasant, even with the load they had. Must try some other things there...so return trip is coming.

Once we were seated and after we ordered our food, we noticed the place was really dirty. The hanging light at our booth had cobwebs on it. The glass window looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time. My husband got “eggs Benedict “ one egg was like hard boiled and one was half hard boiled. The refill coffee pot looked like it had not been cleaned in a year. The server took our order gave us our food and did not return until my husband was almost done. The only reason I’m giving it a two star was because my waffle and chicken tenders were good, however we will not be returning and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Food came out quickly but home fries tasted frozen, and gross. There were tones of flies and the place was quiet dirty. The booth we sat at was dirty too. Waitress was nice but service was slow. I would only recommend this place to people who are looking for a quick breakfast that isn’t fast food

Conveniently located near the post office so I finally checked this restaurant out. Tara is a great server & helped me make my lunch selections. I also enjoyed the complimentary warm corn bread starter. Great homemade food & great service. Thank you.

Fried green tomatoes were so good and the chicken was crispy and juicy … hot and fresh everytime

Food is pretty decent, but the service was extremely slow...was there 1.75hrs just for a lunch...we weren't pressed for time or we would have left...almost think our waitress forgot to put in our order. Cornbread came right before food...had to go ask for silverware...so take that info and make your own decision on visiting

Don't let the giant chicken in front fool you, this is not a KFC this place has good food.

The service was absolutely horrible I sat there for 10 minutes before we were given menus. Keep in mind it was not busy whatsoever. I asked for a coffee and received two month expired half and half that left curdles in my coffee. Then for the dinner. What I received was actually good I had the chicken pecan salad. But the person I was with received an undercooked chicken slavaki wrap. It had a horrible taste and the chicken just felt like it had been warmed up. The fries were undercooked and bland. I am not a picky eater but what we received was horrendous. When we brought it up they said they would take it off the bill which did not happen. Anyway will not be dining there again.

Food was grear! Customers were loud at lunch time so hard to even hear each other at our table.. Server didn't appear too pleased to be serving.

This place had absolutely amazing food. But the worst service I've ever had in recent years. The server was almost rude, not friendly or personable. I asked for water with lemon, brought straight water NO lemon. I explained to her that it was our first visit to the restaurant, could we have a minute to decide what we wanted to order. She says, there's alot to look at and walks off. 10 minutes later she comes back to take our order. I asked how thick the chicken sandwiches were she said Thiick. So I ordered something else. We ordered an appetizer also. She brought the appetizer, then our entrées. Never asked how we liked the food, did we need anything else or anything for that matter. I caught her walking by to ask for a box, she never brought the box. AFTER waiting over 10 minutes and watching her watch TV and waving my arms like a mad woman at both her and the other waitress, I yelled at her to get her attention. I asked her once again for the box and our check! She finally brought the box and check, still never asked how we liked the food or anything! Just rude and not communicating. I paid the bill and left 0 tip. Trust me I used to be a server and I always tip! But to be in a restaurant with only 5 tables of customers, with 2 servers and get this kind of service was disturbing. And on top of it, it cost $40.00 for lunch for 2 people with no extra drinks or desserts! I don't mind the high prices if I get the service that those prices or for that matter any price point should be expected. This place needs some good servers!

Chicken was good. Waitress was nice but could have been more attentive. Plan to wait a little if ordering chicken.

After years of coming here and enjoying breakfast and lunch, I have had my last "meal" here this past Sunday. To start, I have never cleaned a dirty coffee mug as filthy as the one I was served. Menu says mixed berry butter, no longer serving that. Syrup in a plastic to go container like McDonalds dipping sauces. Soggy waffle, over cooked Chicken- liked chewed and chewed and chewed overcooked, Eggs were cooked in some kind of grease or oil. All left a film in our mouths. The plaza sign says "icken Pantry", having lost the C, I now consider it an omen. It is sad. A couple of the waitresses are lovely and deserve to serve better food than this. Owners: pay attention : IT WAS DISGUSTING. I prefer to eat at local places, but no longer this one.

I use to love Chicken Pantry. But lately eveything is overly salty or not seasoned at all. But why I'm leaving the review today is because they served me expired chicken gizzards. The gizzards smelt absolutely sour. But I dared to taste one, and yes they were sour. I told another server this. My original server never came back over after she gave us our food originally. The other server apologized and took it off my bill. But she told me they would get me a cheesecake and comp it. But they did not. And not even a discount off my bill at all. My family and I will no longer be coming back. Serving me expired, rotten chicken and not comping my $7 cheesecake cost them their $10 tip.

One of my favorite places to go for some southern comfort food. Never been disappointed with anything I’ve tried so far! The fried chicken is always amazing and I always have to get a dessert.

Greasy smell upon entry...Dirty place..Restroom no soap or T.p...floor boards under booths need to be painted...or something. Food was awful hash browns not cooked enuf..eggs r flat(r u using water?) Grits were GREAT

We are new to the area, so we have been making our rounds. This place is a little gem! Both my husband and myself had chicken and it was great! The cornbread was delicious and the sides were fresh and also yummy! Our server was very friendly and very efficient. We will definitely be back!!

Waitress was terrible, Bad attitude & very slow . Got order wrong . I was told she is owner but I’m not sure . And they were out of several things . Coke was flat . But she just had bad excuses.

The chicken we had ordered was very good it was actually better when it was cold the potato salad was actually very good but the macaroni salad do without not was what I thought it would be the iced tea on the other hand that I'll go back for more and the same goes for the chicken and their cornbread was pretty good

First review for me. If I could give the food a 0, I would! Mashed potatoes were cold and lumpy. Gravy looked artificial and cold. Worst fried chicken ever. Tasted like it was fried in week old oil. No seasoning or coating like you find in fried chicken. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! My husband ordered chicken pot pie, they were out. This was at 1:30 on Sunday!!! His Mac and Cheese tasted like it was days old and cold.

1st time in Florida and this place makes the best pecan chicken and waffles for breakfast omg it was soo great

Food was good although the sunny side up eggs looked like they'd been cooked in old butter cause they were brown. The waitress was nice. The bathroom was so disgusting, toilet looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. The paper menu is so old and diggy looking and the utensils were a little spotted. The OJ was very warm and bland as if it were sugar free. The food taste was good overall but I won't ever go back, it was just too dirty for me, I got grossed out by the bathroom and toilet. Just cause it's in the hood of Bunnell doesn't mean it should look it. First and last time for me.

Chicken had no flavor, publix chicken is way better. Place was dirty and it smelled like they haven't changed the frying oil.

Morning service very slow. No cook apparently and one of the waitresses was cooking? Just two booths including ours and took better than 15min to serve our order. Obvious that no prep until just at open. Help Wanted For Kitchen sign in window. That is for sure needed! Please somebody with some cooking skills apply!!

Food was good. The service is much better now that they have help. I did have to go ask for a coffee refill but no harm as the server was fairly new. She refilled our cups with a smile and an apology. We will be coming back soon.

Excellent place for fried food. Haven't tried other items yet but I'm sure they're just as good. I ordered gizzards, friend shrimp, fried chicken and we all shared it. Will definitely be back and you can tell the locals love this spot as it was packed the whole time we were there.

Service was horrible . Stood at front for 15 minutes. Hostess/cashier standing right there never said a word. Finally sat our selves for almost another 10 minutes. 3 waitresses on duty kept walking by. Finally stopped one(long brown hair) and said are u our waitress she said no and kept walking. Finally said is that our waitress sitting across room sitting in Booth(short dark hair) talking to what seemed to be a salesman insurance man etc. She said yes and just walked awaiy.. Finally waitress(blonde pony tail) heard us & went and told server we were her party. After she finished her conversation she Finally came over and took our order. Never came back to check on us or offer refill which we needed. And to answer your next question it wasn't busy only 4 tables were occupied. I will say food was good . (Fried chicken) but lost 30 minutes of our lunch to un professional staff... I've heard it had gone downhill. It's a shame they were right when the food is still good. But obviously ad staff. By the way I still tipped over 20% . But probably won't be back I'm sorry to say.

It wasn’t bad, not great but not bad. Service was ok and coffee was good. Cheap breakfast. Outdated and all pets welcome. I’m not a fan of non-dogs in restaurants. Pic doesn’t show dogs but they were there

Only had onion rings and my friend's Cole slaw he didn't eat. The ORs were very good with honey-mustard and I remembered how great the slaw was the previous visit, so they weren't getting left behind. 🙃😋

Fried chicken is the best, they cook it to order and it is worth the wait. The sides were not hot, came out lukewarm and that is not how I eat my food. The service is great.

I used to LOVE THE CHICKEN! It has Pretty Tiny Pieces nowadays, but it is still Delicious. The Service is lacking also... Sorry but it's lost my vote for a 5 star.

Ordered a burger and fries to go. After 40 minutes i finally got it. Fries were soggy and burger tasted like a pound of salt was poured on it. I threw it out the window on 100!!

Probably the best fried chicken I've had since I came to live in the United States. The corn bread was steaming and delicious with soft butter on the side. Will definitely be back , many interesting options on the menu.

Fried chicken is cooked to order while you munch on homemade sweet cornbread and fried pickles. Yum! Sides are good, especially the mac 'n cheese and pickled beets. I didn't care for the greens which seemed way overcooked and flavorless. Service was very good. Thanks!

I hear so many people talk well about this place but I'm going to be fair and tell the truth. First off, the waitress did well... have no complaints about her. Meal started off wrong with a funky tasting sweet tea (that funky taste when the container isn't cleaned properly). Replaced it with a fountain coke and it was fine. Next was complimentary cornbread and it was good. Ordered a medium rare burger and got a very well done burger. When I bit into it, I was shocked at the amount of seasoned bread crumbs! (Got a take out box and took it home for dogs). For $11, the ratio should be way less bread crumbs. I will most likely not go back to this restaurant. Total bill was $30 and neither of us could choke down the whole meal. Dogs did love it though.

Great place n food n wait staff

Ordered food to go. It was ready when I arrived. The food was decent overall, but nothing like it was many years ago. I do recommend the chef salad as it seemed to be the star of tonight's meal. Fried Chicken was ok, but it was made 30 minutes before we could eat it, so it likely would have been better fresh. The chopped Angus was good, but the gravy seemed like it was instant which was a disappointment.
