Every time we come here the food is spot on! Service is always home town friendly and the food is consistently delicious. If the cook ever quits I’ll die lol If you want an awesome meal this is the place to get it!

Considering the location, the food is actually quite good. The wings are cooked to perfection. The pizza is not special, but it's cheap and cheesy, midwestern style. The only drawback is they have a very limited selection of alcohol. Didn't even have dark beers.

All the staff is kind and the food is alway good. Every time we stop in we have the same consistent experience.

The food and the service were amazing! We had the Wally Fish dinner. It was very busy due to the 4th of July weekend, however our waitress was awesome!

This is our favorite up here in the West Branch area. Awesome food, great prices, a very nice up north atmosphere, and especially fantastic owners and staff. Occasionally they have special events including live music or comedy

This place is not just another up north bar and grill next to a lake. The menu is more like your high quality restaurant type. The dishes are all excellent from Pizza to Burgers thru Prime Rib and Seafood!. My favorites- Turkey club and of course chicken wings. Service is outstanding, even when @ full capacity! Prices are very reasonable. They have lots of events throughout the year, live music etc etc. Best part - it’s ORV AND SNOWMOBILE FRIENDLY !

We come to the area every year for an off-roading trip. We come here each night we’re here and are never disappointed by the exceptional food, service, and environment! The owner Bob is so nice and friendly and clearly passionate about what he does. Hunter is a great waitress and always takes really good care of us. We always look forward to coming here, must-visit if you’re in the area!

Prices on this site are way lower than the prices on the menu when we were there for our Anniversary on 12-28-23 but the food and wait staff were great … definitely worth a meal … and we will come back.

Very LOUD! You expected this because they serve alcohol.Food was so so. Chicken tenders were not.... pizza was average.

There were a lot of people in the bar because of deer hunting, so our meal took a while to come, but the wait staff kept us informed. The pizza ordered was great and the other meals, except one, it was in the deep fried to long. The atmosphere was great.

Best pizza in clear lake! 😉 But in all seriousness, I’ve never had a bad meal from here and the staff is absolutely phenomenal. Even if you’re not a local, they still have a way of making you feel like you are. It’s become a tradition to stop at least once every time we come in! Edit- This is no longer the same CLB we once knew and loved. Stopped in on a Sunday night at 8:30pm to an almost empty bar and was told by our waitress “pizzas and grinders only” which was a disappointment. Same thing happened last time we stopped in and we ended up splitting a pizza and left unsatisfied as the pizza didn’t have the same impact it once had. I was surprised to see how empty the bar was but left fully understanding why. Give the people what they want or they’ll find it elsewhere. We stay in clear lake frequently but we’ll be making the drive to St. Helen in search of better food.

Great little place. Our service was good and so was food. Our alcoholic drinks not very good. I asked for a Capt. and diet Coke. I don't know what the heck it was but it was not what I asked for. My husband gor the wrong beer also.

Wonderful food, the staff is friendly and helpful. The chili tastes incredible, and the pizza is beyond fantastic. Good beers on tap too. Great local bar to grab dinner at when upnorth

Waited a long time to get some cold food. Server overwhelmed with 6 people.

I was there on July 15th and had the worst experience, horrible experience, food was cold, forgot our soup, messed up both dinners, catcup bottle exploded all over my clothes, my hair, the table behind us, the floor, no compassion from the staff or management, left there with sticky hair and stained clothes and paid $75 for dinner that I didn't get and the restaurant still hasn't acknowledged me, I am in the service industry and I could never treat my customers this way

Crystal Lake Bar, a classic! Great place to eat or sip a beer. Vacation crowd mixed with local patrons ready to tell a tall story.

Amazing food with awesome wait staff, a staple to visit if you go Up North!

The CLB as the locals refer to it has recently (last two years) has changed hands making it a more modern establishment and not the local bar with memories of its local patrons on the bar. Does this make the place less of an attraction, not in my opinion, but it did change the vibe. The owners work there, which brings a level of customer service that is needed, IMO, so that it will stay a local friendly bar. The food that I ate there was very good bar far as well. The CLB does not have much competition, and any place wanting to establish itself will find it hard to compete with them.

Clear Lake Bar is a short drive north of West Branch MI and is worth checking out. It has good food, fast service and reasonable prices. Burgers are great, pizza is popular and specials include steak, prime rib, walleye and more. The CLB is frequented by locals, vacationers, hunters, bikers, snowmobilers and has an up north feel.

Very good experience. 6 in oue party. All had good comments on their meal. Good line up of beer on tap. Will return.

Had a group of 20 here a week ago and everything was phenomenal. The owners Bob and Brent are good, down to earth people who make sure everybody is enjoying themselves. Our server hunter was excellent per usual as we come back to clear lake bar at least once per year. The food is always great and the beer is always cold. The staff is very friendly and is exceptional at what they do. Highly recommend this place to eat/drink.

The wonderful employees who own and run this bar are HUSTLERS. They are friendly and work their butts off. The prices are good. The food is delicious. Great up north staple. A must eat at.

I use to come here throughout my childhood and I try to come back whenever I’m in the area. The place has new owners apparently and I found the food wasn’t as good as before, they don’t have many food options either and the beer options were slim. They were out of stuff too when we visited on a Saturday morning. It’s a staple though so I’ll be back.

Food was ok, expensive but it is what it is. What upset about is our lady serving us took all of our change when we paid bill. Assuming that was her tip. Classless. Older lady was very rude to my wife. Chrissey was our server. Thanks

We had a large group from Houghton Lake of 15 on a busy Tuesday night for drinks and dinner. Thank goodness we had Hunter as our waitress, she took the bull by the horns and made our night the best we could of hoped for. Thanks again Hunter for the great service, you are amazing❤️

Service is exceptional!! A+ service. Food is decent. Good fish, good burgers. Great beer. Only downside is that it is very loud in the bar. You have to yell back and forth at the table to be heard. That said, would definitely recommend as long as you are good with noise level. It may be different during week. Went on a Friday night.

A little gem tucked away by Clear Lake. The food is very good & affordable. The waitstaff is polite & fun. They offer 34oz beer! The 1/2 Italian hoagie grinder is huge and very tasty.

They give very large portions, and the food is very good!

Wow, for a place that looks so small and its somewhat in the country, it is AMAZING!! I can't get over how great their food is. We ordered a variety: nachos, burger, Macc and cheese and a small pepperoni and cheese pizza. We are very picky and we had no complaints about anything. The pizza sauce tasted homemade and all the portions were huge and the prices were very low.

Beef stroganoff was excellent. Noodles were perfectly al dente, the sauce was creamy and the cubed beef plentiful.

So glad they have the hot (spicy) cheese balls that we'll go there just for those!!! Very good. Could be cleaner or brighter inside. Just seemed so sad in there. Otherwise, good bar food for sure.

My family and I had enjoyed the bar for many years. Now not so much. The menu is very limited from what it used to be. Now the menu is more like fast food rather than the great variety it once had. The waitresses are great but the food takes forever. I have been there twice in September and in August 2021 and both times there was an issue with our order. Both times requiring one of our guest to eat alone after waiting for their meal to be re-made. The bar once had the vibe of rustic dive bar with vintage photos and taxidermy. All the character is gone replaced with a stripped down boring atmosphere of cheap beer mirrors. The pool table which was always fun now shares a cramped space with a boutique hawking CLB clothing. Things change and covid I am sure has had an impact but I personally miss the old Clear Lake Bar.

This was a great little discovery. The beer was cold, the food hot and the bar was nice and clean. The many craft bears on tap was great. It's a bit pricey for our pocketbook, but too each his own. We will be back for beer again.

Always a must visit when I'm up north.
