Breakfast with alligators! Everything is good, but I suggest the beignets and cafe au lait. It was the perfect reststop between Houston and Biloxi. We stopped going to and coming from Biloxi! I enjoyed the shopping too. 😆

Stumbled across this place, service was excellent. The coffee dark roast was fantastic. For lunch we had the gumbo with chicken and andouille. The hamburger was cooked to perfection and for dessert we had the raspberry filled beignets

Loved the beignet's and the atmosphere was so fun. Totally worth stopping in on my trip.

Menus are not accurate. They only serve beignets not lunch or breakfast.

Glad we found this spot for breakfast today. Everything was delicious. I’m from Texas and went to New Orleans and was disappointed I didn’t find tasty beignets. Thankfully, I was able to have the best beignets I’ve ever had here at the coffee house! P.s the cashier/server this morning with black hair deserves a raise! As busy at it was today, the service was very efficient!! Also, it was a nice little adventure to be able to see some live gators in the pond 🐊

My 3 yr old found a hair in her beignets today! I called myself trying to be discreet by whispering and maybe just asking for another batch but because I misspoke about the COLOR of the thread of hair I was met with rudeness. Clerk responded with “we don’t have anybody here with blonde hair” Had the response been different and way more sympathetic, I probably wouldn’t even be typing this review. Kids should not be allowed to handle restaurant issues/mishaps. Regardless of what the actual color of the ashy strain of hair was, common sense would tell a person it didn’t belong to me or my family who are full blooded African Americans with kinky curly brown hair. We certainly didn’t carry an ashy straight piece of hair to a beignet establishment to let my 3 yr old get to it if that was the thought. Absolutely disheartening to have been treated this way in an establishment we frequent with family. We won’t be back or referring my out of town guest to this place anymore.

Cute, cute, cute! And the food was SOOOOO GOOD! I had French toast and let me tell ya... SUPER DELICIOUS, HOMEMADE AND FILLING! Perfect way to start your morning 😉

The food and service is good. I love the atmosphere.... BUT the building is falling apart. The floors are weak and the ceiling is buckling. There's an entire wall inside, that is leaning. I like coming here but I fear that if these things aren't fixed that it will eventually collapse and all of the history inside those walls will only be a distant memory for those who had the chance to stop by.

Absolutely loved it! Kids enjoyed their beignets' fingers, and I loved their cinaminon roll & the frozen cafe au lait was incredible!

Nice and quaint little restaurant with delicious food and great service!

One popular place for locals and visitors. The historic look adds to the feeling of Cajun country. Food was great and you can shop for souvenirs, jerky, and various local specialties. While also see wildlife alligators, and birds etc. Worth taking a break from traveling.

This place is so unique and is a must try on your travel list for breakfast, super cool vintage and historical buildings and the food is great!

Service is horrible, workers are rude and disrespectful. Wanna charge you when they get your food wrong and will not fix it!

I love the beignets. IMO they are better than Cafe DuMonde. Always fun to check out the stores too in the Cajun Village.

A go-to breakfast and beignet shop for locals. Go for the food, stay for the sights and atmosphere. Many tourists enjoy viewing the live alligators on site.

I had the red beans and rice w/ sausage. There was absolutely no flavor, not even a hint of salt.

We we had more time for a meal. Our first stop after flying in and needed some coffee. We bumped into this spot and it was perfect. They have a iced coffee that was incredible! Service was super friendly. Food looked incredible but we already had plans for lunch. Hopefully we will be back soon.

I had a fully dressed cheeseburger with fries. That patty was perfectly seasoned, and the food was overall, very well prepared. I recommend their jelly stuffed beignets as well to cure your sweet tooth. Awesome service, awesome food. I will be visiting again, soon!!!

A very nostalgic atmosphere, some people might not like old stuff but I like seeing how things changed over time to get us to where we are. Went a little close to closing so they only had begneits at the time, but they are always great for a quick snack

The filled beignets are to die for as well as their hamburgers.

Old building repurposed into a cafe/restuarant. It's very warm at the entrance, order counter. However, the dining area is adequately cooled. Food is mediocre, no service other than the initial food being brought out to the table. Our order was missing beignets, so we asked the server about it when our entrée arrived. She said it's not her station.... 40 minutes later, we had to go and ask if it was being made. Touristy at best.

Nice enough place in an old house popular with locals. Kind service and workers. Food is good. Pleasant brunch ambiance. Quirky little gravel neighborhood with Louisiana and Cajun stores.

Great coffee, friendly staff and we had on order of the beignet fingers. They offer to go and seat in. Highly recommended and the shops surrounding are also nice!

Had lunch here between tours. Juicy, tasty food - best beignets so far on our trip. Short on staff and still did wonders. Cool rustic atmosphere and a zillion coffee pots/makers of all makes and ages. A surprise great experience for the day.

Best breakfast ever! Everything was perfect. The food came out fast and hot. The biscuit was buttery perfection. The cafe an lait was great-flavored coffee, and we’re getting another to go! We had to kill time before our plantation tour and we’re so glad we found this place. Can’t say enough good things!

It is hard to locate the restaurant, directions are not clear. We enjoyed the food despite the long wait and short staff. The entire Cajun Village is a fun pit stop with the restaurant and the boutique shops.

Breakfast at Coffee House is always so good...first time I ever did lunch there, and I had a burger...it was unflavored, as in no taste of goodness. It needed some TLC.

Had the shrimp etouffee omelette, and you can bet I will be back!

14 dollar meal . Seems like it was just thrown together . 3 shrimp 2 eggs and no taste omlet . I was so disappointed . Maybe I should have just tried the toast bread .

We all understand business are short staffed. But to watch 3 people working and walk by you several times for 5 minutes. Would it kill someone to acknowledge the customer and let them know they will be with you shortly.

It is as always awesome service and I love going there when I want beignets

Yum, yum & yum......! Beignets are better than Cafe du Monde (sorry!), the Iced Cafe au lait is really good & the service is great. We stopped twice during our stay & can't wait to come back. Highly recommend stopping for a bite to eat, then walking over to the shops in Cajun Village......

Every time I'm back home, I make sure to stop here! Wonderful cafe au lait and beignets without going into the city. And the all the eclectic shops in the parking area, I always find a little something to bring home. Take your time and look at everything!

I loved this place!!! I literally can't wait to come back. The service was good and the food was to die for. The beignet fingers are addicting and the red beans and rice were authentic. The restaurant was beautiful inside and out. We loved watching the fish in the pond outside the window. All around a great experience!

Always have great experiences here! The food is wonderful, the people are great, tons of goodies to buy. You can't forget Big Boy and Nubby the resident alligators.

The Beignets were good. The gift shops were cool. They were very busy on Labor Day.

I absolutely love this place. My family and I had been here 4 yrs ago and could wait to go back. We were even planning a trip just to go eat there. And their beignets are so delicious!

Excellent home cooked style breakfast with cool little gift shop and antique shop. Favorite local breakfast spot. And around back of the compound there's a couple gators that are pretty cool to check out while you're there.

Amanda is great. She takes my order and already knows what I want. She is a very positive person and makes you feel welcome when you walk in the door.

The restaurant feels like maw maw's old house. The beignets are very good and they have them in smaller sizes. The gift shop has many things that are hard to find anywhere else. They do have stainless utensils and cast iron pots.

WOW. Don’t go to Cafe DuMont, go here!! Their beignets are way better! We are so happy we found this local place as the breakfast is amazing, and the atmosphere is so homey!

Change your hours to reflect correct times. Drove 1.5 hours just to be told y’all closed 2 hours early.

The food was delicious! We were driving along River Road from New Orleans. This was a great stopping point. Unique atmosphere and something for even our hard-to-please daughter.

Good food. Decent service. But brought my service dog in with me and got asked all kinds of questions. Asked to show proof of identification for the service dog. Under ADA and Louisiana law a public accommodation may not ask you questions about your disability or demand to see certification, identification, or other proof of your animals training or status.

We stopped by this shop taking back roads on the way back from New Orleans. It was so adorable! I felt like I was straight up in Fried Green Tomatoes. I have been thinking about this place and wanting to return but had no idea the name or location and I'm so happy that I finally found it 🙂

We had an omlet, and breakfast plate and of course beignets! Everything was delicious, the restaurant was clean and charming and friendly staff!

They have a really good breakfast and the biegnets are very good. They are very busy on weekends but still managed to get my order in a reasonable time.

I love this place. We stop here for breakfast every time we come back to Louisiana to visit family. It’s a great place for kids/families. Food is excellent, staff is excellent, coffee is amazing.

We ate breakfast at the Coffee House in Sorrento today. The dark coffee was fresh and strong! While the food was outstanding. We had old fashioned western omelets, crispy hash browns, and a sweet potato pancake that were absolutely phenomenal!

Such a cute little place. Staff was so nice, place was clean, didn't have anything wrong with any of it.

Came here off the rec of a Louisianan, mostly cause they had beignets. I ordered four - two peach, one apple, and one raspberry (the filled beignets come in orders of two but you can request two different fillings). All were very good, though they took a little while to come out and I doubt the fillings were homemade. Pretty cheap, though - $3.75 for two filled. Service is nice but slow about cleaning tables, so expect to eat at a dirty one. Location is ideal for those getting on I-10 out of Gonzales. Would definitely nix the hotel continental to stop by here again. P.S. I’d definitely recommend getting more tart flavors for the filled beignets. They’re basically donuts with powdered sugar instead of glaze, and the sweetness of the bread is better complimented by tarter fillings like raspberry, cherry, and so on. Only reason why I didn’t grab their cherry filling is because they were out of it. The peach filling is surprisingly good for a non-tart option, though!

Fabulous stuffed begniets. I had Bavarian cream, but they have fruit fillings, too! Delicious! Awesome cajun village with various shops and 2 alligators. Great breakfast stop when you have out-of-town guests! Highly recommend!
