We stopped for dinner after reading the reviews, and we were not disappointed! The food was wonderful & the service was excellent. The club sandwich & the pork loin dinner were delicious. This little diner is a perfect place to enjoy a great meal in an unpretentious atmosphere.

Went here today for lunch with my 1 year old, sister and grandma and the special was great, soup was great , FRIED OREOS amazing , and our server Michael did amazing . Even got the baby her food right away to keep her busy . 10/10 recommend eating here , I don’t usually write reviews but this place has so much to choose from and great service .

Great food, great service. I'm 200 pounds overweight since I found this place. I'm so far my wife left me, I sat on my cat and killed it, 😭 my kids hate me because I can't play outside with them anymore. I lost my job as a professional basketball player and I have no friends because I eat all the food at parties. Totally worth it though. Thanks Conlay's. "Now where did that chicken strip go? Had dinner with the family there. The staff was very sweet and was johnny on the spot. Food was delicious! We'll definitely be going back.

Absolutely worth taking the back roads and avoiding the freeway. I stopped in on my way by and ordered a farmers omelet, I ordered, ate, and was out the door in under 25 minutes, and it was so delicious.

Walked in and the first impression was the aesthetic was really horrible and it was incredibly loud (obviously not the staff's fault). Sat down and a friendly, approachable server immediately handed us menus and asked us what we wanted for drinks. The drinks were out quickly and she gave us just enough time to look over the menus and make a decision, but not too much time to the point it's irritating and then returned to take our order. Food was out quickly. Some foods were really good, some horrible. Also worth noting that the menu is nothing special, most of the foods being bland, something you'd see at any restaurant, uncreative, ect. There was also no kids menu and the portions were pretty large. Very good prices though :)

Stopped at Conlays on our way home from Traverse City and they did not disappoint. The service, atmosphere, people, decor and especially the food impressed us. We don't come this way often, but will definitely be remembering to stop here when we do.

Best food in town! Fast, Friendly and food made to order. Don't leave without trying a peaice of there homemade pie. 10/10 small town vibes with home made cooking. And the staff is good looking 👍 😋 kid friendly. Big menu something for everyone. Wish I lived closer so I could come back more often.

I worked at Conlays Cafe for more then 3 years. I was the main night time server and I just had the most unprofessional experience of my life. I was made aware that pay was going to be cut in half by a host who works there as well during a shift one afternoon and was completely taken back as I was never told any of this by our boss. The next day at work in passing if front of everyone my boss told me what was going to happen. I then asked to have a conversation with her in private. I told her she had to do what she had to do for her business but that I couldn't afford this pay cut (I have 2 younger children at home) and so couldn't work there if this was what they were going to do. I asked if she could leave the schedule as it was for two more weeks so I could find a new place of employment and they would have more time to replace my position. Feeling like I hadn't asked for much after putting in 3 years of hard work, Jess denied my request. So i told her i wouldnt be staying and i felt i deserved a proper conversation about the plans she had made as this effects my time and money dramatically. Then when we returned into the building and I was on the floor with customers she yelled through the food serving window that I was incredibly selfish for leaving I explained that I asked her for more time and she had declined. She then attacked my work stating that I was doing a poor job i told her that that would also in my opinion deserve a conversation. Completely disheartened by the whole situation. Beyond that I've had Jamie call me while I was on the floor to remind me that I am replaceable while criticizing my work. Another employee had been called to go to their house where Jamie had yelled at him and threw a cup at him. Very unpleasant people to work for and unprofessional to say the least. Very tense and hostle work environment. This is just a few of the many incidents that me and many others have experience over the last 3 years i had worked for this restaurant. Will miss my regulars very much.

The food is great. The service this is phenomenal. The most family friendly environment for employees that I've ever seen. For the most part, everyone that works there works together to help each other out as much as they can. The owners, Jess and Jamie do as much as they can to cater to their employees as well as cater to their customers. From customizing schedules to employee preferences, popsicles and a multitude of fans to try and combat the heat, helping any employee who needs it and treating each person with the same respect and dignity regardless of any circumstances. To custom pies upon customer request, generous portions, competitive prices and weekly specials selected to satisfy a variety of tastes. It's disappointing to see dishonest reviews, only intended to hurt and pain this business in negative lighting. Bad mouthing a business with lies won't get far when this place has more than enough honest reviews to stand on its own. Paired with plenty of customers who's satisfaction with this business was earned by the fabulous staff and delicious food. I honestly believe this place has nowhere to go but up! 🤩

One of the worst places to go, the way they treat there employees is horrible. And the foods not that great for the way they treat there employees. I was eating in there the other day and the manager was very unprofessional and was screaming and being extremely rude to one of the employees through the cook window. The worker tried to be professional and tell her could they do this somewhere else but she refused. I will never eat here again. And I would recommend for anyone that has respect for human decency and the way employees should be treated to not eat there again that is why I’m posting my review on here. But every person is different so you can make your own opinion off them.

Friendly staff, even during the busy time of the day, great fish and steak on Fridays.

Visiting from down state and we were.pleasws with the smaller, clean, friendly atmosphere. I had the beef and noodles dinner special, it was easily enough for two meals with a great price, and very delicious. Daughter had a BLT and it had more than enough bacon. The homemade pie was decent, too. We would easily return of we were in the area again and definitely would refer to others.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND eating here for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Great food, with excellent prices, awesome specials, good portions and friendly wait staff. Not a lot of seating so make sure to get there at the right time as to get a seat. Sorry about the photos we were hungry and started eating, 😆 but that is how you know it is good.

The server is very efficient. She was by herself . The place is clean. The only issue we had was that the booth seats are uncomfortable. Other than that I would recommend this place .

If you love small town di ers, this one is a jem, the food and service were both great! Prices reasonable and portions generous, you won't leave broke or hungry!

Best breakfast in a very long time. Homemade toast, crispy American fries, crispy sausage and poached eggs.Great Philly cheese steak omelette. Got seated right away and food came out hot and quick.

Bad sad 😔.I usually don't write reveiws.This reveiw is my personal exp.I love the food especially fish night.I got to restraunt pre-ordered all fish you can eat,waiting for ,the other party to get there.He had just came back from az.So we met to have dinner.He ask for box to go for himself,I was still eating,ask for more fish was denied because,other paying customer asked for box to go.He could not finish due to his surgery.So we drove 2 separate vehicles,left in 2 different vehicles.So our exp,was not well taken.Not a happy customer.we use to be regular patrons.I live in this community.This may be you're regulation but think about how other customer feel when still eating.i boxed salad ,we left.Hopefully next exp.is as good as last few years.If not .I won't be back.Locals were treated excellent.we felt like we were treated as outsiders/cast.All the other customers were treated well.2 dinners for two,treated poorly.Thank you.

Friday fish frys was very tasty! Reasonably priced and the 3 employees on the floor never stopped! When they were talking it was either on the phone taking orders or to customers. No down time.

Came for the First Friday Prime Rib. Flavor was very good. It was a little dry and slightly overcooked for my taste. I prefer Medium Rare but it was Medium Well.

We have been in a few times over the years when we are in the area. The service is always great and the food is the best in the area. The staff is always kind to everyone and isn’t judgmental. We will continue to support this restaurant.

I eat here often, I would recommend this place to anyone 😋 great prices too.

Went for fish Friday and it was fantastic! Service was excellent and food was delicious. Prices are average for all restaurants. People need to realize that the days of a $20 check are gone! Most restaurants are in the $30 - $35 minimum. Conleys is a great restaurant! We’ll be back!

My wife and I both love this restaurant... the owners and staff are so nice. It's a wonderful family owed business... the food is incredible...I can't say enough nice things about this place.

Whether they're busy or not, the food is always good and the staff is always nice.

I'm so disappointed to have to leave this review. Been coming here since it was Kay's. Being a small town, was rooting for Conlay and kept coming. I even advertise my small business on their placemats. However I just had the worst experience I've ever had there or any restaurant for that matter. We had a male waiter, 20 something probably. It's Saturday so pretty steady, we order our drinks, small delay in getting them but understandable. We were ready with the order, I order bacon, eggs and American fries well done because I don't like flubbery bacon and I like a crisp on both. Was hoping for gluten free toast but they dont have it, okay. When the food shows up, potatoes look good and bacon isn't what I was hoping for regarding doneness. So I ask our waiter if he can have it put back on for a little longer and he says I'll just have the bacon remade. Ok, fine. Thinking he forgot as we were done eating and bacon hadn't showed up. So I say it's fine, were ready to go no bacon required. Im watching him run around the room trying to figure out when im going to get my bill, and he brings bacon! At this point we're really ready to go. We wait and wait, finally he walks by, but doesn't stop and I yell can I have a carryout for the bacon and a check please. Get the carryout box and still no check. So we wait, finally I get up and walk to the register because I'm done waiting. I get the bill at the counter and see it seems high, he had charged me for an additional side of bacon! I was irritated and said something. Instead of saying, let me take care of that for you, he gets confrontational and says the bacon he originally brought was well and the new bacon is just burnt and I should have to pay extra for extra bacon. I was honestly flabbergasted, not to mention my 11 year old is experiencing this with me. He is willing to lose a customers over how they like their bacon...not burnt btw, just crispy. This is really unfortunate because like I said, we own a customer based small business also and I would ALWAYS reccomend Conlays. Needless to say I left the bacon on the counter and a 20% tip. Maybe he will learn something. Sorry Conlays.

The people are nice and the place is small & clean. It looks nice. But the food :/ I do not recommend. I got biscuits and gravy no seasoning. The biscuits tasted like butter. Like kfc biscuits almost. My sister got hashbrowns and they had no flavor at all. The hashbrowns also werent brown cooked still very white. We got a half order of biscuits and gravy & American fries. Then American omelet with hashbrown and American fries with 2 pops. 32 dollars. Just the food wasn't worth it. No flavoring to nothing.

I grew up in this area and this restaurant has been there for years. Great food, breakfast dinner lunch. This place is always packed on the weekends, well the weekends I go up fishing and hunting.

1st time eating here, the food was very good. Sam, our waitress was awesome. Many blessings to the new baby.

Steak wasn't seasoned and the eggs were so undercooked the egg whites were still clear on the inside, and yokes broke. Best part was the toast... Service was pretty good though. Cooks here can't cook.

Breakfast was awesome today! Service is always great. First time for dinner. This is not fancy food but it's good food. One waitress for the entire restaurant on a Saturday night and she was literally running.

Excellent experience. Perfectly priced for quality and taste. The chicken dinner I had melted in my mouth it was so tender. The pork bowl with rice was made well and tasted awesome. Will definitely eat here again. Friendly personable on top of everything staff the waitress was awesome! clean and tidy dining area. Passed through on a whim great decision.

Wonderful food! Awesome waitstaff! Prices are reasonable for the great food served! Update: August 3, 2023 I Treated my grandson to dinner tonight and there was a different waitress than normal who "took care of us" and it wasn't a pleasant experience. To be fair, she was working the floor alone, but the other wait staff have as well and they are always friendly and efficient. I would say perhaps she was having an "off" night, but she was friendly to some of the other customers and thankfully to my grandson but not so much to me. A few examples of how my dinner went: I ordered an iced tea which she brought but I forgot to ask for sweetener so before she left to bring some she asked if there was anything else that I wanted. I apologized and said no (because I felt chastised) and so she slap some down on the table edge, I mumbled Thank you, and she just kept walking. We ordered our main course and I was still looking at the appetizers deciding which to get and the next thing I knew the menu was taken from me and the waitress walked away and I had to lift my jaw off the floor. I guess I really didn't need that appetizer. Luckily my grandson shared his with me! There were a couple of more things that occurred but most importantly the food is REALLY EXCELLENT and this was my first "bad" experience which in hindsight is pretty laughable...

Went here with my in laws, so we were a big group, on a Sunday. We must have got in at a great time because we were seated right away. The servers were super nice and accommodating. But service was slow, and it took forever to get a check and we had to ask for it to get it. I ordered pancakes and one was normal and the other was burnt. The burnt one was placed under the normal one. I would have asked for another to be made but I didn’t want to wait. They were just ok. My family loved their meals, so maybe it was just me. I also ordered an over easy egg and it was very good. The water is well water and tastes like iron. The place is very small and I couldn’t squeeze in between chairs and tables, I had to walk around the place to get to my table and to go to the bathroom. The bathrooms are single bathrooms (only men’s and women’s) and are small.

Got the chicken Philly. Really good. Surprisingly good. Greeted promptly, seated quick, food came out quick. Fries on point. Very surprised about the whole experience. Small but cozy inside. Not much when driving by but definitely worth a stop. We picked the place at random. Had two younger kids in our party and the waitress, maybe owner, I don't know, was very kind. **to the tool crying about the toast not being ready fast enough. Being patient and kind is free. Try it sometime. If I hadn't of been with a client I would have let your old grouchy a** know your attitude was disgusting. With that said, the woman working, handled it better than I would have. End of rant. Try it out, great place, lots to chose from and definitely worth it. Grouchy tools stay home. Thanks
