THE BEST PORK CHOPS I EVER HAD. I hadn’t even finished my breakfast yet and I just had to write this review. They are so juicy and flavorful!!!! Now I’m worried any other pork chop I eat will never amount to this pork chop at Cortez Cafe!

This breakfast cafe is one of the best options in the area. The staff is very friendly and they offer a great variety of pancakes and eggs. I would recommend the greek omelette 😋

They charge 3.99% to use a credit card. What a ripoff! That iantheir cost of doing business and accepting credit cards. A joke of a place.

Great little mom and pop breakfast spot. I've been coming down to Anna Maria since I was a newborn and I hadn't yet stopped in here. I have to say the super friendly staff, and generous portions are definitely worth the trip. While the island is changing, this part of Cortez off the bridge holds that old school, lowstakes vibe that we all love.

We both had the corned beef hash omelette and it was WONDERFUL! The service and prices were really good.

Such a cute little place. Staff was very friendly, good food, great service and very good prices. We came in and loved seeing all the locals greeting each other. If you are on vacation and want a moce brealfast or lunch this is a great place.

The food was delivered hot and fresh but lack the contents. I ordered the burrito with bacon and sausage and there was only what seemed like a strip of bacon no sausage but plenty of green peppers to fill the gaps. The home fries were cooked to perfection and is the only thing to save the meal.

Walked in and immediately all eyes turned to us. Not going to take it out of context but it was an odd feeling. Was told to take a seat anywhere we’d like and that was fine. The waitress was ehh, asked us what we wanted to drink and we gave her our order. If you like orange juice like my hubby, make sure you order two cups as they are small. The lady serving us dropped orange juice on my husband’s brand new shoes. She chuckled and stated “ Oops, I spilled the orange juice.” There was no apology or napkins offered. Made the hubs very upset and normally that would have been a sign to walk out. We read the reviews and wanted to taste the breakfast so we let it go. The food was hot and delicious! Tasted just like a home cooked breakfast. We do recommend visiting if you’re in the area. Only took a star off for the service.

We were here for breakfast, and lunch, and it was excellent both times. And my wife adds…chicken fried steak and sausage gravy…BOOM!! Incredible!! Cuban sandwich was killer!! And the staff was great!!

Delicious food. Super friendly staff. Knowledgeable about an allergy our kiddo had an able to make us feel safe and comfortable with eating there. Highly recommend.

ordered a omelet without onions an peppers got it with onions an peppers they took it back an picked out onions an peppers instead of making a new one the staff didn’t come back after that unless it was to take plates like they are in a hurry to get people out

Been there twice this month for breakfast. Food is delicious and service is excellent! Omelets are fantastic. The Benedicts look delicious. I’ll get that next time

My family and I spent the weekend nearby and wanted to grab breakfast before we headed back home. I found this cafe on yelp and called ahead to check if there would be a wait for a party of 7 plus a toddler. The person that answered said there is currently no wait. I said great and ended the call. My family and I then decided to make our way over. We walked in and an older gentleman asked if we called ahead. I said yes, we did. I was blown away by this but the staff had been expecting us and had a table ready for us. I didn’t tell the person on the phone I was coming but was so happy to see that they anticipated our arrival. My wife, in laws and infant son were seated immediately. We already were happy with the great service and just knew the food would be just as good as the service. The staff was prompt and provided beverages in a timely manner. Food was ordered and served within a reasonable time. Food was great and everything we had hoped for. We definitely will be back to check out this cafe in the future as we visit Anna Maria 1-2x a year.

We found this gem when visiting the fish market next door. When we popped our head in to check it out and the couple seated closet to the door told us they had done the same thing years back and then it became their favorite spot🥰 We went on a Sunday and they were busy but accomodating. Our pancake never made it to the table, unfortunately, everyone was talking about how good they were--we could have asked for it, but honestly we had so much food we didn't need it! Great spot where conversations are easy to have with the neighbors at the next table. We met two lovely couples while we were there. The Greek Eggs Benedict was flawless and the sausage gravy was well balanced so that everyone could enjoy (some may want to add heat or salt and pepper, but it was creamy and a good balance of meat to gravy) The scrambled eggs were just a tad over done and I might ask for peppers and onions in my potatoes next time just because I love a lot of flavors 😋 All in all a great diner experience and we will definitely come back to try more.

Adorable cafe that is the perfect spot for breakfast! We were able to get right in. Almost every table was already full! The portions were perfect, and the food was homestyle with unique twists on classic items. I enjoyed the veggie omelet, my mom had eggs, and my sister had french toast. The prices were good and the wait staff were friendly and efficient.

I’ve only been here a few times, but I haven’t yet had a bad experience. The food and staff are terrific. The prices are more than competitive. The atmosphere is normally like an old style family diner. I have yet to not have some friendly conversation with an adjoining table about where are you from or some friendly banter

This is a small family owned diner that may be a little tight when it is busy, but that wouldn't deter us from going again. Friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was really good, with large portions. Pork chop breakfast with home fries very tasty. The pancakes are large enough to serve two people. The server was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. The cost is average.

We placed a phone order for pick up. We ordered an omelette and two chicken cold plates. According to their on line menu the total price should have been around $25, instead it was almost $50 when we picked it up. On top of that the portions have gotten noticeably smaller. If my four egg omelette had four eggs they must have been very small. Also the chicken salad scoops were much smaller too. This used to be a favorite place to visit but this experience has turned us off.

Thought we would give this local spot a try for breakfast based on their current rating of a 4.8. From the start looked as if it could be good choice as it was packed with people. Well what a misconception. Very small inside smelled of mildew. We decided to still try the food. I ordered scrambled eggs bacon and a side of sausage gravy and biscuits. Also came with breakfast potatoes. My eggs came out crumbled in very small pieces and rubbery and ice cold. My bacon and potatoes were cold as well. My gravy had set so long it had formed that dark thick layer on top that gravy does. Wow is all I have to say!!! My husband’s meal was the same way ice cold and not edible. We really wanted to like this place as it is close to us. Not sure how the maintain that high of a rating because it is not accurate!

Small diner, big thumbs up for food! Eggs over medium, bacon, grits, whole wheat toast, veggie omelet, hash browns w/w toast. The grits were creamy and delicious, none of that instant stuff! The bacon was meaty and yummy, not overcooked and dry. The omelet was great and the eggs were cooked right. The biggest surprise was the toast. So good!

Actually... writing this for my boyfriend that I sent down there. Who just moved in that area recently. He came down to get a side order... carry out of biscuits and gravy and was charged $10 and some change. I had done the research and read the reviews... all mostly good. Well...I really didn't look at the menu til after when he said he was charged over $10 & that was a bit pricey. Just wondering if ypu perhaps have new folks or ??? Beven trying to send him back since food is good & supposedly reasonably priced... but he won't since he got taken advantage of. (Could of been unknowingly... just not sure) Anyhow... hoping this helps the owners or mgmt if you do have some new folks, maybe it was an honest error.

This is a great little Roadside Diner. We live on Anna Maria and frequent the cafe. We love the fast and friendly service. Atmosphere channels the old Florida vibe. Overall we always enjoy our meals here.

This is a small family owned breakfast spot. The service is friendly and fast. The food is tasty. Only complaint is that the space is tight when the restaurant is full, it’s hard to get to the counter to pay and get out of the front door if people are waiting for a table. I would eat there again. I had a bbq bacon cheeseburger with fries and it was delicious.

Fabulous, absolutely love this place. The food, the price, the atmosphere, and last but not least THE PEOPLE are absolutely wonderful. Will be back again when in town for sure.

Don’t pass First watch to go here. The food was greasy and bland. We could have gotten better food and better priced elsewhere.

The food here is so good!! We had breakfast while visiting some friends because the recommended it and we weren't disappointed. The reuben sandwich was one of the best I have had here in Florida, and the Omelet my partner had was so tasteful, really good. The service was really good, a little slow that day, but it was because the restaurant was really full of people...well, it was a Sunady morning.

Wanted to support an independent business but wasn’t that impressed. Quality and price on a par with large chains but service wasn’t even as good.

Prices aren’t accurate online! Ordered a to-go large pancake with one topping. It ended up being double what the price says on here. I was shocked when the cashier told me I owed over $10. I told her I just got a pancake. She confirmed the price. I told her the price it said on here and she laughed saying they’d be out of business if they had those prices and they need to be updated online. I told her I never would’ve paid over $10 for a pancake with a topping if I knew the accurate price before ordering. The pancake was…well, a pancake and tasted fine, but not worth over $10. Disappointed in the customer service more than the pancake itself.

Small little place with good food and friendly service. I had the banana nut waffle, hubby had the country fried steak breakfast and kids had waffles. Hubbys was by far the best. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the waffle. But it was good. Just not great. But I tasted my husbands and it was really good! Eggs were great, steak was great, and grits were great.

This was actually a to go order, I looked at this site and got the prices for a quick breakfast for my employees. Low and behold, the prices were wrong, the actual price was for what I ordered should have been about $40, wrong, double that!!! I have actually gone to get to go orders before and it has taken over an hour for a club sandwich and a fruit cup, TWICE!!! This is the last time I will ever go there and when someone asks me where is a good place, it won't be the Cortez Cafe.

This is the best local breakfast and lunch spot in the area. Affordable and all homemade. Greek owned, so the gyros are legit too.

First time. We try to support local business. Breakfast was very good. Stuffed strawberry French toast was delicious. Coffee could have been a little bit stronger.. But overall a great place.

An out of the way fem of a breakfast spot that you must try if you are in the Bradenton area. The food is outstanding and there is PLENTY OF IT. Two pictures show before and after: the omelet was so big, I couldn't finish it (and it was DELICIOUS!!

When on Anna Maria Island This is the only place we will go for breakfast. They offer a hot meal right off the grill that overflows on your plate! It’s cooked on the spot so you may have to wait… we’ll worth it. The food is always delicious. You can’t go wrong. Don’t plan on eating lunch after this breakfast 😍

After researching for the great breakfast place we decided to follow the 4.8 stars reviews to the Cortés café. Atmosphere is very nice and service was decent, size of food were humongous, but the quality of food was horrible!! After eating nasty Greek omelette, and my friend had polish sausage and eggs. Instead of sausage, he’s got a hotdog cut in half and sprinkled with some green bell pepper... our bill was $42,48 + tip. We left $50 lighter and will NEVER suggest to anyone to eat there.

We ate breakfast at Cortez Cafe for the first time this vacation. The seafood omelette with hollandaise sauce was absolutely amazing!!! We loved eating there and went back again. A now a favorite must do when we go back again next year. Phenomenal service and food!!

The peach French toast is a winner. It melts in your mouth and is heavenly. Best way to start the day.

Great local place for breakfast and lunch just off the island. Get there early if you don’t want to wait or just expect it to be busy. The breakfast burrito, Cortez scrambler and the burger (always delivered to your table hot and delicious) are our favorites but everything looks good coming from the kitchen.

If you’re bringing your boat in for service at Cortez Cove Marina, you can walk over to the cafe for a solid breakfast and coffee to time rhe tides!

We March 14th. We were waited on promptly, are food was very good & service was great. I had a Waffle with bananas and bacon, it was awesome. My husband had a western omelet and that was very good. Prices were very reasonable.

What a treat. Great service, delicious food in a no-frills setting. My first corned beef hash omelet (yum) and a breakfast burrito as big as your head. We took half home, and munch on it the next day. Prices are fair, and the overall experience was great.

In the last seven years we have probably tried every breakfast place there is and none compare to Cortez café. They’re people, owners, and food are the best. I’ve never had a meal that I haven’t enjoyed. They’re breakfast is our primary meal that we eat and we eat there often. It’s worth the wait if there is a line, and there’s a line for a reason.
