Food was o.k. prices are fair. Servers overwhelmed so service is slow. Really hurts the bottom line. Maybe one or two more workers could solve the problem.

I want to start off by saying I do not leave restaurant reviews - I understand that places have off days. However, this entire meal "left a bad taste in my mouth" The trouble started when my coworker got back to the office and I realized they did not give us the grits we ordered. Ok - I can live with that...stuff happens. However, when I opened my container and saw that my Corned Beef Skillet was stuffed with tomatoes (which is not indicated anywhere on the menu) I knew we were off to a bad start. The corned beef skillet was nothing more than some cubed up hunks of corned beef tossed on top of some undercooked hashbrowns. As you can see in the photo a majority of the corned beef was inedible. I've never come across gristle on corned beef so tough that I was afraid I would break a tooth. I spent a good 10 minutes picking out the tomatoes and rock hard corned beef. The pièce de résistance of this entire fiasco was the fact that my over-medium eggs were so overcooked the yolks had the consistency of hardboiled eggs. After reading an article about how this restaurant was struggling after a shorter than usual "season" we wanted to give this local spot a try. Unfortunately, at nearly $20 for my meal alone (skillet, grits & tip) and the mess that we actually received, I hate to say that the lack of snowbirds is in no way responsible for this restaurants failing.

I give Judy's a 5 star overall because my family and I love this place for breakfast when we're on vacation. However, when we were there this year, they were very understaffed. No servers at all so that left who I believe to be Judy doing all the serving. I don't believe this is their fault at all. I believe it is the economy and no one wanting to work these days. She assured us she was getting help soon. Go visit!

Visited this restaurant last July and had no issues. Today there was one waitress covering the entire restaurant and one hostess/table busser/cashier. We were seated at 0920, received multiple coffee refills, but no food after 50 minutes. A large party of 7 and another party of 2 received their food but nothing for us. We had to inquire of the status of our order. After another 15 minutes we finally received our food but had to ask twice for syrup. No Coke refills offered. Granted, it was busy, but no apologies about the extreme delay. The manager never once offered to help his staff. I don’t know if the waitress misplaced our order or if the kitchen did. Does it matter? Luckily the food was very good. Unfortunately, we will not be returning in the future.

This restaurant has a very comfortable feeling.

Best breakfast in town??? This has to be the worst breakfast in the sarasota. The quality of food was bad. I hope you don’t have to be anywhere because the service is slow. atmosphere is blah and not clean!

Judy's use to be my go to place for breakfast when visiting AMI. we went on June 9th and the corn beef hash was not the same anymore it did not taste home made at all. My daughter ordered a stack of pancakes and they were raw in the middle and it had a hair in between the stacks. Thankfully they removed it from our bill. The place was very short staffed that day. Very unfortunate. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! It is all fresh and home made. It was amazing! Service was excellent- our coffee never got under half a cup.

Cafe is right beside an Ace Hardware store. Plenty of parking for the plaza. Entrance is on the west side of the cafe. Small menu. Service was excellent. Food was fine. Onion rings were exceptional. Clean, small restaurant.

Told Me there closed before the time on the door and wouldn't take my order

This is a diner style restaurant with really good food. We were seated right away and food was delicious! I got the French toast and my wife got an omelette. We were happy with both. My wife came here over 10 years ago with her mom and recalls the food was great back then too!

My husband and I got breakfast, he got a skillet breakfast and enjoyed it very much. Mine was good also. This place was clean and the staff was nice!

Service is bad. Poor disposition of staff. Food below subpar. Musty blue berries in pancake. Pancake tasteless French toast cold without flavor. Omelet worst that gas station omelet. Would not recommend.

Cool place! It has elements of both the past and the present. Food is good, excellent service. My husband got the meat lover breakfast and I got the burger and fries. Maybe have a dispenser with hand sanitizer or little hand wipes at the table so I can clean my hands after devouring that juicy burger. That would be cool.

Food was slow to come but delish and great service.

20 minute wait just to get a menu, 35 minutes later received cold food.

Ownership changed since last time we were there, out shows. Are less than half and left.

This diner used to be great. We recently had breakfast there the first time this season and the food was awful. Eggs were cold, reconstituted potato tots were served for home fries, “butter flavored spread” was substituted for real butter, the Judy’s breakfast sandwich, which used to be wonderful, was simply awful (cold scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs and one dry sausage patty instead of two juicy Pattie’s and the awful potatoes were $2 extra ). We were so disappointed in our formerly “go to” local breakfast place. We will not be going back. So sad!

Great place! Chipped beef was out of sight! YUM!

Food has gone downhill. Husband ate his, but I couldn't. Eggs are always over cooked. Last time the poached eggs were hard boiled, this time the over easy were hard. We were the only ones there, but the server never came back to check on us.

This was our first time here, easy to find and nice and airy inside, plenty of seating for latlrger groups. We got seated quickly and ordered coffee sadly my cup was so dirty with old coffee stains. We ordered a bowl of oatmeal but it was nearly solid and not very nice. My breakfast plate had bacon which was nice but the potatoes were cold. I asked for poached eggs done med hard but they were watery and with even the whites not all cooked. I really wanted to like this place and hope it was a one off that our breakfast was not very good.

This place is great, and the food was amazing! I highly recommend the meat lovers skillet with the three eggs up on top. 👌👌👌

Was on our way to AMI and stopped at Judy's for breakfast. The food was outstanding and the service was prompt and exceptional. I would recommend Judy's to anyone looking for a great breakfast.

New owners, they have good cooks now . Homemade cornbread hash soups from scratch.

Our server was polite, but obviously didn’t think anything about serving two people one chicken strip each because the cook dropped the other ones. Then when she served the remaining chicken strips, they were way over cooked. Food was cooked in very old grease. All you could taste was grease. Will not return.

Server and greeting were very good , the breakfast menu was very comprehensive with all the usual breakfast items , plus some others not so usual . Food was nice and plenty of it too.

Arrived on a wendsday morning. Plenty of parking in a shared lot with other businesses. There is handicap parking. We were greeted inside and offered a booth at the window. Plenty of room at the booth which was a pleasant surprise. There are tables available also if you do not like booths. There is counter stools also. I had a meat lovers bowl with eggs on top and rye toast. Good portion and good food. Service was good but seemed like they were short staffed. No issues at our table. Restrooms were clean and had no off smells. There was soap and paper towels. I will try more of the menu again.

We got omlettes and they both were over cooked and dryed out ! We replaced the potatoes with fruit ($1 extra) and we got 3 grapes 2 small pieces of cantaloupe and a small slice of orange ! We complained to our waitress and all she said was I will tell the cooks. We wont be back to many other great places to go.

Food and service definitely awesome! Decorations were very outdated. Prices are very accepting. Definitely a great place for locals to eat!!!

If I could give it zero stars .. I would. Place was dirty , only stayed because my mom wanted to. Hair in 2 out of 4 plates of food, dirty water, salt shakers had dirty on the lid, ketchup was filthy. When I showed the owner the hair in my food she was extremely rude & argued about removing the uneaten plates on my bill. NEVER AGAIN.

We enjoyed 2 breakfasts here while vacationing on Anna Maria Island. Delicious and wonderful staff. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Mom and Pop located in wonderful Palma Sola. Food, service, very clean, awesome nature lighting. I definitely recommend to anyone breakfast or lunch, they close at 2. Large number of tables, booths, and there is also a bar. Anyone that is a corned beef hash lover, homemade!!!! I definitely recommend along with the home fries.

On vacation with friends. Judy's was close by. Our entire party of 6 adults left happy and full bullied after our delicious breakfast. The owner is sweet and welcoming. Staff is friendly and experienced. From eggs, omelets and pancakes to burgers and turkey club the food did not disappoint. We went back for lunch.

We went there for breakfast, and it was very good. Delicious omelets, my Mom and sister both liked the country fried steak and eggs. This was first year we went there, and we'll be going back.

Our family came on Labor Day, even though there were TWO servers in the whole restaurant only one was actually doing any work. We felt so sorry for our server who was working so hard. It took a long time get our order and the biscuits tasted as if they were previously frozen. My 13 yo refused to eat his onion rings saying they tasted funny. We paid and left. I over heard that this was the first time they were open on labor day, so I'm giving them the benefit of the with three stars. Food would be two stars.

Got into town and we were starving! Looked for a quick hearty meal and picked Judy’s based off menu and review… it was the PERFECT choice!!! Our breakfast was so delicious and filling, service was quick and the price was reasonable A+++

Biscuit tasted like it had been frozen. Bacon was terrible. Grits were good as were the eggs. It took forever to get our food. Not recommended.

It was our first time to Judy's and it will not be our last. Fresh corned beef hash was excellent. I had the chicken fried steak and it was yummy. The coffee was just okay. Fresh biscuits were very good. * I heard Judys has new owners, I have not been there since new owner took over.

We where looking for a family oriented restaurant and came across Judy’s Restaurant, highly recommended, very friendly, service was awesome and food was delicious!

Quiet, out of the way place for breakfast and lunch!

-PLEASE READ - PLEASE READ- Went to breakfast Friday morning with 5 friends, ordered our normal breakfast items and all of us we're completely disgusted watching the new owner of Judy's restaurant reach his hand into the rear of his pants to dig his underwear out of his backside. With personal family members in the food/restaurant industry, I can safely guess he does not have his ServSafe license. This hand, of course, being the same one he was using to check out customers after there dining 'experience'. Very sad to watch this once great restaurant die under the new owners. Zero Stars and Health Code Violation.

Very friendly atmosphere, in a comfortable setting. I saw a few couples stopping and talking to each other Food was great, There were many choices for breakfast, I was also surprised to see grapefruit juice, my wife and I each ordered a glass. Ample parking, sits next to Ace hardware.

It was our first visit there. The restaurant was recommended by one of our neighbors. We are about 12 miles away. I thought we would give it a try. We were very pleased at the quality of the food and the service. I had the eggs with sausage and pancakes the pancakes were very thick and delicious. Another positive was having a decent tasting coffee that most restaurants are lacking it's a bit of a drive for us but I'm sure we'll be back in the near future

New owners and whole new staff. Visited the 1st week new owners took over. No raisin toast, no fruit and only cheese was Swiss. Obvious that new owners had no idea of the business practice they purchased. Place was crowded as usual but only difference was everyone was waiting for service or their food.

Made room for 8 people. Very quick service. Staff very friendly and efficient

Great Breakfast Restaurant Excellent

Judy & Ozzie are gone. Lousy Food, service and in general is not the same. New owner dressed like a homeless person, button your shirt and humble yourself! Nobody wants to see your harry chest! I was told by a server it’s my fault she failed to take my order correctly. Pushed my food away and left. So sad but done with this place.

Our server was friendly. The portion size were more than adequate. The only complaint was that the strawberries placed on the pancake and waffle, rendered the centers mushy.

The place is under new ownership and they need to figure it out quick. Quite a departure from a once great diner. Sad

Portions are on the small size and simple plated. Ok food... OK service.
