Pretty good Cuban spot in Roscoe

My wife and I had a spontaneous date here. The food and service was great.

Decent enough food, strip steak good but chicken was dry this evening.

This is honestly the best Cuban restaurant in Chicago! Definitely a place that has been on my radar and am glad we had our celebration here! Natalie and her team sweat their butt offs trying to make sure that everyone is taking care of you, honestly you will feel at home! The Cuban Pork chop was well marinated and super juicy and delicious, the Ropa Vieja was tenderized beef marinated in spices and lots of flavor, Chicken breast was juicy and grilled to perfection, and the Steak was well marinated and one of the best steaks I ever had in my life!!! Overall this place has it all from drink, to attentive staff, and most importantly incredible Cuban food!!!!

All our meals were delish and the guava mojito was yummy!

I come here plenty of times but yesterday was my last time coming. The old bald man who claimed was the owner was rude. First of all I ordered 2 sangrias and they tried charging me for 3 just because I asked for it without ice. Wine isn’t suppose to come with ice let’s start with that first. Wine was watered down especially. Menu clearly says they charge an extra dollar for an egg and tried charging me $2 for each egg. When I mentioned it he claim that the menu changed then later charged additional 50cent extra for dipping sauce AFTER we complained about the additional charge of the egg. THEN, he tipped himself 13$ with my card and claimed it was a gratuity charge. He even signed my signature HIMSELF. I always come here and I NEVER pay gratuity! This place is a rip off and the food is not worth it. I ordered the steak and it was so small after waiting 1 hr and 30min for 2 entrees. Paid 100$ for kids size meals… The owner is a liar and is very disrespectful (if he was even the owner). Bald tall old guy needs to not run this restaurant. NEVER COMING BACK. A joke

Came here to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Everything was good. The waitress was so kind and accommodating. Nice music playing in the background. The beef empanadas were so flavorful. Will definitely come again.

Extremely noisy place. I had the ropa vieja and it was just ok, nothing to rave about. Probably will not go back.

Service was slow, but the gentleman was working very hard on what seemed to be a busier than expected evening. With that being said, the food was amazing. I will definitely return and have some more.

We made reservations in advance that did not provide any benefits. Service was lacking, and we were charged for an appetizer that came out after our entrees. Food was good.

I had the ropa vieja and it was pretty good. First time trying the dish so I don't have a basis for comparison, but the meat was juicy and tender. The dish also came with a side of tostones, rice, and beans which were all good. Some of the friends I was with got other dishes and found the meat to be dry. The portion sizes also aren't very large relative to the price. Overall a pretty decent spot.

I like this place. I ordered a pork dish and it was perfectly cooked, not dry, and not too salty. My partner ordered a Chicken breast which was also delicious. The server was very helpful and welcoming. I will be coming back!

My boyfriend and I made reservations for the 24 of December as soon as we saw that there was a Noche Buena plate on the menu. The main reason we chose Cuba312 was because of that dish, it would remind us of home and our Cuban family. From the moment we entered the building it was clear the the only female server in the building was frustrated and unwelcoming. She shouted at us which tables were available to sit at after she realized we had reservations. After sitting down, with no menus or QR code to scan, she cleaned the table next to ours. She then realized we did not have a QR code to scan the menu gave it to us. We placed our order the croquetas, yuca frita, empanadas and 2 plates of the noche buena meal. At 7 pm the main dish for Christmas Eve, the main reason that we chose this restaurant, was sold out along with the croquetas. By this point, we just wanted to make the best of it but the energy was so strange and unwelcoming. From there I ordered the El Padrino. I don't know how to explain the excessive amount of oil that created a rainbow in my oil based sauce for the steak. It was very off putting and disappointing.

I love Cuban food and Cuba 312 never disappoints! The Cubano, steak jibarito, emanadas, and Cuban coffee are all delicious but the true test of a restaurant is the palette of a kid. And they LOVED it! The owner is great. Definitely recommend! 5-stars.

Small but perfect spot in Roscoe Village. Food is great and they are a very personal eatery. Staff is friendly and on point. I recommend this place to everyone.

Astonishly good food, a million times better than that other popular Cuban place 80 Miles or whatever. Best croquettes I’ve ever had. Food coma entirely. Staff are so nice.

The food is 5 stars, the drinks were lacking. We got a few cocktails and could barely tell the difference as they were mainly mixes of the same juices. We didn’t get a mojito and probably should have, so this is partially on us. Croquettes were tasty, crisp outside, soft center. We got the steak and pork entrees. Both were amazing. We requested the steak rare and it was cooked perfectly. The service was okay. Everyone was friendly but seemed short staffed and it took awhile to get attention towards the end of the meal when we wanted to close out. Will be back to try more items and be more selective on drink orders.

One of my favorite Cuban spots! Chicken Empanadas and Churrasco are the best! I have yet to find a chimichurri sauce this good, and don’t forget I try their secret green sauce!

Phenomenal food. Small family owned spot that has an outstanding menu (drinks, apps, entrees, dessert all impress). I couldn’t believe there weren’t more people there given the quality of the food/menu.

I’ve been eating Cuban food my entire life and I was very disappointed in the food. First, when I called about certain dishes, they had no idea what I was even asking about. They kept referring to the Cuban sandwich as a “Cuban steak sandwich” when it’s supposed to be made of three different types of pork. Second, the croquetas, tostones, and fried yucca were all over fried and tasted way too oily to actually enjoy. The sandwich itself was fine, not great and not terrible. The only redeeming thing was the rice and beans—those were actually good! They did forget both my rice and beans, though. So I had to go back for it after getting home. I probably won’t go back here and generally speaking, I’ve yet to find a great Cuban restaurant in Chicago.

Had to stop in, it had been a while. A bit sad they are not doing the pork chop but definitely not disappointed. Everything was soo good. Yuca nachos is a must have, so many flavors that just work well.

Dang, this place hits the spot. Refreshing drinks and an over the top with deliciousness steak, plantains, and empanadas, yes please. So good you have to take so.e home with you to give everyone a little tease.

Stop here, one way to my belly. That steak was fire 🔥, along with everything else as well. Chill atmosphere, low key joint. I'll most definitely be back to try more.

Had the Noche Buena and added a side salad. Sooooo delicious. The pork was juicy, tender and tasty. Loved it! Will definitely go back.

Un lugar pequeño pero la verdad , muy acogedor con un menú increible.. 100 recomendado si te gusta la comida cubana o solo la buena comida. Desde tostones,ropa vieja, hasta los famosos Sandwish cubanos, y ni que decir de las bebidas, les recomiendo el fruit punch y obviamente los mojitos. Buena música buen hambiente y muy buen servicio les espera en este lugar.

Lechon was good. Ropa vieja was spicy(hot spicy), that was very unexpected, but was ok. Rice and beans were very good

Good Cuban food. I wish I had more rice and beans in proportion to the amount of meat on my plate. Can’t complain tho it was delicious. Oh also would have loved more than two pieces of Maduros for my plate. Again it’s just my preference. I could have ordered more on the side. The night we went, we were seated outside- dog friendly patio is a plus. Unfortunately they only had one waitress so service was a little slow but totally understanding. It’s rough for businesses to hire and retain people! Anyway would visit this place again when I’m on the area :)

The only thing good about this place is the drinks. They charge $6 for a tamale the size of a Mexican tamale when Cuban tamales are way larger and cooked in plantain leaves, not corn husks. The menu online is not updated. They did not have congris, a Cuban staple or boiled yuca al mojo. They are overpriced, food is not authentic Cuban, and they have limited options. If you want good Cuban food, go to D'Cuba. It is way better!

Tucked away and lovely. Ambiance is awesome and the servers are fabulous. The “coconuts” cocktail was so refreshing - I love coconut but normally steer away from it in drinks because they tend to be so sweet. Not here! The food was amazing- perfect portion sizes, great flavor, with some cool twists on otherwise very well-done traditional fare.

We ordered Castro's last meal! It was pretty good! I loved the assortment they offered! We also tried their empanadas which were quite tasty. Nice little restaurant to check out in Roscoe village. We will be back!

no half-stars here, as i would place this one in the middle of a 5 point scale. unfortunately another in a very long list of disappointing Cuban joints in Chicago (disclaimer: i am Cuban and i will concede that i am a very tough critic). iffy service with generally unhelpful and unfriendly staff (our specific waitress, the other seemed normal enough), iffy decor and ambience (the large Scarface mural should have been a warning, but at least much better than a Che Guevara mural), but worst of all iffy food flavours and selection: 1.) sandwiches only during lunch so unsure if they are good or bad 2.) no desserts (i guess unless you count vanilla ice cream as one 🤷🏽‍♂️) — i don’t trust a Cuban place without a good selection of desserts tbh 3.) no cafecito 4.) the black beans had no flavour, the trifongo (not sure if adding yuca and removing pork does anything positive here) was too dry, and the mash didn’t do much for me 5.) small selection of entrees given that sandwiches aren’t available for dinner (and even some of those were unavailable) 6.) no batidos (Cuban shakes) 7.) another Cuban restaurant that insists on chipotle mayo 🤷🏽‍♂️ 8.) the mojito was pretty unbalanced on the other hand, the croquetas were good, and the empanadas were decent. was hoping i finally found a good Cuban place in my neighbourhood, but i’ll just have to continue going out to 1492 in Humboldt to satisfy my Cuban food needs. i assume, seeing the reviews here, that if you don’t have much of a discerning palette for Cuban food you will likely enjoy it. so, follow your heart i suppose.

Every experience has been spectacular. Food is amazing, drinks are awesome. The yucca fries are ridiculous and I'm addicted to the Noche Buena!! Definitely go do the empanadas, as well.

Such a cute spot in an underrated neighborhood. Service was wonderful, food was authentic and full of flavor, and the drinks were my favorite! Fresh muddled mango and strawberry with tequila and a tajín rim. Delicious! Can't believe I overlooked this place for so long.

Mojitos are delicious. We tried ropa vieja, media noche and lechon. Everything was tasty. The only plus that I'll add in some spicy sauce or some Pico de Gallo for the lechon, it was kindy dry but itself. The atmosphere was good. Definitely a great place to go back

So far 3 for 3 in visits, everything we’ve ordered came out great. The outer skirt, plantains fritas surf and turf all so good. Even the basic kids chicken was fresh and yummy. Love this place

I'm officially addicted. I have been twice in the past week after moving into the area. Staff is amazing, food is just perfect. They know how to treat a protein and the yucca is just ridiculous.

To say their empanadas blew my mind is an understatement. I have been a handful of times and had great experiences each time but recently had my first experience with their empanadas and it was just next level.

Amazing! I can't believe it took so long for me to try this place. Food was great. Drinks tasted like summer. The staff super friendly. Good stuff.

The food was okay, there was a table of 4 women that were very loud and drunk, they knocked a glass over the staff helped clean it fast but it took away from the lunch with my husband. Because we couldn't hear each other.

Cozy small place, with delicious cocktails and food! The place is small and everyone is cramped together. It's on a great location to view out of the window and enjoy the afternoon sun on you.

this was the most pleasant visit I’ve had at a restaurant in a while. place was packed but we got sat down pretty quick. there was only one server tending the entire place but she made us and everyone else feel like we were the only ones there and the foooodddddd. wow. delicious. I had the trifongo with a side of rice and beans and it was SO GOOD. also the young lady that made the drinks was snapping! so good! please come by here. you will not regret it.

The food was good and it was a nice place to catch up with an old friend. We both ordered the fish sandwich which was listed on the menu for $10 and we're surprised when the bill came that the actual price was 16. It left a bad taste to be changed a different price than was listed.

The food and drinks were good but over priced. We went for dinner and it's a super casual restaurant. Service was also just ok. Would go back and try lunch.

Gratamente sorprendido por CUBA 312. La comida era excelente y muy auténtica. Cubano clásico con un pequeño toque contemporáneo. Me encantaron los aperitivos, los platos principales y el desierto. Los platos en otras mesas también se veían geniales. Bonito y pequeño lugar con un servicio amable y eficiente. Te recomiendo intentarlo.

Cuba 312 is a great spor for casual dining. Prices are ok and the food is very good. The Place is cozy and clean. Parking is a bit difficult since it is located on Roscoe St. Service could be better, it took a bit long to get our order taken even though the place was not really full (only 1 table with customers by the timw I arrived) the decor is interesting; there is a huge mural of Scarface, which I find a bit offensive since this character is a poor and false depiction of Cubans and Hispanics in general. You could have painted Celia Cruz, Benny More and even Gloria Stefan... Just an observation. (Last timed I checked Pacino was not Cuban and Scarface was not real...)

Cuba 312 es un gran restaurante con abundantes porciones cubanas. Se encuentra en el centro de Roscoe Village, a minutos de Wrigleyfield. Te ofrece Mojitos u otros cócteles. El menú está lleno de especialidades cubanas. Si sientes que estás preparado para platos más pequeños, también ofrecen empanadas o ceviches. El ambiente y la música de fondo me hicieron sentir muy cómodo y me sentí acogedor. El restaurante estaba lleno de personas de todas las edades. Tuve un mojito, ropa vieja y entrantes de pollo, estaban muy sabrosos y recién hechos. Estoy seguro de que también te gustará.

Recientemente regresamos de uno de los últimos viajes sancionados a Cuba. Encontramos este lugar y esperábamos revivir nuestro viaje. Esa fue nuestra esperanza! ! Estamos sentados enseguida afuera. El espacio exterior es pintoresco pero lleno de mesas y sillas. La mesa está pegajosa y no está limpia. Recibimos agua de inmediato, pero espere 14 minutos para que nuestra camarera traiga los menús. Los menús también estaban llenos de manchas de comida, ¡vamos! ! ¡Qué difícil es darle a un invitado un menú limpio! ! Luego, otros diez minutos para que ella vuelva a tomar nuestro pedido. Pedí una cerveza a El General, mi esposo (¡resultó que eligió mejor!) La bebida tenía un regusto extraño. No sabía a nada como JWalker Black Afortunadamente, pedimos aperitivos al mismo tiempo que las bebidas, por lo que llegaron unos 10 minutos después de las bebidas. Pedí empanadas de pollo y carne y mi esposo el tamal. Las empanadas están completamente fritas y crujientes, no son terribles pero no auténticas. Buena cantidad de relleno sin embargo. Viene con una mayonesa de chipotle, no está mal, pero tampoco es auténtico.  Los tamales son suaves y dulces, no muy diferentes de los comprados en la tienda. Vienen con una salsa muy picante, ¿tal vez para compensar el tamal suave? Después de estos aperitivos, decidimos pasar los entrantes. Por cierto, la mesa de al lado pedimos al mismo tiempo que nosotros, ¡todavía estaban esperando su comida después de que pagamos y nos íbamos! ! !

Great place to unwind and have a great time with friends

The food was good and the portions were filling, the atmosphere was nice, but everything was pretty expensive. Also, when we ordered sangrias my wife gestured to the sign in front asking about the advertised $6 sangrias and the server asked if we wanted "red or white" and explained nothing further. When we got the check we were charged for a different sangria. We asked about this and were told "those sangrias on the sign are from that orange bucket using the plastic cups, they're to-go". We felt really bamboozled since we clearly were asking about those but were served something different that was 1/3 more than we were expecting to pay. No apologies, no adjustments.

Love this place! You won't be disappointed.

Ugh this place fed my soul - came here for my one year anniversary and we ended up ordering six empanadas, four drinks, a shareable chicken plate, a shipwreck (on the menu), Cafe Con Leche, and boy we were so satisfied. Can't wait to come back.

Went with a group of 5 people. Everyone loved their meals. The seafood tasted extremely fresh. The cocktails were so good! I highly recommend the Narcos. It was a lively atmosphere and service was great
