Everyone is so engaging when we are at Dan's and are very welcoming. Great food and presentation.

Everything was delicious!!! The mushroom soup was amazing. The staff treats you like royalty. If you want to feel spoiled and have a delicious meal, Dan's is the place to go. Love it there!!!!

What a wonderful experience. The weather was perfect to dine outside in this beautiful setting. Odie, the sweetest cat greeted us as soon as we arrived. He is such a well mannered boy! The service was perfect and very attentive. Very well staffed. I ordered the watermelon salad which was delicious and perfectly ripe. For dinner I had the scallops. They had a perfect sear. I loved them and the spaetzle it came with was yummy. The green beans were too under cooked for my liking. They were very crisp. But I think that’s just personal.

The food is excellent. The service is outstanding and friendly. Ask for Odie, the owner.

This place is amazing! The dining experience is at its pinnacle here. Shrimp risotto, tenderloin pork and the special (ravioli with medallion tenderloin) was flawless. The service from everyone was awesome. Rose and Julia were so welcoming and charming. I appreciate the chefs palate and highly recommend Dan's. We will be back!

This place is very nice. The room we ate in had great decor and looked like you were eating in a higher end establishment. Plenty of parking. The service was amazing. I was in a larger group of 6 and they were on top of keeping our drinking full and clearing our dishes. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable. I had the shrimp and grits which I thought was just ok and for $35 really should have been amazing. I’ve gotten this same dish in Atlanta for half the price with 2x the amount of shrimp. I wouldn’t order this here again. The bread was very basic as well. Everyone else at my table was very happy with their food and I wouldn’t say that I wasn’t happy but for the price I expected to have my hair blown back.

The filet was top notch, very very good. Definitely one of the tops in Berks County.

The atmosphere is beautiful and very upscale. We were looking forward to an excellent experience but it fell short in several areas. First course the wrong soup was delivered. We ate it but questioned the server about it. She was defensive and argued, which is understandable however we didn’t want anything from her. And her reaction was not in keeping with upscale service. Then.., the wrong entree was delivered too! So that was disappointing. And some of the food like the escargot and scallops were perfection. But the salmon was just okay.. but maybe we felt that way because that isn’t what we ordered. Overall we were disappointed in the service mostly.

We stopped in right before closing on Friday 1/2. Everyone was so friendly we felt like family. We had no heat that evening since the furnace broke down and one couple even opened their home to us if needed. And the staff brought us snacks. I can’t say enough good things. The kindness shown by everyone was just what we needed to turn our frown upside down. Can’t wait to go back and experience an entire meal.

Regrettably, my recent experience at this purportedly fine dining establishment was nothing short of a culinary catastrophe. The main course presented itself as an unappealing, overcooked disaster that was not only excessively salty but also practically inedible. It's baffling that a restaurant boasting sophistication and culinary expertise would serve a dish that not only lacked palatability but also seemed to disregard the most basic principles of cooking. The overpowering saltiness and dismal preparation rendered the meal utterly unsuitable for consumption. Despite the ambiance and service attempting to maintain an air of elegance, the fundamental failure in delivering an edible dish overshadowed any semblance of a fine dining experience. A complete overhaul of their culinary approach and quality control is imperative if they wish to retain credibility in the realm of upscale dining.

I've never eaten here, but every year, I act as my sister in laws secret santa and purchase gift cards for her. Every year, I look forward to being greeted by the beautiful floofy munchkin kitty. 10/10 experience.

Walking into Dan's doesn't feel like you're going into a restaurant, rather, it feels like you're going into a friend's house. The staff are excellent, from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. We were ushered to a seat in the back of the restaurant where we got to see the Christmas tree outside. We ordered shortly after being seated and the meal didn't take long to start coming. I ordered the crab cake for the 1st plate and it was DELICIOUS! My water glass never emptied and the waiters and waitresses refilled it probably 8-10 times. The second course, the lamb, was fantastic. On the bone lamb with potato wedges and green beans. My only thought was that the potatoes could have been done a little better. They didn't have the best texture in my opinion. The dessert was an apple crumb pie with vanilla caramel ice cream. I don't know how I had room for it after the main course, but I somehow fit it in. I definitely recommend this restaurant for any holiday, special event, or celebration.

The service was the best part when here for a work dinner and the back room that had was very spacious and gave a homie feel to it. Would def recommend for someone hosting a small to mid birthday party or and party to be exact

Thanksgiving Feast with the family was excellent! The filet mignon and salmon were out of this world delish! We thank you!

Lollypop lambchops were over-cooked. Ordered medium came out way over done. Creme Brule was horrible. I expected a fine dining experience, very diappointed.

Menu seems simple but the plates have details you won't find anywhere else. The sides and garnish are over the top. I had scallops with brussel spout & potato hash and homemade apple butter. OMG Delicious!

The service was attentive. The dressing on the caesar salad was a little too lemon forward for my taste. The lamb was delicious.

Love the Sweet Potato Soup, the special appetizer, Filet Mignon done to perfection, cheesecake ... the Patio is gorgeous. They have outside gas heaters to allow dining until is snows outside!!! Lovely and very accommodating service!! We celebrated our 09/22/23 wedding anniversary @ Dan's on the patio!!! Also recommend the Garden / Sunroom ❤️

Haven’t been to Dans in awhile. It has really slid, food quality dropped tremendously. It seems like it’s living off its past reputation.

Dan’s is always a great experience with excellent food!

I really like Dan's. It was especially pleasant sitting on the patio. We had a nice snack from there chef and then a very good Caesar salad with a slice of prosciutto. The entrees looked promising, but I was disappointed with the jambalaya. It was too salty and I didn't notice any celery, bell peppers, or onions. Maybe they were boiled down or minced too much? I'll go back again, though will order something else.

Dans was great for a date night! We have lived in the area for years and stumbled upon this place last night. It has a warm cozy and intimate vibe. There is a lovely outdoor seating area which we will have to try next time! The restaurant was clean, the food was top notch, and the service was beyond expectation. We will definitely be back in and telling friends!

From pre-dinner drinks through dessert, everything was fantastic. The service was attentive and genuine. Highly recommended for a more upscale dinner party or date night.

Been here several times and everything is always delicious. The seafood is fresh, the caesar salad is bright and lemony and the atmosphere is pleasant. Looking forward to going back now that the weather is warm and sitting outside on the patio!

Wonderful service and food for our party of 48. Staff was very accommodating as were the owners. Most of the party was already talking about coming back to Dans for other social gatherings even before we left. Food was so delicious. I will definitely come back to Dans to try something new on the menu.

Service is very good, all the staff are very polite and attentive. I had the caesar salad (5/10) to start. It’s hard to mess up a salad in my opinion, I was not a fan of the dressing that was used for the salad. I also had the french martini (5/10). I had the shrimp jambalaya (8/10) and my husband had the lamb chops (8/10). There were at least 3 large ants that made their way onto our table that we had to brush off, so not a great first impression for first time guests. A staff member said he wasn’t sure where the ants were coming from but nonetheless, it wasn’t pleasant to see. We finished our plates for the most part simply because we weren’t paying that much money to just leave hungry but this isn’t somewhere we will frequent again.

Sweet potato soup is out of this world! The wait staff was very attentive and kind. There was a man floating around that was a tad off-putting, but maybe he just making sure things were going as planned? Try the beet salad, so good!!

This a really nice place with great food and service. It has a beautiful interior with fireplace and white table cloths, but ambiance works for dressy or smart casual. While we were there, two separate tables were celebrating birthdays. It was my first time there, and my daughter goes regularly. Highly recommend!!

Everything was excellent! From the waiters/waitress, to the food, every single bite was worth everything. The atmosphere was comforting and its definitely a good experience. I will recommend everyone to come here!

Best in Berks County great food and service

We live in NJ and were visiting friends this weekend in PA. I read a few reviews and I wanted to try this place. OMG we will be back. We go to the finest restaurant in NJ and enjoy good food and service. This place was amazing. Starting from the time we made the reservations until we left the place. Our waitress was friendly, professional, smiling at all times. We had Ahi Tuna for appetizer and it was better than the most expensive Filet Mignon. I had the French chicken and I usually take food home but I finished everything. My husband had the Pork tenderloins that were out of this world. We also had the bread pudding with dark chocolate. WOW! After that we went to the bar for a cordial. The bartender was very professional and we met the owner also very kind and friendly. Thank you for an excellent dinner. It has been long time since we had so much fun and outstanding food and service.

Chairs were cheap office/class room quality, menu was short and in COMIC SANS and for recommending reservation it was awfully empty.

Dinner was delightful. Greeted by Rose Mary upon arrival & she was extremely friendly & made us feel welcomed. We had escargot as an appetizer, four different entrées: tuna, pork tenderloin, salmon & filet mignon which were all very good! Wait staff was attentive & pleasant. Definitely recommend a visit!

The Good Life! A few minutes from Reading, a quiet country setting with quaint old world ambiance and outstanding fare. Dan's exceeded the excellent reviews I've read online. Arriving, I felt the spirit of a European countryside fine restaurant and a hint of elegant rustique flair. Service was graciously hosted by all, served my every need without being overbearing. The menu was not extensive but something for everyone and what sounded to be well thought & delicious Dinner specials. Being a Scallop Fanatic, I had to go with the Scallops as I viewed photos online and these may have been the best I've experienced! Scallops we're sized larger than normal but not Divers. What I thought may have been 'over' seared was quite the opposite, giving them a bit of a crunch and incredibly juicy centers and cooked to perfection. Not wanting the night to end, I moved from the dining room to a cozy bar for a Cognac and dessert. The entire experience was memorable and I met a friend on my way out. I was warmly greeted a farewell by a very friendly fattened kitty, sitting at the edge of the walk way as if waiting for my exit - Perfect!

Really nice quiet place. This is the second time that my wife and I have visited the place. The food is definitely good, but the price is somewhat high compared with other local establishments.The menu is very small, with only first course and second course options I highly recommend the duck dish. My wife had the scallops and they were good, but not great. The service is definitely one of the high points of Dans at the Green. Overall it's a nice place, but you can do better for your money. Parking is great with such a big lot for a small establishment. I'd love to hear others feedback on this restaurant

We went for a fabulous dinner for valentine's day. Had our reservation and table ready. Our reservation wasn't until 9pm but there were quite a lot of people dining still. Vast selection of martinis, wine by the glass or bottle, and small selection of beer. I ordered a pomegranate martini. Menu was four courses. Soup, salad, entrée, and dessert. We both had lobster bisque - it was delicious and creamy. Would go again just to get the bisque. I had the Caesar salad my partner had house salad. House salad had cranberries, vinaigrette, cherry tomatoes and croutons. For dinner I had the pistachio salmon and my partner the duck duo. Salmon was cooked amazing and melt in your mouth wonderful. Duck was juicy and flavorful. Both of our first time having duck. I had ordered chocolate cake and my partner creme brulee. Unfortunately they ran out of creme brulee (which is not a damper on the fabulous meal -it was valentine's day and late at night) so he opted for cheese cake instead. I took the cake to go but had a bite of cheese cake and it was delicious. Both of use were surprised by the portion size. All the portions were large, I was stuffed after half my salmon. Beautiful old house, was warm and cozy inside. They have a place to hang your coat so you do not have to bring it to your table. Table tops with red candles. Very attentive staff. 10/10 would return. Can't wait for summer to try dinning outdoors.

Dan's is located in a beautiful, historic home. The food is delicious. Everyone in our party was very pleased. The service is great, and the owner is very kind and generous. We will definitely return.

True fine dining in Berks county! A variety of well prepared dishes and excellent soups, that were well presented and delicious. A beautiful setting inside and outside. Most importantly a menu with a varietal of offerings other than the all to often repetitive menu items found in every other restaurant.

Have passed this place for years and always wanted to try it. Who knew such fine dining was hidden in this unassuming spot?! To start, the staff is top notch. They are kind and knowledgable, they also anticipate your needs. Before our meal they brought us a delicious crostini as an amuse bouche. I got a salad, so they brought out a little soup for my husband. Just thoughtful. The food was amazing. My husband had the filet and I enjoyed the scallops. Beautiful presentation and amazing taste. The prices are higher, but that's what you pay for food and service at this level. We will be going back.

My husband and I happened on this wonderful gem the other evening. We have been discussing how wonderful it was even now several days later. The atmosphere was amazing. We dined outside on the patio and the landscape was beautiful. The staff were professional, attentive and friendly! The food!!! Well, what a lovely and delicious experience!! We have decided this will now be our frequent place to dine.

Went to Dinner tonight and sat out on the Patio. First of all, the area was cleaned so well and decorated beautifully with hanging baskets and white lights. The ambiance was magnificent. All the tables were spaced apart appropriately. SERVICE WAS 5 STAR. The Owners greeted us and made sure we were comfortable. We were not rushed at all and the drinks a d food were presented in a timely matter. We started out with a cup of sweet potato soup. JUST AMAZING. My date had the Halibut SPECIAL and it was so DELICIOUS prepared so well that it melted in your mouth like butter and was like HEAVEN !!! I had rack of lamb and it was delicious and prepared as the chef would and it tasted like I died and went to HEAVEN. SO DELICIOUS !!! We shared the SPECIAL bing cherry desert that was so OSTENTATIOUS !!! WHAT A GREAT DINNER !!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!! Planning to go back in 2 weeks !!!

I miss Dan's. We are 2 hours away and have traveled in the past to our favorite restaurant to enjoy an extra special meal, with attentive and friendly staff and the serene atmosphere. Covid 19 has made me long for our next visit. Planning a take out meal and we look forward to dining in as soon as our pandemic nightmare is over.
