My wife and I went to Dante's for our one year wedding anniversary, the food was good. Although the staff minus one gentleman, were acting like children. Swearing so loudly that we could hear them clearly across the entire dining room. The cooks were imitating mentally handicapped people, as well as one of the cooks touching his beard then touching customer's plates. The gentleman who gave exceptional service was Jordan, we cannot thank him enough.

The staff was great but the food was horrible. We ordered 4 Italian pasta dishes (nothing Italian about it). They were all swimming in the same disgusting sauce that tasted like expired ketchup. Thank God for garlic and bread! Even though it cost quite a bit. We left all our food. Inedible. Change cook please. Nothing upscale as advertised. Won't be going there again.

I searched online for "nice" and "upscale" restaurants in Great Falls and this was one of few businesses that popped up (let's just say there weren't many to choose from). I wanted to try one final restaurant before my next morning departure back home, so my family and I opted for Dante's on the evening of 13 Aug 2024. We made reservations out of habit because living in Las Vegas (LV), it's always highly recommended that you make reservations at certain restaurants, especially the popular ones. Needless to say, we didn't really need to make reservations because when we arrived, the restaurant wasn't busy at all (probably since it was a Tuesday evening). We were nicely greeted by the hostess that evening and quickly escorted to our table which was situated right next to the window. This seat was especially wonderful that evening because during our meal, it started raining outside which added to the tranquil atmosphere, rustic décor, and wonderful company from my family. Although I'm more of a modern décor type of person (hence why I enjoy living in LV), I did appreciate this restaurant's architecture/design; it definitely matched the historic nature of the city. With respect to our food and drinks, we ordered the Bear Proof Huckleberry Old Fashioned, Smith and Hook Cab, and Shirley Temple for our drinks; Bacon-Wrapped Filet Mignon, Chicken Parmigiana, and New York Steak for our entrées; and the Chocolate Volcano for our dessert. I don't recall the last time I've been to a restaurant with my family and we didn't order any appetizers, but this was one of those situations and a rare moment for us - probably due to having a robust brunch session earlier in the day. The Old Fashioned was different compared to the traditional way of preparing it, but it was a good twist on the creation of the drink utilizing what appears to be the fruit staple of Great Falls...Huckleberry. I've tried the Smith and Hook Cab before and no major complaints here; and the Shirley Temple was adequate. The Filet and Chicken Parm were satisfactory, but I cannot say the same about the New York Steak. Unfortunately for me, my steak was less than adequate - it lacked flavor and was overcooked. Could I have asked the server for another steak? Yes, but I chose not to because (1) I didn't want to stay longer since we had more things to accomplish that evening; and (2) if a restaurant that identifies themselves as "fine dining" according to Google, then I shouldn't have to ask to remake another one - it should've been correctly prepared the first time. Regardless, I had enough steaks in my lifetime, so I didn't lose sleep over it. And finally, the bread and balsamic dip that arrived in the beginning, along with the dessert were good. The service from the entire restaurant staff was wonderful and our main server, Misty, did a great job that evening. I did notice one of the servers walking around with a giant pepper grinder and was curious if that device was supposed to have made it to our table at one point. I kept forgetting to ask our server, but didn't think anything of it since I was able to adapt and overcome the pepper barrier and utilized the pepper shaker that's on every table - no issues there. Overall, I will say that this restaurant was just ok...hence my 3-star rating. This restaurant did not fully meet my expectations, especially since I was hoping for some top of the line and exquisite culinary experience due to how this restaurant advertises their business online (kudos to their marketing team). I'm sure this restaurant is very popular with the residents in Great Falls and its surrounding cities/towns, but for me, I've had way better restaurants in and out of the United States. However, if you're visiting Great Falls or a resident, and have never tried this restaurant, I am still recommending this place to you - I hope you have a better first-time experience than I did.

Great drinks, food and service. The raspberry lemon drop was delicious. I recommend pecan chicken and wontons :)

Don’t eat here. It’s only “fancy” if you have never left the state and do not know any better.

My husband and I shared a wonderful dinner here. The bread/appetizer came out quickly and the food was piping hot and delicious. The servers worked as a team to keep our drinks refilled and to make sure we were never waiting on anything. It's been a bit tough finding good restaurants (that aren't absurdly overpriced) in Great Falls, but so far this may be one of our favorites. We'll definitely be back!

Not rushed and many fillings of good coffee.

Never expected much while in Great Falls and wasn't let down. To begin, the unsweetened tea some how managed to get lined with root beer. Definitely was a horrible experience with that mix. Next the house made chips and salsa was absolutely disgusting, over salted chips and water for salsa. I ordered the Prime Rib sandwich for lunch, and could of swore shoe leather was more tender. Never seen a prime rib cooked well done. The best part was my card was charged wrong so they voided the first attempt with out notifying me first. So now my bank still has a 62 dollar hold on my card. Thankfully that 62 dollars won't break me but to some customers that just want a nice lunch that double charge could mean a water bill and overdraft fee. This place is very comparable to a nursing home, dated decor, bland food and everyone enjoyed leaving.

Great Food and wonderful service.

Only issue was "Blackened" prime rib was excessively salty.

The food was mediocre at best. Everyone was friendly and service was prompt. They were willing to work on a modification to menu which I greatly appreciated. The noodles were overcooked and the sauce was very bland. I wouldn’t recommend.

This is a review is from a while back, our visit there was memorable. We used to go there, liked the walleye and the bread with elephant garlic, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil. The garlic tasted real funny, wife rejected it. I wasn't so smart, and had violent diarrhea 10 minutes later. Went home because of how I felt. Called owner. They refused to do anything about it. That's the very last time we ate there.

Dante's is one of my favorite places. Great food, super service and excellent atmosphere. Perfect place for Valentine's Day or a nice date.

Underwhelming, considering the price.

The lobster was overcooked and tough. The fillet was undercooked and extremely tough. I don't have a problem eating a steak rare but this one was really hard to chew and nothing was really seasoned very well. It also took nearly an hour to get our main course.

I ordered the special. Can't tell you the name. Chicken something with capers and lemon. Was ok, not my favorite. Salad and bread was good. Bartender was kind and friendly and excellent service.

Went for Christmas party. Food was okay I dont find many stakes to be seasoned enough but the rest was good. And pur server was awesome

Some of the flavoring needed more pepper. Table pepper had no flavor.

We had the Thursday night special, and will return. This is a sit down, great atmosphere, relaxed dinner out. Thank you for the quality.

The food was good, not spectacular. The service was fair, our waitress had a li'l bit of an attitude when we asked for more wine, coffee etc. It was my parents 59th Anniversary but the 6 of us were well mannered. The guy filling the waters was very pleasant so it all balanced out. PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS!!

Came to have lunch and little did we know that a cup of soup black bean soup came with a receipt inside the cup of soup. We immediately called our server and came back and said that they would not charge us for the soup. Yukkkkkkksss! Disgusting! I ordered sea food linguine and guess what, all dried up, the bread provided with the linguine was stale! Needless to say we will never come back to this restaurant. I hope that management will look into what their people are serving their customers! What a terrible experience!

The only people that think this place decent is Great Falls people who haven’t gotten to leave. Place is dirty with cheap design. Food isn’t even remotely good. People just think that because you’re paying $50 a plate that it’s good. Not how it works. Pretty sure the same backend works at both Applebees and this place. No cooking or plating skill.

Was planning an evening with my wife in the lounge with no reservations required, but upon entering, the lounge/bar had minimal seating and the one remaining seat at the bar had a “reserved” sign at it. Won’t be recommending this to anyone or returning anytime soon.

Our favorite place to have a nice dinner. Top-level servers, good and consistent quality of food. A more up scale dining experience.

We try to visit Dante's a few times a year because we consistently get great service & their food is fantastic.

The inside is nice and kind of fancy. Unfortunately, the side salad was the best of what I ate tonight. I was a party of 1 and the service was slow. I ordered the seafood manicotti with Alfredo sauce. I believe it came with 2 manicotti, but it was hard to tell. It was swimming in Alfredo sauce and bubbling over with cheese. All I could taste was salt and I never complain about anything being too salty, so it was pretty bad! She never once checked on me to see how the food was or if I needed anything else, and never filled my water, which is a huge pet peeve of mine.

I love Dantes. My favorite place for lunch. I can never be tired of the Blast sandwich. Where else can you get tasty lunch for under 10 dollars.

Steak was perfect, service OK, but menu and interior straight out of the eighties. Both probably creative then, not so much now. Reasonable prices, reasonable everything, just not outstanding.

Great food and drinks. Happy hour from 5 to 7....had the 20oz blackened prime rib.. Bar none the best prime rib i have had anywhere!!

Cozy environment with delicious food! I enjoyed the salmon very much and the salad was great!! Definitely recommended.

Service was great! Our waitress was wonderful. But the food is not good. Nothing was salted. Vegetables were frozen. You could taste the freezer burn and they were served in a puddle of water. Potatoes are instant mash. Steak tastes like it’s been sitting in the window for 45 minutes. If this was Dennys I may expect this meal but paying $40 for a $5 steak with frozen vegetables and instant potatoes. Nahh. Maybe other options are better. We did enjoy our artichoke dip. And bread was great.

Still one of the better restaurants in Great Falls. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. Great staff. Wonderful food. One of my new favs in Great Falls. First place I've had salmon that was not overcooked. Attentive waitstaff, timely service and a beautifully designed dining area. We also sampled Manicotti Fumano, Cajun Shrimp Linguini and kids Alfredo. All were quite nicely prepared.

Overall Dante’s is a great place to have a quiet dinner or sit in the bar and have their appetizers. I’ve been going to Dante’s for about 5 years a couple time a month. Always great food and great drinks and service is on par. However, over the last 6-8 months the quality of the food has gone down. My last experience was in the bar. Our food came and one item was burnt crisp and we couldn't eat it and the other was under cooked and not seasoned. The bar was average busy for one server and they did their best under the circumstances. We boxed up our food paid our bill and left. This is not the first time we’ve had our food come out under cooked over cooked or the wrong item altogether.

Great food, great prices, great service.

We came here as a group of 6 to check it out. The service was decent but could use improvement. They claim this is a "finer dining" choice and I would completely disagree with that. I had the walleye, it was so over battered, undercooked, and soggy. Way too much sauce on it. My asparagus was disgusting, overcooked and also soggy. My husband had the steak, very chewy and not cooked to desire. All of the food came out fairly cold. Would not go here again

Had an excellent dinner there this weekend with the shrimp scampi for me, and the ribeye for my wife. Everything was outstanding. Great tasting meal, lovely staff, and relaxing atmosphere. Exactly what were hoping for.

Happy hour appetizers were pretty good & the steaks are always on point 🤗

I had heard good things about this restaurant, both about the food and hospitality. The food was delicious but the waitstaff needs some coaching or training. We dinned on a Wednesday night, so they were not crowded or the waitstaff over taxed from what I could observe. Including the time we ordered our drinks, to actually receiving them, we had to ask or remind them three time. The food arrived in a timely fashion, and because this was a get acquainted date, we were not rushing to complete our meals. The hours of the restaurant are posted as closing at 9om, However, at 8:45 the servers started turning off lights in sections of the restaurant as a non too subtle hint was time for us to leave. I did not appreciate this passive aggressive communication, and will have little interest in returning. I hope this is addressed with the staff.

Great prime rib and appetizers. A real classic feeling joint!

My table( glass top) was dirty. Finger prints & smudges.Was rather dark. Looked up and I saw that the light fixtures & bulbs were filthy. The food was definitely not what one would expect from an upscale place. Service was okay. This place needs serious attention to it's cleanliness. It needs to be cleaned top to bottom.

Visited Dante's to celebrate our 9yr anniversary, it's a favorite haunt of ours. Tonight had great food, service and atmosphere. Not a fault to be found in our visit tonight. Highly recommend!

This was our first time going to Dante's and it exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was beautiful, our waitress was very pleasant and the full was amazing! We were so full by the time that our entrees got there that we wanted to stop eating but we couldn't because it was so good! Perfect spot to go if you are looking for a little but of a fancier spot in Great Falls.

A wonderful dining experience in a beautiful historic building. The food was high quality, not the best Italian I have ever had, but very good, and the whole atmosphere and dining experience is fantastic for a nice “date night” or other nicer outing. I also thought it was very reasonable priced for the dining experience you receive. I would highly recommend this restaurant

The staff was awesome and super helpful despite me coming in fairly late (~an hour before closing). And I've never been somewhere that provides roasted garlic as a bread topping before the meal! The place looks great and is definitely a future date-night location. Almost everything was delicious. I got a baked penne dish with lots of meats and added chicken to it. My only gripe is with the sauces they use. Something about them was slightly off. For the red sauce, it was as if they used red bell peppers in the sauce, to the point where their flavor overpowered the tomato. For the alfredo sauce (which I used as a dip for the bread), they don't have a regular alfredo sauce but instead either a pesto or dill alfredo. Both taste good, but aren't what I was expecting, and I wouldn't want them on pasta.

Not worth the cost. You can literally get the same taste of food and service from any other places with pasta and seafood. I love that they try, but even the presentation or the amount of food wasn't impressive. Just go to Chili's or Applebee's to get a similar experience.

We have come here often and sat in the bar. Tonight in the dining room I had the prime rib and bacon wrapped cajun shrimp appetizer . Excellent smokey flavor on both. Only a touch of the wonderful horseradish was needed. The staff has always been top notch and we have never been disappointed.

Food was so amazing I forgot to take pictures of the entrees. They were extremely accommodating to go out of their way to meet a special seating need.

Family dinner. We had reservations, which was good because they didn't have any obvious open tables. Waiter was friendly and got drinks and refills promptly. Mixed drinks were a little weak. Prime rib and steaks were excellent.

Took the family here for my wife's birthday. Everything was outstanding . I have been to most restaurants in Great Falls and this is by far my new favorite. Food is 5 star and service was 5 star.

As a sit in customer it's great but as a delivery driver it has been the biggest waste of time. Show up only to be told the cook is to busy even though there is 15 to 20 empty tables. Think it is just lazy cooks. They even lost my personal business due to this.

Food was ok. Was one of my favorite restaurants. Won't be going back. Waiter forgot our appetizer and forgot we were there as well. We could hear the heavy metal music playing in the background from the kitchen. When complaining about the gravy, our waiter said, cool cool. Not impressed at all.

We arrived around 4:30 and entered bar area for cocktail and bartender was very nice and took our dinner order, I was looking forward to lobster dinner. And 30 min later had to flag down someone for appetizer. No one and I repeat on one approached our table while every table around us was served. We were showered and deodorized and dressed very nice and polite. It was like our table was wasn't even visible.

Food was ok. Party of 6 hungry men. Out of prime rib out of this out of that service was good and waiter was kinda funny so it's a 3 and not a 2

Rude lazy staff. Refused to take a to go order after I stood there waiting for over 7 minutes without being acknowledged and then made the decision to not dine in while the employees finished their random gab session that had absolutely nothing to do with work. They acted annoyed when asked if they could do a to go order. And guess what the best part was... Their excuse of being to busy and short staffed when there wasn't one soul in there ordering/eating. Won't go back!

Went to meeting, professional. They were fast, great. Have been to other restaurants, I like Dante's best. Food better, their employees very polite.

Sad to say I've been coming here for years and this was the worst I've ever had. My fiance and I ordered items we have had there. Sadly we won't ever be eating here again . So sad since this was my absolute favorite restaurant in great falls. They don't even do the garlic and oil thing by your table it's already presmashed..

They need to server Red Wine in a red wine glass, not a white wine glass...this is upscale for Great Falls, show it!!

Wonderful food with a great atmosphere. We had the clams & mussel appetizer, house gorgonzola ceaser salad, chicken marsala and charbroiled ribeye. It was all delicious I just wish I had saved room for the yummy looking desserts.

Great food always, They really know what entrees and side dishes enhances each other! Steak and seafood along with specialty sauces are the best I’ve tasted! I appreciate good food, I especially appreciate Dante’s.

Excellent food and decent prices

The best prime rib I've ever had and also the largest. So recommend it, prices are higher but it's worth it for the quality and the incredibly tasty food. I recommend the blackened prime rib and add Bleu cheese and bacon on top. It's to die for. Also have to add stopping in the bar for a drink, we had such a wonderful time there..

Went there on a Wednesday. All tables were reserved, but luckily we were able to get a table in the bar area. Would recommend reservations. Food was good with good service.

Enjoyed every part of the restaurant. The servers give you the best comforting welcome.

Food was excellent. The Manhattan I ordered wasn't good at all. For 13.50 I expected to actually taste some whiskey in my drink.

Over sauced, salty dishes. Would like to see the featured ingredients not be smothered, but allowed to shine.

Excellent Service and Atmosphere

This place was just "okay". I guess we were hoping for something a little bit better based off the prices/the talk of the restaurant. There was nothing wrong with our food and service was fine but it was nothing to make a fuss about. However, the cocktail I ordered was not okay at all. I ordered a mojito and it came out in a soft drink cup that they clearly filled with club soda. Couldn't even taste the alcohol. Not sure if we would go back.

It was about 3:55pm. One single person eating in the entire establishment.The rest of the place was empty! My family of 4 came in to eat. They said they were booked and we couldn't eat including in the bar area. We were doubfounded they couldn't allow us to eat when all the tables were empty.

Very nice atmosphere with decent food. Menu features a nice array of items which are mostly Mediterranean choices with an Americanized flair.

Very nice higher end restaurant in Great Falls but still semi casual. Seafood and pasta are awesome. Great service.

*Addendum: I had diarrhea the following day!!!! Nice relaxing atmosphere. Decent crab, but, the drawn butter had no creaminess, just clarification. Good steak, bread & delicious salad & gorgonzola salad dressing. Skip the free garlic dip, I love roasted garlic, but, this was inedible. The mussels w/(teeny-tiny) clams appetizer, had decent quality meat, but, they were not served hot & the buttery sauce was not that great. The sauce was almost gelatinous & cool, so much so, that I didn't want to even dip my bread in it...that's the joy of this dish, after you eat the seafood....so, I'm crying- lol. Skip the tiramisu, it has no coffee flavor, absolutely no syrup, mostly just cake & a ton of cream!? We couldn't finish it, & our family ALWAYS finishes desert. The chocolate shavings were delicious on it. So confused... Very sweet staff. I would eat here again to explore menu. Definitely 1 of the better Great Falls restaurants.

We were seated immediately, by the window as we requested. Elizabeth was our server...very friendly and accommodating. Brought beverages and appetizers, while allowing us to peruse the menu. Appetizer was lovely and very tasty. Main course was inventive and delicious! Thank you Elizabeth, we'll be back soon!

Everything we had was wonderful. I had the prime rib, salad and garlic mashed potatoes. The bread they bring to the table was awesome. My husband had the seafood fettuccine and said it was great.

It's so nice to find some sophisticated food in Montana. Due to covid I haven't been to very many restaurants in Great Falls but this has to be one of the best. Really wonderful first class food

Delicious! Quiet and beautiful. Excellent place to wind down and enjoy drinks. Half priced Happy hour appetizers made it extremely affordable!

Terrible!! Had our reservation wrong and as a no show. Gave our table of 7 one small basket of bread no refill. Bacon wrapped shrimp overcooked on the outside undercooked in the inside. Salad was limp and old. All the steaks were over cooked and unseasoned. The waiter treated us as a huge inconvenience and annoyed he had to even wait on us. We had to wait and ask for whatever we needed. They treated us as an inconvenience rather than a valued guest. Worst experience ever! No exaggeration!! I’ve had better service and food from fast food restaurants. We usually enjoy dining here. Probably will never go back.

Everyone enjoyed their meals, from pasta to seafood to steak. Cool old brick building.
